Tomorrow we'll rise
It was dark, cold and quiet, like it always was when nighttime fell over the slums. Kamui didn't come here often, preferring to stay away. Why, you ask? He and his gang wasn't exactly welcomed here. Since he had, in all technicality, killed the leader of one of the larger gangs that used to populate the area and rose to power with his Yakuza behind him, the other gangs had seen him as a threat.
Not that Kamui minded being seen as a threat.
Matter of fact, he kinda liked it.
It gave him a certain aura of authority and kept the wannabe punks away from him. That left the people with serious challenges, offers and requests coming to him. It was better this way. Not only for the Yakuza, but for Kamui's sanity. Feeling a tug at the bottom of his pants tearing him from his thoughts, Kamui looked down at the tiny, shiny shinx, Mao. The pokemon had a small portion of the fabric of his pants in its maw as he looked up at his trainer with question clear in its eyes. With a soft sigh, he smiled at the yellow cat-poke and leaned down to pet him lightly. "I know what you're thinking. I'm not exactly sure why we're here either..." His voice trailed off as his words sank in.
... Why were they here?
Each time they came here, something bad happened. Whether it be some sort of destruction on a grand scale, a gang shootout or a hardcore battle - the outcomes were never good. Perhaps Kamui was a glutton for punishment. But like two magnets, he seemed drawn to this place. This hell.
Biting his lower lip slightly, he stood back up and straightened his clothes out before moving forward once again, Mao sticking close to his side. "Whatever the reason it is that we're here, Mao... it has to be important..." The words were spoken more so to himself over the pokemon, almost as if trying to justify why he was here.
"But we're here..." He muttered, stopping once again at the corner of a small building, watching the people move about below.
so we fight today.

Seth traveled through the dark city with a grovyle at his side. Well, the pokemon was at his side some of the time. Ace was busy practicing his stealth and agility in the gloomy alley-ways. The grass type would move quickly and silently along the streets; gliding from building to building, clinging to brick walls and scaling broken fire escapes. At random intervals the gecko pokemon would spring forth from the darkness and strike at a street sign or fire hydrant - whatever happened to be his current target.
Seth was proud of his pokemon for wanting to improve - that was the kind of spirit that made champions, and how Seth wanted to be a champion. It still bothered him that he hadn't competed in the Kanto league. It was his dream and he missed his chance. "I would've won." He said to himself, and to the grovyle if he were listening. Seth wouldn't acknowledge the possibility of a loss, as he never competed there was no one to say that he wouldn't have come out on top. Still, that thought haunted him.
The trainer kicked a stray can out of his path. This part of the city was oddly empty. From somewhere in the distance Seth could hear the surging noise of traffic. There were no cars around in this particular corner of the city, though. He wondered if there were gangs about; they might be the reason this section of the city was deserted.
The grovyle stood watchfully at the edge of a building. He looked down at the empty streets, waiting for a real target to catch his eye. Then he found one, a man walking with a shinx at his ankles. With a deciding nod Ace swooped down in front of the man, purposely missing him with a leaf blade. He only meant to graze his chest, as a warning, as a challenge.
Seth saw his grovyle free fall from the rooftop, his green feathers flowing behind him. "Looks like this place isn't as empty as it looks." The man ran toward where his grovyle had landed and found him face to face with another person. "Hey, Ace" Seth spoke to his pokemon, "Stand down."
With a sly gleam in his eye the grovyle obeyed his trainer and fell back to Seth's side. That encounter was fun and he wanted to see how this stranger would react.

Teme Efrette walked with a high step and two guns in her hands both aimed off to the side but easily put forwards if the need was brought forth. Following her, Emma, her Pichu was close by stopping every few seconds to look at some of the strange things in the slums. In all honesty, the Pichu was wondering why exactly she was there in the first place. It was a rather scary place to begin with, yet she knew Teme would protect her for the sheer idea of the blond haired woman failing was not part of her psyche. However, none the less, the Pichu stayed close to her trainer. For the love of hell, is it really this hard to find one damn man? Teme thought to herself ready to shoot at pretty much anything that moved at that point. She was not in a good mood probably stemmed from the fact that she was also hungry. She hadn't eaten in two days since her money had run out, and she was bound and determined to replenish that amount of money in full by bringing the head of a gang leader to the city. Such the life was a bounty hunter's, but Teme adored the life of freedom. The days of being kept in the Under were long since gone, and she was happy to move on. As she continued walking down the street, the blond haired woman caught sight of something... It appeared a Grovyle had stopped someone. Like hell someone is going to take my bounty Teme thought to herself as her eyes narrowed. She didn't even know if the man was her target until she finally got close enough to see him. When it happened, she smirked and continued walking forwards with a high stride and a very strong but unreadable face.

