Lexus's eyes widened as Luke revealed how long the Golett had partnered alongside Layton. "Fifteen years? That must have been quite a long time, time enough to form an insuperable bond with your trainer." She looked to Garci, and, aware that he can't really do anything rather mean to her seeing as they were in the company of a gentleman. "This is how it's going to be for you and I, isn't it, Garci?" He tried not to do anything drastic, but held onto Lexus a slight bit tighter to squeeze her. "Of course, Lexus."
He returned his attention to Layton's artifacts and the ones he had been displaying. He had been at least able to ascertain where each one came from by looking at them, and confirmed them when the Professor stated what each one was. Of course, it was too obvious, as he had been displaying the locations relevant to them not too long ago. "You know, Professor," he started, "These artifacts are all quite nice, but I remember you stating your hobby previously. A sort of attachment to puzzles. I'm interested, now, have there been any artifacts that functioned as puzzles, or any archaeological digs that seemed to refer to them? For some reason, the two concepts seem to be quite a match."

Garci again heard her story. Her odd manner of speaking was something he was slowly getting more and more used to, as he managed to compare what she said to words he could actually hear more properly. Wait, she swam across the waters in Mauville? Her? Again, this is something he would normally like to try and make a point in interrupting, but what was stopping him, he found, wasn't decorum at all. It was something absolutely different, and he wasn't sure if he was okay with the feeling. Rather, he chuckled when she talked about the quantity of Tentacool stings. Those little devils, he hated encountering piles and piles of them and to think about swimming through them seemed funny.
Her story about encountering a true Shiny would have surprised him as well, if he hadn't run into so many back at that Clock Tower. Not only that, but even if it didn't quite qualify as different coloration, there was a much larger Klinklang that he had captured, as well. "I have a few myself, caught two of them, but one I had taken with me on my journey here." Wait, maybe that's what they could talk about to preserve the conversation! There was a twinkle in his eye as he started talking again.
"Stories aside.. Soleh, how is Era for you? I mean, from what you've experienced of this place, what do you think about it? The conflict between the loyalists and the rebellion, the state of how it is now, your experience here, what, so far, is your opinion of this place?" He'd love to tell her all about his zany time in this region, but it would be polite to allow the lady to speak first. If one would be able to notice, he had let go of his attachment to the wall and was starting to drift in the spring waters, relaxing to the point where he didn't really need to tread water. He was drifting toward Soleh's side of the spring, at least half of the way to the center where Lexus resided.

Lexus nodded. "It seems like such a convenient method to communicate to people. It was a frustrating experience, to be taught English to communicate to people like Garci. It must be so much easier for Pokemon growing up to communicate and understand language that both humans and Pokemon use. I assume that you come from Unova, like myself?" Fellow Unovan residents are always good company, after all, and even if he hadn't originated from there, it wouldn't make quite much a difference.
Garci did take it to heart as a patronizing statement, even if it hadn't been the intent. The fact that his point had been argued as both malarkey and convincing were conflicting to a somewhat irritating point, and he felt, unintentionally, of course, condescended to. Rather than react in any negative way, he simply changed the subject after nodding to his last sentence. "Now, Professor Layton," he looked down at the artifacts on the table, examining them each. "Could you tell me where a few of these interesting things come from?"

Garci sighed out in relief, relieved that this dark and terrible secret that was not quite secret anymore was still a secret to her. "N-Nevermind that, then. I'm not so concerned about Ranger activity here, honestly. I left those issues with my family behind." The day their parents had been revealed was the day that everything started to decline. They managed to bounce back, somehow, but he had been absolutely inconsolable about that. It was another story to tell Soleh another day, if by some possibility they kept in contact. Now whatever conversation they had stopped again. How dreadful.
"Ah, erm, before I went off on that little stammer, I was going to say that I could completely respect your decision. That sort of outlook on life seems absolutely fine to me. ..Er, not that you need confirmation." He was practically flopping about in this conversation. He had to preserve the speech somehow. "Soleh, do you have any stories from Hoenn that you remember like that? Of course, it doesn't have to do with dimwitted gym leaders, more over any nice little experiences you have in general." He twiddled his thumbs within the water, tilting his head at her.

