"We'll have to ride those next!" she proclaimed at the teacup rides before continuing to look around rather easily. "Ya know what? I want to be a pilot when I grow up!" Rosa suddenly announced as the thought indeed came to her. It would be so fun to fly everywhere! Then again ._. She could probably just get a pokemon to ride on....naaaaaaah! An actual pilot would be so much cooler! "That way I can fly all around the world and see everything!" she continued after a moment before looking out once again at everything below them. Ah there was simply too much to see! It was after another moment that Rosa's eyes caught a free-floating red balloon that had escaped or possibly fought the system to escape up into the air. However, seeing it actually made Rosa frown considerably. Poor thing D: . Someone had lost it... but it was so pretty flying up and and and and..... "Look at that!" she frowned pointing out the balloon in question to Kitty. Felis found himself chuckling a bit at Ryan's answer before starting to look around at everything outside the window. "I wouldn't mind that, the scenery's nice..." Felis hummed a bit only having partially noted the slight change in wording. "I'm.... just happy that it's all going so well.... the festival, I mean, heh..." After a moment, Felis looked back at Ryan. "You know what? For all Era's been through.... I think it may turn out better somehow in the end." With that, Felis found a cheesy smile coming to his face. [/scrolly]

Kitty sat in awe as Rosa declared her goals. "That sounds cool!" she exclaimed. When she grew up-... ._. Er.. ... D8 Um?? ;-; What was.. she.. About that time, though, Rosa pointed out the balloon, and Kitty perked back up rather excitedly as she pressed to the glass hard enough to rock the cart a little. This startled her a good deal and she squeaked, but as it soon steadied her smile returned and she looked back to the balloon.

"I wish I could fly!" she said, not even realizing the contradiction between that and having been afraid of being so high. Floon tried to help her sometimes, but he just wasn't strong enough; poor thing. He was so sweet when he tried though<3 "It's gonna get to see everything just like you will someday!" Well... Not see.. She did know balloons didn't have eyes but... They still felt like friends, especially considering, "It reminds me of Floon<3"

"It's wonderful," Ryan had commented in response to the festival going over well. Really, he couldn't wait for summer, but he was just glad to see the festivals had been started again. He'd been really disappointed when they'd stopped, and was really happy that Kitty would get to go to some growing up now.

At Felis's later comment, though, Ryan had to give an.. almost-sarcastic "Heh," though it really didn't have quite enough of a bitter nature to warrant it fully. "What doesn' kill us makes us stronger, right?" he asked with a suddenly distant gaze. "Question ain't really if we'll be better.... It's more just..." He sighed. "'fwe survive it'r not.." .... God that wasn't morose at all, was it? He laughed lightly then and scratched at the back of his head sheepishly. "Ah, I think we've been holdin' purty strong though."

At Kitty's words, Rosa's sudden slight sadness vanished as quickly as it had come. That's right! It'd get to travel with and see the world. However, Rosa's face scrunched up considerably at Kitty's words on Floon. "Who's that?" she asked after a moment imagining a rather interesting girl of about their age living in a hot air balloon. Felis failed considerably to suppress the grin that exploded on his features as he heard that it was wonderful. He couldn't help but feel a slight giddy feeling at hearing that it was going well. However, his face somewhat fell again as Ryan continued. At the sudden pick up again, Felis just breathed in and sighed out quietly. For a few seconds, he remained quiet. However, after that, a slight chuckle managed to work itself up in Felis. "We'll all live through it," he finally grinned sticking his tongue out and pulling his eyelids down rather comically for a few seconds before releasing his face again and chuckling easily despite how many knives of sorts were shoving their way through his stomach. "Are you..." Felis stopped in mid sentence and suddenly found himself questioning whether or not he actually wanted to ask that question. No... he'd just ... "Oh never mind." [/scrolly]

