Garci looked, well, to be a total wreck in comparison to how he does usually. His hair was thrown into a mess, and his face simply showed the expression of someone who had been bawling their eyes out for hours. He didn't look too pretty for the moment, but he had buried his face in Soleh's shoulder anyway, hugging onto her tightly. True, his cling was sudden, but he felt it was necessary. He needed someone to comfort, or at least listen to him, and at this point he wouldn't really have it any other way. It somehow helped that she was, well, soft.
As she patted him on the back, he sobbed uncontrollably. Whatever sort of rational, calm, collected mindset that was in Garci had completely and utterly shattered as he wept. Still, he had to tell someone about his sorrows, to let out all of the anxiety and the pain that was associated with this memory. When Soleh did it, he had no other idea but to provide his own sentiments, for the both of them to help each other. He kept sniffling, holding onto her tighter as he let the rest of his tears subside. A remaining few sobs escaped, as he slowly let her go, drifting back an inch or two.
He remained silent, as he ducked his head into the waters. The heat of the pool absolutely burned,it was a horrid sensation, but he wanted to wash away the tears and the snot. He did so as a means to regain his composure, as his head bobbed up. Even if Soleh wasn't amazing at reading people by emotion, anyone could see that there was still stress within him, even though his face look totally calm. "..Thanks for listening, Soleh," he sniffled out, as he held out his arms to hug her again, a means to show his gratitude. He still held on tight, but not nearly as much as he had before.

He snickered quietly when she heard her fight off signs of seeming self-absorbed, and decided to explain. "I don't think I'd be able to see you as selfish from what you told me, Soleh. Really the opposite. Anyway, I'll tell you. Funnily enough, selfishness is one of the reasons that brought me here, I suppose." He was of the belief that she had opened up to him, and now here he felt he should return the favor.
"I guess I should tell you that I was lying a little about an apprehension towards Ghost-Types. I don't think they're that bad, honestly. But.. If I'm going to tell you why I was sent here, I may as well start from the very beginning. What I didn't know about their parents, the biggest reason behind our family's wealth aside from my mother's status as a wealthy debutant back then, was that they were secretly Pokemon Poachers. It's terrible, I know, but please, let me continue." His expression suddenly shifted to a serious one, regretful, as though he was the one bearing the sin of his family.
"Apparently what had been the most 'profitable' in the black market had been the gem industry. Nobody in the public had the heart to remove these sometimes essential parts of some Pokemon just for profit. I'm not sure what my parents felt about it, either. I wasn't able to tell if they hated it but needed the money, or if they did it like it was a sort of day job. They profited in the business, primarily, of.. Sableyes." He gulped, starting to finally release his pent-up memory. "They harvested the gems from them, and it didn't matter from where they originated. Bred for harvesting, caught in caves.. It was all fair game."
"I didn't know. Honest to Arceus, I didn't.. They gave me one as a gift. I didn't know the whole time that this one was the one they decided to give me as the first Pokemon to really start a trainer career with." A frown crawled onto his face, as he shook his head, looking down. At this point, he wasn't holding onto her shoulder with his hand, he had been leaning on her, as though he would fall otherwise. "You can imagine I developed quite a bond with him. I named him Zafiro, after those sapphire gem eyes he had."
"I traveled throughout the region with him, fighting against other trainers, seeing what Hoenn had to offer to us, even participating in Contests, occasionally. I swear, people used to call me self-centered, snobbish, condescending. It's like when he was around, all those qualities just melted away. And one day, Zafiro looked.. homesick. He wanted to see the cave in Dewford, where, as you know, Sableye are most known for nesting in. I suppose he just wanted to see his siblings." He sighed out his next few sentences as though he was having a legitimate struggle. "I don't know what happened. I suppose the Sableye, knowing the scent of me being associated with my family, were suspicious, distrustful. Things got bad. Zafiro and another Sableye, we had no choice but to enter a battle."
"I know the last move we used in that battle. Power Gem. We missed, hit the ceiling.." It was all starting to come back to him, the situation playing out in his mind as though he were watching a frame-by-frame recounting. "There were way more Arons and Zubats in the cave than I remembered. I gues the lack of Sableyes made more room for more nests for them. We hit a whole horde of those.. damned bats." The sighs went on to sobs. He held onto her for dear life. "They.. they swarmed him! I couldn't do anything. Not a SINGLE THING! ..I.. I just sat there, and watched them. They tore him.. tore him to pieces. I-I grabbed the only thing I saw. A piece of sapphire. I.. I was sure it was whatever was left of Zafiro. ..I blacked out, and I woke up in the Pokemon Center. They took me home to my parents in Lilycove."
"I told them everything. About what happened, about those fucking zubats. ..And as I got finished, there was a broadcast by the Ranger network on TV. Graphic footage about Sableye being harvested for their gems. There was, of course, only one culprit to blame after the footage was leaked. The Garcias. I really don't understand how it happened, but they didn't even get jailtime for it, either. They just got fined for a hefty sum. I'm not sure if it was bribery, or what. But, when I saw that broadcast, I fled. Fled as far as my flying Pokemon could take me. I went wherever I could go to avoid anything that remotely reminded me of my family, anything about the Garcia name."
He continued to cling to her, as he kept telling his story. "The last place I fled to was Mauville City. The security took me, scooped me up, and I was home again. .. My parents, they acted like nothing happened. Like Zafiro was a mistake and that there was nothing wrong with giving their son a Pokemon that was one of the same types that they coldly killed for money. i went back to school. I had to tell everyone that Zafiro's disappearance was related to the scandal. There was nothing else I could do."
"And, just like that, I regressed. I became the monster that Zafiro's presence prevented me from being. I was mean, I was snobbish, and I was self-centered, like how I used to be. Some of my teachers and classmates couldn't take it, and even mailed my parents. Father was furious, Mother was overly praising. It was then my father decided to 'enrich my personality and teach me the meaning of humility' by shipping me to Era." He looked up at her with a lowly expression. His eyes had been a plentiful well for tears, though, in the waters of the spring, it all appeared to be hidden.
"That's why I'm here."