Tomorrow we'll rise
Things had suddenly grown quiet. Too quiet, and it set the Yakuza leader on edge. People began disappearing from his view below as time progressed, leaving Kamui behind in an eerie air. The feeling even put Mao on the same edge that his master was teetering on, small sparks dancing over its small body. With a twitch of its ears, it heard the air above them splitting and its head whipped up to see the Grovyle flying down toward them. With a gasp, it whipped around to face Kamui and cried out, only too late as the grass pokemon slashed down on his master.
The one thing he expected to see, didn't fly. No blood? He missed? Mao thought as it fought the urge to hide behind Kamui. Its bravery finally winning over, he ran before Kamui, facing the grass pokemon as a growl escaped its maw, the fur on its back ruffling.
That was the one thing that Kamui hadn't expected when he had made his journey to the slums. His eyes widened slightly as the pokemon slashed down on him and he grit his teeth. Damn! He thought as he stepped back, expecting to see blood fall from his chest. But there was none. Sure, he knew something horrible would happen, but a surprise attack by a pokemon that had missed wasn't one of them.
"Hey, Ace, Stand down."
Regaining his composure as the owner of the voice stepped into view, his Grovyle stepping back next to him, Kamui tilted his head upward slightly. What's this? This man didn't look like he belonged to any gang - at least, he wasn't wearing anything that set him off as belonging to one. But as he knew all too well, one couldn't judge by looks. Yet, the guts that the kid had to attack him like that, whether planned or not, impressed Kamui, enough to earn a smirk from him. "Heh. Nice moves kids."
Regardless to whether the other male was older than him or not, Kamui had himself a habit of referring to almost everyone outside of the Yakuza as 'kid'. It wasn't necessarily an insulting gesture, merely one of unfamiliarity.
Though, it had seemed that their introduction was cut short as audible footsteps were approaching from behind. Turning his head to glance behind him, Kamui caught sight of the bounty hunter. Narrowing his eyes, he felt compelled to groan, but kept it inside. "Well, isn't today interesting..."
so we fight today.

"Heh. Nice moves kids." Seth chuckled a little at what the stranger had called him. Kid? Hardly. Who did this guy think he was? Did he think he was tough stuff with his little kitten to protect him? The trainer wanted to answer back with a vulgar name of some sort. The word faggot immediately came to his lips but he swallowed it back. This wasn't the kind of place to throw insults around. "Thanks, buddy." His last sentiment was spat dryly like a used wad of tobacco. Seth was feeling a bit condescending at the moment.
The trainer looked to the side of Kamui and spotted the approaching woman. "Well who do we have here?" He said with a smirk. His brown eyes watched her come closer, taking in her body quickly to establish her level of attractiveness. Seth had seen better, but he wasn't picky. She was hot enough to have a go at.

Teme outright ignored the other man's comment and stopped forwards. "Kamui, I've come for your head," the blond woman said aloud holding up a guy. Her Pichu instantly climbed up her shoulder and awaited her mistress's orders. "Are you going to come quietly or am I going to have some fun?" she leered sharply. Her entire form was tall and lean, and she was seriously begging for a fight. Her body was now standing at an angle as she aimed the gun. Seeing the other man, she brought up her second gun and aimed it at him. "You. Green haired guy. Leave before I kill you." She hissed.

