Pushing the thoughts away, Vengeance slid off Lucifer and returned him to his pokeball before entering the lab. It was 4 am by this time but Vengeance didn't give much thought to how late it was, she'd stayed up much later before...even gone days without sleep, usually when she was trying to figure out an equation of some sort though. Closing the door silently behind her, Vengeance blinked slightly as her eye grew accustomed to the darkness before heading towards her room to put the knife back in the dresser she had taken it out of. Vengeance heard movement nearby and looked to see what appeared to be a fleeing purple tail. Shaking her head, Vengeance thought nothing of the little rodent Pokemon and continued to her room, replacing the knife in her dresser before she did anything else. Vengeance felt like she was being watched and Jack came to the forefront of her mind, causing her to freeze in the process of closing the drawer. Now why had he...no...pushing the thought away, she closed the door and sat down on the bed and removed her eye patch before setting it on the nightstand next to the bed. Vengeance was about to lay down when she caught sight of Achar staring at her with a hairbrush in her mouth and a rather dumb expression on her face. After staring at the offending Slowbro for a few moments, Vengeance finally got back up, knelt in front of the Slowbro, and took the hairbrush out of her mouth, sighing as she looked at the now wet handle of the brush. Shaking her head, Vengeance made a mental note to ask Leon to shadow Achar and set the brush on the nightstand before laying back down on the bed, knowing she should sleep if she was going to be of any use working tomorrow. With lightning speed, then, he rushed to the bedroom hall ahead of her, pausing only a moment to remember which room his girl was in tonight before heading in and waking her with the news. Kali rolled over groggily as the Rattata poked and prodded, gathering up a bundle of covers and moaning a soft and yearning "Leon.." without seeming to hear him at all. After a few minutes of working, however, the girl was finally roused and managed to understand Nibbler's message, promplty shifting from sleepy and peaceful to thoroughly pissed. With no other thought save reprimanding the older woman's behavior, Kali hurried out of the room. With no warning, Vengeance's door was suddenly thrown open, revealing a rather upset teen who seemed quite unaware she still wore nothing but skimpy silver lingerie. "And just where have you been?" Kali scolded, only just barely not yelling. Not that she gave her time to answer. "You didn't tell anyone where you were going! You can't just go AWOL for hours like that!" JASMINE ROSE

It was still very dark as a creature walked down the halls. Keeping more of an eye on the front door then anything else. From time to time a flash of yellow fur could be seen through the darkness as the Jolteon kept watch. It was Hades turn to be up, but at least he had a friend with him, looking into the darkness he could see the shape of Lelantos. The Houndour had offered to help Hades and he was only too glad to accept the help. Now the peace of the night was broken as someone came through the door into the lab. Narrowing his eyes he saw that it was just another lab person and simple grunted.

It wasn't until he heard the small pond of paw steps running down the hall and saw Lelantos taking off that he wondered what was going on. Following the Houndour that lead him right to the bedrooms which he took a quick glace at Jasmine's room. Needless to say after being gone long for a day longer then she told him her welcoming wasn't the best. He didn't have much time to dwell on that thought when he saw Kali come out of her room and went over to Vengeance's room breaking down the door. Oh god she sounded pissed. He had seen Kali upset before and thought nothing of it, but he surely didn't want to be on her bad list. Flicking his ears for Lelantos to come to him he stood more to the side of the doorway not wanting to get in the way or anything.

