Thus, after a bit of chatting over the phone, the blond haired man had set up an interview of sorts to meet this possible maid.
Leaning on the front gate of Forest Castle a bit more than he had previously, Felis rested his head slightly on it as he continued to wait. For whatever reason, looking for a maid had been a bit harder than looking for his two butlers, yet then again, those were special circumstances of sorts as Felis saw it. Ah well, let the interviews commence~!
Well.....
As soon as this Miss Jade was supposed to West was supposed to appear, indeed.

JADE WEST
Jade was a bit unsure about this, after all she had debated the idea in her mind for a few good days. She was a rebel, and didn't support nobles, but she need money. Unable to get any other place to call her back, she knew that she would have to push her own views aside for now. She need a job now, since she didn't have any extra pokemon to sell for money, and she couldn't afford to breed any of her's. So she was left with this last option, which she told herself that it might not be so bad. Its not like this was going to be a forever job, just long enough to pay her bills. Sighing to herself she grasped her light blue bag tightly as she started to see the castle come into sight. The forest was hot today and the sun seemed to beat down on the top of her head. Man she hated the sun, it brought heat and it seemed to have a never ending glare to it. Where was a good thunderstorm when you needed it?
Pushing the tree branch aside she found a walk way that was covered with all kinds of different colored follows, that seemed to be thriving. So this was what she was getting herself into, a place with strong sun light and flowers. She needed the job, she needed the thought rang in her mind as she kept walking. Meanwhile though her face never showing the endless battle that was going on side of head. As she neared the gate she could see a blond haired man leaning up against the gate. Well that had to be the Duke, after all who else would it be. Reminding herself to be pleasant and positive, even though the thought was hard to swallow. She had made sure that her black Ninetales was away, it was well known that fire pokemon were not really welcome here.
Finally after what seemed like years to her she reached the man, extending her hand and smiling. 'Be friendly, be nice, don't say anything stupid.' She was almost screaming the thoughts in her head. She was sure that she was just over reacting to all of this, and part of it was just her nerves. If she got the job, she was sure she would get used to it, or at least that's what she hoped. "Hi, I'm Jade West, and you are?" She wanted to make sure this was the right man, though she was pretty sure he was.

He would probably have introduced himself first had she not seemed to speak first which didn't catch him off guard so much as make him smile a bit more. "Well hello Miss West," he smiled taking the hand and pulling Jade a bit closer before pulling out a rose from somewhere in his sleeve and holding it out to her and kneeling ever so slightly now.
"My name is Feliciano Rossi~ and I am the Duke of the Eastern Woods, he chimed easily. "And how are you today, my dear?" Ah yes, Felis's general nature was present as always. [/scrolly] |

JADE WEST
Jade was paying very close attention for almost every detail, as she watched Felis and saw the smile spread on his face. Well he seemed rather friendly and, she didn't get to finish her thought as he shook her hand and pulled her a little closer. She was a bit caught off guard by the sudden movement. She was surprised to see the rose and small kneel, oddly enough Jade didn't mind roses. In fact she loved that flower, mainly because of its thorns and its connections to war and pain. Suppressing the urge to sigh a bit, she could feel one of her pokeballs shake a little bit. She knew that it was Sela, the dog pokemon always seemed to keep an eye on Jade even when she was in her pokeball. With her free hand she tapped the ball allowing Sela to know that it was alright.
Frankly Jade wasn't sure on how to act around the Duke, she had never meet a man like him before. Sure her past boyfriend was nice, but he was nothing like this. Not even her own father had been so kind, which is where she got the idea that most men were just cold to women. So being treated with more respect she wasn't sure what to think. One thing she was sure though, he was very different from others, and in this case that might be a good thing. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad. He soon asked her how she was doing, it took her a few good seconds to think of how to reply. "I'm doing fine. Its a little too hot out but other wise good." She paused, "How are you?"

"Ah yes, summer did bring about a change in Era~ I'm glad we're not too far south though... I can only imagine how Lovely Adrian is doing down there," he sighed a little before remembering the last comment. "Oh and yes~ I'm doing rather well indeed," he finished rather lightly.
"Now then would you like to come inside so that we may talk for a bit~?" Felis asked lightly before slowly leaning off his gate again and holding it open for Jade. Indeed, that was what an interview was, was it not~? Talks and conversations about things, heh.
Within the actual gate, there was a glorious array of plants and trees. Shrubs of every kind done up in aesthetic ways could be seen, and a few grass pokemon wandered here and there. Three Chikorita could be seen, one watching the other two dressing each other up in a ring of daisy-like flowers. Higher up in a tree a bit farther away, a Liepard could be seen napping.

