Faith Prism : Scarlet : Muffy Faith should have been in a bad mood about her lack of money. She wasn't. Let's face it, Faith was in bad moods more often than not. Every little thing served to make her upset, building to the point of an explosion. The economy was in the toilet, gangs were running rampant, and she hadn't seen her brother in ages (though that one was self-inflicted). Angry had been her default setting for a while, now. But, simply put, Faith loved The Hive. She loved the woods in general, really. After growing up in a desert, being around this much life was invigorating. Especially here, where she could practically hear the millions of multi-legged pokemon skittering around and see webbing and nests wherever she looked. It was all so joyously alive, and the small blonde woman's lips could not help but curl into a smile. Besides, that life was exactly what going to get back all the money she'd spent on Muffy, the shiny Audino herself currently waddling at Faith's side and looking at her surroundings with wonder. Prism, her Parasect, skittered about at her other side, while Scarlet, her Scyther, trailed behind, shooting glances over her shoulder to make sure nothing was sneaking up on them. Faith had done this a hundred times before to make a living. Now all she had to do was wait until she found something worth her while.

A Kakuna was hanging from a tree a bit closer to Faith, and he seemed to be staring rather sharply at the woman for one reason or another. Not far off, a Shelmet could be seen moving around rather slowly and all but aimlessly. Farther away than that, a Sandshrew could be seen digging a hole.

Faith glanced at the Shelmet. They weren't the most common pokemon in the world, but they had the drawback of being difficult to evolve, requiring one of the most ridiculous trade-based evolutions she had ever heard of. That tended to affect the ability to resell a pokemon. Evolved and easy-to-evolve pokemon simply sold better. She wouldn't mind one for her bug-type collection, but she could think about collecting when she wasn't eating macaroni every night.
The Sandshrew...yeah, no. Faith really barely noticed it, and saw no value in it.
The Kakuna, however, was a different story. She didn't see it until Prism lightly tugged at her pant leg and quietly pointed in the cacoon's direction. Faith stared at the Kakuna, meeting its glare with one of her own. There was a tangible something in the air as she held that gaze for a few moments. The gears were turning.
"You," the blonde woman said simply, her tone reflecting not an ounce of doubt in her words as she pulled out an empty pokeball, "Are coming with me. Scarlet, Muffy, rip it down."
Muffy started squealing as she started an overly-enthusiastic Helping Hand, the Audino hopping up and down and clapping as Scarlet took off like a shot, blades poised for a False Swipe.
Faith pitched the pokeball afterward without even waiting to see if the attack had been successful. The Kakuna was joining her team, and he did not have a say in the matter as far as she was concerned.

The sudden slash from the False Swipes caught the Kakuna off guard, and the sheer force of it would have knocked him out save for the nature of the move itself. Suddenly being hit square in the head by the pokeball, the Kakuna was drawn inwards sharply before the ball started shaking rather violently. However, after a few seconds, the ball finally rang in capture.
Name: Species: Kakuna Gender: Male Ability: Shed Skin Personality: Rather dark for a pokemon, this Kakuna doesn't say much but tends to leer at just about everyone and everything (not Leer leer but ya). In the back of his mind, he is just waiting for the day he evolves so that he can kill just about everyone who ever tormented him. Oddly, he likes fruits... and will quickly lose train of thought as he pursues these sweets.
A Venipede that had been watching from behind a tree, seemed to come out only for a second to watch the end of the battle before hiding quickly again. From the same tree that the Kakuna had been in, a Weedle came down and frowned at the woman.

Prism brought the Venipede to Faith's attention with a soft hiss and pointing of her claw, but the bug was safe. Maybe if it were a Scolipede, Faith would have gone after it, but as it were, she had other things to consider as long as the Venipede did not provoke her.
Like the Weedle giving her a dirty look. She glared sharply at it. "You want to test you luck, buddy, go ahead and try it." Faith picked up the pokeball as Scarlet landed behind her; the Scyther also gave the Weedle a pointed look that made it clear that leaving was in its best interest.
The blonde woman rolled the pokeball holding her new Kakuna in her hand, and then, making a decision, gave it a toss. The injured cacoon appeared and immediately locked Faith in a pained glare. She merely gestured for Muffy to step forward. "Patch him up, Sad Eyes."
"Diiii," the purple pokemon trilled as she waddled forward. Her eyes glowed and she held her hands forward, sending a Heal Pulse washing over the newly caught bug.
Faith snapped her gaze to Scarlet and gestured up. "Find us something good." The Scyther nodded and shot up into the sky, darting around in the air as she tried to locate more pokemon.
"As for you." Faith's eyes returned to the Kakuna. "You can let me make you into a big, badass Beedrill, or I can drag you to greatness, Champ." He was still leering at her in that way, but she thought she saw a faint twinkle in his black eyes, and her mouth quirked into a smile; she could definately work with this.

