Endless traveling brought the seventeen year old girl to the Serenity Gardens. After an hour of wandering, Oboro decided to take a break at a bench. Her vulpix sat at her feet, grooming herself. She always felt the need to look in tip top shape, her beauty needed to dazzle other pokemon. Or so the vain Vulpix thought. Being bored of grooming herself, she decided to explore. "Vulpix vul." She yipped at Oboro, telling her she was off to explore. And with her nose in the air she made her way to some rose bushes, and sniffed them. Some she made a over exxagerated disgusted face, and others a lovely serene face. The ugly smelling ones got burned with a very weak ember attack, leaving them black and burnt. The pretty smelling ones got left alone, and with the really pretty smelling ones, Vixey rubbed them on her cheeks and tails, wanting the smell to rub off on them and make her smell divine.
With Vixey occupied, Oboro tried to busy herself with writing her journal. She opened the journal, and had it in her lap. With pen in hand, she stared at the blank pages. With a sigh, she closed it and put it to the side. Lately she had been having nothing on her mind she wanted to write about. So with nothing else to do, she stared at a nearby fountain.

Finn strolled into the Gardens, calm and collected. His chin was thrust into the air, but not out of snobbery. He was enjoying every bit of the breeze and sunshine, eager not to miss a moment of it. Beside him strode a young Poochyena, his coat an interesting mix of chestnut and tan. It's blue eyes scanned the ground and it's nose worked furiously. Scenting the Vulpix, it lifted it's head and scanned the grounds for the pokemon.
As soon as he spotted her, Rue dashed forward and stared the fox in the eye. He seemed uncertain whether to start barking in greeting or in challenge, so instead, just plopped down on his tocus. Finn watched the little dog without much interest, following behind at his own pace as he examined the burnt flowers with curiosity.

Vixey was very startled by the sudden Poochyena in her face. She scrunched up her nose, "Vulpix!" She yipped at it. She wasn't sure of what he wanted, but she definitely wanted it out of her sight. She turned right around and sat down her back facing it, sticking her nose in the air, making sure the pokemon knew she was ignoring it. Oboro looked over in the direction in which she heard Vixey. She sighed, Vixey always made the biggest deal out of little things, so she figured that it wasn't very important. And she knew how to take care of herself...kinda. Oboro then reached into her bag and took out her Scyther's pokeball. She let him out for a few reasons. One, he didn't pick fights like her Houndoom, Phantom. And two, he was the only one that could handle Vixey and her self-centered ways. Max greeted Oboro with a smile. Oboro returned the smile, "Go check on Vixey, Max." she told it. Max nodded, and then went to find Vixey.
Upon finding Vixey, Max tilted his head at the Poochyena. He really wasn't sure on what to do, but Vixey seemed to be doing fine at the moment. So he decided to not make himself known to their attention just yet. He took no notice to the other trainer.

Rue seemed genuinely hurt by the Vulpix's bland display of disinterest. His tail drooped slightly as he stood back up. Watching her with waning interest, he threw his own chin up into the air with a small 'umph'. Walking away haughtily, he smacked her muzzle with his bushy, brown tail, and plodded on the path to bark at whatever decided to move. From the clouds to the ants, the world never seemed to sit still, and so the Poochyena's yapping carried throghout the whole garden.
Finn sighed as he heard his pokemon, a bit annoyed that Rue was being a pest. He nearly tripped over the Vulpix on his way over to the dog pokemon, but cuaght himself just in time. His sharp, blue eyes gazed over it's ginger pelt, and he whistled softly under his breath. Crouching down, he smally waved to her. "Well aren't you gorgeous." His white smile flashed across his dark complexion.