Kitty blinked. "Hm? ..Oh!" She didn't have any Pokemon out today, did she? "He's Floon!" she announced with a silly laugh as she tossed down the PokeBall. Floon wasn't big enough or heavy enough to mess with the cart right? Right! In a little flash of light, a Drifloon appeared. The round reaper was feeling as bitter and annoyed as usual until-- @__@ His eyes set firmly on Rosa as a ravenous hunger welled up inside him. This.... THIS girl... He had to have her. Looking back at Kitty, then to Rosa, and back again, he mentally nodded. Yes. He'd still have his little trainer, but now he needed them both. Two souls that felt so scarred, yet still so pure... He would take them....~ "Floon is one of my very best friends<3" :3

Ryan suddenly went rather tense as his face attempted to camoflauge itself against his hair. "....My what??" he asked a little too quickly, as evidenced by the fact that had actually been meant as 'am I' rather than the slur it came out as. Some whimsical little voice deep down finished Felis's sentence with something that would have made Ryan giddy, except far more of him kept turning to negative things. He's figurin' out I'm a rebel isn' 'e? Ah God er that my past was so rough er... Agh he's not gonna want me 'round Rosa er-- AH NO he's just gonna change his mind about wan'in' ta hang out with me 'tall naaahhhhh.. ;-;

"WOW! He's sooooo cool!" she grinned staring at him with shimmering green eyes. The girl in the hot air balloon had been discarded completely. This was a balloon! er... Balloon pokemon ... er...something. Reaching up, Rosa made to poke Floon more or less to see if he was real. "What type is she?" Rosa asked not even realizing she was slightly sliding around on an ambiguity of gender. Felis hesitated a moment and rubbed the back of his neck. "Ah I was..wondering if you were from around here or planned to stick around after the festival was over," he grinned and sweat dropped a little realizing it was kind of silly to have hesitated the way he had. Floon twitched horridly as the insolent child prodded him with her likely-filthy little hand. "Floon's a boy," Kitty commented casually. "And ah.. Ryan said he's Ghost and Fly types~" She giggled a bit. "He's a Drifloon!<3" Such screeching voices... .__. WAIT where were they?? Looking around, he suddenly realized they were in a Ferris wheel of all things and--<3 Suddenly ecstatic, Floon began to ram the sides of the cart back and forth, rocking it in attempt to send the metal death trap hurdling toward the ground below.

After an initial shriek and bracing herself, however, Kitty looked suddenly sad. "Floon??" ;-; Aww the poor thing, she hadn't even thought! "I don't think he likes tight places!" she explained to Rosa, reaching for his PokeBall. He'd done this before in some places, after all. ..Wait WHAT? NO put that thing away! No! NOOOOOO--- Floon was sucked back into his spherical prison, then, and things settled once again, causing Kitty to sigh contently.

Ryan blinked a bit a straightened up a bit. "..OH." Oh yeah well that made-.. of course he was going to ask something like that. Anyway. "Uh, no I'm from out west origin'ly... But ah.. heh.. Kitty an' I travel ever since... yeah.." His mood dampened, but only for a moment. More a 'yeah just avoiding that' than getting touchy or anything. In his mind, asking about after the festival had been meant as 'after hours', not long term, though there were really equal odds of Felis having meant either as far as he knew. "But uh.. Sure, I guess? What time d'things start settlin' down?" Naturally it'd be a little more fun hanging out when he wasn't having to simultaneously keep an eye on everything, right? .... Or... .///. he'd assumed that was all he meant but.. Ryan had to avert his gaze a bit to keep from blushing too much at the thought there may have been anything else in Felis's mind.. Of course he had Miguel right? Yeah. Of course there wouldn't be..