He shrugged, though understanding what she meant. "I can understand that there really wouldn't be too much a point in training anymore. Now all you really have to do is enjoy yourself here, right? The occasional battle or so would be fun, though. I'll, uh, be honest, I don't really know what I'm going to do here. Aside from traveling, of course, but I just don't know what my calling is here. I don't think I can really do a job, and though I'm fine with money, I don't feel like I have a purpose here."
He decided not to go on and immediately tell her, but rather, ask her if she wished to know herself. "I know I asked your reasons for coming to Era, and even tried to ask you to elaborate on them, but, I don't really want to go on with it and say it if you wouldn't want to listen. So, uh.. Soleh, would you like to hear MY reasoning for coming to the region? It sort of coincides with what little I can really do here, which isn't quite saying too much." The fact that she let him stay practically right next to her without any objections at all gave him a generally agreeable feeling, that he believed that he was actually starting to grow on her in spite of just having met him. Whether it was the reality was up to what she had been thinking. ..And, entirely in part of the puppeteer controlling her strings, but that's another story.

He flicked a hand at her, as though denying any lack of self-confidence she showed. This was saying something. "Bah, I think you're wrong. I think you'd be able to prove yourself against her if you met again. Besides, I'm sure a year in Era has at the very least hardened you enough. I suppose it's a logical idea about her changing, though." He decided to drop the subject, and put his hand on her shoulder again. He let her brush it off if she didn't need any physical confirmation, but kept it on as a means of trying to lift her spirits.
"It doesn't matter at this point, though. You're in Era, and you're obviously happier here than there. At least I can speak for one of us in saying that going to Era had been a better move than staying in Hoenn, of course. .. Not that I'm not having a good time here, I just.. miss Hoenn somewhat. There are still some things there that make me want to return, cling to what I had." He went back on focus and crept a little bit closer. "Given how much you've trained, though, how much better of a trainer do you think you are now? Just focus on yourself, and your own skill." He was, of course, curious. Still, with the team he had, and her mentioning that she preferred Fire Pokemon, he probably wouldn't do very well against her if they actually decided to have a friendly battle.