Far off but in sight of the Scyther, a Combee could be seen flying around rather blissfully. She didn't evens seem to notice that there was anyone else in the area aside form herself. A bit closer, something moved in the trees rather quickly. A flash of solid black could be seen for a brief moment in time before the shadowy long-legged creature moved about through the trees with rather remarkable ease. An Ariados, melanistic in body, was moving from branch to branch spinning a web it seemed.
Closer to Faith, the Weedle leered another moment but slowly moved back into the tree before disapeparing entirely. It seemed that she had come to terms with the idea of peace instead of fighting a human withs o many pokemon out. Suddenly a light humming could be heard. A Leavanny carrying an array of berries was walking rather carefully in tune with her own humming right towards Faith and her pokemon. For some reason, she didn't seem particularly fazed even when she did catch sight of the human but instead resolved to simply continue walking without any real care at the moment.

Faith watched the Leavanny. She'd be lying if she said she didn't want one. Sure, she'd said that she'd work on her collection later, but it wasn't every day that she found a Leavanny, and she'd already broken that rule with her Kakuna. She glanced up toward Scarlet, thinking of a plan of attack, when the Scyther suddenly shot off in a blur toward something.
Scarlet would only do that if she found something really good. Faith recalled her new Kakuna and took off running, Muffy and Prism trying their best to follow. Forget the Leavanny, she trusted her Scyther to know what she was doing.
Scarlet was making a beeline for the black Ariados, her form blurring in a Quick Attack intended to knock the spider from the tree and hopefully stun it.
Reinforcements were there soon enough, and Faith's jaw dropped when she saw what her Scyther was fighting. Holy freaking Arceus, she was going to be set up for life. She shook her head to clear it and immediately gave her orders. "Simplify, and send it to dreamland."
Muffy nodded and raised her hands, firing off a bright Simple Beam, with a cloud of Sleep Powder, courtesy of Prism, following on its heels.

The Leavanny had continued on peacefully walking without much of a care and had disappeared into the hive once more continuing to home as she went. The Ariados was hit sharply by the quick attack and forced straight from her web. Falling back a moment, she looked around in utter confusion wondering what in the world had happened. However, she had little to no time to process anything else for the sudden Signal Beam that hit he caused her to cringe and shut her eyes only to have the Sleep Powder flung at her in another second. The large black spider didn't move for a few seconds, and it almost appeared as if she had somehow managed to avoid falling asleep. However, upon closer inspection, one would find that, in truth, she was now sleeping standing up...hm....

Faith realized that she was holding her breath and let it out. Simple Beam should have ensured that the Ariados didn't shake off the Sleep Powder, but it was still standing there. Since she was lacking anything remotely like self-preservation instincts, Faith crept over and examined the Ariados for only a moment before Prism grabbed her by her jeans with a claw and yanked her back away from the wild pokemon.
Asleep on its feet. Asleep on her feet. Oh, this was just perfect! Faith could breed this perfect little spider, and if her colour passed on, she'd have lots of little black bugs to sell.
"Rip it down." Faith ordered, trying to continue looking serious even with the metaphorical Pen symbols in her eyes.
Muffy began her Helping Hand cheering on of Scarlet, joyfully squealing as the Scyther hurled herself forward with a readied False Swipe. Much slower than her teammate, Prism charged forward with her own False Swipe, just to be sure.
Faith wasted no time throwing an empty pokeball. This one was not getting away.

The False Swipes clawed at the Ariados, and the ball seemed to seal around her a few seconds later. However, in the few seconds after that, the ball seemed to shake violently, and the spider pokemon broke free. However, if one looked closer still, the black arachnid pokemon still appeared to be asleep....

