The bar wasn't very crowded tonight. A few people were scattered about, drinking their poison of choice and carrying on. Towards the end of the bar, Ty sat alone, downing glass after glass of....water. The young man just needed to clear his head, and the last thing he wanted to do right now was get drunk again, as easy as that would have been. The poor guy had quite the week, and felt like the world was crashing down on him. And one look into those deep blue eyes could almost tell the whole story. His thick blond hair was a mess, scattered about his head, and he looked like he was going to erupt into a fit of tears any second. Propping his elbow on the bar, Ty rested his head on the palm of his hand, trying to figure out where everything went wrong. Ex-boyfriend probably hated him,, father hated him, and thanks to his bounty random strangers wanted to turn him in. Ty let out a long sigh, eyes wide open but his mind was running everywhere at once.

[ Delilah ] Such a strong wind tonight. At least it was warm, with summer finally approaching once again after what seemed like an abnormally long winter, and that was nice. However, it was also threatening to destroy her hair, and that was not. As it was, she was keeping it from getting too disheveled with the help of her squishy pink swiss-army knife of a friend, Cyn. Delilah essentially never wore her hair up unless she was really dressing up for something, and even then it was only a maybe, so it only stood to reason she wouldn't have any sort of hair tie. However, her Ditto worked even better- as he/it did for most everything..- able to actually put forth effort to hold her hair in place in its current mid-high tail rather than giving to the wind's force. To anyone looking, however, he just appeared to be a shimmery pink scrunchy. Soon enough she'd be inside, however. She was in the capital for at least another night or two before their operation, so she'd figured why not pay another visit to her favorite Party Central bar~? Assuming that little stick wasn't here.. Passing a dark window not far down, Delilah caught a glimpse of her reflection, though. "...Hm. That actually doesn't look too bad tonight I guess..." It was different, anyway. ....Had Lyall ever seen her hair up? The thought brought a small chuckle. The chances were slim to none it would make any difference, but why the hell not, eh? "Wha'd'you think?"The scrunchy didn't particularly move, but let out the sound of a sigh. The tiny voice muttered back to her, "All I know is I don't want to be bait again..." That stunt she'd pulled in Orion was just..... It was cruel. ..Not that he'd responded very kindly himself, but... Yeah. It didn't make her end any better. Delilah only laughed. "I take it you'd like to stay up there then." She did like to have him somewhere that he could be discarded more discreetly to go transform in case she needed his help with something, but... Eh, she trusted this place well enough. She certainly came here often enough, after all. Upon entering, she went ahead and pulled down a few bangs before heading toward the bar, only to be sorely disappointed. Behind the counter was a spunky woman rather than her gorgeous black knight. Delilah honestly had her suspicions about any current or past relationship they might have, and as such wasn't especially fond of her- not that she held any allusion she had any right to get upset over it, as it wasn't like she had any claims or would probably even want him long term. Still, she was allowed to be a little petty and jealous at the thought of someone else having something she wanted, right? Well, she was already here. Lyall was sort of a dead cause anyway and she probably would have moved on for the night after a bit even if he'd been here. So who could she go for instead? Gazing around, she spotted a few good-looking guys, though most were in groups. She surveyed the floor a few times debating, but finally decided one of the guys alone looked like he could use a hug (or more if he ended up being interesting). Of course, it was always the blondes, but ah well. Making her way over to him, she took a seat two down from him and was just about to say hi when she caught sight of the glasses in front of him- and more specifically the one that wasn't empty. Either he was drinking something strong and straight, was trying to hide his wimpy drinks with a glass rather than the bottle, or that could have been water. Bar lighting didn't tend to be wonderful, but she didn't think it looked frothy at all.. Hm. Well, she could probably figure it out soon enough. A few seconds later than she meant to, then, Delilah smiled gently and purred, "Hey there. ...Bad night?" He seemed to be alone and just looked depressed after all. Anyway, it wasn't a great pickup, but she could follow it up easily enough in most cases. If she was right, he was probably vulnerable, and a little comforting should get him to open up quickly. If he corrected it was a good night, she'd offer to make it better. Just so long as he didn't lash (and she didn't want him if he was already drunk off his ass anyway) or break down into some long spiel about entirely too many and too complex problems. She really did hate hearing men bawl over what affair they suspected or every slightly ill remark a coworker had made at a job that shouldn't have been half as stressful as they made it sound. All the same, simple as it was, any answer would help her quickly gauge both her interest and chances, and this was good. [/blockquote]

The sound of a voice broke Ty from his train of thought and feeling sorry for himself. In fact, it sort of startled him and he jumped only slightly.
"Just been having a rough time lately," he answered softly, taking a sip of his water. His icy blue eyes turned to look at the source of the voice; and Ty had to admit he did like what he was looking at.
"Actually, now that I think about it, it hasn't been that bad tonight, just dealing with life is tiring sometimes. Just needed to relax and get away for a bit, ya know?" In fact, he'd made things right with Bianca, and sort of with Sen. Kel was pretty much a lost cause, so why worry there? But it did seem that the man's main problem right now was that he was just so exhausted from dealing with everything.
"Though I gotta say," he gave a small grin, a faint twinkle in his eyes. "Things are starting to look up."