Garci stayed intent on listening for the whole rant, even when she started to trail off and talk about the movie Matilda. Yes, in fact, he had seen it, surprisingly enough. She explained how she acted in her lack of support as a 'mistake' child, and quite obviously understood why she is the way she is now. if anything, she would technically and justifiably be able to blame it all on Flannery, something he would understand. Of course, this would probably involve bringing up her weight, and whether or not he minded it at this point was irrelevant - you just don't bring it up in front of a lady. No matter how cute it made her. Shake it off, Garci.
..ANYWAY, he started. "I suppose I can really comprehend it now, then. I can't believe, that, not only after being considered a 'mistake' by your parents, your sister actually ends up treating you in that way to add insult to injury. That's.. awful. That, and everyone would be against any objections you had to her. You couldn't touch her, could you? And she was flaunting the whole time.." He put his hands together, contemplatively. "When you bring up skill over birth, you bring a point I mention earlier. If she's still the neophyte leader that she acted like when I fought her, then you could clearly do better."
In reply to her going off about Matilda, he mustered an awkward cough. "..Yes, that did seem odd, though. I hated to eat my vegetables as a child. ..Only meat for me, really." Bringing up his diet probably wasn't a good point to make. "I guess it was metabolism or something, but anyway.." He had no idea whether or not what he just said would have no effect at all or if it would open Pandora's Box on him. "Anyway, you were saying something about how you believed they thought Flannery was superior in skill and not birth order, or something to that effect."

Garci nodded. "To be honest, while it does sound a little childish, I can admit a fear for the dark, myself. Especially if one had been alone in the dark. Goodness, that would be even worse. Being uncertain of what lies there, an absolute silence.." He'd been going on and on again. "But, yes. I can at least attest to the fact that I saw them. That whole titanic brawl between those two creatures, yes. It was like a scene out of some sort of apocalyptic horror film." Shuddering silently, he continued. "It even had a climax, with Rayquaza appearing to calm the two. I thought I was going to die that day."
He stumbled on. "..Well, anyway, yes. Still, I don't quite fully understand why you left Hoenn. I mean, I'm glad you did so you'd eventually turn up here, and it must have been awful, to have a sister as bad as you say. But, I just don't see it as good reason for leaving such a nice region." This was the point where he probably should have realized he was going a little too close. A little wouldn't really be able to say enough, because he placed his hand on her shoulder in an attempt to be further supportive, acting like he'd known her enough to offer that much support.
"Because, well, if she really still acts like that as a Gym Leader, you probably wouldn't have that much to worry about. I'm sure you could do better if you tried, if they actually gave you the attention you said they never had." Realizing he had been overstepping his bounds too late, he immediately drew his hand backwards. "...yes, right then." He's not sure if he really regrets doing it, though. Probably not.

Garci nodded, still taken aback by the whole sequence of events. "Could you.. describe what I did, again? I can swear that never happened to me before, but.. for some reason, I have no idea what happened." The memory wiping was certainly successful, but thanks to Layton's noting, his curiosity and a mild sense of fear began to show. He had hoped that it wasn't something that needed to be looked into, that it was just some sort of phenomena or some sort of blackout he experienced. To have something wrong with him would be, well, horrid, in this sort of region.
Lexus started to stand before the Beldum, suspicions mounting. This time, Garci wasn't even noticing her, focused entirely on Layton and trying to know the truth of what happened. She was mostly a passive Pokemon, but she had taken on a feeling that this particular Pokemon was up to something. Something that could do harm. <I'm watching you,> she growled out. Bellator looked down at Lexus and shook his head. <If anyone will throw the first stone, it will be me. I can take care of myself, Lexus.> He looked back up at the hovering metallic Pokemon. <I am called Bellator. Do you have a name?>

