Up For Some More Fun? (Fish/Open)

Nami nearly physically fidgeted at Ty's comment. "That's not true!" she said rather quickly back at Ty's first comment. "I'm sure he cares just in some different way than you can think on..." she nodded her head as she stated this as all thoughts about the mirror were shoved away right then and there. "People can't just not care..." she stated rather confidently.

[KARP KARP!]

"How can someone who'd ditch their thirteen year old son in the middle of the night possibly care about him? I woke up, and he was gone. All I remember about him is being yelled at for stealing something worthless by accident...and being called worthless...Oh, and waking up one morning to find he'd ditched me..."

Ty's hand slid off of her shoulder, as he turned his back to her, staring into a mirror. "Maybe he's right. Maybe I'll never amount to anything more than some two-bit thief who always ends up snagging a sack-full of rocks instead of money..." A long sigh escaped his lips. "I'm sorry...."

Nami bit her lip a bit harder and mentally kicked herself knowing that was probably the start of a stupid habit. For a brief moment, she felt some sort of sympathy but couldn't make any sort of real connection with it. However, at the last statement, she suddenly frowned and looked rather defiant in that moment, flicking out her paper fan, Nami swatted it over Ty's head. "Don't you EVER say that about yourself again," she barked rather harshly before finally sighing. "That's only lowering yourself. Be better than what you think you are, damn it." She sighed a little to herself. "Right before, you were saying ok to reading and learning more. Don't put yourself down on that... if anything just take it up as a challenge."

[KARP KARP!]

Okay, so the fan sort of brought him back to reality. But it was her words that kept him there. "You're right. Just because people think I'm worthless, doesn't mean they're right. I just have to do something about it."

Turning to look at her, he smiled, though his eyes showed he was about to cry. "Thanks. Again. You're the only person who's ever actually...been there for me. I never had that before."

Nami smiled a little glad to see that Ty hadn't completely cratered into whatever he had been about to sink into. Sighing a little, she nodded her head a bit at his words. "Exactly," she answered back as he had turned. Seeing the smile, Nami smiled back rather easily, yet when her eye caught that he looked like he was about to cry, she suddenly became confused. At his words, Nami paled again (as if she wasn't already white from before). The only one, oh come now... that... couldn't be right... She'd just argued and held up her morals and beliefs in the face of things.... There had to be others like that, right? Hell, the nobles should seeing they're meant to take care of their people, right? After a moment, she finally sighed and grinned a bit. "You dork," she finally answered back taking the palm of her hand and lightly bonking him on the head. "I'm just saying what I believe is true. You're the one who gave up thieving.. even if it was yesterday. I mean come on, if you can hold to that forever, then why not add more things on. Make yourself a decent person." She broke into a full grin and then mentally cratered. Ya... like she was a descant person... She'd.... she'd run away from home... gotten her sister killed... then ..... Breathing outwards, Nami shoved it to the back of her mind for now. She'd focus on some self-esteem issues of Ty's at the moment.

[KARP KARP!]

Ty chuckled. "I mean it. I've been on my own for seven years. I have no real job, no home, not much of anything but a sob story. I can't remember anyone else ever actually...caring. But we just met yesterday, and you've helped me so much already. People like that are hard to find these days."

Ty looked around, then smiled, sincerely this time. Well, the last one was sincere, the almost-crying thing was just because he was emotional.

Nami sighed a little but kept her smile. "I'm sorry that others hadn't found you sooner then... or that we hadn't run into each other sooner," she answered back before shaking her head a little and looking around the room of mirrors. "But oh well.... we'll just keep moving forwards right?" she grinned a bit more back at Ty. It was nice to see his smile, really. "Come on, we've been standing in the same place for a bit, and I'm surprised they haven't kicked us out yet for dawdling," she laughed a little before taking his hand and then starting to walk again. "So what books do you remember reading?" she asked deciding to start with the basics.. even in a fun house, heh... Her ye caught sight of another mirror, and she found herself grinning a bit at it.

[KARP KARP!]

The man gave a nod. "Yeah. And you're right, we should probably head out."