[ Delilah ] Delilah listened intently with a soft if barely-coy expression as he went on, sizing him up all the while. He seemed a little cryptic, though it could have been this mood or just an odd first impression. Either laid back and thoughtful or a really gentle drunk (either was good, really), though he didn't seem to be showing signs really. The attempt at the end to flirt (or she assumed it was one from the placement) was almost pitiful, but somehow that actually made it pretty cute, and she couldn't help but smirk. "Well that's good to hear," she half-purred. "Life gets tough sometimes." She had to admit, he'd piqued her interest. She was curious to see what he'd do if she kept it light to start. Ty kicked himself inwardly when it hit him that the line he used was pathetic. Maybe he was more mentally exhausted than he thought. Or maybe he was always cracking lame pick-up lines and the girls were either that amused or just felt sorry for him. Eh, oh well.
"Yeah, life sucks sometimes--or a lot, depending on the person. But if ya just roll over and quit every time something bad happens, what's the point? So I just take a little breather and get back to it." The man took another sip of water as he studied what he could of the woman's figure out of the corner of his eye. Ty wasn't the kind of guy to stare directly at a woman's chest, but he wasn't the type of guy who didn't look at all, either. Usually.
"Oh how rude of me," he finally said, turning to look her in the eyes. "Name's Ty." Ty gave a slight smile, wondering how of all the guys in the bar, the girl went to him. But then he realized, hey, she went to him; who cares why?

[ Delilah ] Thoughtful indeed it seemed. Something in the back of Delilah's mind actually triggered a subtle flight reflex, urging her to get away and do it now. This could only end one of two ways: either he was too sweet to put out, even after persistent coaxing; or, worse, she was going to end up crushing a really nice guy for no better reason than that her intended target wasn't working that night. In the end, the main thing that kept her was noticing the occasional flick of those eyes. She'd sort of been watching them given their stunning nature, after all. Perhaps he wasn't quite as innocent as he seemed? Well.. She could hope. "Delilah.." she answered a bit musingly. After a few moments, she slowly smirked and added, "And you know, It's all right if you stare. I really wouldn't dress like this if I had a problem with it." She gave a light, somewhat deep laugh. It was true after all. While her pink-and-white-swirled shirt was a bit long compared to many girls in the bar and she wore pants rather than a sexy skirt, the shirt was rather low-cut with pretty thin straps and a row of small black rhinestones across the 'neck'line that essentially screamed 'pay attention'. Ty smiled, pushing back his glass of water; he was done with that. Now that he thought about it, he wondered why he went with water of all things; it had no taste and does nothing for you except hydrate. Yeah now that he thought about it he should have at least had coffee or something; that would have looked at least a little better, anyway. Though after that one incident he wasn't touching alcohol for a while.
The man spun so his icy blue eyes could take in the full figure of the woman next to him. "Nice to meet ya," he finally said. Upon being told he was allowed to stare, he let his eyes sort of drift downwards, though whenever one of them were talking, Ty would always look her in the eyes. "So, what brought ya over my way?" he asked, leaning back a little.
His eyes sort of sparkled as he looked at her. But nothing really witty was coming to him, tonight; it seemed Ty was either that tired, or just out of his league. Maybe both. But hey, that never stopped the man from trying, right?
"Or did I just get lucky?"

[ Delilah ] When she'd said stare, she really hadn't expected him to take up the offer so eagerly, or literally. More just look her way and check her out briefly without trying to hide it. Not that she hadn't seen worse, or even minded really; it just amused her in contrast to her initial impression of him was all. "Perhaps a bit of that too," she replied regarding luck, her sultry voice once more coy. "Though I suppose it doesn't hurt that I apparently have a thing for blondes." 'Apparently', as if she hadn't long since noticed herself hopefully and often unthinkingly checking out nearly every blond boy she'd encountered in the past four years, and to a lesser extent the past ten, maybe more like twelve years. But HEY distraction time! To keep her mind from heading down a darker path, she began to focus unceasingly on his eyes. Though they with his lighter hair brought the flash of a thought of a small girl, this was easily pushed aside. Grinning at him now, she teased, "Though now that I'm here, I suppose the rest of you is cute enough too." He could take that as an insult or a compliment if he wanted. Really, he wasn't entirely her type, but that face was adorable, and his body fell into the 'good enough' category- nicer than just 'acceptable' but not really 'ooh~ nice' either, and certainly a far stretch from 'mmmm, baby~<3'. While he clearly wasn't very built, though, he could still be a lot closer to one end of that category than the other depending on what was under that shirt. [/blockquote]