He nodded as she shivered by the end of his little story. "That is true, they do look rather cute. I would follow them out of fear of not knowing anything else. The worst part is, if that actually happened, I think I would." She mentioned ador'ble things, and internally pumped his fist in the air. YES. He had so many that seemed to fit the subject. "I have to admit, I'm starting to get a little bit nostalgic about Hoenn."
He leaned back further, making gestures as he talked. Mostly it involved hands waving about. His hands had to do SOMETHING interesting, after all. "There was Fortree City, a quaint, refreshing little place, not to mention that old-fashioned crater, Sootopolis." Remembering Sootopolis suddenly brought back another memory. A fearful one, to be true. ".. Hey, do you remember? About those two lunk-headed, not-so-subtle criminal organizations? How they're apparently related to that disastrous sensation? It was one of the scariest days of my life, honest."
He did show signs of being shaken in relation to that day. "A drought, then flooding rains, a drought, then more rains. I had no idea what was going on, but I thought the world was going to end, honestly. I think all of Hoenn was afflicted. I guess you hadn't seen it if you were in Kanto by then, but.."

Suddenly, whatever had just happened was all a blur to him. Any memory of psychic takeover had been gone to him, but Bellator suddenly appearing to him still proved to be confusing. He responded to Layton, looking deeply concerned. "I don't remember doing anything or saying anything of the sort. .. Still, I wonder how Bellator appeared. He must be able to leave the Pokeball at will or something." Scratching his head, he forgot about whatever issue it was about. "Of course I don't. I'm sure my parents would have noticed before I had even arrived in Era."
Lexus looked at the Beldum suspiciously as he asked Bellator the same question he did to her a few moments ago. She whispered to him, shaking her head slowly. <Don't listen to him. There's something.. off about him. He asked me the same thing..> This is something that Bellator could detect himself, but it was something he didn't quite care about. <My opinion? Why do you want to know?> Even if he asked suspiciously, he would go on to say anyway, <Humans? They help us fight. They guide us. I could do with or without them regardless, but they are certainly useful.>

He started to understand that she perceived his problem with Ghost Pokemon as merely finding them spooky. Of course they were, they can be pretty rotten. Mt. Pyre, though, was a place he could tolerate well enough. The mystery behind the Red and Blue orbs was also interesting in itself. Still, he'd rather not tell her the real trouble unless she had been interested. And if he even wanted to recount painful memories just for the sake of sounding interesting. Rather, he tried to say a little thing about Pyre. "I did encounter a Chimecho. Charming little things, really. They're certainly better than those spooky little Duskulls and Shuppets."
As she mentioned what she assumed to be Litwick - somehow mangling that into a sort of Potter reference (This author thanks the other for saying the Pokemon's name, as he somehow managed to forget it.) He decided to tell her something both interesting and frightening. Imagine a flashlight under Garci's chin right now as he grinned, telling her a little tidbit of information he heard. "Let me tell you a little tidbit of information I heard. They're Litwicks, by the way, Soleh. You see, in big mansions and such places, presumably haunted by ghosts, Litwick appear and pretend to be guides to people who have been lost. While it seems to be in goodwill, they actually gradually absorb the souls and energy of both people and Pokemon who follow them."
"..And worse off, the energies absorb actually become the fuel for their flames. Litwicks you may have seen could have been retaining some of the souls of their poor, poor followers." He grinned widely, trying to inject fear into Soleh. "..That's what I've heard, at least." Ghost stories were always fun.

