You guys have probably noticed the er... lack of names on the list today. So let me explain each.
Darebear posted her official leave a while ago, so I just finally got around to updating. Obviously she can't mod if she's not even a member, nyeh? She has been changed to a new "Retired Staff" rank, however, and is welcome to come right back if there is an open position at any time.
Caden hasn't been on in ages and popped in the other day to apologize and say he'd probably be gone a good while longer. He is also Retired Staff and welcome to repromotion when he comes back.
Floramei hasn't been active either almost at all, and certainly not as a mod, and fair is fair; contrary to some belief I don't play favorites. :B Of course she's Retired Staff too.
Kero hasn't logged in, not even to chat in the box, since February 2. She posted no official absence, and left much too shortly after threatening to quit (twice) for comfort; I've received no definite word back from Dare on the matter, but upon asking her she said she didn't think Kero planned to return either. Due to the temper tantrums and unsuitable behavior in the past, she has been demoted to Member rather than Retired Staff; she is certainly welcome to reapply if she returns, but it won't be no-questions-asked. She'll just have to reprove certain standards and such.
Please understand this is not targeting, as there are other past staff-- Ryuujin and Daci off the top of my head-- who are also quite welcome to reapply if they ever return but will need to prove more than some due to past displays of immaturity in various manners.
Palkia.... =__= *sigh* A lot of you were here for that outburst in the chatbox earlier. I've talked to Jay about her own stepping out of line and sort of starting it, but knowing that I was doing so didn't seem to appease Pal any. He is determined to believe that everyone hates him and targets him; despite admitting he is a distant person who is not receptive to warmth or attempts to get close by others, he apparently feels that people 'targeted' him and were intentionally rude/cold (he never responded the several times I alluded to his minor idolization of Cora he'd been going on about only recently). Despite some two hours of trying to calm him down, he only got worse instead of better, stating things like "I just don't like you guys" and other less professional wordings on the same line. Toward the end, it came to "whenever I find my career, no one is ever going to ask me what happened on VC", so why should he care about us or what we think of him? =/ At some point, he asked me to remove him from Staff and I obliged, but by the end as things went from bad to worse and worse, I finally told him he's not allowed to come back- not even to post an apology as I'd advised him toward the beginning.
....So yeah. :|
I'll stand for all the days of my life I've wasted arguing with Kero over petty things, but I will not stand for someone repeatedly talking down me and my friends and my work and saying none of it holds any value because it isn't 'real'. <__<
When I was a kid, my dad used to get so mad at me for 'wasting' time online and such; I use almost none of the skills he encouraged in my real adult life, but I'm STILL friends with nearly all of the 'not real' people I met on my first forum. Two feet away or two continents away, friends are the best thing in the world. What good is money, status, fame, skill, power, or anything else with no one to share it with? Love is just lust without friendship, and blood doesn't tend to mean much, or at least not as much as it would if you're big on blood, if you aren't friends with your family. I don't care if this makes me 'stubborn' or 'annoying' for 'refusing to see anything but my beliefs'. :>
I'm also sorry if that little spiel makes me sound like I'm trying to be an "epitome of virtue". ... X'3;;; That is ALSO quoting Pal. ... I laughed so hard I teared up a little. Apparently doing my best to mediate and promote tolerance (but not avoiding all conflict in the process) is a bad thing? And/or even tries to negate the fact I'm also an abrasive ass and none of you who know me will combat that for a second? 'xD; (I see Elayne and/or Cora going "...D: Kind of, but-" If you have to try that hard it isn't worth combating. x'3 Don't feel bad for admitting what's true even if it doesn't sound nice.<3)

:D IN HAPPIER NEWS DAMMIT.
YAY FOR DOOM. I know he hasn't been RPing really, but he's at least ONLINE, and hey. I don't play MY chars all the time. We all know he's a great writer (with a fun, unique, and interesting style), and he's willing to try even though he's unsure about it, which is why he's a Trial Mod. No pressure, just seeing how it goes. ^^
I know he's skilled enough, and I'm sure most of you know too~ :3 It's mostly a matter of seeing if he can manage the time/muse and, moreso, of building his confidence.
I'm.... not really sure who else is here with both the time and skill to mod? x3; (No offense to some of our less advanced writers of course<3 We love you guys, and everyone I can think of is improving and doing great~ ^^)