Ty gave a slight chuckle. "I guess I'll give it to luck then," he said light-heartedly, sort of toying with his hair a little. "Though if the rest of me is only cute enough..." He let his eyes leave hers to intentionally and obviously scan her figure. "I got the better end of this deal."
Ty knew he wasn't drop-dead georgeous. He knew the only reason girls normally went for him was his cuteness, his apparent innocence, and on occasion, his eyes. But the man figured he'd just use what he had to the best of his full ability. Sure, under the shirt he was mildly defined, and had a bit of a six-pack going on, but that by no means made him stunning. But really, he liked who he was, for the most part. At this point and time, he just hoped Delilah did.

[ Delilah ] The woman had to grin at this, having never claimed she wasn't vain. "Of course you did," she teased him. After a moment, she shrugged and purred, "For looks anyway." He could take that how he would. So far, she was getting the impression she had lucked out when it came to personality. As she considered this, a thought suddenly occurred to her, and she decided to drop a little multi-purpose hint of this thought, purring, "Though honestly, I could let you stroke my ego all night...~" Mentally, she was somewhere between a giggle and a snicker, but on the outside she held her signature coy air perfectly. Ty smirked, again gazing into her eyes as she spoke. Not quite sure how to take the comment about looks, he just smiled a little more. This was thoroughly amusing, to be honest. However, at the comment about stroking her ego, Ty was silent for a moment. It wasn't that he didn't have anything to say, it was that so much came to mind; most of it dirty. Not that he was afraid to say it, the man was just picking through the various thoughts trying to get the right one to say.
"I don't think I'd mind that," he finally said as he leaned in. Then, a more mischievous grin of sorts spread across his face as his voice dropped to just below his regular voice but just above a whisper. "Why stop at just your ego?" Ty knew he was at a slight risk of being punched in the face, but it wasn't like that never happened before.

[ Delilah ] Oh gods yes, he took that bait~ Lilah mentally giggled at this, but only grinned coyly outwardly. Of course, this did kill his nice guy impression a little more, but guys that were too nice were boring anyway~ He was still ridiculously cute, though, and as such it was only fair to give him an honest answer. "Such a tease~" she cooed. A bit darker, however, she added, "But if you don't stop there, I'm note sure you could make it until I'd let you." Was it wise to tell random men she was almost impossible to please? Of course; the key word in that question was 'men', after all. And every damn one of them, if he was willing to go so far in the first place, seemed overestimate his own abilities. A challenge, presented properly, was just an opportunity to prove how awesome he was. ..Pfeh. If only more were right. [/blockquote]

Okay, sure, he didn't have quite as much experience in bed as he let on; in truth he was maybe....average at best. However, the entire time, he kept that mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
"Maybe," he finally said. "But hey, ya never know." Really? That's all you could come up with? Slightly shrugging a shoulder, he raised the glass of water to his lips again, took a sip, and put it back down on the counter.

[ Delilah ] Delilah gave a light chuckle. That reply once again put her on the fence as to whether she thought he was too innocent or not as innocent as he seemed, but he was just so cute. Then again.. If she was lucky, either case could work to her advantage. With a lot of luck, he was just extremely modest, but even barring that, there was the rather stronger possibility she might be able to train this one... That was always fun~ Either way, she found it pretty amusing that he was- "So bold," she mused somewhat teasingly. "You know, most guys at least offer a girl a drink before trying to drag her off." Cough hint nudge. Just one little drink wasn't much to ask, right? [/blockquote]

Drink. Ty mentally face-palmed at that, but he kept his face just as it had been. All in all, Ty knew he could be bold; maybe sometimes a little too bold. And reckless to boot. Though he'd never admit it, that was one thing he actually shared with his father.
"I wasn't trying to drag you off yet," Ty replied teasingly. He had a bit of cash on him, so why not? The man turned his attention to the bartender. Whatever she wants is on me." Those icy blue eyes met back with Lilah's after he spoke.

[ Delilah ] Delilah cocked an eyebrow. "Whatever I want?" She smirked at the bartender. "One of everything~" She held the look only a few seconds before breaking into a deep chuckle, though, ordering a Star Daisy cocktail instead. She never drank anything that wasn't extremely bright and colorful when a new guy was buying. After all, it tended to be a shot to one's masculinity knowing the girl he was hitting on could drink him under the table. If Ty dared to try that particular drink, though... heh. It was definitely a polarized drink. "You getting anything?"[/blockquote]

Meanwhile Ty had almost fallen out of his seat. Iris fixed the drink, sliding it to Lilah; sure, the woman lacked the flare most other bartenders might have had, but she didn't care.
"Be careful what kind of girls you tell that to; not all of them are joking when they order one of everything," the woman warned, and Ty gave a nod.
The blond shook his head. "Nah. I don't drink much. It ain't pretty."

