The world seems not the same Though I know nothing has changed It's all my state of mind I can't leave it all behind I have to stand up to be strongerWow...Slow day. Must have been, for Jennifer to have been bored enough to come to the fish markets. Beside her, Benjamin trotted about, sniffing at random things. First a fish display, then at another trainer's Pokemon. Jen had to call to him many times, just to make sure he didn't get into trouble. He always gave a happy little bark and came right back to her, so it wasn't too much of a hassel. The girl sighed, rubbing her neck. Withing her ears, low volumed music played, taking her mind off of last night...
She yawned, shaking her head. Last night was one of the few nights she'd had a nightmare since Burkhard had evolved. It had frayed a few of her nerves, causing her to think she'd seen things from the corner of her eye when there really was nothing there. "Bleh..." Benji nosed her leg, yipping to catch her attention. She looked to him, giving a tired smile and reaching a hand down to pet him. "Thanks..." she mumbled to him, running a hand through her hair. Tired and bored. Good thing she was not sitting, or she might have fallen asleep... I know I should realize Time is precious It is worthwhile Despite how I feel inside Have to trust it'll be alright Have to stand up to be stronger

Of all the places to be, the fish city was not on Lyall's list. However, it was possibly one of the only places he could order the wine from overseas that he stocked his shelves with not to mention the fact that there was the occasional fighting pokemon sighing, so there he was. He had placed the order for his shipment in that morning and had simply remained wandering there for no other direct purpose. As he walked, the blue haired man stopped her and there to look at a few of the shops and things in case anything sparked his general interest. However, nothing held for longer than a minute before he moved onwards. At one point in time, he found himself walking and turning his head towards a shop instead of simply stopping, and in that moment, he ran straight into someone. "Woah sorry about that," he said rather lightly before noticing who he was speaking to.

The world seems not the same Though I know nothing has changed It's all my state of mind I can't leave it all behind I have to stand up to be strongerBenjamin galloped ahead of his trainer, short tail wagging furiously. Jennifer giggled, guessing that he must have seen a cat, or a pretty girl dog. Sighing to herself, she paused at a vendor, viewed the merchandise they had. And while the merchant made it sound good, she walked away from the temptation. Don't buy it if I don't need it. That's what mamma told me... A slight smile touched her lips. Here and there, she paused and browsed, but never stayed for long. And she didn't take out her money. She really didn't act like she had money to spare...
BUMP! Jennifer gave a slight yelp, startled. Had...Had she just walked into someone? She shook her head, cheeks tinted with an embarrassed blush. "Oh, I'm sorry! I should really watch where I'm going..." she apologized quickly, her tongue nearly tripping over her words. Why is he apologizing too? I ran into him! When she looked up at him, actually looking rather than glancing, her cheeks grew warmer and pinker. OH GOD NO! I DID NOT JUST RUN INTO A CUTE GUY! She internally panicked, mentally shooting herself for being a klutz and for even letting herself get riled over this. She bowed her head a bit, chewing her lip, more embarrassment washing over her, along with a load of self-consciousness. I know I should realize Time is precious It is worthwhile Despite how I feel inside Have to trust it'll be alright Have to stand up to be stronger

Eh... Lyall blinked for a few seconds before half laughing. "Come on now, when a man bumps into a woman it's the man's fault always," he smirked back thinking about the strange notion as well as others that had been drilled into his head on growing up. The knight group had beat chivalry into him, and no matter how much he had tried to kill it over the year, he found himself still finding remnants of it in his speech and what not.