Garci shrugged. "I suppose the reasoning behind his setting it to a low price will never be found out. I suppose you could presume it mentally deficient if it would be sold for such a price. Mystifying that bidding over it, which I presume you did, would raise for a higher cost than the mere two-hundred pen it was worth. Hm." Something suddenly clashed into his mind. His hand was shakily reaching for his pocket, as though a puppeteer was awkwardly controlling him by strings. Echoes filled his mind, even if it hadn't been transmitted by the Beldum directly. KILLALLHUMANS. His eyes widened, and he started to shake uncontrollably.
Garci's voice started to sound monotone as he pulled out the specially-marked Pokeball containing Bellator. "Let.. me.. show.. you.. my... Pokemon... ..... ... s." Letting him out completely not of his own volition, the Pawniard looked around in confusion. What was he doing at this particularly boring-looking building? Was he getting ready for a fight? He suddenly got into a stance, eyes darting around. Lexus had been dropped by Garci, who wasn't even aware of what he was doing at the moment.
"G-Garci? Are you alright?" She had been concerned, and looked at Bellator, who shared a simliar sense of confusion. <I don't understand, Bellator. He mentioned you, but I didn't think he was going to display you.> Garci regained control of himself, as he looked down at his Pawniard and his Larvesta, the two of them now on the floor. "..Huh? I didn't mean to send Bellator out. What's going on? Did he just.. come out of my pocket?"

He tilted his head, at first not understand what she was trying to say. Was she meaning what he was planning to do later on, after the spa visit? What he was going to do pertaining to Pokemon? "Wait, what?" A moment later, he suddenly realized what she was intending to say. "Oh, wait, I get it. Well, I'm not absolutely sure. As much as I do genuinely like Steel types and the sort of elegance associated with them, I should most likely take care and go for different types. Expand, like you said."
He looked off into the distance, mulling things over. "I don't think I'd go out and look specifically for Ghost types, though." His eyes looked worried, afraid of meeting that species of Pokemon again. "There's sort of a.. shaky history I've had with Ghost Pokemon." Of course he wasn't going to go back into remembering Zafiro. The divine forces that control him had referred to him several times. "Hm.." He shut his eyes and pointed his head to the air, sitting deeply in the spring. Of course he didn't seem to audibly ask for conversation, but his relaxed silence seemed to.

Garci nodded in thought. "I suppose I am not quite able to formulate a sort of name for such a Pokemon. I can tell you I have a Pokemon who does particularly enjoy fighting, and, in such spirit, I named him Bellator. Latin origin, and all that. Supposedly he conducts himself as a respectful fighter, I suppose a 'gentleman' brawler. He fights savagely, but.. I don't know, I think I'm digressing. I suppose Beldum would be apt enough for now. What a rare find, though. I was of the belief that only famous personalities like Hoenn's Steven would only own such Pokemon." He didn't realize that naming Bellator and his personality at all could probably raise some interest in the Beldum, but of course he wouldn't. He's not a bleeding psychic, after all.
Lexus had a concerned look on her face, which grew even more as he stated her uselessness to him. What was he even trying to gain from her anyway? The creature looked suspicious, shady, and scheming. She'd like to tell Garci exactly what she sensed from the Beldum, but fear took the words. If he was communicate only to him, he could most likely do even worse. Garci kept on speaking, to cover for Lexus's absolute silence. "I'm sure Beldum could find something else to do as a sort of outlet aside from battling."

He tilted his head in thought. "It seems that I have a sort of penchant for Electric and Steel type Pokemon. You see, I've encountered several shinies before. Lexus, my Shiny Pawniard, Bellator, and I, were traveling through the old Clock Tower. Something about that seemed.. interesting, seeing as it stopped sometime during the rebellion's establishment. They say that it stopped because Loyalists are no longer in power, and that things had been wrong. Of course, I didn't really believe that. .. Well, I'm losing my point, here." He rambled on, but he had forgotten the point.
"There, I encountered several unique Pokemon. First, we had a bout with a massive Klinklang. He had to have been two times the size of a regular one, and, through a rigorous battle, I managed to capture him. Then, there was an albino Minun I captured. He was a twin of a sister Plusle, and the two of them were watched over by a Pikachu. Some trials through the clock tower later, and they were convinced to join us. When we were walking to the basement, there was an albino Eevee that we managed to catch up to and capture, as well. We had also encountered a Shiny Emolga."
He took this moment to reflect. "..I.. I guess I must have extraordinary and unreasonable amounts of luck." He scooted closer to her, using the need for closeness to communicate more properly as an excuse. "Honestly, I wasn't expecting it. That day was.. well, quite successful." He rubbed his neck awkwardly, and looked back at her, trying not to stare but instead give an amiable, if not admiring, smile.