Lexus chuckled upon hearing Luke scuttle about behind the table, as well as that silly voice of his. "Hello, Luke, Professor Layton's number one apprentice. It's good to see another Pokemon that by some means can speak human, even if it is through a sort of telepathy." Garci looked down at the Golett. Those silly antics and that silly voice of his, clearly, he believed, must mean that Professor Layton has only one apprentice. The poor man.
"I am aware that Unown do have their own ruins, and they seem to be in several places around the world, but not how they hibernate. I can claim to have gone to many places, but I hear that the Ruins of Alph has a lot of the writing that you have mentioned." He decided that now would be a good time to talk about one of the Professor's Pokemon that happened to be on display. "You know, I hail from Hoenn, myself. There is one thing I'd like to point out."
He managed to sneak one arm free while still holding onto Lexus, pointing his finger up to say something. "I have seen Meteor Falls, and I have seen both Lunatone and Solrock. Mysterious Pokemon indeed, but if there is anything I could assume, they may very well not even be of this world. In fact, Meteor Falls is probably appropriate. Still, it's very interesting, to research exactly what makes them, er-herm, tick, as some would say."

Being an only child, Garci never really understood what it meant to be in the shadow of a sibling. Still, he could imagine the lack of attention could torment someone. "I have to admit, my family.. pampered me. I was an only child, so I received nothing but attention. I suppose it's the opposite for me. I was starting to get tired of being paid attention to.." He shut his lips tight and looked down, muttering something out quietly, something that was just barely audible. "they say I'm spoiled.." Still hearing her story, he spoke again.
"That must have been horrible, though. I can understand why you'd only select those kinds of people to be around. I thought my parents cared too much, see. .. I guess I should tell you why I'm here, myself." He wouldn't speak too far, of course, but his tongue slipped. "If you've ever heard about Hoenn's Garcia family from whatever Pokemon Ranger shows they've been broadcasting, well, you know about my family. .. That's not really what I'm trying to say, though. They sent me here because I guess I was acting up during school." He put his hand over his mouth as he realized what he just said.
The silence struck him, as he realized that he probably said too much, gone too far in a few places. He would have said more about how he'd probably support her decision, but his regret stole whatever other words he had in mind. He had been in the spa with someone with an association to the Pokemon League, and now she knows she's in a spring with the son of Pokemon poachers. How wonderful. "I..." He could only stammer.

Garci watched the whole time, thinking through every point of the seminar. For a moment, he realized all three of these Pokemon were indeed of the Psychic typing. The association of southern jungles to ruins almost proved to be too obvious. Oddly enough, the archaeology seminar proved to show some points he hadn't thought through before. Psychic Pokemon and ruins, a correlation that he hadn't quite seen before. Other good and interesting points had of course been brought up, and he found them both good and interesting.
The puppeteer takes some of the blame to try and lift any feelings of the author being sorry.
Lexus and Garci, after his display, left to the room with all of the display tables. Looking through a few interesting entries at first, they finally managed to make it to Professor Layton's. "Garci, give me a boost, would you?" He looked down at her, and realizing that he is now in front of his new acquaintance, said nothing, picking up the Larvesta. They both looked over the trinkets and objects of artifacts with interest, while Garci started to speak. "Hello again, Professor. This is my Larvesta, Lexus." She nodded at the Professor, saying "Yes, greetings, Professor Layton. My trainer told me about you." "Yes, yes. You know, I at first thought there was nothing for me in the field of archaeology, but your ideas on both psychic Pokemon and their connection to ruins opened something up to me."

During the whole moment where he had been noting her resemblance as well as telling his story, he noticed her face shift from a smile to a more neutral expression, and eventually an even larger smile. He was glad that the story actually managed to brighten her spirits somewhat, rather than dwindle them or put himself in a generally unhealthy situation. Still, he began to wonder, why would she hold that sort of a resentment to her own sister?
He didn't really care that she used a slight shock of profanity, given how much she seemed to react when he had brought up the subject of Flannery at all. "Yes, she did. Talked highly about inheritance, her grandfather, or something to that note. My loss only gave her more clearance to try and act needlessly superior. It was.. odd, to say the least." Of course she must have been her sister, he could certainly notice the similarity in them. His only response was a nod when she confirmed she was the sister of the Fire Leader in Hoenn.
..Wait, really? He was actually sitting in a spring with someone who had a relation with the Hoenn Pokemon League? Granted it was a vague relation, but still! He looked down into the waters of the pool, somehow undisturbed by the presence of a bug larva Pokemon floating in its center. His cheeks had started to become rosy-looking, more or less likely a result of staying within the waters. Deciding he may as well pose the question now, he made eye contact with her again, hand raising up in the water to form an inquisitive gesticulation. "Might I ask, though, why you left Hoenn to avoid her? I can understand that she'd probably be.. unpleasant company to live around, but.."