Faith's brow furrowed, and her hands clenched and unclenched in fists. She cursed loudly (making Muffy squeak and cover her ears) when the pokeball broke open again. She grabbed another one. "Again!"The bug pokemon moved forward to repeat their False Swipes, Scarlet lunging and Prism skittering forward. The next pokeball flew. Faith knew this was probably getting boring for her pokemon, as Scarlet was giving her a look out of the corner of her eye that said she'd like a real fight at some point. She also knew that she was hardly carrying an infinite amount of pokeballs. However, Faith really didn't care, because she'd haul this black spider out of here by a leg and come back later for the rest of her hunt if she had to.

And again, the attacks hit the sleeping pokeball, but just as the ball came shooting at the black arachnid, woke up just in time to smack the ball away before it even had a chance to open. It seemed like both a good and bad thing at this point given that the pokeball was still usable yet it had failed and now the Ariados was awake again. Forming a Poison Jab, the Ariados finally retaliated towards not any of the pokemon but Faith directly, it seemed. Oh dear.....

Faith swore loudly when she saw the wild spider headed for her. Getting skewered by an Ariados' venomous horn was not part of the plan. Luckily for Faith, she was the trainer of a very protective and blindingly fast Scyther. A charging creature of the spider's massive bulky and tiny legs, meant to lay in wait in a web, could not keep up with a sleek killing machine like Scarlet, especially when she was summoning a Tailwind. The praying mantis was a blur of green as she grabbed Faith and soared up on the wind she'd summoned, out of reach of the vengeful spider. The woman then promptly let out an undignified squeak and hung on to the bladed arms wrapped around her middle for dear life. Faith's knuckles turned white, the toughness of Scarlet's exoskeleton the only thing preventing her from leaving nail marks behind. Why up? Why did Scarlet have to go up? Not that she wasn't grateful or anything, since Ariados venom was rather potent, but she'd rather have her feet touching the ground, please and thank you. Muffy, meanwhile, was locking her sights on the spider. The faint glow of Telekinesis came to the Audino's eyes as she reached out toward the wild pokemon. "Hold still...hold still...hold still..." she mumbled over and over in her native tongue, the mantra focusing her mind. Prism hissed, letting loose a cloud of Stun Spore to float on the winds toward the prey Muffy was trying to entrap. She then skittered over to the knocked-away pokeball and grabbed it up in her claw. She wasn't built for throwing, but she could keep it safe until Faith came back down and wanted it.

The Ariados tried violently to stay on the ground, yet the Telekinesis did its job and rose the spider up. In another moment, she was hit by the stunning spores and cringed as she found herself suddenly paralyzed. For a brief moment, the spider's muscles contracted more as a reflex towards the parametrization rather than anything else. In another moment, the large arachnid froze finding that even if she tried, she couldn't seem to fight lose... or even move a muscle for that matter ack!

Scarlet swooped back down and placed Faith back on the ground. Despite her brush with terror, the small blond woman stood tall and glared at the helpless Ariados. "Okay, listen up, you little bitch," she hissed, arms crossed and honey-coloured eyes narrowed to slits. "Because I'm only gonna say this once."Scarlet was barely a half-step away from racing in between her trainer and the black spider, and she sent a hateful Leer at the Araidos. A Growl rumbled from Muffy, though her overall stance was more warning than 'I'm going to rip off your legs and strangle you with them' like the Scyther's was. "You're coming with me." Faith's eyes ran over the marks left behind from her team's onslaught. "If you fight off these guys, I have more. If you manage to run, I'll hunt you down. If I run out of pokeballs, I'll drag your sorry carapace out of here myself. You are mine." Prism skittered forward and presented the pokeball she'd retrieved, which Faith grabbed and held out so the Ariados could see it. "It's better for your health to just stay in the ball."She threw it, whipping it as hard as she could and aiming for the spider's face. Hopefully, she'd take Faith's advice, but that was unlikely. Prisim was already starting to take on a faint glow, ready to launch a Flash if the capsule failed.

The Ariados was once again drawn into the pokeball after the woman had finished her slight rant of sorts, and soon enough, the pokeball had hit the ground and was shaking rather violently. However, with the paralysis and already being tired form the battle, the Ariados found herself unable to break free, and the ball rang in capture.
Name: Species: Melanistic Ariados Gender: Female Ability: Swarm Personality: A rather proud arachnid that doesn't give up until she is physically out, this Ariados is willing to go the extra mile in battle and things that she feels interested in. That being said, she is all but completely apathetic towards things that don't interest her such as general human behavior and the like. She is quite spiteful but tends to wait till the perfect moment to execute her revenge.

