Diana scoured the landscape in search of Pokemon, walking along the beach wordlessly. She really enjoyed water Pokemon, and wanted to catch one to add to her team. The tide rippled on the beach, and she sighed contently, engaged in the moment. A perfect Pokemon in a place like this...

Elvis flew above the beach, watching the shoreline intently. He himself wanted to see what kinds of Pokemon he could find here. And the wind was so calming, too...

Not too far down the beach from Diana, a small Surskit was standing by the waters edge. Every time a wave would reach her, her tiny feet would float on top of water for a few seconds before the water moved back again and set her onto the sand. She seemed to find it rather soothing. In the deeper parts of the water a few Goldeen were swimming around except one had managed to wander away from the group, finding himself in the shallower waters. Laying very still even further down the beach, just barely emerged by the tide, a Starmie lay, half buried by the sand.

Diana saw the Surskit and eyed it with interest, wondering if she should catch it. However, Elvis had flown too far ahead of her now, and Diana ran to catch up with it, huffing with irritation at the loss of a possibly good Pokemon. Oh well, she thought, and wondered if she would see another good Pokemon where they were heading.

Swimming rather close to the waters edge, a Seaking was poking at the sand, most likely looking for food. Further down the beach two pokemon suddenly started screaming at each other. Or at lest that’s what it had sounded like at first. If one took a closer look they spot a small female Wingull, her head pointed up into the air with disgust. Beside her was a black coloured bird who looked much like the other Wingull. He had his chest bloated out and was walking around stiffly as he tried to impress the other Wingull. She was far from impressed.

Elvis had seen the black bird, and now swooped down to Diana, nudging her as he nodded towards the black Wingull. He was excited now, imagining a spy dressed as a Wingull.

"Whoa," Diana said, stretching out the word. "Weird. Let's check this out." She reached into her pocket, remembering the Wingull's type weaknesses. "No strengths against it. Well, here." She tossed out a PokeBall, releasing her Dragonair. "Alright, Scloud! Start with Thunder Wave on the black Wingull!"

Scloud immediately raced toward the Wingull, letting out an electric charge at it in the process. He hurled it at the bird Pokemon.

The male Wingull let out a shriek when the electric wave reached him, causing his body to jolt as his muscles seemed to grow rather heavy. He wasn’t sure why he had been attacked suddenly. Perhaps that dragon pokemon wanted to woo the female Wingull. Well, at the very least he was going to try and protect himself!

“Gull!” The black bird pokemon called out, his wings flapping oddly and his feet moving side to side. It almost looked like he was doing a dance, which in a sense he was. The clouds above suddenly rolled together causing the sky to darken a bit as rain began to fall. The little bird pokemon had used Rain Dance. It would help strengthen his water attacks but perhaps he had something else in mind for it as well…

"Now Scloud! Use Slam!" Diana payed little attention to the Rain Dance, as the Wingull was paralyzed already. Kinda pointless, she thought to herself, not bothering to care.

Scloud thrust his entire body weight at the Wingull now, full with the excitement of a battle.

Elvis cocked his head curiously. He was perched on Diana's shoulder and was wondering if the other Wingull was going to get involved in the battle, too.

he black water bird attempted to flap his wings to dodge the attack, however the stiffness due to the electric attack a few moments ago caused his wings to render him flightless. The next thing he knew, he had the body of the Dragonair slamming into him and knocking him across the sand. Slowly he stood himself back up and shook his body before opening his mouth and letting out a Water Gun attack towards the dragon type. As the rain continued to fall, his feathers seemed to absorb some of the water, causing small lights to sparkle where the water hit him. It seemed the little guy had the ability, Rain Dish. The water from the rain was slowly healing him.

"Rain Dish?!" Diana gasped as she finally understood. "He's healing! How cool!!!" She seemed to be more happy than disappointed. "Ok, now Scloud, use Dragon Rage to weaken it!"

Scloud was hit by the Water Gun and fell back, but now had risen to a competitive stance, brushing the water attack off. He quickly sent a shock wave at the Wingull, knowing that the bird was healing and that he had better hurry. The purple-bluish wave shot at the Wingull, and Scloud steadied himself from his attack.

“Gull!” The Black Wingull called out happily when his water gun actually hit. He was feeling rather proud of himself up until he realized the Dragon type was sending a Dragon Rage towards him. He had no time to dodge even if it weren’t for a paralysation. Once again he found himself tumbling across the sand, this time landing flat on his back, his wings spread out on either side.

He was still, other then breathing and for a moment it appeared like he was knocked out. But if one looked closely they would have spotted him opening one eye for a moment before quickly shutting it again. He was playing dead. It wasn’t an attack or anything but hey, it might work… right? The female Wingull simply rolled her eyes at this and began to make her way into the water.

"Huh?" Ashter looked at the Wingull for a second, analyzing it. "Dragon Rage wouldn't knock it out from the start, its a weak attack."

Scloud nodded in agreement, then shuffled closer to the bird. He couldn't believe his attack would hurt the Pokemon this badly either; the battle was still beginning.

Ashter eyed the bird as she said. "Well, hit it with another Dragon Rage then, to check. I dunno, are Pokemon with weird colorings weaker?"