A time after their visit to the amusement park, Garci, who at this point withdrew Edgeworth back into his Ball, finding the lack of conversation he provided this whole time had shown to be a serious detriment to his mood. The whole time, the only true conversation he had was with Layton, and whatever he had with his thoughts. No, he'd have to rely on more drastic measures to enjoy himself around here, as evidenced by the Larvesta that had now been following him in Edgeworth's stead.
The two continued along the path back to the hotel, talking along the way. Lexus had started the conversation, as per usual. "So, Garci, how was your stroll to the pier?" He hesitated in his speech, still afflicted by that one moment on the Ferris Wheel. "It.. It was good. Edgeworth and I met a professor by the name of Layton, and we are to attend his archaeology seminar tomorrow." "Archaeology? Garci, I would never have pegged you as a fan of that." "Well, there's a lot of things you don't know or don't need to know about me." "Hm. You know, you seem stressed. I mean, more stressed than usual." "How is that any business of you- Don't answer that. I already know what you're going to say."
One stressful hotel night and an early morning later..
Still in similar dress, Garci was among the audience watching his seminar. His hat most likely stood out among the group. The boy still had Lexus in tow, who offered to sit in his lap for space. Of course, he would have none of this, and instead pulled out a stool for her to sit on. The trip to the university had been as irritating as the weather dictated. The whole time, the poor boy had to hold onto his hat for dear life to keep it on and to ensure that Layton could recognize him.
Regardless of his apparent ambivalence towards archaeology, he seemed to be interested in the artifacts and Pokemon that were being displayed. The objects seem to come from several different areas, as said previously, but even the least astute spectator could determine this. He was curious as to their origin, and even more curious about the Pokemon that the professor had put on display. Most of them, he'd seen before in Hoenn, that Unown, the Natu, and the Lunatone. He knew Luke was of Unova, and that he was seen with Layton yesterday, but was more curious about him than anything else, especially that bizarre ghostly voice with an English accent that could hardly be determined.
Lexus watched intently, as she remained on the stool at Garci's side. She particularly liked the Natu - just look at that beautiful design on her. Her strange coloration also gave the Xatu her attention, causing her to wonder exactly what about the bird was the most mystifying thing.

Garci raised his brows in disbelief as she said her region of origin. Sure, it was a long-shot, and it was something he felt he wouldn't ever be able to guess, but finally, he found someone else from Hoenn. It wouldn't be a gentlemanly thing to swoon over it, but he genuinely smiled widely when she said she hailed from Hoenn. This same smile was noticed by the half-awake Lexus, who opened one eye to see his trainer actually smiling, not from a successful capture or any such victory, but out of a conversation. "Finally, another person from Hoenn! I had thought I was all alone in this region." He shifted somewhat in place, making a scooting motion a little bit along the edge of the spring. "I come from Lilycove City, in particular."
As he still looked in her direction, he noticed something peculiar. Her hair, particularly the coloration, seemed to bring up something in his mind. A correlation was suddenly drawn, as he couldn't help but bring it up. "You know, Soleh, something about you looks very familiar to someone I've already seen in Hoenn.." Of course! Why didn't he see it before? He saw a bit of that trainer who allegedly had a fiery passion that burns, none other than Flannery. She wasn't necessarily the greatest of gym leaders, as memory served him. "Yes, of course! You remind me of Flannery." His eyes closed in realization as his smile continued on, as though he looked content.
"Yes, Flannery. Oh, I don't remember having ever seen a more inept leader." He felt that, now that they were gone from Hoenn, it would be a perfect time to gossip on about it. "Yes, if I remember correctly, she wasn't necessarily the brightest of them." He went on to tell a story of his. "If you don't mind me rambling, you see, I did approach a few gyms when I was traveling around, and she was one of their leaders. As memory serves, all she was trying to do was act intimidating, when it just came out as.. well, awkward. .. It didn't really help that I lost the battle, either. Still, I've seen better." He shook his head, the memory still fresh in his mind. He even remembered what Pokemon he used to approach her. It was laden with Ground types, none of which were able to really harm her Pokemon. Even his lead Pokemon failed, and he w-.. Well, he'd rather not delve into that, for fear of risking a small breakdown in front of company.