When the girl had finished yelling, Vengeance sat up on the bed and looked at her with a stoic expression, it was no business of hers where she had been anyway...and at any rate it was pointless to get so mad about something that had already happened. "Shouldn't you be asleep by now..."she replied, avoiding the question entirely; Vengeance had no inclination to answer to a girl who could very well be her sister's age if she had-no...shaking her head, she pushed the thoughts aside and looked back at Kali "Why are you wearing silk...aren't you cold..." Achar was still staring rather dumbly off into space when she seemed to remember something and left the room, headed towards the lab area. Vengeance sighed and returned the Slowbro to her pokeball so she wouldn't cause anymore trouble, the last thing they needed was for the useless Pokemon to wander off with a needed part and forget where she put it. How dare she! Kali had been here a lot longer than Vengeance. Kali was Leon's apprentice and second (andotherthings); Ven was just an employee. And she should respect her superiors, dammit! Such was her outrage that she didn't at all notice the Pokemon come to the door beside her. When Ven went on, Kali's face suddenly heated as she realized she should've thrown on something less revealing here, but she pretended it didn't phase her. "It's comfortable," she answered flatly. And sexy. ...Not that anyone notices.. At least Kaito had... She really hadn't seen much of him lately though.. Anyway, truth be told, she was a bit cold, but she'd deal with it. If someone hadn't seen fit to stay out all night with no warning she'd be snuggled in a warm bed anyway. Kali watched as Ven dealt with her odd Slowbro, then waited. And waited. She really should've taken it off before she layed down earlier anyway...it was less likely to be lost if it fell off that way then. Looking at Kali again, this time with her scar clearly visible as Vengeance had yet to put her hair down, not like she was going to anyway, it just made it more tangled in the long run, Vengeance sighed. Was it possible-... Kali blinked and mentally shook her head. That would just be-... "And I thought I had bad taste in men," she snarked. Of course, she had no real evidence there was anything like 'that' between them, but just the thought of Ha- er, Jack (or Vengeance, really, if for different reasons) having friends was just... bordering on inconceivable. Vengeance's eyes seemed to flash dangerously for a brief second but this quickly faded away,"I don't think who I am around has anything to do with the lab...Jack caught me when I was leaving...we talked...that's all..."she replied,"And if you say anything more about him I'll...stop...it was an observation nothing more..."she thought, letting out a soft sigh that ended up turning into a yawn. Vengeance looked at the hairbrush on the nightstand before realizing her hands were starting to hurt and loosened her grip on the side of the bed, not even realizing that she had gripped it so tightly when she'd heard Kali start talking about Jack. Now that she thought about it, Achar had probably stolen Kali's brush considering the Slowbro had a strange fascination for Kali's things for some reason Vengeance couldn't fathom and Vengeance's own hairbrush was still in her bag, "Well now...that Slowbro was actually good for something wasn't she..."Vengeance thought before looking back up at Kali. As things went on, though... There seemed to be subtle signs.... Really? she thought, nearly deadpanning. "It matters because you have a job," she explained. "You get paid a ridiculous amount" (assuming Ven got about as much as she did) "to pretty much just be a trainer and keep your mouth shut. I think you owe it to tell someone where you're going." Which, of course, really just more or less translated to 'if I can't go out and have fun for no reason you can't either'. It was a full-time job in the most extreme sense, but Kali didn't even know what else she might do if ever their work was finally done. ... Actually, this brought a sudden and rather heavy realization, but she pushed that thought to the back of her mind for a later conversation. Jack! Right, that topic still intrigued her. "You don't honestly like him, do you?" As the words left her mouth, she realized the question was a little vague, and could still- more than before, even- mean as just friends or more, but she decided Ven's reaction should be clear enough on which was the case, assuming it got anything but a flat yes or no. Not that she had any idea what she'd do with such information. Blackmail was always a convenient card to carry, but only worked if Ven wasn't open about her feelings (whatever they were) on the matter. Mostly she was just being nosy, and she knew it, but how could she help it? The thought that anyone would actually want to hang around Hatter! She couldn't get over it. Then it hit her. Jack... had a friend... in the lab. Someone specifc- someone other than Kali- who he wanted to spend time around. This meant... Since they couldn't stop him from breaking in... When he did, maybe... he'd go to Vengeance instead of letting his Pokemon wreak havoc or harassing her? Oh sweet merciful Arceus. All these thoughts had rushed by in only a few moments, of course. At this point, she found herself staring into space a bit, and upon coming out of it noticed how different Ven's room looked from her own. This lead to looking around and observing the details, which led her eyes to- "Is that my brush!?" she exclaimed, rage suddenly renewed. Rushing to snatch it up, she wondered why on earth the other woman would have taken it or where she would have found it in the first place unless she'd been in her room before remembering the Slowbro a few minutes before and the fact it had taken things of hers once or twice before. ..That she knew of. ..Come to think of it, that's probably where that missing sock and several other things had gone as well. ..Kali... needed a lock... Why did it matter what she did as long as she was bringing more Pokemon for their stock...by this time Vengeance was more or less tuning Kali out when the other girl mentioned Jack. Looking over at Kali, Vengeance heard her ask if she liked Jack and remained silent as thoughts of the time on the island came back to her. That was...he was...did she really...there was that feeling again...but...then what...shaking her head to clear her thoughts she was about to answer when Kali realized that her brush was on the nightstand and snapped it up in anger. "Achar had it when I came in my room...I got it before that Slowbro forgot where she put it..."she replied, pushing all the confusing thoughts of Jack away...it would do no good to think about that right now anyway. Really, she should encourage it, shouldn't she? In order to keep the jackass- lol 'jack'...- away from Kali herself as much as possible? Looking down at the brush in her hand, it suddenly hit her. Like a Snorlax being launched by a Wailord it hit her. Red eyes lit. "You know..." she began, suddenly-sly tone matched by her gaze as she turned to Vengeance. When Kali's eyes lit up, Vengeance simply looked at her, all manner and appearance's normal aside from the turmoil her thoughts were currently in. Wait...had Kali just suggested....why would she want to do that...he already payed attention to her...if he didn't then what had happened on the island. Pushing the thoughts aside, Vengeance breathed out quietly, "Why do I need to get his attention..."she replied, thinking once again about the island...he had given her flowers and..... Vengeance felt heat rise to her face at the memory of what happened afterwards and looked away from Kali, staring at the ground as she pushed the memories away again. Not here...not now...she couldn't remember that now...but...Jack...he had stayed...he was there. Taking a deep breath, Vengeance shook her head to clear away the thoughts and managed to bring herself under control once again before looking at Kali once again. Oh, this was wonderful. Most prominently because of evil plans and that little kid in her giggling at the crush, but also to a degree because it wasn't too long ago that she'd been just crushing on Leon, and this provided a certain if very small 'daww' factor. Still, Kali could have had so much fun driving this into the dirt, but opted to stay focused on the task at hand. Help Vengeance, less Jack. More than a decent way to spend an evening. Morning. Whichever. "Oh, I dunno." Kali shrugged, looking off and faking nonchalance. "There are just a lot of girls out there. I know in his line of work he meets all sorts of people." Or it seemed likely, anyway. But that didn't make as good of material. "If you're content just being a face in his crowd, not standing out at all, who am I to judge? I just thought for a minute you might like to be more than that. That's all." There was no point in dwelling on them now...they would just distract her from focusing...much like right now. When Kali brought up her outfit Vengeance looked back at the girl and shrugged,"I don't have time to shop...it's the only outfit I have...the second is similar...just black instead of grey..."she replied before Kali brought up the idea for a makeover. Blinking, Vengeance stared at Kali, not sure what to make of the suggestion, or about the girl in question for that matter. First Kali comes in yelling at her and was now offering to give her a makeover to get Jack's attention. At the moment Vengeance was still rather confused on the subject where Jack was concerned, hence trying not to think about him...which she was doing right now...no matter what she did her thoughts turned to him most of the time.
