It was late.
Very late.

Akira had no idea of the time, but the full moon high in the clear night sky told him that it was well past 2 in the morning... and obviously, that he couldn't sleep. Memories of past events kept running through his head, silently bothering him. He hid it well behind a facade, but he could feel it slowly slipping with the lack of sleep. With a visible sigh, his breath coming out in a cloud-like puff, he suddenly realized that he felt very alone - and it felt very strange to him.

Reaching under his jacket to the belt of his pants, he pulled out a pokeball and released the pokemon within it, Loki the Riolu. Feeling the cool air, Loki stretched, raising its arms high above its head with a soft yawn before looking around. Seeming to notice the late hour, it turned toward Akira, looking at him curiously. Knowing what the pokemon was wondering, the noble offered the pokemon a soft smile before closing his eyes and shaking his head, "It's nothing... just can't sleep."

The two slowly made their way down a hill and into a more densely forested area, Loki stopping now and then to help Akira over patches of ice and iced over rocks when he needed it. Other than that, he knew his trainer was well adapted to the snowy areas, having grown up in the area. Knowing that they were well away from any sign of human life, Loki smiled as another sigh escaped the noble next to him. It was going to be a long, yet enjoyable night.

[Eheh... So many pokemon that Akira wants here. ._.]

Deep into the forest, a Blaziken sat with his legs crossed his calm meditation. He had been in this state for nearly four hours as he tried to clear his mind from the usual stress of the day which included his rigorous training. He was a powerful pokemon, yet he believed that he could force himself to become stronger through the training in the ice covered area. Hearing something not far off, the Blaziken opened one eye and looked off to see someone approaching. Standing upright, he awaited to see what was coming towards him.

[The Dice had decided you shall see my favorite pokemon >.> Ryuu]

[★ Ryuujin !]

Hearing the shifting of the pokemon ahead, Loki paused abruptly, turning its head toward the direction of the noise. Seeing this sudden behavior, Akira paused as well, looking ahead in the same direction as his pokemon. What his eyes found, was a rather large shadow, emphasis on large. He was looking for some powerful members to add to his team, perhaps whatever this was could help.

Slowly moving forward so not to scare it off, the noble finally discovered it to be a Blaziken. With his mouth falling open slightly in awe and surprise, he felt his heart beat quicken with sudden excitement before adrenaline took over. This was it, he wouldn't let this one get away, he wanted this one - it would surely be a valuable partner.

Looking down at Loki, the pokemon nodded at him, Giving the message that he wanted to try and face the larger and probably more powerful pokemon before he sent out Kurosu to do it. Returning the nod before he looked back at the Blaziken, Akira smirked, "Hello new partner." He greeted him before stepping off to the side. "Loki... Zen Headbutt."

With the order given, Loki almost purred as its head began to glow, tilting it downward before rushing at the larger pokemon.

The Blaziken watched as the human addressed him and then addressed the Riolu who used a quick Zen Headbutt towards him. The Blaziken used his powerful legs to jump straight upwards avoiding the attack and remaining in the air. Blaziken were known for their ability to leap tall buildings, and this one was coming close to proving that he could jump even higher than that. Upon landing, the Blaziken used a Fire Punch straight at the Riolu.

With a growl, Akira quickly changed his battle tactics against the Blaziken. With such a small pokemon fighting one more than five times its size, speed and special typed moves would have to be used- for he highly doubted that he would be able to land a physical type move on the pokemon.

"Loki, Double team."

The command was given and Loki slid to a stop in the snow, turning to look up at the Blaziken as it turned in the air, falling back down, flames bursting from its fist. With a smirk, Riolu's image began to flicker as several copies appeared around it, all looking up at the fire pokemon.

"Good, now, leap up at Blaziken and use Drain Punch. Try to hit it straight on."

With the second command given, Loki leaped into the air, its copies not far behind, all mimicking each move that Loki made. Moving one fist foward, it began to glow a deep gold with the move, his eyes focused on the fist of the falling Blaziken, hoping to strike it like Akira had told him.