He listened to her carefully, even though his mind had been screaming at how poor her grammar usage had been. It nearly distracted him from what she had actually been saying, but he managed to get back on track. Something in him clawed away, trying to get him to point out what could be assumed is the clear reason for why others might have something else to do. Yet, something else had been preventing him. Whether it was decorum, chivalry, or something rather different was unknown. Rather, he simply stated, "Ah, I see."
Thinking it over for a second, he continued to look at her. Trying as hard as he might not to stare, he simply made eye contact, and offered a soft smile. There must be something for him to break the ice, something for him to ensure that she wouldn't regret coming down to this little spring to talk to him. Alternatively, there could be something he could say as an excuse to leave and skeddadl- What am I thinking?! That's a terrible idea! That's no way to treat a lady. The self-conflict continued, much to his dismay.
Clearing his throat, he improvised with whatever he could say to make proper conversation. If she was able to hear it very well, his tone was starting to gradually become more and more informal, more friendly now than the cold and less accommodating that it had been. "Of course you're not bothering me, it's always better to have conversation than silence." Rubbing his chin, he asked, "So, Soleh, if I may ask, where do you come from? You certainly don't look like you're from around this area." Internally he crossed his thumbs, hoping that she had been from somewhere, anywhere, rather than here. Kanto, Johto, hell, even Orre would suffice. Erans always seemed to rub him the wrong way. If it had been Hoenn, well, that would be a level far beyond "just dandy." ..That is to say, he'd be very pleasantly surprised.

Finally, something to let the awkward tension break. Garci, hearing what Layton said as a sort of farewell, nodded. Still committing the address and time to arrive in memory, he wondered if he should really attend. Of course, it would be uncouth and very ungentlemanlike to stand him up, but archaeology was.. Wait, he was still considering the possibility of not going? His indecisiveness is crushing him, but he continued on, saying "I understand that you most likely have pressing matters of your own, so I shall see you within a few days." He tipped his hat to the professor and started to walk off.
Edgeworth continued to stare down at the puzzle even as Garci started off. As Luke had been interrupted, he looked up at Layton for a moment, and back to Luke. Shrugging and shaking his head, he said his farewell to the Golett. Again, another very apt and meaningful goodbye. <Farewell.> He waddled off at Garci's side, as the two left off into the night. Still, they didn't stray too far, after all, Garci still has to see the city.
The young man and his blue, big-headed penguin continued to explore the city after passing the Professor and his ghostly golem. Realizing he could very easily forget the address, he had written it down in a scrip of paper, stored in the band of his hat. They had been on their way to the amusement park, oddly enough, a place of childish amusement that was enough to mystify Garci. Lilycove festivals always managed to captivate him, looking at places both high and low from a massive rotating Ferris wheel.
This is, of course, exactly what the two had decided to see first. After paying for their ride, the pair were sitting in one of the booths, as it rode up slowly. Of course, given the fact that they weren't really able to communicate with each other properly, as well as Edgeworth's lack of sociability, it was an awkward, silent ride. However, when the booth gradually ascended to the peak, Garci showed an odd sign not seen by many he knew. It was legitimate amusement and glee, as his eyes shined at the bright lights below and the fairly starlit sky above, and a grin from ear to ear.
It took him back, essentially by force, to nostalgic memories of his beloved Sableye. That too typical, melancholy tear began to roll down the boy's cheek as he realized exactly what he was missing from Hoenn. For whatever it's worth, he had locked the memory deep within the depths of his mind, and there was nothing he saw in particular in Era that was fully capable of digging it out. Holding the safety bar, his hands trembled as he quickly choked away any sentiments or reminiscence of those happy days with Zafiro. Edgeworth managed to notice this tear, and thought nothing of it. It was none of his business, something that a Pokemon like Lexus would be able to deal with more properly.
When they left the ride, Garci still couldn't quite shake away thinking about how things had once been. Taking a seat on a bench near the wheel, he and Edgeworth remained in the vicinity, awkward silence intact.
(You could either have them show up by coincidence or have them do their own thing. Either way I'm intending it for it to end up as a timeskip to a few days later at the seminar.)