He thought through Layton's explanation, and could find himself easily agreeing with it. "I understand. Unown seem to be so enigmatic on their own that such an occasion where several of them gather at once and use Hidden Power is most likely very rare. Thank you, Professor." He inspected the Beldum when Layton had sent him out. Yes, something did appear amiss about it. It wasn't just for the discernible eye - almost anyone would be able to notice it if they had been close enough. The thing looked somewhat battered, and what could be considered an air of indignation surrounded it. "He must have taken some abuse. If you need aid in naming him, I could assist." He diverted attention from the Pokemon itself and to its owner. "What could you describe as this Beldum's character, exactly?"
Lexus had suddenly become filled with a perturbed, anxious feeling as the Beldum was sent out. It didn't sit right with Luke as much as it didn't with Lexus. It seemed they both knew that there was something suspicious about it. She jumped back slightly when he communicated to her. It sounded foreign, but she could tell that the Pokemon was talking to her. Garci squeezed her a little tighter as he felt her scratching at his sleeves in her little jolt of shock. '....I, well.' She quickly regained composure. 'My trainer might act crass at times, but he's fine. Silly, and cute when angry. Humans are a wonderful race, though. Why do you ask?'

Garci picked up the Ball, and placed it in his pocket with the other captures. Some of them, he knew, he had to return to the PC. He had too many of them, and he'd have to rid of some and store them. Before going on and on about the confusion about how Pokeballs get transferred to his PC somehow, he notices that the Emolga looked at him. "...Hm?"
Lexus moved toward the Emolga, and tried to reassure her. <I'm sorry. He's still a trainer, of course, this is undeniable. I promise you that he won't treat you the same. You just have to give him a chance. The Eevee didn't, and, well.. I guess Garci wanted to capture him. We were going to talk, but he attacked me.> While she did use Light Screen to try and deflect the effects of the Shadow Ball, she revealed an obvious sign of battering. It didn't appear that she had been wounded too badly, but it still hurt. Oddly enough, the Larvesta was quite fragile. <Go on. All you have to do is tug on his pantlegs, or do anything like that. Just don't be afraid.>

"Of course, I will. I don't think I would allow a Pokemon to try and massage my back out of worry, but if they're trained and naturals at the art, then I suppose I could allow them." Garci also heard saying how much longer she'd stay. Only a day or so more? He just got here, though. Would he seriously consider cutting his stay off early just because she's going n- no, he definitely wouldn't. That would be silly. ..Unless he was convinced otherwise. "It's good to hear that they have areas for grooming and everything. It's always good to look presentable."
He was totally unaware of her worrying about him thinking about her weight, and kept a smile on his face while looking at her. It was something far off, but was he actually starting to find her attractive? The weak-willed grip on grammar, the fact that she was in the shadow of a famous gym leader, and the social ideas on overweight people? Clearly there was something wrong with him. It must be the heat in the spa. He managed to hide any signs of conflict, and decided to ask, "A massage would be perfect for later, hm. While we're here, do you want to talk about anything else? If you can't really think of any other subjects, that's perfectly fine. I.. I mean, I know you came here to talk, but we could just relax here for a while." His voice faltered somewhat. The sentence describing him prior seemed to be irrelevant now, as he couldn't, for some reason, stop thinking about whether or not to cut off his stay early just because she was leaving within a day.