The Blaziken smirked and formed a Blaze Kick to counter the Drain Punch. Foot met hand, and the Blaziken was off again jumping easily and keeping off the ground as much as possible. The snow in the area was beginning to melt just due to the fact that the Blaziken was awake and moving. He was a very powerful pokemon and would not go down easily if at all for that matter. Using a Sky Uppercut, the Blaziken moved forwards at the Riolu.

[★ Ryuujin !]

Sent flying back to the ground as the Blaziken pushed off of him, Loki's copies from double team faded in tiny flashes. Landing on his feet, a forepaw landing before him to steady him as he slid back in the snow, Loki looked back up at the blaziken, panting slightly. Fire against him wasn't good, he was part steel. But he wasn't about to give up, he wanted to do this for Akira, he wanted to do this for himself. Gathering himself, Loki took a battle stance once again, his eyes never leaving the wild pokemon

"Good job Loki."

The words of praise made the pokemon's courage and pride swell. Akira was happy with his performance so far, that was good - very good. "Ri!" He growled in a response, showing that he was ready to continue.

"Now, use swagger then focus blast."

With the next command given, Riolu preformed the two attacks consecutively without hesitating.

Hit by the Swagger, the Blaziken felt his strength increase, yet now he was dizzy and unable to focus as well. It also made it impossible for him to accurately dodge the Focus Blast. Being thrown back and hitting a tree, the Blaiken flinched a fraction shaking his head. His eye sight still proved dizziness, but his mind was clear. Closing his eyes, the Blaziken stood upright fully again and took a fighting stance before using Mirror Move and coming at the Riolu with a Focus Blast. Despite the lack of eye sight, the Blaiken had a dead on perception of where the Riolu was due to the ability to hear the other fighting type.

Stopping in the snow, one forepaw to balance it better, Riolu glared fiercely at the Blaziken. He knew that with the move he had just used that he had made the other pokemon slightly stronger, but it wasn't enough to break his determination. Loki knew that not only he wanted himself to become stronger and evolve, but Akira wanted it as well. He would use this Blaziken to bring himself one step closer to that point.

"Loki. Do what you think is right."

The words surprised the Riolu. W-was Akira allowing him to decide on what to do? More importantly, he was trusting him to make a good choice. Wild pokemon fight all the time, it was in their nature, he couldn't exactly make a terribly wrong move... could he?

Shaking his head from these thoughts, he looked back at his opponent as he came at him with the same move that he had just used and took a deep breath before closing his eyes. The moment they closed, his body glimmered with a slight silver covering as the move Iron Defense was implemented. With a deep breath, Loki took off running directly for the attack, his iron defense pumping him up. Without a second thought, he dashed through the attack, taking minimal damage before sliding to a stop before the Blaziken.

"RI~!" He yelled out before throwing his paws to the ground, using Earthquake.

The surprise that broke across the Blaziken's face from the Iron Defense charge seemed to vanish after a moment when the Riolu used Earthquake. Knowing that if he was hit with it, he could get knocked out by being part fire type, the Blaziken jumped upwards as high as he could to avoid the attack. However, in the end, he did have to come down and face the Earthquake. The shock of it that went through his legs caused a sudden pain, and the fire bird pokemon half breathed out before looking back at the Riolu and smirking a bit. Such power confidence from someone who appeared so young, the Blaziken thought to himself. He was certainly raised well. Rushing forwards, the Blaziken used Blaze Kick towards the Riolu.

With a smile, Akira continued to observe how Loki fought when allowed to do so on his own. The young fighting type was doing an excellent job, and it pleased him to no extent. The pokemon had heart, strength and bravery. Although it was brave to a point that bordered stupidity, he knew that that bravery would be what would save him and eventually, allow him to become what he wanted to be.

Things seemed to move in slow motion for Loki as the Blaziken jumped. Dammit! He growled, gritting his teeth tightly. He thought for sure he would've had it then, but at the same time, he knew that his opponent was strong. He wouldn't go down so easy. Besides, this battle was proving to be kinda fun.

