Seth had noticed the cubone and saw that it held the same item as the aron he had captured. He meant to grab that but he had forgotten. Well at least this little guy had gotten a hold of it, "Hey there." He greeted it gently, "That was my friend's," He pointed to the ball, "Can I have that back so I can give it to her?" Part of him hoped that the cubone would just hand it over, but another part wanted to battle with his totodile, Jaws and capture the cubone.

The Cubone looked down at the Iron Ball and then back up at the man. Suddenly getting defensive over his new found treasure, the Cubone backed up and appeared ready to attack the man if he tried to get any closer. Turning his head to one side, the Cubone finally backed up a few more steps before noticing that the cave was shaking even harder right then and there. Suddenly dropping the Iron Ball, the Cubone watched as it was set in motion and rolling back towards the man. Chasing the Iron Ball, the Cubone tried to get it back but found he was too slow for the Ball that was now on a direct course towards Seth.

Seth bent down, grabbed the iron ball, and held it for a moment. It was heavier than it looked. He balanced the shiny black object in his palm then shrugged and pocketed it. Now he had to deliberate what to do with the cubone. He could either fight it and leave it, fight it and catch it, or leave it to find out what the noise was. The noise was more tempting because it was a mystery and sounded powerful. Which was why he chose to walk on and leave the cubone behind.

The Cubone sighed a bit at the loss of his prize but simply wandered on as the mines began to shake once more. The sound was loud in the mines now and repeating at a higher frequency than before. Every few seconds, what could only be described as a rawer could be heard and only projected even more as one began to walk further down the mine.

Seth barely spared the cubone a passing glance. He was far more interested in the shaking of the caverns. Perhaps he should have been more worried, but he wasn't one for caution. He had full confidence in his pokemon, and if they failed to deliver, his gun.
The man reached back and felt the handle of his weapon. Should the source of the shaking prove to be human, pulling it out should settle things. It was a quick way of communication between person to person. He didn't necessarily prefer it, but violence served its uses. Most people understood the language of the gun; whoever holds it is in charge. However, with the trying times many now owned a gun and the advantage it supplied dwindled. Now it was the speed of the gunman that mattered, not the fact that he had a gun.
Seth found his pace quickening along with the rate of his heart. Adrenaline was racing through his blood and propelling him forward. He hoped that at the end of the tunnel was a strong pokemon waiting to be caught.

Just at the end of the tunnel, one entered a a giant room of sorts. The ceiling was far higher here than in the other parts of the cave system, and it appeared in an arch fashion. What was to be seen in this part of the cave? An Onix was battling a Steelix, and the two crashed into each other with the monumental force that rocked the caves. Just as Seth entered this part of the cave, the Steelix rammed straight into the Onix and slammed him into a wall. The Onix, in retaliation, forced himself off thew all and slammed the Steelix into yet another wall. The shaking that occurred continued even more now, and if one was not careful, they could easily fall over.

His brown eyes lit up as they took in the monstrous sight. The noise of the two rock snakes crashing into each other was deafening and he covered his ears. Seth quickly realized that this was a dangerous situation and that should a rock (or one of the pokemon) land on him it would mean certain injury.
The trainer pressed the button on a pokeball in his belt. Bathed in a red glow appeared his totodile, Jaws. The reptilian pokemon looked up enthusiastically at his master. Did he need to fight something? The little water type wondered. At seeing the onix and steelix his mouth gaped open. Did Seth really expect him to fight BOTH of them?
That question was answered as Seth grabbed the totodile around his tummy and hoisted him up. The man rushed behind a nearby wall with his pokemon. He was still close enough to watch the massive brawl, but hopefully he would be hidden from their view. It would be safe to assume that the pokemon were busy with their confrontation and wouldn't pay close attention to their surroundings.
"Jaws, use protect." Seth said quietly down to his pokemon. The totodile obliged and created a forcefield around both of them. Rubble that fell from the rumbling ceiling bounced cleanly off the glowing orb. "Nice work." He commended with a pat on the totodile's snout. Now all he had to do was wait it out. His target was the steelix. The steel type was far stronger than its pre-evolved opponent and if he was lucky, Seth could battle it at its weakest then capture it.

The Steelix was finished with dealing with such a weaker sibling if one could call it that, and with that, he forged an Iron Tail and smashed it straight into the Onix who was forced backwards into the rock. The Onix cried out but then retaliated with Rage. The Steelix dodged this and then used Double Edge directly on the Onix. After that, the Onix fell back and didn't appear to move. The Steelix roared out sharply before smashing the ground with an Iron Tail and causing the Onix to fall through a hole that had opened on the floor.
Smirking to himself, the Steelix seemed to look around as though pressuring anyone and anything into fighting him next. There appeared to be no one, so the Steelix rejoiced with an Earthquake attack that rumbled and shook the cave violently. Smaller pokemon cries could be heard through the cave in sudden fear of being shaken into nothingness. However, the Steelix was having fun... joyous fun.

