Name: Sigmund Ethan Blake
Nicknames: Sig, Siggy, Iggy, probably many more that aren't so nice...
Age: 26
DoB: Feb. 20, 1985
Gender: Male
Orientation: Homosexual
Affiliation: Typically, Sigmund isn't swayed either way. He prefers the company of rebels over nobles, the common people over all else. Should his rights be violated, he'll stick with the group that has his best interests at heart, thus making him likely to change sides unless something more personal keeps him in one spot. Sigmund may be swayed to join a gang, though he may be a little too flashy for the tastes of people that want to stay low.
Occupation: Musician; he plays the guitar mostly, but has also learned the violin, drums, piano/organ, cello, bass guitar, and he's attempting to learn the flute (to help branch away from stringed instruments and drums). He will sometimes tutor people, if they are willing to pay and have a passion for music. (He can't afford to work for free, nor will he teach someone that doesn't truly love music. He's not gonna waste his time.)
Party: Sigmund's PC
Supplies: -PokeBall x5
-Rare Candy x1
-Guitar (with him the greater majority of the time in a soft case that straps to his back)
-Violin (usually at home, sometimes switched with the guitar)
-Several other musical instruments (cello, two more guitars (including a bass), flute, drums, and piano; usually kept at home)
-Hair care kit x2 (a small one kept with him, a larger one kept at home)
-Musical instrument care kits (one for each instrument, kept with the particual instrument at all times)
-Notebook, pencils, pens (at home and with him, for scribbling down ideas)
-MP3 player with all of his favorite music.
(This list is likely to be added to as time goes on)
Appearance: [x][x][x][x][x]
Minus his sitar, obviously.
Face Claim: Demyx; Kingdom Hearts II
Personality: Sigmund is a rather odd man. He is loyal to the point of stupidity to his friends and family. He is very charismatic and outgoing, unafraid to talk to just about anyone. He'll try his hardest to cheer someone up, to the point that he might go as far as to hug them unmercifully! Sigmund is very patient, and when you see just how he makes his living, you see why. He seems to have inherited his father's high self-esteem, as he has a lot of pride in himself and his work. He also has a high sense of duty, doing what he feels is right with little to no complaint. The only time he may ever complain, even refuse to do something, is when it may endanger someone he's taken a liking to. I guess that's his protective nature peeking through.
Like any human, Sigmund has his flaws. He tends to be rather clingy, and really doesn't like being alone. At times, he can seem to shut off his emotions and become deadpan and cold. This only ever really happens when he needs to detach himself from a situation, or someone pushes him into this state. But the stark difference can be really shocking when one is used to his normal self. Of course, if it were possible for a living being to be prideful, Sigmund would be a good example. He has that whole "I can do this, you can't stop me" and "oh yes, I so did that" thing about him. He's also terribly flirty, tending to wink or give people endearing nicknames. With as seriously as he takes his music, he tends to get temperamental when something stops him from doing it right. This can lead to him simply being broody, to him swearing or throwing things, or even throwing a man-sized tantrum. A when hurricane Sigmund blows through, you'd better back away slowly and avoid eye contact.
Other: Mm, DON'T touch his musical equipment without his permission. He WILL choke a bitch.
Family: Victoria Blake; mother (Deceased)
Jason Blake; father (Not in contact with anymore)
Mac Stone; ex-boyfriend (Left on good terms; no longer in contact)
History: Like many a kid, Sigmund was born to a loving mother and father. Victoria and Jason were a well off, middle class couple, with a nice house of their own and a good plot of land to call theirs. It was the perfect environment to raise their little Sigmund. At the age of five, they gave him the choice of several baby Pokemon to have, each of them having been bred from his parent's own Pokemon. Sigmund, even at that earlier age, showed that he was a bit...Different...Instead of choosing something that many little boys were known for (such as the Charmander or the Taillow or even the Pichu his parents offered), he chose something rather odd. The little guy caught his eye right off the bat! He just HAD to have him! It was none other than a sad little male Igglybuff. Honestly, his parents had been shocked at the choice, especially his prideful father. But Sigmund was adamant about it. He NEEDED that Igglybuff. So began the wayward spiral of a journey that is Sigmund's life.