"Come on now, when a man bumps into a woman it's the man's fault always."
Jennifer smiled a little. He has manners, at least. She was slowly pushing down the self-conscious and shy part of herself, trying to remember her noble training. Polite, be polite. First rule. But don't be stiff! That's what her parents taught her. "Alright, I'll give you that. But, I really should watch where I'm going. Maybe not daydream while walking?" A small bubble of giggles attempted to break from her mouth, which she let out in a more controlled, soft laugh. A loud, slightly high-pitched bark rang out, making her flinch. Oh...NONONO! Her eyes went wide as her playful pup ran right up to her and the man before her.
Who's that, who's that, who's that!? Can he play!? PLAY! Dear God, Benji was a bit hyper today. He jumped up playfully, placing his paws on Jen's hip, tail wagging 90 miles an hour. He then gave the same treatment to the new guy, jumping up more, seeming to want to lick his face. "Gah! Benjamin! DOWN!" Again, panic flashed across her mind, praying that the man didn't lash out at Benji. She grabbed him by a bone plate on his back, pulling him back. "Calm down Benji, or it's back in the 'Ball!" she hissed to him, making his sit and keeping a hand on his head to make him stay. She sighed, looking back to the man, face going red from embarrassment and the sudden excitement. "I am SO sorry about him. He really loves new people, and he's kind of excitable..." She trailed off, stopping herself from rambling...Barely... When the Houndour all but jumped him, Lyall laughed even more. Dog pokemon had been a norm in the castle as well as the barracks along with horses and things, and they didn't bother him in the least. This excitable pooch wasn't bad at all. "Heh, it's fine...really" the blue haired man answered back leaning down now towards the dog and holding out a hand to pat him on the head. "At least he wasn't something huge like an Arcanine or something," Lyall joked with a grin on his face. "Then I'd be a flat man." Despite the fact that he didn't believe this obvious exaggeration, Lyall like dit as it ran off his tongue. The idea of something big enough to run him over... heh odd.

He stayed sitting, as ordered, but his whole body still wiggled with excitement. He wanted to play! Jennifer scratched him behind the ear, to which he leaned into. A soft smile came to her lips, as if the pup brought her comfort by just being nearby.
"Heh, it's fine...really. At least he wasn't something huge like an Arcanine or something. Then I'd be a flat man."
Oh, for that, Jennifer was very thankful. Still, she laughed. "Wouldn't that have been a sight to see! Getting knocked over and licked to death by an overgrown puppy." She laughed again, smiling. Getting over her shyness quickly, more or less thanks to Benji, she introduced herself finally. "I'm Jennifer, by the way. And the wiggling lump of fur next to me is Benjamin. Benji for short." She offered her hand in greeting, since she lacked a skirt to curtsy in. Besides, who curtsied anymore anyways? Lyall pet the pooch a bit more and then half laughed at the comment about the idea of being sat on by a giant fire dog. As the woman introduced herself, Lyall took the hand and gave it an easy shake. "My name's Lyall," he answered back. In truth, due to gang status, he would have introduced himself as Lancer, yet eh... with people around the area, Lyall was a far better name of choice (not to mention the habit of calling himself Lyall was internal because it was his real name). After a moment, he brought his hand down and stroked the pup. "And hey there, man," he spoke with a light smirk all the while.

I doubt it...Curse my bad memory! Still, she didn't let that inner thought stop her from enjoying his company for now. "Glad to meet you, Lyall." Just as she finished saying this, she plucked out her earbuds finally and put her music player away. She'd really forgotten that the little electronic was even out and in her ears. Only polite to show I really am paying attention... She deposited the iPod in her bag, her hand momentarily lifted from Benji.
And that was when he pounced! In responce to Lyall's greeting to him, Benjamin lunged forward, rearing up on his hind legs. He pressed his face close to Lyall's, hoping to lick his a fair few times before Jen pulled him away again. HAI! Wanna play? the pup seemed to be saying. Jen yelped as the pup pounced and attempted to grap him, only to miss and latch onto his stubby tail. Still, she gripped this handle and tried to pull Benji back, wantign to pull him back before he did something they'd BOTH regret. "Darn you, Benji! DOWN!" The sudden tackle and licks only seemed to make Lyall laugh and laugh hard. He could have easily shoved the pup off of him, but what was the fun in that. "Hahhahah a lively pup," the blue haired man grinned slowly pushing him away but constantly patting him as he went. I need a dog man.. I've been without one too long.... Or hadn't been around one in so long. That. Yes that. He had never really owned a dog pokemon, but they had always been around and.....