"Thanks, buddy."
The words were spoken dryly to the Gang leader, and were nearly ignored. Turning his head again to look back at Seth, Kamui narrowed his eyes with a 'keh'. If the bounty hunter weren't here, he'd be more than happy to show the boy that he had the power to back his words up, but the time was not now. The bounty hunter was here for one of the two, and seeing as the boy had no sign of a gang on him, he doubted it was him.
"Kamui, I've come for your head. Are you going to come quietly or am I going to have some fun?"
Bingo.
"Oh, so you know my name, eh?" He retorted with another smirk, turning to face Teme. Although he had turned his back to Seth, he was not unprotected, Mao fiercely protecting it. Placing one hand near his pokeballs, the other falling to rest idly by his hip, Kamui listened to her question and bit back a laugh. Clearly this woman didn't know who she was hunting. "You know the name, yet you don't seem to know the person."
Pulling a pokeball from his belt, he held his arm out to the side and simply dropped the ball. I hit the ground with a click and released his salamence, Cross, before closing and returning to the outstretched hand. Stretching its wings, Cross laid its eyes on Teme and growled deeply. He knew that this girl was after his master. She would not touch him if he had anything to do with it, he would protect Kamui until he wasn't able to do a damn thing.
"Don't get involved with me."
so we fight today.

It seemed Seth had walked into quite a tense situation. This chick wanted this guy dead, and he was right in the middle of it. Seth was not going to be left out, of course. Although he had yet to decide which side he would be on. That could be deliberated further while he watched the scene unfold.
As soon as a gun appeared, Seth's hand was on his. In a flash the shiny black weapon was pointed at Teme. It was a reflex to grab his weapon whenever they were involved. He wasn't going to be caught unprotected, after all. It would be a shame if he had to shoot her, she was moderately pretty. Although, the man doubted that it would come to such desperate measures. Still she had threatened him, and he couldn't just let that go. "My name's Seth, actually." He said with a wink at her, "Now why can't we settle this nicely?"
Ace looked concerned and went to stand in front of Seth in case things got ugly. He would not his trainer get hurt, even if he had to sacrifice himself in the process.

"I'm already involved," Teme answered back leering at the target as he released a Salamance. Upon hearing the words from the other guy and seeing the gun, Teme raised her eyebrow a fraction before returning her attention to Kamui. "And I don't plan to get out. Emma if you wouldn't mind." The Pichu moved forwards and took out a pokeball. Suddenly breaking lose, an Aerodactyl stood ready to fight and grinning like a demon. Poking another pokeball, Emma watched as Teme's Granbull, Angelica, appeared as well. Teme was still holding her position with the guns aimed. She was not about to let this go. "Angelica, flamethrower on the Salamance. Aeirin Ancient power on the Salamance," she said sharply. "Emma keep an eye on that guy's pokemon."

"I'm already involved, And I don't plan to get out"
"Fine then. You've had your warning." He spoke coldly to her as she threw out two more pokemon, an Aerodactyl and a Grandbull. Keh, they were nothing. Moments after the pokemon were released, he heard a familiar click from behind him, a gun. Whether it was aimed at him or the woman, he didn't know, but seeing as Mao wasn't reacting to it, he figured he had no problem there.
"My name's Seth, actually. Now why can't we settle this nicely?"
"Seth, eh?" He couldn't help but to snicker softly at the naive question, no matter if it was a joke or not. "Because the world doesn't work that way..." He looked at Teme fiercely, Pulling the last ball from his belt to release Akatora, his Growlithe. The pokemon stood tall, staring down the grandbull as Kamui continued, "And this girl is either too naive or too stupid to keep her nose out of places where it doesn't belong."
"Angelica, flamethrower on the Salamance. Aeirin Ancient power on the Salamance,"
With a smirk, Kamui closed his eyes, leaning back in a more relaxed state. "Cross, Akatora, you know what to do." He stated simply to the pokemon before Aka opened his maw to release a flamethrower that connected with the one sent from the Grandbull. In the same instant, Cross's eyes began to glow as a spot in the sky began to darken. With a growl, several meteors began to fall from the spot, crashing into the attack that the Aerodactyl had sent at him - Draco Meteor.
Once everything settled down from the first round, Kamui opened his eyes to look at Teme once again, tilting his head slightly, "Oh come now, teaming up on one pokemon? You didn't think I was going to be that easy to take down, now did you?
so we fight today.