Scloud shrugged at this question and reared back for a second ball of energy to blast in the direction of the black Wingull.

… Did that human say what he thought she said? She would attack a man down?! Oh for the love of Arceus, he had to move!

With a loud squawk, the Wingull quickly jumped up, stressing the muscles of the paralysation as he did so. He had managed to move just in time for the second dragon rage to miss. Once again the water from the rain healed the pokemon a tiny bit. Afterwards he decided it was time to lead the first attack. So, knowing it was too much stress on him to fly he opened his mouth and let out a Supersonic attack. The bizarre sound waves raced straight towards Scloud.

Scloud was completely unprepared for the attack, and swung around in confusion. Un-gah? A weird noise came out as he tried to focus on the bird Pokemon.

"Come on, Scloud!" Ashter called out to her Dragonair, worried. "You can do it! Slam!"

Scloud managed to thrust his body weight at the Wingull as he crashed down to the ground, mumbling in confusion.

The black Wingull let out a rather proud cry when noticed his last attack taking it’s hold on his opponent. He was pretty sure he was the smartest thing around. With that new found pride he began to look around for where the female Wingull had gone. It had distracted him long enough that he hadn’t even noticed the Dragonair attempting to use it’s body slam on him.

Catching the bird completely off guard, the Wingull slowly tried to pull himself out from under the Dragon’s massive body before shaking the dazed felling off. With an angry glare the black Wingull turned, ready to use another water gun attack! But… nothing happened. Instead the bird froze, the paralysation taking it full toll on him at that moment.

"Now!" Diana grabbed a PokeBall out of her pocket and threw it at the black Wingull. The sunlight glimmered off of the item as it opened and shot out a flash of light. "Come on..," Diana mumbled slowly, folding her hands up into fists. "Come on..."

Scloud was trying to rise from the sand mound where he had fallen. He was flailing out in all directions, and it looked as if the Pokemon was having some sort of spaz attack. As the PokeBall emitted the beam of light, however, the Dragonair snapped out of confusion, and rose rather shakily to a standing position.

The pokeball began to wiggle violently after the black bird was sucked inside with a rather bright light. It was a good five seconds before the ball finally stopped with a tiny ‘click’ as the light on the button vanished.

Ability: Rain Dish - Heals for 1/16 max HP after each turn during rain
Personality: This black water bird absolutely loves other female pokemon of any kind. For some incredible reason, if he finds a female electric pokemon, instead of running away, he falls deeply in love. They are by far his favourite. On the other hand he seems less interested and almost disgusted by fire type pokemon. He even refuses to battle them unless he absolutely has to. This wingull also believes himself to be very intelligent. In battle he likes to use tricks to confuse his opponents.

The female Wingull simply stood there in shock as she watched the black Wingull flash away before her eyes. Not too far away in the shallow parts of the water, a small Dratini had pooked his head out of the water and was now staring at the Dragonair. Beside her a very small Barboach was swimming around, using its whiskers to taste the sea ground in search of food.

"Sweet!" Diana said loudly as she retrieved her PokeBall. She admired that PokeBall for a minute before pocketing it and looking back at the shore. Elvis lifted off into the air again with a nod from his trainer, and scoured the beach for what Diana had described as 'a long, graceful, snake-like Pokemon with pink ends.'

Scloud shook his head a moment, clearing it. He suddenly saw the Dratini and smiled at it momentarily. Diana had begun to walk slowly along the shoreline now, and Scloud followed beside her, wondering why she seemed determined to catch a certain Pokemon. Mrr~ he said to the Dratini with a wink as they passed it.

The Dratini gave a small coo back at Scloud before diving into the water and disappearing. A little further down the shore a small Ducklett was floating around in the water, enjoying the swim. On the shore not too far away a pink Frillish was sitting just on the shoreline of the water. She didn’t seem to be hurt or anything but it was rather odd for the water type to be out of the water. Even further down the shore a small Shellos was making her way slowly out of the water.

Diana glanced at the Ducklett as she walked down the beach. "Not here..." She would have tried to catch some if not all of these wild Pokemon, but the girl had become obsessed over Milotic. She had seen one in a magazine recently and was now determined to find one. "There are probably a million here; I just can't find any." She didn't realize just how rare these Pokemon were, and assumed they lined the beach.

Scloud smiled as the Dratini dived underwater. He was really hot now, not to mention covered in sand, so the Pokemon jumped into the water and started to swim parallel to his trainer, splashing a little water playfully at the Frillish as he passed by. Mrra~ he said to the world as the Dragonair dove underwater momentarily, shooting up in a circular motion. The bliss on a warm day at the beach!

Elvis coo'd with laughter as he saw his friend play in the water. He was so relaxed now, soaring in and underneath the air currents while spotting the wild Pokemon nearby.

[Small Rocks] ~ [Tentacool - F] ~ [Lombre - F]

Further down the sandy beach a number of small rocks could be seen littering the shores. Some were even under the water. Floating amongst the rocks a small Tentacool was calmly searching for some food. Even further down the beach a bit past the rocks a Lombre was sitting quietly in the waves soaking up both the sun and water. The dice of chance just wasn't in the favor of a Milotic being around yet but one never knew.