[ Delilah ] 'It ain't pretty.'Sudden graphic memories flashed behind Delilah's widening and suddenly distressed eyes. She stopped cold in the middle of a swig as she could almost feel those injuries again. 'It ain't pretty..' She'd never even been certain which was worse- the pain and fear or the humiliation and having to look at herself in the mirror the next day. So obviously the prior, logically, but the looks people gave her after an incident definitely always made it worse than it would have been alone. As if she hadn't known she was in an unhealthy environment and needed their help, which of course never consisted of anything more than the advice that 'you should get out!' As if they had any idea what was really going on... 'It ain't pretty...'Slowly setting down her half-empty glass, Delilah stood up, and without a word she turned to hurriedly walk straight out the door. She did not mess around with violent drunks, whether they were actually drinking or not. She'd had more than enough of that to last several lifetimes and wasn't going to risk it again. .... Then again... Some block and a half down the street she slowed a little as she realized that he'd been in a bar and still not drinking long before she got there, which already did show a bit of self control.. A lot really. And... well... Yeah. She wasn't looking for a potential boyfriend, just a potential fuck, and quite possibly one she'd never see again. So... as long as he didn't drink tonight? ...Right? Sighing, the dark woman raised a hand to rub her forehead and temples. She really should give the poor kid a chance... It was better than going home sulking, right? Yeah... Anyway, it was only getting later and cooler out. Just over two blocks away from the bar, Lilah had finally stopped outright, and now drew a deep breath as she turned around to head back, assuming the poor boy would forgive an outburst like that so easily. But before he could come close to doing that, she was gone. Well, so much for getting laid tonight...
He looked at the bartender like a kicked puppy.
"Don't look at me, Kiddo. Telling a woman a drunk you 'ain't pretty' isn't exactly a turn-on," she said gently-well, as gently as Iris could; so it still sounded a bit snippy.
"I was just trying to explain why I didn't drink..."
"You should have said just that. I don't drink. I don't drink either, for good reason. But what reason that is you'll never know."
"Great. Now I'm curious AND lonely." Ty sighed, taking a drink of water.
"Well, I can't help in either of those areas." With that, Iris went on to tend to the few others at the bar while Ty lay his head on the counter.

[ Delilah ] A few minutes later (after quite the delay and a small debate just outside the bar with Cyn, who was still holding up her hair, about whether or not she should go ahead with this), Delilah finally re-entered, relieved to see Ty hadn't moved. Neither had anyone else moved in on him, though that didn't mean he hadn't tried chatting up that bartender. Really, that woman's looks almost gave even Delilah a run for her money in some areas, though she was still far too flimsy overall. "Sorry about that," she sighed as she moved back in, reclaiming her seat. To her disappointment, it seemed the remainder of her drink had been taken away.. Eh, it wasn't like they had any way of suspecting she'd be back. "I..." This was not an area she enjoyed, but she felt like she really did owe the kid a legitimate explanation for being that spontaneously rude. Really, just the fact he'd been honest enough to straight-up admit his faults should have impressed her a bit (it didn't, considering, but she still did know it should have, and that sort of counted for something). Sighing, Delilah suddenly became the most somber and sincere she'd been in a bar since she couldn't remember when. Meeting Faith didn't count, as that wasn't really 'in a bar', but even if it did this would probably win, snide remarks here and there barely comparing to this rare moment. Her voice was lower now, slightly dry and devoid of any hint of her usual spryness. "To be completely honest.. I was once in a severely abusive relationship with a man who couldn't hold his liquor."With a small huff, she immediately brightened up and tried to turn conversation back, though. "I suppose as long as you're not drinking, though, we won't have a problem?" On the back of her head, Lilah suddenly felt a small thrum which she a moment later realized was meant as comforting. Idly grabbing at a semi-curly lock, she twirled it a bit around one finger and glanced away from Ty feigning a moment of mild shyness (not that she wasn't embarrassed she'd stormed off like such a child). At the same time, the tug on her hair was more subtle than touching the Ditto-formed accessory directly- a little way to say 'yes, I know..' Things weren't like back then anyway. This time, if some worthless bastard laid a hand on her, she wouldn't have everyone sitting idly by as spectators only to jump when the tables turned. This time, at the first sign she was in trouble, she had support. All the more reason she should have become a trainer long, long ago, and all the more reason to hate her worthless father for making that impossible. [/blockquote]