Seth watched as Teme's pokemon were released and began attacking. He refused to be left out of a battle. If he was going to pick a side it would have to be now. Despite the fact that Teme was hot, Seth felt that he had to side with a fellow outlaw. "Bros before hoes." He muttered with a grin.
With gun still cocked in one hand, the trainer grabbed at a pokeball from his belt. He wasn't exactly sure which of his pokemon was in the pokeball because he didn't want to avert his gaze from the situation at hand. Either way, he knew that whatever pokemon appeared would be able to dominate.
Seth pressed the center button and from a red beam of light came the steelix he had captured in the northern caves. The trainer appeared pleased with the outcome, Steele was a tough customer. "Steele attack that pichu with earth power." The steelix appeared to be disappointed with his opponent. That pichu was hardly worth his time.
With Steele busy destroying the little electric mouse, Seth decided that it was Ace's turn to enter the fray. "You ready, Ace?" He asked his pokemon, glancing toward him. The grovyle nodded, <I was born ready.> Seth knew his grovyle was prepared for battle, "Alright, then use seed bomb on Aerodactyl." Ace jumped into the air then fired down seeds at the fossil pokemon.

"Man bitch. You had your chance at getting away," Teme answered back to Seth before watching Emma scurry up her arm again. "Emma you knew who to call." The Pichu reached in Teme's bag yet again, and almost instantly, Night, Teme's Dragonite appeared. "Night, we have some criminals. Let's take them down." Night, whose sense of justice far outweighed any sort of calling in life, nodded and looked directly at the Salamance. "Up in the sky, Night! Then use Dragon Pulse!" Night nodded and flew upwards before shooting off a Dragon Pulse at the Salamance. "Aeirin use Ancient power on that Grovyle!" As the Seed Bomb came at the Aerodactyl, she countered with Ancient Power using just enough strength to break both attacks. "Now use Wing Attack on that Grovyle!" Teme ordered. Aeirin complied. "Emma use Volt Tackle on that Growlithe!" Teme shouted. "Angelica flamethrower on the Steelix!" Angelica grinned and complied sending a flamethrower straight at the Steel pokemon. Teme wielded an arsenal of pokemon and worked them well. She was not about to be intimidated by two of the male species.

Seth laughed loudly when Teme called him a bitch. "I think you're the bitch here," He said to her, "after all you're the one who pulled a gun on us." The masked man wasn't going to let this girl show him up, "Why would I try to get away when we're having so much fun." He pointed to the man next to him, "It's too bad this guy's here or we could've had even more fun." He said suggestively.
Steele was amused and irritated simultaneously by the pichu's cowardice. He grinned darkly, <What's wrong little imp? Can't fight for yourself?" He challenged tauntingly. The steelix looked at the dragonite, <Now that's more like it.> He said, <Maybe this dragon is worthy of fighting me.>
"Steele use dig on Granbull then dragon breath on dragonite." The metal snake burrowed headfirst into the ground, through the cracked pavement. While he was under the ground the flamethrower went directly over head. Steele re-appeared underneath the dog and intended on sending it flying. At the same time the steel type aimed a blast of energy at the dragonite.
Ace punted the rocks that were coming at him with several well-aimed double kicks. Unfortunately the super effective wing attack grazed his shoulder. Ace hissed at the pain then slashed at the aerodactyl with leaf blade while it was at close range.

Tomorrow we'll rise
Moments after the moves were called off, something that Kamui hadn't expected to happen, happened. The man who only moments ago was seemingly going to give him hell was standing by his side, fighting off the bounty hunter along with him. Closing his eyes, Kamui smirked before speaking smoothly to the hunter, "You don't stand a chance, hun."
Seeing the Dragonite released and fly up into the air before an attack was released toward him, Cross snorted. He had been given his orders, Kamui knew that Cross knew how to fight effectively on his own, and he would do so. Spreading his giant red wings, he lifted off of the ground and zipped up into the air, the dragon pulse hitting the spot where he had once stood. Flying above Night, he Pulled his wings back and shoved them forward with force, creating a twister that flew straight for the Dragonite.
"Akatora, Flare Blitz."
As the Pichu charged toward him, he opened his mouth and roared as flames burst out around its body, "Grooooowl!" Narrowing its eyes, it took a step froward before dashing toward the Pichu with every intention of hitting it head on.
"Mao."
Hearing his name spoken, the shiny shinx ran around to stand tall before Kamui, awaiting its orders.
"Use Swift on the Aerodactyl."
With a nod, The pokemon dipped its head before tossing it as stars flew out from underneath of it, quickly flying straight toward the fossil pokemon.
so we fight today.

