Nobles must pay! (Kero/Jay)

Little Luca was walking along the forest. His stomach was aching, as he hadn't eaten for longer than he can remember. He hoped that he could find somebody to ask for something to eat out here, but he was having terrible luck. So much for harmony.. nobody was here to be found DX

Luca continued to search though, as hunger continued to bite at him. He managed to get a shower today, and looked okay right now. He wanted to make his way to the city, but his legs only went so fast. He got just a bit further before sitting down. He needed to rest... He was resting, until he suddenly found himself falling asleep and was lying next to a tree, but the scene probably didn't look very good to passing people. He heard somebody or something coming, and opened an eye up. Ugh... now wasn't the time..

So now everyone in the place is afraid to see what kind of pokemon this massive man was going to use to battle with. Next thing we knew, we were all looking down on a Wooper. Everyone who gathered to watch the battle just broke out laughing. It was so funny. But the other guy was…” Kero had been telling a story about a really cool pokemon battle he had witnessed in one of the towns back home to Alvaro. But part way through his story he suddenly stopped, his pale brown eyes falling on the sleeping boy. Or at least, Kero hoped the boy was sleeping. “Is… that a kid?” Kero asked, turning to look over to Alvaro before looking back at the boy, his eyes squinting. The tiny Swablu, Blue, gave a light chirp as if to answer the question for Alvaro. She was sitting on top of Kero’s head enjoying the walk and stories. [/scrolly] [bg=brown]

"What would have been even funnier is if it had been a Ratatta or something," he chuckled to himself a bit before Kero changed the subject. Alvaro found his eyes turning, and purple spheres set on the body of a kid.... ......... .............. Now..... how long had it been since he'd seen a corpse? For a very od few seconds, Alvaro had just stopped staring and was more or less scanning the body with his eyes. The kid was small and young-looking... bron hair thin bony frame... around seven maybe in age.... Now the question was what killed him? After a few seconds, Alvaro realized he looked like he was all but staring off into space then and there. After a few seconds, he snapped out of this and shook his head a little. "Ya... a child...." he murmured before starting over with the curiosity only given to those that had previously worked with the dead. All previous thoughts on Kero's story had been dropped in a moment as a twist in time had given something new to play with. However, as he approached, Alvaro's eyes caught a slight rising of a chest cavity... ah. That ... was no fun. So the kid was alive but then... "Good MORNING Sleepy Head," Alvaro suddenly chimed. Luca slowly looked at Alvaro and let out a groan. Who was this guy? Luca was too hungry and tired to have some loudmouth yelling for him to get up. He had to find food.... but he needed energy to keep going on ._. Though sleeping wasn't good because he might not wake up, but he had to do something. He didn't spot Kero just yet, and only saw Alvaro. If he had seen Kero... things might have gotten a bit more crazy. Luca was still lying there, practically looking like a corpse. He had to check if he had any change or food on him.... But he had to wait for these guys to leave. It was hard to tell who they were.

[scrolly:h(230),w(390),sy,as(padding:4px;margin-top:10px;margin-left:10px;)] “Do you think he needs help?” Kero asked, peeking around Alvaro’s shoulder and out at the boy on the ground. “He looks like he is starving to death or something.” They had a bit of food they could probably give the boy. Kero could probably wave down Charizard as well and get the dragon to take the boy to the nearest town or city for help. He knew the Charizard wouldn’t be happy about flying anyone anywhere but he would at least do it if Kero asked. Blue, who hadn’t had a good look at the boy until now, was fidgeting slightly on Kero’s head. Her tiny body was almost shivering in yarning to clean the boy. He was absolutely filthy! How could the boy even stand himself? No, no she just couldn’t sit there any longer. With a loud chirp she spread her fluffy wings and flew down to the boy, aiming to land on his head so that she could begin to scrub his face with one of her wings. [/scrolly] [bg=brown]

Raising a hand and setting it on the boy's forehead out of temperature checking habit, Alvaro looked back at Kero a moment. "His temperature's normal, so no illness... or forwards illness anyways... Ya... food'd probably be good for him," Alvaro stated finally looking back at Luca again.... only to see Blue now trying to clean the boy .__.;' ok? [/scrolly]

Luca was still lying there until he caught sight of Kero. He was about to get up and say something, but Alvaro was checking his temperature. He finally did get up a tiny bit, but had a bird suddenly trying to clean his face with a wing. He let out a little shocked cry as the bird started, and tried to push the bird off DX His stomach suddenly ached terribly and he was hunched over now. DX He couldn't jerk around like that yet. Once he got food though.. that bird would pay DX

[scrolly:h(230),w(390),sy,as(padding:4px;margin-top:10px;margin-left:10px;)] Kero stood there in confusion, half of him wondering if he should stop Blue from cleaning the boy and the other half of him kind of believing the boy would look better cleaned. Luckily he did make up his mind after Blue was pushed off the boys head. She was just about to fly right back up to clean him again when Kero leaped forwards and grabbed hold of her. “Blue just… stop…” She was trying her best to wiggle free from Kero’s arms but he held her tightly, to his chest before threatening, “Or no more sparkles for your wings!” That had caused her to stop struggling, her little blue face looking up at him with the most tear filled, ‘You wouldn’t!? look ever. At least she wasn’t struggling anymore. It gave Kero enough time to look over at Alvaro, “I have some left over sandwiches in my bag.” He suggested, his head tilting a bit to the bag on his back. His arms were still holding onto Blue so he couldn’t open the bag. [/scrolly] [bg=brown]

After a moment, Alvaro moved over and reached into Kero's bag before pulling out he food that was nwo wrapped up in something that paralleled in Alvaro's mind with tissue paper. In another moment, Alvaro had turned back and was looking at the kid again. "Hey you might want to eat,"

[/b] he stated unwrapping the sandwich a tad and then holding it out to Luca. Maybe after they got some food in him he'd tell why he was laying out in the middle of this place...?