"Oh wow! He's like Sheryl and Chester and some more of my friends!" she grinned after a moment reaching to try and find her pokeballs only to remember she had left them back at the castle. Well... oh well! She'd show Kitty later right? Yep of course. A high pitched squeak of sorts echoed out of the young girl when the cart began to rock, and for a few seconds, Rosa clung to her chair and looked fearfully at Floon. However, as Kitty explained, Rosa nodded. Oooh~ That made sense o3o Maybe he was afraid he'd get popped in here. Yes that had to be it! He was a balloon after all. "Heeey..." Rosa said after a moment remembering once when her ghost pokemon had fazed through a wall. o.O Maybe he couldn't do it D: Maybe that was why he really wanted out or something? All this, of course, remained in Rosa's head, and so it was left slightly odd what she was 'hey'ing about. Felis opened his mouth but closed it as he thought over when the end of the actual festival was. "Oh yes, it's supposed to settle down around July-ish somewhere," he answered back remembering that Aki-...... Ya that struck a chord Felis didn't quite want hit, and the blond haired man squirmed just a bit sucking in air and rubbing the back of his head before leaning all the way back in his seat. "By then the Summer Festival is due to pick up..." he murmured a bit after that. [/scrolly]

Kitty technically noticed the 'hey', but in the middle of trying to figure out what it could have meant something down below caught her eye, and she just let out an awed "Ahh.." as the previous thought went forgotten. So many things they were going to have to see after this... Mmmm... oh! She was thinking about something, uh.. Something to do with Rosa? Hm... Ooh that'd work too. "Do you have lots o' Pokemon then?"

...OH he'd meant like way off-- hm? The sudden change in demeanor did not go unnoticed, but neither was Ryan exactly sure what may have spawned it or how to ask without prying. Maybe.. he just didn't want his turn to be over? It had to be the first time he'd ever hosted it, after all... Or... surely he didn't just hate summer or something. Mmm... ah... Well he didn't want to seem totally insensitive, right? "...You okay?" he finally asked, deciding that was casual enough.

"Oh yeah! I have a lot of 'em!" she said rather proudly for a moment. "But... they're back that way," she said pointing out towards the castle again that was actually getting ... bigger? Oh wait not the Ferris Wheel was descending, yes that's what it was! Felis blinked and forced something of a nervous laugh at the question. "I'm alright... I just got to thinking of a friend was all," he mused a little shrugging his shoulders and trying to be fine with it all. "Oh right, so you're from the west... which city?" he asked more or less actually just trying to steer the conversation away from his previous thoughts and settling them on Ryan instead. [/scrolly]

Kitty still couldn't get over how awesome the castle was each time she looked at it, staring and nodding in amazement. "I see," she said, nodding a few times. "What kinds??" Pokemon were always fun! All of them, always! "I only have some now, but Ryan says we're gonna catch lots and lots together!" she exclaimed with a giggle, rocking a bit in her seat.

Ryan blinked at the response. ...A friend? Whatever that meant, apparently he didn't want to talk about it, but the redhead couldn't help but worry a bit about the way he said it. Someone he'd lost maybe-- perhaps someone in his family? Or... Ryan wondered if that was how he looked when he was thinking of-- Ack don't go there, he mentally scolded himself. He really had to stop reflect himself so much onto poor Felis. He wanted to get to know this interesting noble, not mentally turn him into a clone of himself. Yeah.. Just.. talk to him. Okay.

"Eh.. Not really 'city' so much 's a small settlement," he answered. "But I guess it 'skin'a close ta Wharf. ..A kin'a far-off suburb o' it maybe? Southa there an' perty close ta th'beach, anyway. Heh." And now... Well he didn't suppose he could ask about where Felis was from, could he? So then... ah! Perking up a bit, he tilted his head and gave a light smile. "Ya ever been ta one?" The beach was great, after all!