Teme ignored Seth's comment and simply stared darkly back at both of them. "Don't think you're stronger than me. Angie jump and used flamethrower at the ground!" Teme ordered sharply. As the Steelix came up, the Granbull jumped minimizing the damage she was to take on and quickly shot flames at the ground or rather now, the Steelix's head. Don't think you can blow me off ya big metal snake! Angie barked loudly at the Steelix. Night smirked and dodged the Dragon Breath that had been coming at his back and then used his own Twister to negate the Salamance's. He was not about to give in so easily. This was for justice, and he was going to fight for it! "Night use Dragon Claw on the Salamance!" Teme ordered sharply. The Dragonite didn't even hold a second thought before releasing a Dragon Claw and heading straight for the Salamance. At a close range, Aeirin could only half dodge the Leaf Blade, yet she managed it none the less before using yet another Wing Attack towards Ace. She was not about to give up that easily. She didn't even need Teme's orders. As she saw the Swift Attack headed out her, the Aerodactyl smirked and used the Wing Attack she was charging to smash into the stars. It may weaken her attack, yet she didn't take that much damage for it before going towards Ace with her wings outstretched again for the full attack. Emma didn't stop charging with the Volt Tackle and went straight into the flames effectively getting less damage that if she had actually tried to avoid it. However, she was smacked by some of the flames and cried out for half a second before finishing her Volt Tackle. "Fang let's go," Teme's voice said aloud, and a Zangoose appeared from the pokeball. He had let himself out on Teme's calling of his name and was not about to allow his beloved Emma to be harmed. Rushing towards the dog pokemon that was using Flare Blitz, the Zangoose charged with a crush claw ready to beat Aka back. In another moment, Teme pulled the trigger on her left hand gun shooting towards the gang leader.

"Steele, iron tail!" Seth barked out the order and while the steelix was in midair he turned. His glowing tail slammed into the flamethrower, cutting into it and making his iron tail less powerful. However, he aimed his huge tail at the Granbull's head, hoping to bring it down with a hard blow. <Maybe this'll fix your underbite!> He laughed cruelly.
Ace was fast and agile, and now that he knew how the aerodactyl fought he was not about to be hit by the same move twice. The technique was exactly the same as the first, and the grovyle was able to evade it. Just when the wing attack was about to hit, Ace made numerous copies of himself by using double team. While the real grovyle was behind the aerodactyl he used a giga drain.
Seth's attention snapped away from the battle and toward the sound of the gunshot. Without thinking he found that his finger had pulled on the trigger of his own gun. Luckily for the bounty hunter, he had not aimed and the bullet would most likely miss or inflict minor wounds.

Tomorrow we'll rise
Seeing his swift practically crushed angered Mao, resulting in a deep growl coming from the tiny cat as he shifted his paws across the blacktop, his body beginning to glow slightly. Narrowing his eyes and gritting his fangs, the Shinx cried out its name as it released a thunder, electricity dancing over the field toward the Aerodactyl. With his fierce gaze following the electricity as he produced more, Mao smirked, Dodge this you asshole...
Aka made a grunting growl noise as he collided with the Pichu, sparks dancing over the flames that covered his body, giving him minor damage. Shivering at the aftershock, a few sparks dancing over his fur as he cut his Flare Blitz, stepping back from the Pichu with a sharp growl. In a moments notice, he spotted the Zangoose rushing at him, ready to strike him with its sharp claws. Oh come on now, two against one isn't fair... He muttered with a huff, How about I even up the odds, hm? Akatora suggested before using Double team himself. Copies of the orange puppy like pokemon littered the field around the original, all of them smirking. With that, they all opened their maws and appeared to use flamethrower in an arcing motion, but which one was the one blowing the flames that would truly hurt toward the Pichu and Zangoose?
Cross glared defiantly at the other dragon as the winds of the twisters parted, leaving the two hovering in the air. Moments later, the other sent a dragon claw flying toward him, making Cross snort as he used Air cutter to shred the attack to a useless state, Is that the best you- He was cut off as the gun was fired. His sharp eyes focused on the form of his master, forgetting about the Dragonite.
With a soft gasp, Kamui suddenly gripped his shoulder, falling down to one knee as blood began to fall from the wound. The bullet hadn't sank in, thankfully, but it grazed him good, the would was pretty large. With one eye closed, the gang leader looked up at Teme, nothing but a smirk painting his face, "Nice shot, you got me..." He spoke, his tone as cold as ever, "But I'm afraid you just made a wrong move..." His eyes traveled up to the sky to land on Cross, knowing the pokemon would smell his blood at any moment.
And it certainly didn't take long. Releasing a loud roar, Cross tucked his wings in, making a lame attempt at the Dragonite with dragon rush as it sped by, his eyes focused on Teme. Snapping his wings open suddenly before the ground, he rose back up, speeding toward Kamui. Opening his maw, he released a dragon pulse at the hunter before closing his wings, landing heavily before Kamui. DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH HIM WITH YOUR FILTHY HANDS OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU OWN, YOU DIRT! He roared, clearly angered by Teme's actions.
so we fight today.

