There weren't many Pokemon near the entrance, it was true. There were some Zubat sleeping, and a Gligar with them as well...for some reason. A Geodude was polishing itself when Jasmine approached, quickly stopping as she saw the lady, hoping she wasn't noticed.
Finally, they were some ways into the cave, and a few more Geodude and Sandshrew and the like had been seen, with smaller intervals between them each time.
There was a corner in the path, and as Jasmine rounded it, she would find a Mawile sitting in the middle of the path, blocking the way. It was intimidating a small, yellow-green colored Sandshrew. It wasn't easy to tell whether the Mawile planned to eat him, or if she was just having (sadistic) fun.

Jasmine saw the few pokemon, and walked by them. Next to her Hera sighed as she walked on four legs instead of two. In the cave if she stood up it would be harder to walk, and it would also be slower. She smiled at her pokemon, Hera was her first, and the one she had the strongest bond with. Rounding a corner she saw a pokemon sitting and quickly saw that it was a Mawhile looking at a Sandshrew. She heard a roar from Hera, as the Typhlosion stood up on its hide legs. The flames around its neck grew as it attacked the Mawhile with a slash attack. She knew that it wasn't very powerful, but the first strike was just a warning to the Mawhile to knock it off.

The Mawile was very startled by the sudden attack, spinning to face her attacker and hissing. However, upon seeing a Pokemon MUCH larger than herself--especially one with flames sprouting from around their neck--the little orange Pokemon fled.
This left only the Sandshrew there, still huddling in fear--sure, the Mawile was bad, with that snaggle-toothed ponytail, butbut...He, he might have had a chance of escape with THAT at least... But now, the Sandshrew was quite certain he was a goner for sure.

Hera lowered herself back onto four legs as she watched the other pokemon flee. The flames on her neck went down as she looked at the Sandshrew. She slowly walked over to it, 'Your not hurt are you?' She may act all big and scary when she needed to, but Hera was a motherly type. Thats why the fire pokemon thought of Jasmine as her own kid, and protected her with her life.

The Sandshrew blinked as he realized he hadn't been eaten. Erm...what now? As he realized he was asked a question, the hesitated for a moment, then responded. <'I--I'm...okay, yeah. You--you're not going to eat me?'>
As the source of light, or Typhlosion's flames, were closer to the Sandshrew now--even if they were dimmer than before--it became apparent that the Sandshrew's scales glittered in the light.

Hera sighed when the wild pokemon spoke, but looked shocked when he said that she wasn't going to eat him. 'No, the idea of eating or hurting other pokemon is sicken to me.' The only time when she hurt a pokemon was when Jasmine order her too, but she was never happy with it. Even in this dim light, she could see the odd coloring of the Sandshrew, and how his scales seemed to shine. She knew this meant something was special about this one, and she wondered if thats why this Sandshrew was picked out by the Mawhile.

<'W-well, then, uh... th-thank you for saving me.'> The Sandshrew gave a rather weak little smile, still rather shaken from the Mawile. His heartbeat had been rather frantic, but was beginning to slow down, and his ragged breathing began to normalize as well.

Flicking an ear, Hera sighed to herself. The Sandshrew seemed like he was still scared, and she gave him a smile. 'You know, if you want you can always come with me and Jasmine.' Hera was never one to turn down any pokemon if they wanted to come with, and neither was Jasmine. Taking a glance at Jasmine, and then back to the timid Sandshrew she waited for what it would say.

Hrm? The Sandshrew blinked, thinking that that was an odd offer. ...Then again--as he thought about it, he'd tried so hard to be strong, but...he was still as much of a Scaredy-Meowth as ever. He sighed, then responded, <'That--that sounds...really nice, actually. You're sure you'd want me with you? I--I wouldn't like, cause a problem or anything? I mena, my being with you. Of course, I wouldn't, like, intentionally cause problems or something...'> The Sandshrew sweat-dropped as he realized he may have just talked himself out of that offer... oh, well. <'Yeah...um, if you'll still take me, I'll totally go with you, but--if you think I'd be trouble, that's fine too...'>

Hera smiled at the wild pokemon, guessing that he was just a bit shy and all. Over time he would come out of that, and then he wouldn't feel like the way he did anymore. 'Will gladly take you in, and if you make mistakes, its not your fault everybody messes up now and again.' Hera could remember when she was in her first stage how she had messed up all the time, but through Practice she got better, and now was in her finally stage. She looked at Jasmine and a silent message passed between the two. Soon enough Jasmine had handed Hera a pokeball, and the Typhlosion set it in front of the Sandshrew. 'All you have to do is touch the circle when your ready.'