Garci was unaware of Lexus's finding of the Emolga, and continued to walk about. Eventually, he would meet the center of the basement again, where he saw the clear victor. Of course, he didn't really expect much else seeing as how the Pawniard had been pumping himself up the whole time. In similar fashion as he did for the Klinklang, he crouched down in front of the Eevee and tapped her with a Pokeball, pressing the button to him in an attempt to capture him.
Lexus giggled as the Emolga tackled her, falling out of the large crack in the wall and onto the floor with the Squirrel Pokemon. The little creature was fun, and she'd imagine that a Pokemon like Lightburst would enjoy her company as another child to look after. She was innocent, playful, and seems to often be in a very cheerful mood. Even more, she was just as adorable as those two twins. Obviously the most logical decision was to have her along for the ride as well. Standing back up, she gave the Emolga a pat on the head and said, <If you want to come with us, explore, play, and everything, you're free to. Just ask my trainer!>
As she said that, she was making her way to Garci and Bellator in the center of the room. Bellator was standing with his blades behind his back, breathing somewhat heavily. Even a full rest couldn't stop him from feeling tired after several battles. While he hadn't been fully satisfied from battles, the fatigue was creeping up on him. Shaking his whole body to stay psyched up, he stretched and looked back up to Garci, nodding. In response, Garci looked down and offered, "Do you want to return to your ball? You look pretty tired." Of course, the Pawniard shook his head quickly, crying out in refusal. The nerve, even believing that Garci could decide when and when not he could stop.

Garci was neither a skilled people-reader nor a psychic. He may have had a few telepathic experience with an Freudian elephant creature but it never really was enough for him to determine how low Layton's disposition had gone. He didn't seem to be quite fazed by the professor's stuttering, dismissing it as excitement. Layton's unintended rambling wasn't something that Garci did notice, causing him to wonder what had been eating away at him, yet he was still unaware of what exactly was on his mind. Of course, he wouldn't bring it up out of fear of coming off as rude, and instead commited the address to memory. "Thank you, Professor Layton. I will make sure to arrive early to see you, so I do not get trapped among the crowd." After Garci talked, an awkward silence perpetuated by one or both of them started to appear.
Edgeworth shook his head. <There is no problem with that. Unnecessary chatter is.. .. well, unnecessary.> He looked back down at the puzzle, focusing on it somewhat. Yes, it was complete, but Luke was right. What now, exactly? Perhaps it was unlike the Piplup, but he offered, <Do you have anymore puzzles involving these shapes that you would like to attempt with me?>

Garci twiddled his thumbs, still letting the ill effects of dumping himself right into heated water set in. There weren't many, of course, but it was a little tough to get accustomed to when you've been skulking about in the cold for so long like he had. Looking right at Soleh, he was at some sort of loss for words. He couldn't tell whether he should show her taciturn for the simple fact she was overweight and everything that he could proudly call a peer had told him this was a bad thing, or to continue talking to her to persist in serving his status as a gentleman. She clearly appeared to be nice, after all, and he couldn't shake the fact that he thought she was cute.
Somehow, her speech still managed to startle him a little. Upon hearing her name, he was surprised. For how strangely foreign her name sounded, she sounded almost.. folksy. It wouldn't fill his mind, though, as he continued to listen to her. ..She called me darlin'. Sure, it was probably a charming little name she gave to everyone she met, for some reason or another, he took it to heart. No, he's got to shake this all off. It's just some nice lady he met at a hot spring, but clearly there was something quite visibly wrong with her. The indecision about how to treat her was killing him, until he remembered a simple credo. "It's what a gentleman does."
Remembering his manners, he decided to offer her the benefit of calling him by his nickname. Not that it was a great 'advantage', but he secretly hoped that this would bring more openness to the conversation. Plus, he hates it when Lexus does it, so it's got to mean something! On that subject (not to digress or anything, of course not!), he realized that here, he should probably treat the grub better here. To act rudely to your Pokemon would probably set off a very poor first impression. Besides, she wasn't up to anything.. yet. Finally, he mustered up the guts to talk back, finally wrestling the will to talk in his formal tone from the clutches of awkwardness. "You may call me Garci, Soleh. Well, er-herm, what brings you to this spring in particular? It is a little far apart from the others, and I am sure there are other people in the springs."