Watching the steel type move cut through her fire, Angelica seemed to show a sudden sign of irritation on the matter. As the attack came down towards her, she was not about to be outdone. Instead, she simply waited for the tail to come down and then charged up at it with a Fire Fang as she made a move to bite down on the tail with deadly precision. The feeling of the iron tail in her jaw was irritating, but she had stood much worse than that before and wasn't about to give up that easily. As the multiple copies of Ace appeared, Aeirin flew upwards to avoid them all but found herself impeded a bit by the Giga Drain for half a second. Teme's eye narrowed down sharply. "Aerial Ace," she ordered. The Aerodactyl flew up and then down again ready to smash the grass pokemon with the unavoidable flying move. The Thunder from the Shinx came down, yet the speed of the Aerial Ace was already taking into effect, and Aeirin successfully dodged the Thunder without loosing the swing of the move. Emma made a fast double team before charging straight at the flames not caring which one hit her. Charging herself for a Volt Tackle again, the Pichu charged forwards unafraid. Fang hissed and shot off a Water Pulse at the multiple Growlithe bound and determined to find the real one with the attack. Night dodged the Dragon Rush but found it was going past him. He charged after the Salamance. However, in half a second, Teme was hit dead on by the Dragon Pulse. Every single one of her pokemon froze for half a second. The blond haired woman was now laying on the street with her eyes glazed over and a half dead look on her face. "Da-.....m..." she sighed outwards. Now it was Night's turn to suddenly become enraged. The Dragonite flashed forwards in front of his fallen trainer and formed a Thunder Punch and a Fire Punch in his right and left hand mimicking the style he had used in his own battle with Teme. He was not about to let this go. Not ever. Charging forwards towards the Salamance, the Dragonite was ready to knock some sense into it.

Tomorrow we'll rise
Seeing that she would most likely be unable to hit the Aerodactyl, Mao growled and stamped his paw Dammit... He thought and looked around the field to see what else was happening. Seeing that Aka was outnumbered, he rushed forward as the Water Pulse was released. With a huff, he slid to a stop next to his fire type partner and releaed a Discharge, the electric move slamming into the water, sending electrical bits of water through the air. As the bits of water fell, it left Mao glaring at the Zangoose charging at them.
Seeing Mao by his side, Akatora smiled slightly, tilting his head as he looked at the Pichu, readying another Volt Tackle. Narrowing his eyes, he crouched down, using Sunny Day. A sudden bright light washed over the field as the growlithe opened his maw, releasing a Fire Blast at the electric mouse. Narrowing his eyes further, Mao charged at the other pokemon, maw open, fangs sparkling with electricity as it prepared to catch the other with a Thunder Fang.
Using Cross as something to lean on, Kamui stood up, still gripping his bleeding wound as his cold eyes focused on Teme. "You did good, Cross... Thank you." He spoke gently to the dragon type, running his hand down its blue scales, the pokemon making a slight purring noise. Yet, his eyes never left Teme, nor did his mind leave the Dragonite in the sky. Either one could recover in a moments notice and make a move, and he would be ready for them.
Seeing the Dragonite suddenly next to them in one moment, and charging at them in the next with two attacks coming at him, Cross knew he had to protect Kamui. Throwing up a protect as Kamui climbed onto his back, Growling deeply as the Dragonite slammed into the shield. He wouldn't be thrown down by the other damned dragon, he would do his best and he would fight until he fell.
Spreading his giant wings Cross took to the sky again, flying above the Dragonite before releasing a rock tomb and flying higher. You're not good enough, kid, to fight me...
so we fight today.