<Wh--? Oh,w-wow. You guys seem, like, re-really nice...'> The Sandshrew was smiling now, looking up at the Typhlosion in awe. <'Thank you, v-very much...'> ...Yeah, the Sandshrew wasn't scared any more, so the stutter was probably something he always had, even if it WAS aggravated by the fear earlier.
He slowly reached a single finger, pointing at the Pokeball. He got very close and almost touched it--hesitated--...he couldn't do it. He wasn't certain why he was scared--maybe because it would be leaving this old life behind entirely? No matter the reason, he just couldn't bring himself to press it, no matter how much he thought it would be nicer to go with them.
However, as a drop of water left a stalactite and plunked into a pool of water some ways off, the Sandshrew jumped in fright at the sound--and in doing so, accidentally pressed the button with his still-outstretched finger.
The ball didn't shake at all before it 'DING'ed.
Capture complete~!
Name: Species: Shiny Sandshrew Ability: Sand Throw Gender: Male Personality: This Sandshrew is very shy (around people) and timid (around danger/whatnot). He speaks with a stutter, and is always second-guessing himself.

Hera watched as the Sandshrew reached for the ball but then stopped, almost like he was thinking it through. Even though it took some time she didn't rush him, and just waited. Finally he was sucked into the ball, and it lay still. Smiling to herself she hoped that he would come out of his shell soon, and would be able to grow. Looking at Jasmine she gave a nod, and walked deeper into the cave.

[[D; I'm so sorry it's taken me this long to mod you again. ;3; Distractions and business and weird moods and Halloween festivities and bleagh. 'x3;]]
Further along the path, there was a Rhyhorn to the left. It seemed to be asleep, and was easily missed, aside from those few times he rearranged his position for more comfortable sleep.
A Gligar perched on top of the sleeping Rhyhorn, waiting for something small to come along. When he saw the light from Hera's fire, he looked up; when he saw its source, his eyes widened and he flew deeper into the cave.

Jasmine followed her fire pokemon as it walked on its four legs, and saw one of its ears twitch. Since Hera didn't react much she didn't think it was worth her time going after. The fire pokemon kept pressing deeper and deeper into the cave her fire making it easy to see where they were going. She smiled to herself, glad to have the powerful fire type as her first pokemon. She didn't know what she would do without Hera and missed having her out with her all the time. But the risk of her being found out was to great, and so she only let the fire type out far from the lab.

Further still, the tunnel-like cave opened into a larger 'room'. There were some Golbat hanging by the entrance, but anything else was too far away from Hera's light to see. At the very edge of the light, though, something seemed to move... Something rather large, and if the loud sound was coming from it, probably Rock-type.

Hera looked up to see the Golbat hanging upside down, but quickly turned her attention away. She had seen something more just out of reach of her light, and swore she heard something as well. Following the sound she wondered what it could be, what ever it was it sounded like it was large.

As Hera approached the source of the noise, a Tyranitar became visible. She appeared to be...gathering rocks, and placing them into a pile. Or at least, she was, before Hera's light reached her and made her shield her eyes. Jasmine stopped dead when she saw the Tyranitar moving some of the rocks in front of her. It was a shock to run into one, but also a great find as well. She watched as Hera stayed on her four legs and walked up to the Tyranitar. She guessed that she would try and talk to it first, but if she needed to she would recall her fire type and let out her Croconaw to fight.
As Hera neared the rock pokemon she smiled, before she stood up on her hind legs. 'What are you doing with those rocks Tyranitar?'

The Tyranitar's eyes adjusted to the light, and she blinked at the Typhlosion before her. <'You see,'> she said, <'They were...all over the place. Messy. Randomly strewn over the floor like you wouldn't imagine! It was so terrible. I--you see, not terribly long ago I was still in my pupa-phase, and I had no arms...It was so--infuriating. But now the rocks are all nice and orderly~ at least, I'm making them so.'>
Upon closer inspection, it could be seen that the rocks were not just in one big pile, but there were several groups of piles--arranged first by size, and also by...possibly shape? It was hard to tell.
