Nicodemus walked along the cracked sidewalks, it's pale cement thoroughly wrecked. Her eyes were narrowed and very aware of her surroundings. Both her hands were in her pockets, her arms avoiding to rub against the round balls that her Pokemon hid in. Her light blue coat kept her somewhat hot, but she refused to take it off. The girl kept walking, trying to get out of this new neighborhood and to the Pokecenter.

Ari was running not paying attention to where he was going. "crap!" Ari yelled as a big man height/with wise was chasing him. Ari thought that this was his final moments of life then saw a corner. he was far ahead when he saw a corner that he turned down hoping to give the man the slip. thats when he ran into someone in a head on collision.
falling to the floor Ari then looked as the man ran by not noticing that Ari had turned. Ari then let out a sigh and looked at the person he had run into. "sorry he said" in a embarrass tone while scratching his head he got up and offered the girl his hand to help her up.

Nicodemus was too intent on focusing on the alleys and streets around her to notice the pounding of footsteps in front of her, a man racing down the sidewalks. A crash found her lungs, emptying all the air she might have held within them. With an "Oof." she landed on the ground, falling hard on her back with yet another blast to her lungs. She let out a silent gasp, gathering some oxygen for herself to concentrate on what just happened. Opening her blue eyes, the gloomy sky focused from a messy blur, her vision clearing. She lifted her head, finding her hands lifting her up into a sitting position. Her back was sore, that she knew. What happened? What had hit her? And of all things that she was thinking, this question rose into her mind. Why didn't I see it coming? Looking up, holding her slightly sore head, she saw a man. He had snowy white hair, his face kind and sorry at the same time. The figure was about six foot, his tall height just about towering over her. He wore a black coat, reaching down to his ankles, or so it seemed. The last detail she noticed, was that he was holding out his hand. For her, she supposed. Pushing her hands on the ground, she declined his offer and picked herself off the sidewalk and onto her feet. Letting her head clear of the slight dizzy fog, she blinked. Returning his smile with a small, weary one, she replied. "It's no problem, we've all had those problems." she nodded off to the direction his enemy had headed. She simply supposed he was being chased. She'd been chased before too, but it never ended in her getting away. She always ended up facing her opponent, too bold to give away the chance of a fight. But she looked down at his hand, taking it in her own and shaking his grasp. "I'm Nicodemus. Nice to meet you." she looked at him, introducing herself. Why not? She ought to get some allies here, it would probably be best for her. "Of course, I wished it was under other circumstances." she joked, almost laughing at the fact that he practically knocked her lungs out of her chest.

Ari felt incredibly embarrassment. "sorry again" he said with a smile on his face. he shook her hand the heard her name. "Nicodemus? nice name mine is Ari" the boy said in a sweet tone. his snow white hair covered his left eye. he looked at her he seemed to be about a foot taller then her she came up to his neck. "pice of advice dont help a lost kid around here unless you want to be beat up by a 7 foot monster" Ari said sarcastically. he looked back making sure it was clear. im safe now he thought to himself then looked back at the girl.

Nicodemus once again shook her head, hearing his words. "Like I said, it's not a big deal." she listened as the man went on. He seemed to be a little uncomfortable, but she understood his situation. She'd be a little set off course in her head if she accidentally knocked some one over. "Thanks." she replied, "Your name ain't too shabby either." Nici said. A smile appeared on her face as she released his hand and let hers hang limp at her side, ready to be in use if something called for it. She saw him look back and could tell he was still wary about his pursuer. "I hear that. I'm tellin you, I can't seem to find anyone decent around here." she shook her head, a little disappointed. But she expected nothing less of this place, she grew up in these kind of areas. The tension was high, the streets were rough, and the fights were fierce. Catching the man's gaze again, she decided she'd act a little more.. nice. She made her mark showing the kid that she wasn't afraid to be a little bold. Or at least... that's what she thought. "Anyway, I'm heading over to the PokeCenter. I'm hoping I might be able to find out where I can go next. Any idea where you're going?" she asked, slightly curious to the possibility of a traveling companion. Even if it was just for a little while, until they reached her destination.

Ari looked at the girl wide eyed. Ari smiled"where ever the wind takes me" he said with a smile. which was true he never made a plan to go anywhere he just traveled. "if your looking for a pokemon center i can take you there" he said with a sweet tone. "its awhile away from here but it is walkable plus it would make up for knocking you over". he looked at her she was around his age he thought to himself it was weird. most trainers were older then him. so he was kind of shocked but he knew from looking at her she was a trainer. and the fact she needed to go to the pokecenter.