"And I've been to the mainland beach a few times," he added after a quick second of thought. "The water is beautiful~ I caught a Milotic in the West..." Ah yes, there were quite beautiful water pokemon. Milotic were divine pokemon akin to the beauty of grass types. Hm... so if he grew up in the West. "Do you have a lot of water pokemon?" he asked. Kitty looked in awe, then nodded. It sure sounded like a lot. "I have a Whimsicott that mommy and daddy got for me a long time ago, and Ryan bought me a Mareep to be her friend. And you saw Floon. And there's Momo! She can fly just like Aang's Momo!<3" The thought that Rosa may not watch one of Kitty's favorite shows didn't really cross the child's mind. "Oh, and Missy! She's a Stunky, but she looks just like a big white KITTY<3"

Ryan found himself caught a bit off-guard at the question, then suddenly let out a bright if slightly delayed laugh. "Not a one! Guess I'm th'oddball o' Western folks, ain't I? But I've honestly just always had a big thing fer fire~" What no he absolutely was not a pyro (anymore and God dammit no one had even used that one building for years and his friends wouldn't have liked him anymore if he hadn't and no one found out shut up).

The thought on a Stunky though caused Rosa to stop and blink a moment. A kitty... Just like Kitty! "You should get a lot of kitties!" Rosa suddenly suggested as her eyes sparkled at this idea. The image of Kitty amongst a bunch of... kitties X3 heheheh. And with that, the color vanished from Felis's face rather quickly. Even if he had been hit by a Giga Drain, it still wouldn't have caused such paleness to sit on his feeatures as it did now. Fire.. And here for some reason he had thought he had been getting better with that subject. Guess not. "Ah," Felis finally managed to say something at least but was now struggling to keep Ryan's gaze. He fought to try and think of something else to say, yet his mind had suddenly been zapped blank, and so he ended up just sitting there staring. [/scrolly]

Kitty gasped. "I bet Sage would love that!" She could just imagine it! They'd dress them up like prettyful princesses together (Annie was a girl name right? Yeah, right!) and then have a big fluffy princess tea party and and and<3 "Maybe Fluffy can join too so we'll have lots and lots o' sheeps!" Realizing Rosa'd said something else, she thought a second before giving an "Oh!" Lots of kitties, huh? "I do love kitties~ Puppies too!" She giggled a bit.

...Shiiiit shit shit shit. He'd done something wrong. Um. All of a sudden, a certain news story from several years ago flashed through his mind, and Ryan went nearly as pale as Felis. One of the big-name nobles... Their estate... had burned... ...... That was the East... wasn't it.. FFFUCK. Ryan honest to God could not remember where the incident had been, only random bits and pieces of the report (having never been too concerned with most news, but having kept an eye and ear out for any reports of Yakuza activity or anything they may need to know, in the past for planning purposes, and more recently just out of habit and both hoping and dreading to hear anything of Kamui, for multiple reasons on both). But yeah, based on Felis's expression and Ryan's general luck... Yeah, he was just going to assume..

"...BIRDS!" he suddenly blurted, then cringing a bit at how harshly that had come out. Calmer if still a little edgily, he went on, "I have quite a few birds, too. And an oddball Scyther." Tangent tangent stay on the tangent, get away from the topic that made Felis react like that okay yeah. "Haven' been able ta decide if I wanna evolve 'im er not. I mean, Scizor's gotta beautiful color to 'em, but Bug an' Steel ain't really my things usu'lly. 'Course it ain't like Scyther's Flyin' is m'normal kind either.. B'then they're kin'a an odd family too. Their strengths really jus' change more th'n they improve, an'..." He faltered a bit as he now realized how much he was rambling (even if it had been half-intentional), and his voice got weaker with each trailing word now. "Can't really... decide which... heh.."