Seth watched the battle ensue. He was quite impressed with the fighting spirit of the steelix and hoped to direct it toward more useful purposes. Sure, showing off and training at the same time were good things, but it didn't have to be at the expense of the cave. It was a waste of energy to attack without reason, but Seth would be able to tame this beast.
He looked down at his totodile. Jaws would be a good choice if he were battling the onix, but for steelix he needed to bring out the bigger guns. "Sorry buddy." Jaws didn't seem to mind a pass on this one and with a sigh of relief returned to his pokeball.
With a smirk the trainer threw his next pokemon into battle. The tyranitar Chaos entered the cave once again, this time it was to pummel another pokemon instead of just moving rocks. He liked that plan just fine. Chaos was never one to oppose a fight, especially against a worthy foe. Of course, to him, there were no worthy foes because in his eyes he is invincible.
The man decided that when matched up against a steel type, his pokemon should have just as sturdy a defense. "Use iron defense, Chaos." The tyranitar braced himself, his body becoming as hard and impenetrable as steel. "Now follow it up with a fire punch." Chaos rushed forward with surprising speed to slam his fist into the side of the snake.

Upon seeing a new opponent take form, the Steelix smirked amused with someone a tad more evolved than his last challenger. Upon seeing the Fire Punch come forwards, the Steelix used Harden to lessen the damage taken. The fire still burnt him being the steel type, yet not nearly as bad as it would have if he had not used Harden. Retaliating with Dragon Breath, the Steelix aimed it directly at the Tyranitar.

Seth had expected the steelix to withstand the attack. The next time his tyranitar went on offense they would have to lower the opponent's defense first. Steelix's thick hide would be difficult to breach without a good amount of power.
Chaos put his arms up to shield himself, letting that part of his body take the damage. Thanks to the iron defense he had used previously, the attack had minimal effects. "Screech then fire fang." Seth commanded harshly. Chaos screamed loudly, right at the snake's large head then went to bite down on its neck.

The Screech irritated the Steelix and caused him to shrink away for a second. However, as the Fire Fang came at him, the Steelix smirked and retaliated this time with Ice Fang not even bothering to shield himself but simply moving straight onto the offensive.

The tyranitar let the flames consume his whole mouth as be bit down on the steelix's hard frame. He shook his head, trying to inflict as much pain as possible with his burning teeth. The ice fang hit him in the back. This angered Chaos and he struck back immediately with a stone edge attack. He turned his body slightly and let his back-spikes slice into the steelix's face with mighty force.

Hit hard by the Stone Edge, the Steelix was forced to let go but wasn't finished with the attack just yet. No. He'd show this pokemon who the stronger one was. It didn't matter whether fire was used or not. He'd show them! Instead of flinching back of showing any sings of pain, the Steelix simply roared and started a Flash Cannon straight at the Tyranitar.

Seth knew that if his tyranitar was hit by the flash cannon it would mean serious trouble. Chaos was weak against steel moves. A little quick thinking was necessary to get around this, "Use protect followed by aqua tail."
Chaos wasn't nearly as worried about the incoming attack as his trainer. He invited the steelix to try harming him. However, he was driven to obey his trainer and use the attacks Seth requested.

With the Steelix's attack blocked, the Steelix himself was left irritated and watched as the Aqua Tail came straight at him. Instead of defending he simply shot off another Flash Cannon in order to hopefully knock the Tyranitar back. This Steelix was only mildly into defending himself. He was far more ready to knock the other pokemon straight out. He felt the Aqua Tail only a fraction later, and being the ground type he was, the Steelix felt the damage sharply for about half a second.

The tyranitar was sent flying backwards by the rush of the attack. He landed on his stomach and grumbled irritably. He ignored the massive pain that went along with the flash cannon, refusing to acknowledge any weakness. He was Chaos, and no pokemon, least of all this steelix, was going to defeat him. The green pokemon stood up with a menacing roar.
Even though Chaos looked fine, Seth knew that flash cannon had been devastating. The trainer was not about to let his pokemon take more blows like that. He looked the steelix up and down quickly, trying to decide if it was weak enough to attempt capture. With a shrug, Seth threw an unused pokeball at the wild steelix.

The pokeball smacked the Steelix in the head, opened, and drew him inwards. However, almost instantly the Steelix broke out grinning to himself egotistically as though say the words 'and you thought that would watch me?'. Forming an Iron Tail, the Steelix got ready to unleash his attack straight at the Tyranitar. Despite his outwards appearance, the Steelix had taken on damage. However, he was not the type to go down easily, and he refused to lose to that Tyranitar of all things.

Seth frowned and crossed his arms. That steelix had some nerve, alright. No matter, he would try again in due time. Perhaps Chaos would knock it out which would ensure a successful capture. The steelix was coming at Chaos again, this time with an iron tail. Again, protect seemed like the best option, "Protect again, Chaos." The tyranitar summoned its orb of safety once again. "Then use flamethrower." Seth's goal now was to go for ranged attacks which would make it more difficult for steelix to pin Chaos down.

Upon being hit by the Flamethrower, the Steelix yelled out in furry before smashing a few rocks in his wake. Suddenly bursting underground with a Dig attack the Steelix tunneled considerably far into the cave and then back up towards the Tyranitar with even more force than before.