"Good girl."Faith scooped up the pokeball and smirked. She'd be off to the breeding center in the Captial as soon as she was finished her hunt. Wait until the smug little pokemon dealer saw this.Scarlet idly slid her scythes one over the other, looking bored. Not a single one had been harmed in the scuffle, and it was clear that the praying mantis was itching for a real battle. Faith looked at her and gestured toward the air. "Find us another one."Scarlet nodded and took off again, darting about in search of more pokemon. She wondered, for a moment, if that Combee was still in the area, but she doubted it. No one in their right mind would have stuck around near their brawl with the Ariados. Faith remained below. Unless Scarlet found something paricularly valuable, she'd let the Scyther have her fun and take on the next pokemon on her own.

Below the large bug type, a Nincada could be seen scurrying about rather quickly in search of something or another, it seemed. A Zigzagoon was a little ways away from the Nincada and was eying it a tad fearfully for some reason or another. Off in the opposite direction if one looked... hey wasn't that the Leavanny from before? ....That was odd... she was no longer carrying any berries with her but was continuing to hum and walk to the beat of her hum as she went. Maybe she had put them down somewhere or something? Only the Leavanny herself would ever know.

Scarlet swooped back down fairly quickly. Muffy looked at her, head cocked to one side curiously. "Did you find something?"Scarlet stared down at the purple Audino, curling her lip back in a disgusted sneer. She shouldn't have to reply. Muffy did not sit on the pedestal occupied by Scyther, Scizor, and Faith, nor did she even sit on the level occupied by other, lesser insects. However, by whatever madness her lead had once temporarily contracted, the fleshy thing was part of her swarm. Scarlet turned her head and seemed to speak to a nearby tree. A Nincada and Zigzagoon," she said simply, speaking the former species name with disinterest and the other with disgust, "The racoon seems fearful of it." Her short report finished, she walked purposefully over to Faith, intending to ask permission to thrash one or both. She didn't notice Muffy mulling what Scarlet had said over, staring out where she had been flying. Nor did she notice when Muffy started purposefully waddling off in the direction. The Audino paused once, ears pricked toward where her group had come, and she seemed to think something else over before continuing wandering off. The moment she saw the Nincada and Zigzagoon, she made a beeline for the racoon-dog. "Are you okay?" she trilled, concern written across her cute features. Faith, who by this time had let 'Champion,' as she'd decided to dub the Kakuna, out again for bonding in the form of a staring contest, didn't react until Scarlet was right behind her. Then, she sidestepped and turned slightly so that she was looking at her Scyther and keeping an eye on her Kakuna at the same time. "Nothing worth it huh?" Scarlet shrugged, but before she could give more of a reply, they started to hear humming. The Leavanny from before. Some sort of greater force was smiling on Faith today, that was certain. The happy-go-lucky bug wouldn't even be expecting an ambush, what with them having ignored her before. "Muf--" That was when she noticed her Audino wasn't there. "--fy? Where's Sad Eyes?" Prism, having been paying attention, pointed a claw in the direction she'd gone. Faith growled under her breath. They certainly couldn't waste this opportunity a second time and Muffy could certainly handle herself out here, what with being able to breathe fire and everything. She'd have to work with what she had. "Send it drifting off and start slashing." She glanced sideways at Champion. "And you tie up those legs. Think you can handle that, champ?" The glare she recieved was a good enough answer. Scarlet tore off toward the Leavanny, scythes prepared for a Slash attack, while Champion shot strands of String Shot to try to tangle up the other bug's legs to slow it down and prevent escape, and Prism sent a cloud of Spores drifting over.

The Zigzagoon looked fearfully at Muffy for a few seconds but then calmed when she noticed the normal type. <I...I got lost and now I don't know where I am and and and that...that Nincada over there is scaring me and I don't know if I want to pass him or what he'll do if I try and and and and...> Somehow or another, the small Zizagoon had managed to reduce herself to tears in the short seconds that she had been talking with Muffy.
The Leavanny was indeed caught horribly off guard and knocked back as she was hit by the Slash only to be tied up by the Strong Shot. However, before the spores could hit, she had retaliated with a Leaf Blade cutting the strings and successfully getting out of the way of the spores. Humming to herself still, she made several dance-like steps before forming an Aerial Ace and cracking it down on the Parasect with a general smooth air about herself. She was a dancer, after all, and one could only imagine what sort of maneuvers could be achieved by a smooth dancing form.