"Sheep! And chicken and cows and o3o...." Rosa seemed to space out for a half a second before coming back to it again. "I wanna be a farmer sometime too! We could play with the animals and pokemon all day long..." Rosa grinned already diving into a daydream about having that many animals and things. She ... she wanted a horsey too! o3o Or... a Ponyta! ;3; But Felis always said no when she asked and and and... Maybe just a regular horse .3. ......."We could ride ponies on rainbows too!" she suddenly blurted out. Felis quite literally jumped at Ryan's 'bird', yet as Ryan continued to speak, Feliciano relaxed a bit more and seemed to nod slowly. "Scyther are rather pretty," he managed to smile a bit before his face fell again back to its previous expression. "Bug pokemon tend to help nature even if their type match up is a bit ...." Felis made something of an obscure hand motion. "Hard on grass types. I raise a lot of grass types, and they take care of my gardens," He half smiled again managing to move away from what had frozen him previously. [/scrolly]

Kitty... actually suddenly welled up to the verge of tears. "But..." She sniffled a bit, trying not to whimper. "But.. Rosa..." Dare she tell her? No, it... was better she found out as soon as possible, right? Like when Kitty decided she wanted to catch a pretty Cresselia like the one in her story. She was glad mommy had told her that there were no Cresselia in their part of the world... right? Mommy had said it was better to know than dream about it a whole lot first... right? She had to then. She... she was strong, darn it! She could do this! "You.. you can't touch rainbows..." Ryan had told her this some months ago with a bit of a laugh at the thought, and consequently spent hours consoling the poor girl on the matter. Little Kitty was just glad all magic wasn't like that. She didn't know what she'd do if suddenly the tooth fairy or Santa disappeared, too..

Meanwhile, Ryan let out a bright if slightly awkward laugh at Felis's explanation. "So no battles for us, I'm assumin'," he teased. He wasn't even sure which was more terrible: the thought of decimating poor Felis with his endless type advantages or the thought of Fae actually losing to a little flower. Dear Lord, she'd be inconsolable for weeks; it was all Ryan could do not to laugh aloud at that thought. Recalling the mention of another Pokemon earlier, he grinned and shrugged. " 'nless it's one-'n-one w'that Milotic an' a bird o' mine. Haha~" Here he noticed the ride was getting rather close to over... Daw. :< Well... That.. didn't mean his time with Felis was over, right? Heh... ...Even if he didn't really take advantage of the alone time at all... '^///~; Ah well...

However, as Kitty explained that they couldn't literally touch rainbows, the look of confusion and partial worry zipped back into the back of her mind, and slowly Rosa was grinning again. "Yeah... but there are still pots of gold at the end of them and leprechauns!" she reassured Kitty as best she could. "And if you get the pot of gold you can keep it!" she nodded rather hard at this. "Felis says it's hard though," Rosa frowned a little shaking her head ever so slightly. "Because the leprechauns don't wanna give it up! So you have to be sneaky!" she explained looking rather determined again. It was by this time that Rosa began to realize that they had been descending for some time and were almost towards the bottom. "Look! The ants are looking like people again!" she chimed. Felis found himself laughing a bit as well at Ryan's answer. "That would be a bit more evened out," he hummed a bit lightly nodding his head. "Though I don't battle that much really... most of my pokemon just play with one another and what not," he grinned. Indeed, most of his pokemon, including Rosie, were left to their own devices most of the time (though Rosie had taken it upon himself to actually help Felis out.... though his way of helping was still...erhm...). At that particular point, Felis hadn't even realized that the ride was coming towards a steady end and was still content to continue the talk as if it would continue on forever. "I'm sure my knight wouldn't mind a battle though some time," Felis grinned thinking over Miguel's training of sorts. [/scrolly]

Kitty's eyes slowly grew wider with awe as Rosa went on. She'd heard of leprechauns! Though.. not TOO much about them. And they were the kind of thing that sounded like Ryan would think it was silly. Or at least... she'd heard him say before that nothing was free. (Other than free samples, she'd assumed. Those were the best part of shopping trips!) But then... Rosa sounded so sure of herself! She MUST know what she was talking about! ... 8U Ooh! Maybe it wasn't free because you had to work so hard to get it from them! Yeah, that must be it! Just as she went to ask more, though, Rosa was commenting on the ant-people, which brought a giggle from the younger girl. "Yeah, they are~" Smiling out the window as she watched them, she commented casually, "It's jus' too bad we can't see so far 'nymore."