Chuckling, Ty continued on. "Haven't really read books. Just letters, wanted posters, you know, thief stuff." He shot her a teasing grin as they neared the exit.

[Jay]

Nami looked at Ty and stuck her tongue out and pulled down her eyelid with her free hand. "That's not really reading," she answered back before releasing her eyelid and coming back to a less comical look. "You need to read a full book sooner or later... maybe some of the classics ~"

[KARP KARP!]

Ty stuck his tongue out right back at her. "I see words, I know what they say, that's reading."

Walking alongside her, he added, "But I'll find time to read a book. Just because you told me to."

Nami made a 'pft' sound of sorts at the reading comment and shook her head a little. However, at his second comment, she laughed a little more gently. "You should read for you not just for me. You're the one who it benefits after all." she nodded her head a little at her own statements before finally seeing the exit to the hall of mirrors. Not speeding up but coming at a leisurely pace, Nami seemed to turn her head to one side. "All I used to do was read when I was a kid," she half laughed... That wasn't totally true, but heh...

[KARP KARP!]

"Heh...that too," Ty replied with a sheepish grin. "[color=I remember stealing as a kid. I'd usually come back with stuff like bottlecaps, Pokemon food, rocks...[/color]" He chuckled. "Honestly, I'm glad I'm leaving that life. And not just because my luck hasn't changed much since then."

[Jay]

Nami simply half smiled a little. "Ya..." she finally answered back before coming fully out of the house of mirrors. The sudden bright lights caused the brown haired woman to blink a moment and rub some of the spots away that had suddenly appeared. "Oh ya... I signed up for the appeals contest that is coming up soon," she stated as a somewhat random thought came to mind. "Do you want to come watch me when I do do it?" she asked with a quiet grin on her face. "Or...did you decide to join too?"

[KARP KARP!]

"Contests aren't my thing," he replied, shielding his eyes from the sun as well. "I'll definitely be in any tournament they throw out, though."

The man smiled, "But I'll be sure to see your contest. Promise."

Nami grinned and nodded her head. "Thanks," she answered back retaining her huge smile. "So where to next?" she asked looking around slowly and seeing all of what there was still around. What appeared to be a large inflated bounce castle caught Nami's eye for a few seconds. It was huge... much larger than even the ones that were for kid's birthday parties... but..er.. it was still for kids wasn't it? >> << >> <<;; hmmm....

[KARP KARP!]

Ty looked at her and smiled softly. "Hey, it's the least I can do, right?"

Thinking, Ty noticed Nami staring at the bounce castle. "I don't know, but..." he smiled again. "I think you see something?"

Nami looked back at Ty and scratched the side of her face lightly with a rather interesting if childish smile on her face. "I... wanted to see if we could get into the bounce house... I never really got to play much as a kid.. though I do use my Snorlax as a trampoline sometimes.. he doesn't mind too much." she laughed a little nervously.

[KARP KARP!]

Ty smiled at her, sort of looked sideways at the bounce-castle. "I never got to play much either...It does look like fun. I say let's go for it."

Turning, he started to walk towards it, though at the same time he was sort of waiting for Nami.

Nami hesitated a moment longer before finally grinning and then speeding up a bit as they made their way over. Upon coming to the large jumping thing, Nami's eyes grew a bit as she caught sight of just how big it really was. Dang. After a few seconds, she grinned a little noticing that it had several compartments to it with people of different ages. Finally walking up to the correct compartment of stuff, Nami asked the woman that was standing there if it was alright. The woman nodded her head, mentioned that it was free but that she'd have to leave her bags and things in the safe area. Nami nodded before sliding off her bag and shoes. Slowly climbing up into the giant plush thing, the first thing Nami achieved was to fall flat on her face. Somewhere in the world, a physics nerd laughed.

Ty followed, removing all of his loose belongings and his shoes as well. As he started in, he noticed Nami fall. The man didn't even crack a smile. Okay, so maybe he did. In fact, he was trying his damnedest not to laugh as he made his way over to help her. Kneeling, he offered out his hand to help her. "You okay?" he asked, all while still trying not to laugh. His face was turning bright red.