As realization hit that the Blaziken would have to land eventually, Riolu smirked and watched as it fell back down toward him, flames forming around its leg. well now... Let's try this. Moving one paw over him, the Riolu brought up a shield with the move protect, trying its best to keep it up and the Earthquake going. D-damn... He growled with the struggle of doing so. If I could just land one attack...

The Blaziken jumped and brought the Blazekick towards the Riolu trying to see if he would pull another powerful move or not. His eye moved over towards the trainer for a minute. Indeed if he can train someone to preform in this way.... I may be able to get stronger around him... hm... time to test this one a bit more though...

[★ Ryuujin !]

Seeing the wild pokemon glance at him, Akira smirked, wondering just what was going through the Blaziken's mind. "Keep up the good work Loki, you're doing great."

That was all he needed. With a growl, Riolu broke the protect and stood up straight, dropping the Earthquake as well. If that's how you wanna play, then let's play. Crouching down, Loki pushed off of the ground, flying toward the Blaziken. Pulling its arm back, glowing a light blue. He landed on the Blaziken's leg as it was turned toward him, the flames torching its legs before it pushed away again, taking some damage before throwing an ice punch at the pokemon's chest.

The Blaziken had been hit by the Ice Punch, yet it barely fazed him for he was a fire type. Instead, he simply smirked and used a Double Kick to try and forced the Riolu back as soon as possible. "Come on... where did that extreme spirit go?" The Blaziken asked aloud looking at his far smaller opponent. Give me everything you've got!"

[★ Ryuujin !]

"Come on... where did that extreme spirit go?"

The voice of the pokemon caught the Riolu off guard slightly before he narrowed his eyes with a smirk. "I haven't lost it. I simply wanted to get closer to you..."

"Give me everything you've got!"

"With pleasure..." In too close to the Blaziken to be hit by the double kick, Riolu pulled its fist back once again and made a shot with bullet punch, its fist blurring with the speed and fury of the attack.

Hit with the Bullet Punch, the Blaziken smirked to himself and nodded a bit. "Yes that's it prove you can become truly powerful!" However, in another moment, the Blaziken had returned part of the Bullet Punch with his own Fire Punch stopping the move and then using Sky Uppercut straight towards the Riolu.

[★ Ryuujin !]

"Yes that's it prove you can become truly powerful!"

"Yes, I can!" He growled as the fire punch connected with his stomach. With a soft mewl, the punch sent the tiny pokemon flying out of the way of the sky uppercut and into the arms of a fir tree behind him. Finally coming to a stop in its branches, Loki sat up with a groan, eyes shut tightly, a paw on its forehead. That had hurt.

"LOKI!" Akira looked up into the tree that the Riolu had flown into with eyes filled with worry. The blow that the young pokemon had taken was a hard one, he hoped he was alright.

Hearing his trainers voice, Loki stood up and walked out on the branch, looking at the Blaziken with narrowed eyes, its paws balled into fists, its chest rising and falling with soft pants. "That hurt..." Closing its eyes, it pushed off of the branch, using quick attack to appear behind the Blaziken, "But I won't go down like that! I refuse to!" With that, his tail began to glow as he spun around, attempting to hit the larger pokemon with Iron Tail.

The Blaziken was smashed with the Iron Tail on his right leg, and it all but caused the muscles to twitch in pain. The fire type pokemon was forced to kneel for a moment as he recovered his leg power, and in that time, it left him wide open.

[★ Ryuujin !]

Until the last breath leaves my body,

Landing before the Blaziken, Loki rested his forepaws on his knees for a moment, panting as it looked at the fire type. "You'll make a good partner." With that, he pushed up off of his knees and moved closer to the Blaziken. "I'm sorry I have to do this." Clapping its paws together, he growled before slamming them to the ground, bringing up another earthquake.

This time the Blaziken was unable to jump and dodge the Earthquake. He took the hit straight on and felt the pain of it run through his entire being. Falling over for a moment, the fire bird fought to try and get his feet back under him. However, he found it nearly impossible which added to his own agitation.