JADE WEST
Jade listened as Felis talked, glad that they weren't to far south. After first she didn't understand his worry, but then she remembered that he collected mostly grass pokemon, fire and ice pokemon not welcome. Thankfully Jade only had one fire pokemon on her, though that would change over time. Thinking about the black Nintales once again she wondered how the fox like pokemon would do around here. She doubted she would let her out much, but still she would need air from time to time. She was a bit wrapped up in her own thoughts when he opened up the gate. She gave him a nod, "Yeah," pausing she then walked through, and was hit by the sight of all the plants and trees. In her mind it was nicer then the forest, cleaner, but still having a somewhat natural feeling to it. "So did you plant most of these, or were most of them already here?" The trees clearly could have been here since the start, but she guessed that most of the flowers he planted or had someone plant for him.
As soon as she spotted the other pokemon she felt the pokeball at her side shake more, and finally it forced itself up. She groaned a bit as a tall dog pokemon appeared when the bright white light faded. The Manectric stood next to Jade taking a glance around the place as she looked at the other pokemon. Unmoving as her sense took in all around her, and after spending several minutes looking at the pokemon decided that none were a threat and looked up at Jade.
Twitching a bit as Sela looked around, she prayed that she would behave herself. As Sela looked around and then up to her, she let out a sigh place one of her fingers on Sela's nose. "Best Behavior miss." The yellow and blue dog grinned and let out a deep bark before dipping her head. Turning to Felis now, "Sorry, Sela a bit protective of me."

"Some come from outside of the castle area, but a lot are natural... the gardens themselves are taken care of by my gardener, my pokemon, and sometimes myself when I have time," he mused. Upon seeing the Manectric break from the pokeball, Felis blinked a tad startled for a moment. Rubbing the back of his neck as Sela looked around, Felis looked sideways at Jade wondering about the pokemon. It wasn't as though he didn't like electric pokemon (heck they were in the spring festival), yet he was still unsure as to why the pokemon needed to be out.
As the explanation of sorts was given, a cool smile worked its way onto Felis's face. Ahhh that made sense somewhat. He could understand that especially when he thought of... "My Roserade Rosie is much the same way," the blond haired man chuckled. "Though that reminds me, be wary of him, heh." The blond haired man chuckled a bit more than before thinking of his silly pokemon before he finally stepped up to the main door and opened it again for Jade. "She can accompany you or stay in the gardens," he mentioned after a brief moment.

JADE WEST
The second Felis started talking Sela turned her gaze towards him her eyes round. All the scents of the flowers flooded her nose having a calming effect on the electric dog. She tilted her head a little as he talked about his own pokemon, a Roserade named Rosie. But when he said it was a he, she tilted her head even more and she was confessed. So this male pokemon, had a female name? As the Duke walked away Sela laid down on the ground, having enough trust that Jade would be fine by herself.
When told that most were already here, she gave a short nod. Well that make more sense. As soon as Felis looked at her, she felt a little uneasy and pretty much avoid eye contact. There were just sometimes were Sela was a little bit to over protective and that could be bad. She was thinking about recalling her, when he said that he had a pokemon very much like Sela. When she was warned to be wary of him, she couldn't tell if wary of him as he played pranks or might see her move as a threat. Either way she would deal with that when and if it came. She watched as Sela laid down and was thankfully that the electric dog felt it was safe enough to allow Jade out of her sight. Though she knew that she would listen and see if she needed any help.
Walking away from Seal she approached the main door that led inside casting just one final glance back at her dog before entering. The castle on the inside was in fact huge, and she couldn't help herself from looking around. Jade had never been inside a place so big, either this place really was that big, or she was just poor. "So where should we start." Adding a pleasant note to her voice as from time to time her eyes turned on her and looked around a little more.

As they entered the castle, Felis couldn't help but smile at it all... Vaulted ceilings, large walls decorated nicely yet a hard slate floor to remind people of what it actually was. At the question that was posed, Felis smiled a bit. "Ah yes this way," he answered back lightly before walking down a hall that branched off from the main area. He walked down several different ways before finally coming to a door to which he opened it easily and held it open for Jade.
The sun room of sorts was what had appeared behind he door. With large glass walls on all sides save for the wall on which the door was on, the room was well lit but natural lighting. A desk could be seen off to one side, and a bookshelf next to it, yet on the other side appeared to be a couch and several comfortable chairs. Once Jade had entered, the blond haired man led the way to one of these chairs and sat down rather easily motioning for Jade to sit down as well. "So tell me a bit about yourself, Miss West," Felis began lightly.