PLAY!! he seemed to demand. Jennifer lost her grip on his tail, nearly falling back. Scowling, she dug into her bag and brought out a squeeker ball. Squeezing it a couple of times to make it give off noise, Benji whipped around to stare intently at the ball. The teen tossed the ball down the lane, watching the Houndour barrel off after it. She sighed, rubbing her temple. "I am SO sorry for him...He really loves people." She gave Lyall a sheepish grin. "And you're prolly the friendliest new face we've met." Soon enough, Benjamin came back, ball in mouth, squeeking it himself joyfully. He dropped it in Jen's waiting hand, and the young woman offered it to Lyall. "Wanna try? One good toss, and he's your best friend." She laughed, knowing just how true that joking statement was. Lyall smirked and then grinned. "Well he's a good dog pokemon then," he answered back to the first statement. "A dog is supposed to be man's best friend after all." After the Houndour brought back the ball, Lyall took it from Jennifer and then threw it a good hundred yards down the lane. Yep... he needed a good dog now. "Where did ya find him?" the blue haired man asked looking back over again and thinking that he might be able to find a pup with that sort of playful nature in the same area.

"Aye, that's what my dad taught me." And I wouldn't change Benji for the world. As he threw the ball, Benjamin darted off after it, barking happily, eyes huge with excitement. HE PLAAAAAAAYS!!! If he got any happier, he'd explode with joy. Jen tilted her head, thinking a moment. "Hm...I believe I got him at the adoption center in the Central Capital." She giggled, remembering that day. "I wasn't really looking for a pet at the time, but something about him drew me in. He won my heart over, I guess you could say." She looked thoughtful about this for a moment. Maybe I should go back... Even though she wanted to try catchign Pokemon for herself, adoption wasn't a bad thing. Especially if there were Pokemon like Benji in need of homes. "Ah that's cool," Lyall grinned and nodded. He'd forgotten there was an adoption center. Maybe he'd go back hmmm. He put a hand to his chin and seemed to think for a moment. He went in and out of Central Capital easy enough, and he could easily stop in and look every once in a while.

The world seems not the same Though I know nothing has changed It's all my state of mind I can't leave it all behind I have to stand up to be strongerJen watched as Benji came back, tongue hanging out of the side of his maw with the ball safely tucked behind his canines. The energetic Houndour nosed Lyall's leg, rump wiggling with the force of his short tail's wagging. Jen chuckled softly, smirking at her pup. What a happy little moron he is... Her gaze switched back to Lyall. "Think you have a new best friend," she stated, amused by Benji's antics. The pup pawed at Lyall's leg gently, as if to beg him to throw the ball again. Again? Please? he seemed to ask. Jen gave an idle hum for a moment, before tilting her head at a thought. "You should go visit the adoption center, if you're looking for a little buddy. They, at any given time, have just about anything and everything." She smiled, hoping she wasn't being pushy with the suggestion. And that she wasn't being a know-it-all. Lyall grinned to himself and took the ball from the small dog pokemon before suddenly tossing it again grinning a bit as he did so. Yah... he'd definitely need something more dog-like, heh. Ri came close, but she was still more fox than dog, really. After a few seconds, he looked back at Jen and seemed to grin. "Heh, I think I will," he answered back with something akin of 'as a matter of fact'. "I have a Glaceon named Ri, but she's not really a dog when it comes down to it," Lyall chuckled a little before pulling out a pokeball. Releasing the ice fox pokemon, Layll looked back at Jen. Ri, looked around a moment slightly recognizing the city. However, the moment her eyes set on Jen, Ri made a high pitch 'glace' exclamation and quickly walked over smiling rather easily and swishing her tail a little. Ohhh this lady was pretty 8DDDDD.....