Ryan gave a light 'heh' as Felis explained his Pokemon situation a bit more. Honestly, he'd always wanted to battle a bit more, but never really got around to so much. When he'd stop to honestly think about it, Ryan knew he was a much more serious trainer in his head than in reality, but eh. He had bigger things to focus on, and even 'professional' training was more something to earn teens and young adults just enough to skim by on while they traveled around. Most didn't make much, and definitely not enough to raise a child... heh...

This thought had brought something of a sad smile, but just as he went to push it aside for a more natural one, he found even that instead fading as Felis mentioned his Knight. "Ah.." He did his best to hide his sudden disappointment and the blush that accompanied it, but ended up just staring out the window awkwardly instead of looking at Felis as he spoke, which could only have looked more conspicuous to most. "So uh... How 'd yutwo me-then?" The redhead almost choked on his own slurred incompetence, ending up uttering an awkward sound that could have been either a cough or just clearing his throat, but didn't really sound exactly like either. This broke without pause into a "Meet. Then." His eyes drifted back to Felis for just a moment before darting back to the window as he cringed and added, "Er uh.. 'f tha's notoopersnal..." Stupid stupid stupid...

What the hell was he even doing? He did not have this much trouble talking to people. He'd had countless conversations with countless strangers and been perfectly fine, or just slightly unnerved at worse, usually. He'd flirted (not that he was flirting, of course) with or even been turned down by countless women, too, or at least more than he'd care to count even if he could probably get a good guesstimate if he tried. So why--.... Oh yeah... Right... Mentally, Ryan sighed.

"Ya...." she frowned a bit before placing a finger on her chin. "But..... we can go up and see again later! Or something!" Rosa beamed before giggling a little and looking downwards. "Hey! what are we going to do next?" Rosa asked startling herself a little with how loud the 'hey' actually came out to be. At Ryan's shift towards the window, Felis blinked a little and had to fight off the urge to bite his lower lip, yet as Ryan asked how he'd met Miguel, a sudden laugh escaped from him. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Felis registered the way Ryan had asked the question several different ways, and at least one of them had caused the laugh, if not more. "I hired him to come work in Forest Castle and serve under me," he smiled back lightly. "Of course we wrote quite a bit beforehand and finally had a sort of interview almost with everything......but Miguel's become part of the family pretty easily," Felis smiled. "He even watches Rosa when there's a need...." he hummed. [/scrolly]

Kitty blinked before looking around a little. Looked like only one more cart had to unload before them... Hm. .. Well~ It had been fun, right? "Next?" She thought on that a bit. "Uh... OH! D'ja still wanna go on the teacups?" Teacups were fun, and they could all ride one together! ^^ "We were lookin' at those before, amember?"

The beginning of Felis's answer came casually enough, but it seemed every new sentence instilled Ryan with ten times more dread than the last. Mentally, part of him just collapsed to all fours and hung his head in defeat, while another part scoffed loudly and laughed mockingly, wondering what the fuck he was even getting upset about. He didn't even know this guy, and most of his interest- if he had any, because he... okay that act really wasn't working even to himself so maybe he had a little- just came from from parallels he was making to himself, and he guessed, the more he looked, his looks. But really? Didn't he learn anything before about coming on too strong with random people he met at carnivals? Never mind if this was completely different sort of and 'too strong' couldn't really have been measured by more opposite standards between one case and the other.

Either way, though, he needed to pick his sappy ass up out of the emo corner already and just enjoy the Goddamn day. Doing his best to do just that, he forced a smile and a small 'heh'. Both probably came out just a bit mechanical, but he did try to be sincere. All the same, his tone gradually fell off over the course of his reply. "It.. must be really nice to have someone like that..." At least this time his mental moping didn't come from his stupid new crush. Instead, images of Kamui flashed through his mind, and Ryan found himself for the thousandth time realizing that part of him almost wasn't even picky anymore; he was just tired of being alone.
