New Logora is fairly quiet as most regions go these days—there are no evil teams threatening to snatch Pokémon away, the world is not in danger, the biggest thing going on is the start of a busy new trainers' season and the preparations for gubernatorial elections. Everything is peaceful, or as peaceful as modern life ever gets, anyway, and no one can complain because things could certainly be worse...
...but, according to some of the Tanoby, the descendants of the ancient civilization that once thrived in this part of the world, they could also be better. Long ago Logora was home to legendary Pokémon whose very presence granted the region bounty, prosperity and power. The legendaries have long since been lost to time after the events that led up to the Exodus, but a small group of remaining Tanoby mystics who call themselves the Revivalists are looking to return them to their former glory. There have been so few clues over the centuries, so much time and effort and research that seems to have amounted to nothing, but at long, long last they believe they've found something—the first hints at what might just be the key to restoring the legendary Pokémon to their rightful places.
They say they could use some help... are you interested?
- Turquoise aims to be welcoming for all ages and experience levels. There's no minimum wordcount/paragraph count and "literacy" isn't required, but if complex characters and involved storylines are your thing then you're encouraged to write to your heart's content.
- The RP proper consists of moderated solo journeys, but there are plenty of opportunities for more traditional group-based roleplaying with other users. Going forward ou can also expect plot events and other activities that will have players cooperating or competing with one another, such as player-run clans, special achievements, recognition for talented roleplaying and more on the way.
- Pokémon battles are a simplified version of in-game battles with the mods handling all that nasty math—you're free to ignore the numbers and simply order commands and interact with your pokémon if that's all you want. That said, Turquoise's events, sidequests and joint interactive roleplays can involve more storytelling-based battles and pokémon interaction with nary a stat in sight—our goal is a game that people who are just interested in Pokémon can pick up and play while still providing a multitude of options and freedom for more dedicated RPers.
- On that note, we don't railroad you into working through the region in a specific order. Take on the Normal-type gym first, take on the Steel-type gym first, wait a while to raise up your Pokémon and explore for a while before heading off to explore the ruins—whatever suits your adventure best! (Just be aware that not all routes through the league are made equal—make your decisions carefully when you're just starting out!)
- Characters are generally original (non-canon) human pokémon trainers, as we'd prefer to treat this as an extension of the canon world (pokémorphs are very, very unlikely to actually be a thing, for example), although you have a bit of leeway with that so long as your character has no significant advantages over the abilities a normal human would have when working through a situation/solving a problem—you have your pokémon to help you, after all! In the future we plan to add options for other trainer classes and playstyles as well.
- The game takes place in a custom fan-made region with an intriguing history and over one hundred fakemon that were designed with care, passion and attention to detail. They're not just sprites of purple cats with fire on them and awkward or overpowered movesets—they look like pokémon, they act like pokémon and they play like pokémon.
- In the near future the community will be working together to create a second massive region and pokédex as well, so if you like pokémon design or creating artwork then you're welcome to stick around and help out!
- We have a companion TurquoiseDex wiki with a detailed pokédex for all currently available pokémon, RP guides and an ever-expanding list of pages and resources detailing the region and the game itself. Soon you'll be able to look up almost any information about Turquoise's world... except for plot spoilers, that is.
- And, of course, we've got the usual complement of non-RP discussion and creation areas, complete with a warm, welcoming and open community. We're fresh off a grand re-opening, former members are returning, new members are joining and we're growing all the time!
Want a little preview of the new pokémon you'll be encountering?
My name is Gadari. Nice to meet you! No, none of that "Professor Gadari" nonsense; I'm no professor. As a matter of fact I used to be a trainer of quite some renown, but now that I'm retired I help new trainers like you get started by handing out these Pokédexes and special starter Pokémon. That's why you're here, correct? Wonderful. Just tell me a little about yourself and I'll get your equipment and your new partner ready to go!
Here are the Pokémon I have available. Choose wisely—this little fellow will likely become your Pokémon partner for life! (If you need to know a little more about your options, why not try out that new Pokédex and see what it says?)

Acafia rub their thorns against rocks and tree trunks to keep them sharp. The thorns are not very sturdy and can snap if used too roughly, but they will grow back in a few days' time. Learn more...
Crocoal are young and prone to bursting into flame without warning. The tips of this Pokémon's mane and tail are always smoldering as a result. Learn more...
Spraylet are still young and cannot control their impulse to screech when excited. They think they are brave and powerful when in reality they are still quite dependent on their parents or trainers. Learn more...