Double Teams? So this was that cowardly Eevee's tactic. Ensure that he can't be hit by creating several clones of himself. Bellator was up to his game, and knew what tactics he should do to viciously reply. Forming a Faint Attack, he had methodically done what he tried previously. He shifted from clone to clone, making a blunt jab forward with his blades. It was trial and error, yes, but he believed he would eventually get to his target. If they had kept doing this, Pawniard thought, he'd be assured that he could make a significant change in the battle.
Lexus stopped counting at twenty-five, and, turning back to watch the fray momentarily, she left the area all for them to fight in. That Emolga seems so entertained by playing these simple games, it's really quite cute. She knew that Garci wouldn't really put much an effort at all in actually playing this game and hide-and-seek. In fact, she remembered only moments ago calling him to be it, and for them to find him. It was an odd idea, but she preferred the Emolga's interpretation.
She didn't really have to look very far, as when she reached a corner of the room, she saw Garci, barely huddling behind an old crate. Pretending to act as though she were still a child in mind and body, she skittered toward him and tagged him with one of her legs. "Found you!" As he got tagged, he yawned and stared down at the bug. Though he knew what all this effort was going to, he wasn't ready to demean himself by playing these silly games. "Come on, let's just go find that Emolga already." They stepped away from the area, and started searching.
It'd be quite a feat to find the flying squirrel. To her credit, she did hide in a very good location, an area teeming with darkness. Lexus adhered to the walls, looking around for a place she would presume the young Emolga would be. Garci, of course, just turned over objects and looked around in areas where he thought these things would hide. The Larvesta, who was the one of the two actually making an effort to find the Pokemon, stopped at the crevice where the squirrel had been hiding. Poking her head in, she 'smiled' at the Pokemon heartily. <Found you!>

Garci continued to sit over the pool of warm water, toes barely submerged by the natural spring. Yes, it was odd. This would be the perfect moment to forget about the possibility of the cold, icy air, and to simply slip right into the spring. Still, he restrained himself for reasons unknown even to himself. As he was about to try and shake his thoughts away, this.. heavier-looking woman approached him.
Don't come off as rude, just be accommodating, smile, be respectful.. Thoughts racked his mind as he grazed over what the social hierarchy of his schooling, his early life, and his manners and decorum had taught him. Everything that told him what was right and wrong was converging at this point, until he denied any harm in her arrival. ..She does look.. in ways, cute. He attempted to rationalize it further to himself by realizing that company was what was restricting him from dipping in. Of course there was Lexus, but...
Lexus continued to float about in the middle of the pool, carefree and unaware of anything else. As the newcomer talked, she looked up slowly and noticed her. Eyes shutting in an approving sort of gesture, she bobbed her head up and down, doing what nodding motion she would be able to in a pool of water. "Of course we wouldn't mind. Garci, you don't mind, do you?"
Garci had nothing to say but to stammer out an immediate response, as though caught by surprise. "Y-Yes, not at all. You can join us." He awkwardly fell into the spring, quivering at the heat but gradually growing accustomed to it. He spread his arms in either direction against the wall of the pool, looking up at her. "..Er-herm. As my Larvesta says, my name is Garcian Garcia. Some call me Garci." He coughed into his hand, still awkwardly, and looked back at her. "Might I ask what your name is?"

Garcian had already accepted the Professor's request, and to hear about professors appearing who had been masters of several other subjects interested him. It's true that he had no interest in one specific field of knowledge, but maybe looking at all these other options would help him. Still, this Layton man seemed interesting enough. Puzzles keep him occupied, as well! The boy watched as Golett set up such a puzzle for his Piplup. "I can see your interest in puzzles have even passed onto your Pokemon, though. The several different subjects in this seminar do sound interesting, yet, I do think I will be attending yours. Of course, I may take a look at a few others, but I'd likely be giving yours the most time."
Edgeworth stared down at the puzzle for a few moments, thinking it over. The Piplup wasn't quite known for being a master of puzzles, but he'd seen a few in his day. These few he'd seen let him know well enough on how to approach a puzzle such as this. He adjusted a few pebbles and sticks, and, if he didn't find them to be correct in solving the puzzle, he readjusted them. This system of trial of error went on for several moments, and not an ounce of frustration appeared on the Piplup's face. He continued his attempts, eventually managing to get it to a reasonable point where he believed it was correct. Going back from the puzzle, he looked at Luke, as though asking him if he had been correct simply with his eyes.