The world seems not the same Though I know nothing has changed It's all my state of mind I can't leave it all behind I have to stand up to be strongerAgain, so predictably, Benji hauled ass after the ball, kicking up a small dust cloud in his wake. As his happy bark grew more and more distant, Jennifer smiled more easily at Lyall. Oh? He knows how to be playful. In a way, she liked the 'matter of fact' tone he took. Not too many at home took that tone with her, and if they did, they were usually other nobles and used the tone to be snide. "That's good. Maybe you'll find a mini-Benji while you're there." She chuckled at the thought, purely saying so out of jest. There couldn't possibly be another critter like Benji...Could there? Well, by the gods, those two forces should never meet. There would be an explosion of happiness to rival that of the sun!
About that time was when Lyall had mentioned and released Ri. "You have a Glaceon? Luuucky~" Jen had always loved the Eevee family of fox Pokemon, but she'd oddly never had the chance to nab one or two of the rare Pokemon. As soon as she saw the Glaceon, a grin broke out on her face and a sense of wonder filled her. "She's beautiful..." Jen remarked softly, kneeling down and offering a hand to Ri. She was filled with the compulsion to pet the gorgeous creature, but would remain respectful and let the fox come to her. Lyall grinned at the thought of finding a houndour or maybe another type of fire dog. It'd be good... just hopefully something that liked to play as much as this one did. Ri, who noticed the hand extended to her, instantly stepped forwards and rubbed the top of her head into the girl's hand. Oh how much she like being pet~! A rather interesting purr of sorts came from the Glaceon Lyall looked sideways a moment and chuckled to himself. "I'm pretty sure she thinks she's a cat or something," he joked a little.

The world seems not the same Though I know nothing has changed It's all my state of mind I can't leave it all behind I have to stand up to be strongerBenji came barreling back to Lyall, giving off muffled yips and barks. He nosed Lyall's rump with some force, having come up behind the man. More! he seemed to say. Jen smiled warmly at Ri's acceptance of her hand and petting, seeming ready to burst with a new happiness. Could this really be her first time around an Eeveelution? Most likely not, though the few she had encountered were just like their owners; nose it air like their crap don't stink. The noble woman petted more, gently rubbing and scratching behind the skull cap, ears, and under the cheeks and jawline. Oh how she enjoyed this! "Cat-like or not, she's lovely. You must have raised her very well...So sweet and so soft!" Oh, yes, Lyall had hit one of those spots in Jen's heart by showing her his Glaceon. Boy did it ever show! "I wish the nobles' pets were like this..." she mumbled softly, still petting Ri and giving her special attention. Benji snorted to himself, a bit jealous. But, since that little blue fox was stealing his human for now, he'd steal her human for now! He nosed at Lyall again, whining very softly. Lyall grinned a bit as the pooch had come back and was no nudging him. Chuckling to himself he reached forwards and took the ball from Beji again before tossing it once more careful to keep it in a place that wouldn't get the pup into trouble. The last thing he needed was to accidentally throw it in the water or something. As if on some sort of water cue, a water droplet hit the very senter of Lyall's head. The blue haired man blinked rather confused for a few seconds putting a hand to his head before looking up and noticing that the sky was turning a bit more gray and starting to demand some rain. Well hopefully it'd hold off for another few minutes or so.
After a moment, he looked back at Jen and grinned a bit. "I caught her as an Eevee. She was already pretty cat-like even then and took care of herself. I started raising her up a bit, and eventually we were walking in the commercial district one day, and she caught sight of the Ice Shard in the window... and man if I've never seen her plead. It was the silliest thing you can imagine," he chuckled a bit to himself. "So I ended up buying it for her and watching it change her." Ri, who was rather pleased with the story (as well as the pettings and things<3) pretty much 'nya'd back confirming Lyall's story.
Possibly lucky for both parties involved, Lyall hadn't heard the mumble about nobles, in the end of it all.