A short laugh came from her throat, "Nice. It just so happens I'm the same way." she sighed, looking at the direction her destination might be in. She never guessed that a trainer just might be a trainer because they had nothing else to do. She assumed they were all out to be the best Pokemon Master in the world. ....What an empty dream. Nicodemus looked back, considering his offer. "Sure, why not? I've got no one to travel with anyway." she shrugged. She never took out her Pokemon, not to walk with. Especially when they were in this city. She only wanted them out as a last resort, when they couldn't play or relax. If she got into any serious trouble and was stumped to the point where she couldn't fix it herself, she'd call on them for help. They were her best friends. She took up a little air, filling herself up with some fresh oxygen. And in turn, refilling her confidence. "Right." she began, ready to take off. "So where's this place at? If it's a little bit of a walking distance, I want to get there before night falls." she said. It was time they got going. She was happy to have another friend, but if she didn't get somewhere safe before the moon found its place in the sky, the streets were going to get a whole level tougher. It wasn't like she couldn't handle it. No, she could handle those kinds of problems with one hand tied behind her back. It was the fact that she didn't have time for it that made her hurry.

Ari smiled "follow me" he said happily. he began to walk he had never went anywhere with anyone before. so it was a new experience for him but it wasn't hard to walk and have someone follow. as he walked ahead he began stumbling as blood dripped from his wound above his left eye.it had hit the floor Ari hoped the girl did't notice or at least that she would not be worried about him he hated to make people worry.

Nicodemus waited for her new acquaintance, Ari, to start walking before she followed. She turned her body and kept her head down, to look at her feet for a small moment. She had to make sure she wasn't going to trip on a crack. Though she knew she hadn't fallen on the sidewalk since she was six or seven. But for some reason, new people made her a little nervous, which made her footwork and other movements a little clumsy. As she stared down at the pale gray cement, she dodged a large hole in the rock, avoiding a trip that probably would have cause a scrape or two if she didn't catch herself. Whether or not a new person was there, she always caught her falls. It was inevitable, instinctive even, for her arms to catch herself and bring her back up onto her feet. A scarlet drop appeared right next to her foot, looking still wet. What? She kept watching, keeping a keen eye on the ground to scour the cement for more traces of blood. Another popped up, in the same direction of the first. Where is it coming from? She looked up, tracing the scarlet drops to their source. Ari. She spoke up, not afraid to say something. "You're bleeding." she wasn't worried about him, but if some one saw blood on him, they were likely to get stopped. She had a first aid kit that she built herself in her cheap bag. It was a simple canvas bag with two shoestrings for straps. Just went to show how little money she had and how inventive she could be when she had to be. Within it, she had three Pokeballs, a single Potion for her Pokemon if they ever needed it, and her First Aid kit. That was a small wooden box with medical tape, some cotton, and wrapping gauze. She looked up at the young man in front of her, waiting for him to turn so she could see his wound better. She knew he was bleeding, but she had no clue where or to what extent. Nici was ready to find out though.

Ari stooped and his entire mood had changed. he had become somewhat colder. "i'm fine" he said trying to sound reassuring. "let me guess you don't have a lot of money right?". Ari might have sounded rude right there but he was only trying to think logically. he turned"i don't want to take the little supplies you have". he then wiped the blood on his sleeve. "people tend to bleed a lot from head wounds its nothing" he said confidently. "if it was serious i would have seen a doctor by now" Ari the smiled. come on we don't have long be fore night fall.

Nicodemus was close to freezing. Nothing? It was just nothing? What a ridiculous reply! Of course it was something, otherwise he wouldn't be bleeding. And she didn't care if he was in pain or not, not entirely. He was leaving a trail. Didn't he think that was going to attract attention? She wasn't exactly thrilled about the chance of unwelcome visitors. She shook her head, not taking no for an answer. "Ari, my supplies are fine. Come here, it won't take more than a second to fix." she said, starting to sound like her mother. When she was alive, of course. She remembered the woman perfectly. She was kind and loving, always caring for her and her sister, what ever they might need. She was there for comfort, for emotional needs, she was even there whenever they were hungry. But that didn't mean she didn't teach them any obedience or discipline. Oh no, whenever you did something wrong, she was right there. Right alongside her father. She punished her, usually grounding her from going outside. And she hated that, going outside was her freedom. All the fights she missed out there was like a stab to the heart. Each and every one. Besides that, she taught her to cook. To use every utensil, every herb, ever main ingredient to best extent of its ability. She was an amazing cook, Nici was lucky to have her mother's skills. She could cook up a full meal with little more than a single vegetable and a leaf. She also knew something about medical care. Patching up wounds, cleaning cuts, and knowing what herb to use for what wound or illness. Her mother was so knowledgeable, and she made sure that both she and her sister knew everything she did. It was just too bad that she had to pass away, it was even more painful to think about. She avoided her thoughts, to dodge any other past memories, to avoid any tears being shed. She took off her backpack, setting it on the ground as she crouched over it. Opening it, she took out a small wooden box, holding her First Aid supplies within. She saw his head wound, he'd need it cleaned and a simple piece of cotton and medical tape would patch it up. Ari would be perfectly fine, but he'd need the treatment first.