The trip to this fabled promised spa wasn't an easy one. It was, in fact, so arduous, that he'd rather not reminisce it for the simple reasoning that he doesn't quite remember how it all unfolded. It wa all quite a blur, a doubt-filled journey, but the doubt clouded Garcian to the point where he likely wouldn't realize what happened until it all came back to him. The strings tugging him to go along would very much love to explain, but we're starting to divert from what's supposed to be happening.
Garcian started to remove some of his winter padding, removing his puffy jacket and storing it in his suitcase. His luggage had been significantly lightened in his days in Era, and while at first it was most certainly something to write home and complain about, he grew accustomed to it. (Plus, he probably wouldn't be able to send letters back home given how his father Gregor wants him to be self-reliant in this whole growing experience thing.) Placing his suitcase at his side, he looked ahead to the spa. Through the trip (no matter how it ended), he had Lexus at his side, who at this point was probably an unnecessary addition to him. After all, they did just make it to their destination. However, she was an invaluable addition, and he had to admit, he.. needed her, really.
After having checking in at the bath house, he stepped into his room, rolling briefcase at the side of the bed. Lexus rested on the bed, as Garci nudged her slowly with the back of his hand. "Larva, we're going to the spa. You don't have to sleep in the bed and.. get bug-fur all over it." Lexus looked up at him and nodded. "Well that's.. uncharacteristically generous of you, Garci." "Well, being that you did help me and all, beyond the action of heating me up. I suppose even grubs need breaks." Garci left his room wearing a pair of pinstriped boxers, laced up in an oddly elegant silver wool tie.
The two moved to a spring somewhat secluded from others, as Garci sat over it. He had some sort of abrasiveness to dipping completely in the pool of hot water, even though they had made the journey just for this. Whether something was looming in Garci's mind or if he was just afraid of totally submerging into hot water and feeling a momentarily unpleasant heat was really unable to be immediately told. Lexus, of course, was clearly accustomed to such a heat, as she rested comfortably in the middle of the small spring, floating in the center. Her eyes were closed, as she met absolute relaxation.

Bellator stared down the Eevee moments before the Emolga arrived. This slippery little rat wouldn't escape that easily. No, he now has him exactly where he wants him. <Attempt to flee again, and I promise you pain without end.> He was aware that Garcian most likely wished to capture him, but with the previously used Mean Look attack, he may as well try and come off as even more threatening. The Shadow Ball that the Pokemon used on Lexus was the perfect excuse to wail on him. He stepped toward the Eevee, blades ready, until he noticed the Emolga swoop onto the Eevee's head. Is she -with- him? No, she would be coming in for an attack. He remained in stance, prepared for the Eevee should he try anything funny.
Lexus and Garci were panting exasperatedly as they reached the basement. That Emolga was fast, and they were afraid that they would be unable to reach them in time. Luckily, they managed to reach the bottom before the Pawniard was able to start an attack. Garci and Lexus stepped before the Pokemon, as Garcian attempted to try and explain what was about to happen. Having Bellator fight immediately would probably cause the Emolga to be suspicious, and he wanted the two of them. "It looks like Bellator wants to play-fight with the Eevee now. Why don't we go play tag at the other side of the room?" Lexus happily added to the game, saying "Yes, and my friend Garci is it." She pointed one of her legs to Garci.
Garci realized what Lexus just did and grumbled momentarily, but tried to remain childishly cheerful. He started to walk away from the group slowly and talked as he went. "You have to count to twenty until you get to try to find and chase me." Of course, he felt that this was extremely moronic, and had any other humans been around, he probably would have just tried to capture them both through battle. However, maybe playing a game with this Emolga would provoke her into wanting to come with them. Lexus closed her eyes as Garci left into a corner of the basement, half-heartedly hiding behind anything that could conceal him. She had started counting for them both. <One.. two..> This, of course, continued on to twenty, where she left the room to Bellator and the Eevee, actually making a search for Garcian.
Whatever childish rabble had passed by now, and the Pawniard could finally have what he wanted. Private time to face off with what he had hoped to be an actual challenge. He prepared himself, using another Agility to finally reach the limits of his speed, and a Swords Dance to hopefully end this battle quickly. He stood in position, prepared in his regular combat stance. Bellator was waiting for the Eevee to make his move, trying to ready himself for whatever the fox Pokemon had in store.