Luca just sat there as the fight with the bird went on. Maybe he needed cleaned.. but that was the least of his worries right now. He heard them say something about food, and it caught his attention. But... that was a noble DX He looked at the food and was practically drooling already. It wasn't fair.. Nobles just kept food around with them all the time while Luca did everything he could to get the little bit he did. DDDDX Luca slowly reached out and took it. He.. was accepting food from a noble? No.. he was accepting it from this other guy he didn't know. ^_^ Yeah! He started to eat it and looked so happy. Food.. was hard to come by. He was eating pretty fast and was almost out of food pretty soon. ._. That felt better. Now he could go somewhere else to get more food, since he had a little bit left with him already. He wrapped the little bit left and put it in his bag. "Thank.... you...." he mumbles lowly in a higher voice, since he was still a kid. He slowly got up and seemed to stumble a bit. His stomach hurt because he ate so fast, but this kind of aching was better than what he was facing. He seemed to only look at Alvaro, trying his best to ignore Kero. He didn't have energy to fight with him right now.. so he wanted to get away right now. If they found out he was a rebel right now... they'd drag him to jail, and he wouldn't be able to fight it! DX

He figured it was due to the cleaning attack of Blue. A few months ago Kero may have said something about, claiming that it was rude to ignore a noble. But as time passed and he been travelling along with Alvaro, Kero came to realize that he didn’t always have to be the center of attention. Just… most of the time. For now this boy was in need of help and Kero wasn’t going to start demanding respect from him. Well, for now and to an extent. “Well, he looks a bit better” Kero commented with a small chuckle after Alvaro received the thank you. [/scrolly] [bg=brown]

Luca listened to Alvaro and simply nodded. Food was good... but he and his pokemon didn't come across it often. He'd thought about trying to get adopted... but everyone was so mean nowadays, and even if somebody was taking in kids... why would they want him. The next part of what Alvaro said caused Luca to freeze almost entirely. T-thank.. a noble? He.. couldn't do that. "No.... I can't do that." Luca says pretty quietly. It was hard for somebody to understand what he was saying because of this.

Yet the boys response didn’t sound like an apology. At least, from what Kero could hear. The voice had been so low he could hardly hear what had been said. The only word he recognized was the word ‘No’. It was enough to cause Kero’s smile to vanish, replacing it with a bit of anger. “What do you mean, no?” Kero snapped, raising to his feet and squeezing the tiny bird in his arms a bit more. After a moment, the green haired man turned his head to one side and allowed his hair to slide accordingly. His clip slid ever so slightly as well and was threatening to slide off if Alvaro kept moving his head so much. "Why?" he asked then and there. It was a simple gesture wasn't it? Yes, yes it was... then why? [/scrolly]

Luca still had his head facing down, but he could tell Kero had tensed up and knew that he was angry. He couldn't just come out and say it. He was a rebel, sure, but that would get him in trouble. He had to come up with some kind of excuse. He suddenly lifted up his head and smiled. "Because you gave it to me, not him." he says in a rather calm yet happy voice. That would work.. wouldn't it? It should. He hoped it did ^_^

He was very good at giving people lectures but he had told himself he would try his best to cut back on them. He had to learn how to hold his temper in order to become a good leader. If he didn’t he would always be the middle man and that was something he didn’t want. “And my money that paid for it.” He then added, in a very low, grumbling like voice. [/scrolly] [bg=brown]

Setting his elbow on his knee and his face in his hand, Alvaro half smiled, half frownede. "Indeed," he answered back simply waiting for some sort of answer to hat. [/scrolly]

Luca listened to him and looked a bit shocked. Man... He had to get out of this without getting found out. Or.... he could prove that Kero was wrong right here and now! "I'm sorry... I didn't know.." Luca says rather quietly. He seemed to frown and looked kinda sad. He suddenly smirked though. "So there is a starving kid and a noble is as stingy to not share left overs unless given something in return? Hmph, I won't say something you don't deserve." Luca suddenly says as he turns his back to them. He really was grateful that they gave them food... but saying Thank You to a noble would be admitting that he was happy the Noble was there and glad that the Noble gave him something. He couldn't do that. He wanted to... but he had to be a rebel. It was the only way he could survive! A Noble wouldn't understand >.>

With the boys next words Kero’s spirit actually rose and he smiled happily. For once he felt like had actually done something right. He was being appreciated by someone other than just Alvaro. Sadly that feeling didn’t last long as the boy claimed something rather… rude to say the least. “But I… didn’t…” The anger suddenly returned, “That’s Not Fair! I only wanted a thank you after helping you!” The sudden outburst from Kero caused poor blue to jump a bit, letting out a small chirp. [/scrolly] [bg=brown]