JADE WEST
Jade had follwed him through the castle, sure that if she had to find the room on her own she would have gotten lost. The natural light was nice, since she wasn't that fond of lamps or even lights. Heh Jade really was odd in what she liked and what she didn't like. Once they entered the room she saw the desk, and a chair in front of it. She few a second that she should sit down in that chair, but when he saw in the other chairs she followed. Sitting down, she placed her darker blue bag, with light blue stripes on the floor.
She froze when he asked her to tell him about herself, oh that wasn't good. Jade never liked to tell people anything about herself. She was very private and tended to keep her life to herself. Plus the fact was that she didn't have the best background either, with living on the streets half her life to leaving home at 18. She had learned early on the fend for herself, and not depend on anyone else. "Well," she paused trying to think of the best thing to say. "I've been living on my own for the past six months. The last job I had was over a club, but I left because of the increasing risk at night." Once again she paused trying to think, "I'm not much for hoards of people, I tend to work best with a small group of people." She hated telling people about herself, since she was never too sure on what was to much or what was to little. "Oh and I'm an only child.

Ah, a club as the last job she had. Well there was something to start up the conversation with. However, given she seems a bit uncomfortable at the moment, Felis decided to turn it into a dialogue of sorts in hopes she'd calm down. "Ah very nice," he answered back with a calm smile. "I'm the second son of seven children total, third child when you count my older sister," he explained lightly. "Sorry if I'm a bit pressing or whatever you wish to call it, but I'm curious, what was it like as an only child?" he asked. [/scrolly] |

JADE WEST
In fact she was a bit uneasy, but she knew that it could always be worse. Jade hated sitting down and explaining to her boss what she was like, it was kind of like the third degree. Either way she would get through it, she had when she went to work at the club. She was a bit surprised that he was out of seven children. Wow that really was a large family, perhaps if she had a large family she would have had a better life. Then her father wouldn't but all his attention on her, and would be able to have the son that he wanted so bad. She would have really enjoyed a brother or even a sister, someone to talk to. Siblings were normally always there for each other, and they were someone you could talk to and understand.
She had to think about what to tell the duke about being an only child. Well some things were good, she got all the attention even if the attention was sometimes bad attention. She did get spoiled a little bit, when her father felt like it. He could afford to send her to school for sometime, but if she had other siblings she might have have been able to go.
"Well, there were some good things, you tend to get more attention. But it really depends more on what kind of family your born into as well." Running her hand threw her hair she thought about her father again. Sure he wasn't the worst father, but he was not the best either. He could have done much worse for him, but him complaining almost everyday that he wanted a son didn't help her. Still thankfully Jade had been born with a backbone and was to deal with it better then some people might have. She learned quickly to fend for herself. Even with that though she fell into the trap of having a boyfriend at an early age. She smirked to herself yup having a boyfriend at 12 years old wasn't the best idea she ever had. The thing that stung more was how long the relationship lasted and how she hoped that her and Zane would be forever. Odd to think they had only been broken up for 4 years, it seemed like just yesterday. "The one down side I can tell you about is not having someone to talk to. Siblings normally understand you better then anyone, and if there is a death in the family you can talk to them, and they can understand your pain." She shrugged her shoulders and smirked a bit to herself. "A brother would have helped my father out." The comment was muttered and mostly spoken to herself. But she did said it aloud, and it was 100 percent hearable. She wasn't even sure if he would understand the comment, since it was kind of something only Jade really got.

Indeed, he could have demanded more attention from his father if his older brother had been around, yet he also got attention from his older siblings that somewhat made up for it at least in some ways. He had liked being the big brother and the little brother at times, yet that also brought back the thought on Lance, and for a brief moment, he blinked shoving that thought away and listening more intently as Jade continued. It sounded as though she would have wanted it, and indeed Felis could understand that relatively well at least. However, the last set of words didn't quite click to the blond haired man, and because of this, a quiet quirk of confusion came across his face for a moment. "What do you mean?" he asked. JADE WEST
Jade froze once she realized what she had said, crap, just crap. Her father hadn't hide it that he wanted a son, though he didn't down right punish her for being a girl. In fact she knew that it could have been much worse, and in the end he treated her good enough. You know at first she had been mad at her father, but she learned when she got older that she looked just like her mother. She must have been like a mirror shadowing her mother in so many ways, reminding him everyday of how they fell apart. Like she had said perhaps a brother would have helped her father. It would have taken his mind off how much Jade looked like her mother.
She soon realized that it would be best to answer the question, and thankfully Jade didn't seem to have any trouble explaining her up bringing. "Well, I just think having a son would have helped my father cope with the loss of my mother better." For sometime Jade had gone down the road of poor me, but she realized how annoying that was and stopped. But that's not to say that it doesn't slip form her from time to time.