"we have to keep moving if we want to make it there by night fall" Ari said with a serious tone. he looked at the girl and then around him the sun was setting. he then began walking as if saying hurry up or i will leave you behind. trying to act tough so she wouldn't worry.

Nicodemus looked at the boy, just as if he head three heads. He'd kick their ass? Ha, don't make me laugh! she grew up on these streets, she'd be the one kicking ass, not him. Never the less, she strung her backpack upon her back and held the wooden box in her hand as she rushed to his side. "Listen, I don't think we know each other too well." she started, looking ahead at the streets. "First off, the only reason I'm going to patch that scratch you go up is 'cause someone could easily track you. If they know you're bleeding, they're gonna know your injured. You'd be that much easier to beat. In their eyes anyway." she stated, avoiding a crack in the side walk and kicking a tin can down into the street. "Second, if anyone's going to fight, it'll be me." she grinned looking up at him. "I don't know 'bout you, but a good brawl does me well." Nicodemus boasted, letting out a laugh after a second or two. She kept walking, looking down at her feet as she made sure she wasn't too close to the street. "Speaking of which," she started, not looking back up from the sidewalk, "Where you from, Ari?"

"you will do the fighting, huh?". he then took a moment to ponder her question. "i grew up in a house outside evergreen city" he said in a serious tone. "thats where im from, if you want to know more about me i will tell you. Ari kept walking he thought his life over and decided it was very average.

Nicodemus smiled again, nodding. "I'm as sure about that as the sky is blue." she blinked, looking up at him as he went on. "Evergreen outskirts, eh? Lucky." she shook her head, grinning. She decided not to go there, to that detail. Why was he lucky? She supposed he'd never know, she wasn't going to tell him. It didn't matter, they were leaving this place. "Anyway, I guess I will take you up on your offer." she rose an eyebrow, "First off, how old are you?" she ought to know how old her new friend was, she knew the age of all her other friends down here in the city. Each one of them were like brothers to her. But Ari? No, not yet. She didn't even know him. It would take a little time until she decided they'd even be considered friends. They were currently working their way to being acquaintances.

Nici looked up at him, nodding with her eyebrows raised. "Actually, yeah." she said, fixing her deep blue coat, loosely thrown onto her back. She took her mind away from thinking about ways that he was lucky, it just wasn't worth thinking about. The past was the past, there was no going back. The future is where everything lied, that was all that mattered. To her, at least. Blinking, she went on to answer his question. "No kidding. I'm fourteen. I'll be fifteen in December." she said, her head somewhat absent as she thought up another question to ask. What could be considered important to know about your friend? Family? She stifled a shrug, resisting to rotate her shoulders. It was a start. "Got any family in Evergreen City?" she asked, a little curious, but not to any extent.

So he had family. What a nice feeling, To know that you had someone to turn to, to know that there was someone that would always love you, no matter what happened. She missed that feeling, it was like a sore ache in her heart. Constantly yearning for her family to be back, to be back together. Of course, she knew that was never possible. So, she just ignored that fact and kept moving on. "You grew up some where like here, right?" he had asked, looking over at her. She was currently looking down at her feet, trying her best to chase away the thoughts of her family. His question just helped that much more. She smiled looking up at him, "Ha! I grew up on this very street. I can remember every building in the city and know it's exact location." she boasted, standing up just a little taller as she walked. Then she looked ahead, "The only place I don't know where is, is the PokeCenter." It was true, she had no thoughts or dreams of being a Pokemon Trainer. So, she had no idea or any need to know where a Pokemon Center was. She didn't have any Pokemon, not until now.

"really" he asked in surprise. "it was obvious since your not scared" he said truthfully. "most people are scared to death of this place, those who aren't probably grew up here". the sun was setting they had been walking for a good 20 minutes y now. then Ari said "there it is" as he pointed to the pokemon center.