"Ah, the Ruins of Alph." Garci mused, holding his chin. "I've heard about it, but I've never quite gone to Johto long enough to see it. I have seen Unown before though, of course. There is something scary about those Pokemon that I could never quite determine. Perhaps it is the reports on how they have their own system of communication with each other, and that they tend to grow more powerful in a group, almost.. orbiting around each other. There's even been folk stories that I do not remember being dispelled about how they were told to possess their own little 'world', if you will. I am sure you know about them, so, another question I have is, can this rumor be confirmed?"
Lexus scooted about in place, waiting for Layton's explanation. She wasn't any genius on ruins herself, but she does remember the idea that Volcarona and Larvesta alike originate from some sort of deserted ruins in the middle of Unova. The thought didn't sound too far off from the truth. Garci, at that point, decided to ask another question. "And, aside from the Pokemon that you showed during the seminar, are there any others that you'd like to show us? I'm sure they must have some relevance to history, ancient or recent, even history yet to be made.."

When she started talking about how she wished to fly on her Swablu, the temptation was still mounting onto him. It seemed almost too obvious, but the rationalization of the prevention from walking miles and miles was also tempting. He realized then that sounds like a smart enough idea, and nodded back. "Yes, that'd be nice. I don't really have any Pokemon capable of flight, unless.." He looked to Lexus, who he had passed by now. "Well, I hear Volcaronas can fly. But Lexus isn't even the type to battle." At this point, he realized he was drifting toward her, and slowly swam somewhat near her, hand on one of the edges.
"Erm, do you mind if I hang here now? Sorry, I didn't quite realize I was.. moving." If an outside observer could see, it looked like he was intentionally drifting to her direction. This was most likely true. At this point, Garci dropped off any apprehensions about her being overweight and didn't really care anymore. In fact, he just ended up thinking she was cute. He looked to be a little more silent, just looking at her. Tension was starting to dig into his mindset. This is, of course, until he started to speak again. Of course.
It came out as awkward, but he continued on anyway. "How long are you planning to stay at the spa? Honestly, I just recently checked in at the bath house. When I was hearing about the spa, I heard something about things like body-care staff working there too. It sounds like a nice amenity to go along with resting at the springs." With his right hand, he punched into his back softly. "And, as stressful as I described this journey, I could use more relaxation than hot springs."

Whatever she may have believed, the truth was that Garci actually hadn't been a trainer for too long. It was more or less likely 4 or 5 years in, when his 'career' as a trainer had started. And, it was true that Garci did have a strange way with the dice of luck. Hell, who knows, maybe Garci made a deal with the devil and is now teeming with fortune. But that would be silly and implausible and most of all, highly unlikely. But still possible.
He nodded slowly as he heard her talk about her experience as well as the condition of Era. "The people here are certainly visibly stricken by the shift in power. They do what they can to get by, and at this point, it certainly doesn't seem to be enough. I'm at least thankful that my family is well-off enough that money isn't much an object for me. While events so far seem to be at a standstill, I'm sure there's going to be another conflict between those rebels and those loyalists soon enough. Frankly, I'd rather be leaning towards rebel efforts. They seem as though they're the ones that look out for the people over all else."
Garci continued to listen to her, about what had been going on for her in Era. "I'm sure you've met good people in your travels around here. And, yes, I have noticed that there is a far more vast variety of Pokemon here than in any other region, Pokemon from Unova, Johto, Sinnoh, everywhere." He started to think about his experiences in this region himself. "For me, my experience in Unova has been.. somewhat reaching my low expectations."
He was now in the center of the pool with Lexus, still slowly drifting towards Soleh's side. Sighing, he elaborated. "There were some strange things that have happened to me. I've lost three fourths of the luggage I came here with, met an eccentric, puzzle-loving professor of archaeology.. Oh, don't get me started about the trip here. I'm sure it wasn't easy for you, either, but the way here was awful. We were lost and trapped in Wayward Forest, where we met Pokemon that helped guide us toward hot water. Then, some lady who had the most terrible grin showed up and started questioning me if these Pokemon were being truthful. ..I don't really remember what happened after, but a very long walk later, here I am, sitting in a spring with you."