He had lost family, and because of this, he found himself dropping subjects on such rather quickly least he hurt others or himself by pressing. If not for the fire two years ago, he might have continued this question, yet now ... he wouldn't. Slowly nodding and offering a smile, he brought a finger to his chin and then removed it again. "You seem like a lovely woman," he smiled unable to come up with anything else that would accurately describe what he wanted to say. Yes, she was lovely for being open on such things even if it did confuse him. After a moment, he leaned forwards a bit in the chair. "Now then... what is your favorite flower?" he asked springbording off of the previous subject and into something different entirely possibly in order to keep both their minds at peace. [/scrolly] |

JADE WEST
It did seem from the general feeling to Jade that both of them seemed a little uneasy about talking about loss. It didn't bother Jade that he changed the subject, she would rather not talk about it anymore. It was done and over with and now in her past. She had learned that she should move on and count her losses. She smirked a bit to herself when he asked what kind of flower was her favorite. Well there really was only one kind of flower that she liked at all. "That would have to be the rose." She rather enjoyed the many different meanings behind the rose. The flower was a symbol for war, but also at the same time peace. Those sharp thorns that cut people who weren't used to handling the flower. "What about your's?" She was interested in what his favorite might be. He seemed to love flowers and plants, but surely he must have a favorite that shines above the rest.

Yes, it was a rather beautiful flower known to express words of love which he often associated with. At the question that was returned on him, he blinked a moment and brought a finger to his chin. "I'd honestly have to agree with you... I love the rose the most... though my favorite is the pink rose. Bred from both the red and white, such a mix of adoration and innocence between the two colors shows true love, I would say," he hummed a bit. There were only a few he would ever hand out a pink rose to, and those people were the ones he held most dear to him, namely Rosalba. "Have you ever seen a flower right before it opens? Any flower..." he hummed a bit. [/scrolly] |

JADE WEST
Jade listened as he mentioned what color rose was his favorite. Oddly enough he named the one color that Jade never really cared for, pink. She enjoyed the normal red rose, but also the black ones. She was aware that black roses were colored, but she had to say she enjoyed that color most. She did shrug her shoulders as his next question though. She lived in the city and therefore didn't see many flowers or plants, and even if she did she didn't have the time to watch them grow or open. On the other hand she wasn't even the type to stop and watch the flowers grow. "No I haven't, the city didn't allow me the time to pay attention to that."

After a moment or so, Felis nodded a little. "It is a precious thing. It could become a most elegant flower, but it is also at its weakest and can be killed in an instant," he sighed the last part as a half frown came and went from his face. "My younger sister, Rosa, is at such a stage, I believe. She has so much potential for everything, and all I wish is to watch her grow and bloom into the most elegant of flowers...." he hummed a little bridging his fingers ever so slightly in thought. "She'll probably try and get you to play with her at least once," he chuckled quietly. [/scrolly] |

JADE WEST
He went on to say how at the start for a flower its could go either way with life or death. If a flower was treated well it would bloom and shine its fullest, but if not cared for shivered up and died. That was the problem with plants, some of them were so picky and had a hard time staying alive even with good care. However her attention was caught when he talked about his sister, and how she was in the same state. Ok so if she went one way chances were that she wasn't going to die, but she could make some bad choices. Much like the bad choices Jade had made in her life, without any real proper guidance from her father. He spoke of how he wanted her to been able to reach her full potential, but then trailed off. "But your worried that events might happen to lead her down the wrong path." It was a fear that she could understand fully, in fact she had gone down the wrong path a few times. Learned the hard way on what was right and wrong. She liked to think it was the best way for her to learn though, otherwise she would be a push over. She had learned that trust was like glass, easy enough to make but easier to shatter in a second. She didn't know his younger sister, and she hoped that the young girl wouldn't have such a bumpy road like she had.
Either way that really was life and there was nothing Jade nor anyone else do to stop any hardship from entering her life. Smirking a bit when he went on to state that she would try to get her to play with her. "I don't mind." Suddenly thinking of it she felt that she might as well tell him right now. Given the writings on signs she could tell he wasn't a huge fan of them. "Before I forget, I do have two fire pokemon, a black Ninetales and a Vulpix with me. I saw your signs about and thought you should know."
