The Heat (Open/Mod)

Precipitation dripped and splashed onto the ground as a brown haired woman walked tiredly through the city holding her bag loosely with her shoulders fallen downwards and her entire body looking more limp than anything. She was hot and tired, yet there was nothing the brown haired woman could do. She had used up the last of her money again, and going inside one of the buildings without having any money to pay for anything was against the brown haired woman's code of conduct. Instead, she simply continued on appearing hot and tired.

Alongside his trainer, a Combusken walked through the area with relative ease as though it were a simple day in the park. The brown haired woman eyed the Combusken almost irritated for a moment that he was so happy to be in the heat. However, after a moment, she simply sighed and continued walking. She was not about to scold her Combusken for being happy. However, it still did irritate her a fraction. What I wouldn't give for a glass of water... Nami thought to herself before shaking her head. She could call out her Corsola, but then he would dry out.... It would be mean to do so... She could bear it... Nami hoped.

Tierra walked around happily in the desert city. Alongside her, a Sandshrew walking with a dumbfounded smile on her face. The city was just so big and fascinating for her and everything looked like fun. Bouncing along, Tierra suddenly stopped to look at different shops and what they sold. "Woah cool! Plymmy? Plymonea! Come back right now!" She called out running after her Sandshrew.

Plymonea was just being herself, lost in the sights of the city, not looking or paying attention to where she was going or where Tierra was. Tierra held onto her beanie as she ran, calling out to her Sandshrew. As Plymonea looked around, she suddenly came to a stop with a loud thud, falling down. Getting up and looking around confusingly, she looked up to find she had run into a Combusken.

"Sorry about that, my Sandshrew doesn't pay attention to where she's going" Tierra apologized as she arrived, scooping up Plymonea in her hands, spotting the trainer next to the Combusken. Seeing the woman sweating, looking hot and tired, with a trail of sweat following her, Tierra tilted her head and asked, "Excuse me, are you ok? Do you need some water?" Tierra reached into her bag and pulled out a bottle of water, offering it to the woman.

Ken stepped back a fraction surprised that someone had run into him, but after a moment he just stared and turned his head to one side. "Combus-ken?" he asked wondering what the possible running was for. Nami looked at the little girl and ground pokemon that had almost appeared to magically form right in front of her. Looking at the water bottle, Nami nodded a fraction and took it gratefully.

She felt bad for taking something from a kid, but she was indeed very thirsty. Taking a few sips as to not use it all up, Nami returned the cap to the top of the water and handed it back with a light smile on her face. "Thank you so much," she smiled lightly at the little girl. "Aren't you rather... warm in such heavy clothes, though?" she asked pointing to the choice in clothing.

Tierra smiled as the woman drank, hugging Plymonea tightly. "No no, keep it, I have plenty more." Tierra replied, shaking her hand and head as the woman gave her back her water bottle and proceeded to answer her question. "And not really. Always wore stuff like this, I'm just used to it. But here's not so bad in fact. Outside the city is where the real heat is. Oh and I'm Tierra, this is my Sandshrew, Plymonea. Tierra smiled as she introduced herself, raising Plymonea's paw to wave.

Taking hold of Plymonea with one arm, Tierra grabbed another water bottle out of her bag and took a drink. "So.. She said, wiping away any water left around her mouth, "What's your name?

Nami smiled and thanked her again before looking at Ken who was looking at the Sandshrew. "My name is Nami, and this is Ken," the brown haired woman smiled lightly back. The Combusken nodded a bit and extended hand to either the girl or the ground pokemon. It wasn't entirely proved which one he was extending the greeting to, but that way either of them could take it.

Tierra smiled as he grabbed Plymonea's arm and used it to shake Ken's hand. "Nice to meet ya!" Tierra cheerfully replied as she hugged her Sandshrew. Suddenly her facial expression changed as quickly as if a light switch was flicked off, her face turning all serious. In a lowered voice, she leaned forward and whispered, "So Nami..... Tell me where the treasure is." Tierra stared at Nami in that same position, expectantly awaiting a serious answer. The main reason why she had come all this way was because she had heard rumors of treasure and was asking everyone she met the same question.

Nami blinked in confusion at the question. Treasure? This place was in the middle of an endless sand area! "Uh.....?" Nami answered back blinking and turning her head to one side. "I have no idea....." she finally answered back blinking again. "I have only been in the area for a few days and been in the city even less time than that....."

[Ezio]

Tierra sighed and looked down as her serious facial turned to that of disappointment. "No one knows where the treasure is" she grumbled with a humph, staring at the floor besides Nami. "I'm sorry Plommy, I took you all this way and there's no sign of treasure. I'm sorry..." Tierra whispered to her Sandshrew as she hugged it tightly, starting to sniff softly, with her voice getting teary.