Vixey growled, she did not appreciate being smacked in the face. She took a snap at the Poochyena's tail, but missed. She then stood up and readied herself to pounce on the little booger, but then lost focus when she nearly got ran over. Seriously, somebody almost stepped on her. Her. She nimbly stepped out of the way before she could be stepped on, but it seemed the man took notice to her. She glared at him, still ticked that he almost ruined her perfectly kept coat. But when he spoke to her, she lightened up a little bit. She nodded at him, agreeing that she was in fact, 'gorgeous'. The selfish vulpix then yawned as if she was not interested in the man and started grooming herself.
Max chuckled to himself as the Poochyena put Vixey in her place by not letting her get to him. He then noticed the man. The scyther wasn't too sure if he was safe or not, but he kept his eye on him, ready to intervene if Vixey was in trouble. And not too far away, Oboro noticed the Poochyena, and she just watched its peculiar ways with a confused expression on her face.

Finn couldn't help but laugh as the Vulpix agreed. He stood back up as the pretty little fox went back to her own buisiness. Something so well taken care of couldn't have been a wild pokemon, and so he didn't bother to entice catching it. He pulled out a pokeball from his pouch, tossing it into the air a little ways off. A small Poliwag appeared, it's tail flapping flimsily in the breeze. The round blue pokemon puckered out it's lips in question to it's trainer. But if Finn saw this, he ignored it, and continued his stroll down the path that rounded the fountain.
Rue spotted the man, quelling his yapping and dashing over with an innocent look on his face. But Finn didn't take much notice, letting the pup fall in line behind him as his trainers pulled him continuously on. He spotted the dark haired woman on a bench, and his mask of a smile instantly pulled across his face as he neared. "Having a lovely day?" he inquired.

Vixey raised brow as the man walked away. She stopped and 'hmph'd, she didn't want his company anyways. She shook herself, letting any dirt or leaves or anything fly off of her fur. She then took notice that the man was walking to where her trainer was. It wouldn't hurt snooping in on their conversation, right? So she started after him, but was cut off from Max who finally made himself known there. "Scyther, syy!" He said sternly, telling her to be more careful and to not talk to strangers. Vulpix rolled her eyes, she hated being patronized by Max. "Vul!" she argued, telling him that she didn't even talk to them, and that they talked to her. And besides, she was too pretty for them to even be worthy of her time and attention. Max sighed, he wished Vixey would just grow up and learn that the whole world didn't revolve around her. Not wanting to argue with her, he turned around and headed back to Oboro. Vixey followed behind him, already moving on from their disagreement.
Oboro slowly looked up at the man. She blinked at him, he seemed a little overly happy, which she didn't mind, but seemed a little off. "Why of course." she said, not much of any kind of emotion in the tone of her voice. "Who are you?" she asked. Max and Vixey finally returned, and Max took his place next to Oboro and staring the man down. Vixey on the other hand had her eyes on the Poochyena. She still wanted to get it back for smacking her in the face. So she let out a tiny growl and pounced on it.

The Poochyena yip and rolled to his side as the Vulpix pounced him, his ears flat back as he glared at the Vulpix. A growl rumbling threatening deep in his throat, he rolled her off, the went and sat by his trainers legs. Finn watched them, his eyes sharp and cold at the Poochyena even though it wasn't his fault at all. However, his smile never faltered, and he let out a short little laugh at the sight. "Seems like they're getting along well." he joked.
"I'm Finn." he said, not bothering with his last name. Who bothered with last names these days? It's not like it was a wedding proposal, and the girl would need to see if it was good enough sounding to be her own. "And you?" But just as he had gotten the worlds out, his attention was directed elsewhere. A strange glowing happened on his right, and the man looked down to see his Poliwag suddenly change in shape. Arms sprouted from it's sides, bulging into fists at the end. It's lips seemed to evaporate away, and was replaced by two, slit-like nostrils. His legs grew in length, his body seemed to flatten out and loose it's pudgey shape as it filled in with muscle. Lee had evolved into a Poliwhirl out of nowhere.
Finn seemed dumbstruck for a moment, his mouth closed in a thin line as his wide eyes watched this all happen. After a few moments however, he turned back to the lady on the bench. "Well....that was certainly unexpected." his glacier gaze looked over the Poliwhirl with interest. Did they always grow so fast? "Seems to me like your name no longer fits. Let's see...poli-whirl....whirl sounds like Earl. Let's go with that." He nodded with finality to the water-type. (( I got a free evolution as one of my prizes for the ad contest.))