Of course, even from a young age, Jason tried to teach Sigmund what kind of life he should have. Grow up to be a strong man, with strong arms and a good mind. Marry a lovely girl and pass on the Blake family name. Honor the family. Things of that sort. Sigmund only payed attention half the time, often distracted by the things his mother did or by a passing butterfly-like Pokemon or by a cute boy...A yes, Jason had begun to notice his son was acting just a bit weird by the time he was twelve. The boy hadn't shown interest in girls at all! As just about any worried father would do, Jason sat down with Sigmund, figuring that maybe 'the talk' was just what the boy needed to steer him in the 'right' direction. Shocked as he was, Jason was almost slapped verbally by what Sigmund said. "Dad, Mamma already told me about this stuff. She told me to say just what I'd told her to you, even if I'm scared. I don't like girls like that. I think I like boys, Dad."
After that moment in time, Jason began to distance himself from Sigmund. Even reacting violently when, at the age of fifteen, Sigmund brought a boy home. Sigmund defended his (at the time) boyfriend, taking the flung fist and shoving. Sigmund's boyfriend was scared for both his life and the life of the blonde teen, and called the police. When Victoria, a normally gentle and kind woman, saw that her husband wasn't stopping, she screamed for her Pokemon to stop him. All hell broke loose when Jason's Pokemon stood to defend him, and Victoria was forced to try and pry her husband from her son. He shoved her away, causing her to knock painfully into a bookcase, which toppled over onto the delicate woman. Mac, Sigmund's boyfriend, struggled to help the poor woman while Sigmund finally lashed back at his father. Eventually, Sigmund let out the only Pokemon he hand, Liron. The pink Pokemon, now a Jigglypuff, floated away from the chaos and sang a soothing lullaby.
By the time the police arrived, everyone was calmed, some even alseep. Jason was taken away, pending criminal charges, while Victoria was taken to the hospital. Sigmund stayed with Mac and his family during this time, becoming more depressed by the day. To the point were even Liron had a tough time cheering him up. Mac and Liron worked together to keep Sigmund smiling, but all attempts failed after the hospital called with terrible news. Victoria had been literally crushed when the heavy and loaded bookcase had toppled onto her. Despite the best efforts of her doctors, she had passed away late one evening. Soon after, Jason was charged with assault, domestic violence, and manslaughter. He was stripped of his Pokemon, who were sent away to Sigmund's grandparents (along with Victoria's Pokemon to her parents).
There Sigmund sat, curled up into a sobbing ball in his boyfriend's arms. His mother was dead, his father was rotting in a jail cell. He was homeless and without anything to his name, except Liron and his suicidal thoughts. It took many years, but Sigmund did eventually get better. He had Mac and Mac's parents to thank for that. At the age of nineteen, Sigmund finally decided that it would be best if he left his small suburb and his city of birth. He had always been skilled with playing instruments (especially stringed), and he'd gotten better over the years, but what for? He had an ear for music, and the voice for singing, but why? For what purpose? Settling his mind on finding out the answers to these questions, he decided to go on a journey of self-discovery. As a parting gift, Mac gave Sigmund a young Pawniard, smiling and telling him to raise it well. Mac also kissed him and told him should he ever return, he'd always have a home.
Of course, the region of Era was going through much change during this time. Nolan being an ass, rebels getting violent, nobles being greedy...Same news, different day. That was how Sigmund saw it constantly. Of course, he often preformed music for people. Music that tugged their heartstrings, music that helped them to feel. Helped them to cope with the ongoing chaos. Slowly, but surely, Sigmund became proficient with a number of instruments, and could sing a great many songs. Song that reached people's thoughts and feelings and hearts. All in all, Sigmund couldn't give two shits about politics, as long as no body robs him of his freedoms. Freedom of expression, freedom of speech, freedom to listen to and create music, freedom to love who he wanted. He helped were he could, giving when he could. But he wasn't loyal to any particular noble, nor was he exactly gutsy enough to be a rebel.
Nowadays, Sigmund makes his money as a musician. He preforms and teaches the arts. He's slowly building up the Pokemon team of his dreams, a team of amazing Pokemon that he can form a band with. He's already got a firm start, with a talking Wigglytuff, a mello Wooper (a somewhat fresh catch), and a fierce Pawniard. It'll take a lot of time, but he thinks it'll be well worth it.