Plomonea just looked up at Tierra and tilted her head in confusion. "Sand?" Plomonea asked as if oblivious to her trainer's feelings and to what she was saying. Suddenly Tierra stopped sniffing and held her Sandshrew out in front of her, staring her in her eyes. "You're right! I can't give up. We will find that treasure. We will look day and night and won't stop until our legs bleed. And Nami will help us and we will be rich!" Tierra squealed as her face lit up again. "Come on let's go, daylight it wasting, let's go Nami and Combusken!" Tierra ordered as Plymonea just stared blankly at a random direction.

The confusion that riddled the brown haired woman's face for half a second left again as she smiled lightly and sweat dropped. She liked the fact that the girl didn't give up, but still.... treasure in this place? Ken was probably the most skeptical for the Combusken crossed his arms and let out an irritated sigh. "Ok..." Nami smiled lightly after a moment. Ken's beak all but dropped.

[Maid Melody]

Further up ahead, a small brown pokemon, almost indistinguishable from its surroundings peeked around the corner, curious about the two trainers as they approached her hiding place. Suddenly becoming very shy, she pulled her head back, hoping that she hadn't been noticed after all...

Tierra suddenly turned around as she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. She wasn't sure what she saw but she was certain she saw something and it was intriguing enough for her. "Wait! Wait! I know I saw something, something but maybe it was a...." Tierra's voice trailed as a light bulb lit up above her head, well figuratively.

Walking cautiously around to the hiding place of the pokemon, all sorts of ideas came popping up in her head. Perhaps it was a legendary pokemon, or a hobo that knew the secret to the treasure! Whatever it was she was going to find out.

[Jay]

The brown haired woman sweat dropped a fraction for she had not seen whatever it was that the little girl had seen. However, after a moment, Ken seemed to go on edge. Nami turned her head sharply and looked through the area. So there was something there? Looking around, Nami wondered what it was and followed closely behind the little girl.

[Maid Melody]

The shiny numel, for that is what the shy pokemon was, heard the girl approaching and attempted to hide from the strangers by backing up, only to realize that it had backed itself into a corner and was now in plain sight.
"Nu...numel..." it whimpered, wide-eyed as it waited for the people to show up knowing that there was no way out than back the way it had come.

Creeping around the corner, her face full of hope, Tierra sighed in disappointment, looking at the ground when she only saw a simple numel. Looking back up at the Numel and tilted her head slightly and she thought for a moment, remembering something about Numels. "Numel are part ground right? Yes they are! I'm going to catch this Numel!"

Placing Plymonea on the ground, she ordered it to attack the Numel. "Plymmie, quick use Sand Tomb!" She called out as the Sandshrew proceeded to attack the Numel

[Jay]

Ken wasn't very enthused when he finally did see the pokemon that had caused him to go on edge. Nami wasn't either and simply shrugged her shoulders. It did have odd coloring, but if the little girl wanted it, she could have it. "Ken just watch," Nami said aloud. The Combusken sighed, crossed his arms, and nodded.

[Maid Melody]

The numel panicked when the sand beneath its feet suddenly became quicksand and looked around frantically, trying to figure out how to get out of this predicament.
Nu! Nu! Numel!" it cried out in a panic before unleashing a massive lava plume headed straight for the sandshrew.

[Ezio]

Seeing the lava plume come straight at her, Plymonea quickly rolled itself up into a ball, using defense curl to raise its defence. However the attack still managed to singe the hide on its back. Still in rolled out in a ball, the Sandshrew used Roll Out.

"Go Plymmie go! you can beat that Numel, I'm counting on you! Why aren't you cheering Nami?" Tierra questioned Nami as she cheered on her Sandshrew, using pom-poms that seemed to appear out of no where.

[Jay]

Nami blinked for a moment and the smiled lightly at the girl. "How about a cheering buddy then, Ken?" she smiled taking out a pokeball and releasing her Shiny Minun. Sparks giggled at coming out and threw up her arms in the air happily cheering for no other reason than to cheer. Ken clapped his hands as well, and Nami watched with a smile before cheering lightly too.

[Maid Melody]

Trapped in the sand, the numel was hit by the rollout, but didn't waste time in unleashing a magnitude. The magnitude shook the ground horribly, affecting everyone in the vicinity of the numel.
"NUMEL!"it yelled, now scared beyond all reason.

[Ezio]

Plymonea's eyes opened wider then she ever thought possible as the Magnitude hit. Hurt by the attack, the Sandshrew hugged the ground before staring at the Numel. "How did it manage an attack like that?" She thought to herself before returning with her own Magnitude.

Tierra slipped as the Magnitude affected everyone. Getting back up, she tilted her head at the Numel before turning to her Sandshrew. "No! Wait! Let me grab onto something stable first!" Tierra called out as Plymonea used Magnitude