Vixey made an 'oomph!' sound as she was rolled off the Poochyena. She shook her fur of the dirt, and stuck her nose in the air, proud of herself for getting her own revenge. She smirked at it, laughing at it silently as he was the one that got in trouble. She then pranced back to Oboro and sat next to her feet, and staring at the Poochyena, silently dogging it out. Oboro forced out a laugh, "Like best friends..." She said a bit on the sarcastic side. She didn't feel like scolding her Vulpix for what she did, it was rather pointless since it went through one ear and out the other, and she didn't want to hear her gripe and complain.
Upon hearing the man say his name, Oboro looked at him. She really didn't want to tell him her name, but it would be rude if she didn't. "Oboro." She stated simply, not saying her last name either. She didn't care for telling him, and she was sure he didn't care for knowing. Her attention then went to the Poliwag nearby, assuming it was his. She watched the pokemon as it evolved, never before had she seen a pokemon evolve and it intrigued her. When it finished, she looked over at Finn, "Congratulations." She said, she really didn't have anything else to say except that.

Finn smiled at her dull stoicism, not taking it to heart, much like his Poochyena. His mind whirred thoughtfully as he stared at Earl. The Poliwhirl seemed awkward within it's own body, waving it's new arms around it. It didn't seem to really be ready for the change, but it didn't mind so much. Merely curious at his new found power.
The man looked over at the black haired lady named Oboro, not sure how to phrase his request. "I've been waiting for this moment awhile. I've been carrying a Kings Rock on me, so I'd be ready. But to evolve again, I need to trade the Poliwhirl while it's holding it. Would you mind helping me out?" He didn't need to necessarily trust her, she was right in front of him. She couldn't do anything sly right before his eyes. But he glanced down at Rue, his eyes conveying his message. The Poochyena blinked in acknowledgment, he would watch her like a hawk if she agreed. Oboro stared into the mans eyes, listening to what he wanted. She honestly grew attached to the pokemon she had now, she didn't want any of them to leave her. If she did agree to something like that, what would be in it for her? And hell, she hardly new the dude, how can she trust him? After a good minute of staring and thinking, she finally spoke. "I really don't want to trade my pokemon, for any reason. Maybe you should let your Poliwhirl get used to its own skin, and train it some more before you evolve it again. I'm sorry." She said almost in a robotic tone. No feeling, no heart. It came out a little more harsh than she intended, but she couldn't help it.

Finn raised an eyebrow at her as she finished. Who was she to say what was best for his pokemon? His good attitude mask instantly vanished, losing any need for sticking around with someone who wouldn't preform such a simple task. His eyes hardened, and he watched her for a moment longer before speaking. "You wouldn't have to give anything up, just take it, then give it back. But whatever. See yah around, Oooobooorooo." He turned, shoes barely making a sound as he continued on his way out of the park. Rue stuck his tongue out at the Vuplix, turning and kicking up dust on her before stalking away with his nose in the air. Earl seemed to be confused at what had happened for a moment, but trailed behind the other two with a awkward tottering gait.

Oboro almost laughed as she saw his true colors come out. She figured he was a little too overly happy to be true. But she was unaffected by his immature reaction to her kind rejection. "Loser." she said with a roll of her eyes, and loud enough for him to hear her. She really didn't care if he was there or not, she liked it better when it was just her and her pokemon. Besides, that Poochyena of his was being a total brat to her Vulpix. Good riddance.
Vixey on the other hand was mad as hell as the Poochyena kicked dust onto her. She slowly stood up, eyes blazing and ready to rip that pokemon to shreds when she was blocked by one of Max's scythes. She instantly knew that he wouldn't let her, and she slowly calmed herself down. She then shook the kicked on dirt off of her, and then sat next to Oboro's feet and started grooming herself.
