<Whoo!> the Houndour barked happily wagging his tail a bit. Suddenly, something came straight of the cave causing the Houndour's ears to fall on his head. A rather majestic but stern faced looking Rapidash was now standing just inside the cave. <Can I help you?> he asked with a slight frown. |

The Rapidash seemed to slowly step out and looked up before blinking a moment. <Oh forgive me of course~ Come in come in, it's alright> he said pepping up a good deal. The Houndour seemed to sigh and wagged his tail a little only to be splashed by a few droplets of water that caused him to scowl up at the sky. |

The Houndour made a few awkward motions but finally managed to get all four feet on the ground. Shaking out his fur a bit, the pooch wagged his tail and scampered inside. The Rapidash made another head now before walking deeper into the cave, and indeed, it looked far from just a cave.. Was it a tunnel system? Looking back at his friend, the Houndour wagged his tail. <I think it's called a Maze!> he grinned motioning towards the deeper areas where the fire horse had disappeared. |

Flare remembered all of the times he'd had paper on the ground, and had been shown different designs of mazes that human's put on it! It wasn't very good! But, Jaxa had told him of a method to explore mazes... But he hadn't been able to remember it.. Flare wandering after the Houndour and in turn the Rapidash.[/scrolly] |

And thus the maze trek actually began. Though he thought he'd been following just behind the Rapidash, the Houndour suddenly came to a stop as he found himself staring at two passage ways: one leading left and the other leading right. Looking back at Flare, the Houndour looked forwards again and turned his head to one side. <Which way...> he mumbled quietly. |

He hadn't been paying attention the way the were headed, he was too focused on remembering the way back out! So, he hoped his nose would be able to follow the way, after all, Growlithe were commonly used as police dogs, hopefully for this reason, he wasn't sure![/scrolly] |

Sure enough, the scent of the fire horse was present and headed left. When the Houndour caught sight of what Flare was doing, he broke into a grin. Oh! That was cool xD; why hadn't he thought of that? Starting to sniff around, he found himself... confused .3.' Hm... well maybe Flare's nose was more sensitive? |

The Houndour blinked at Flare's words before quickly snapping to his meaning and nodding his head. <Right!> he answered back nodding his head quickly looking back to try and keep a running record in his mind of where they were. The maze system led down several different twists, turns, and kinks, yet the 'Odor Sleuth' effect worked well for the canine. Soon enough, they came to a large central 'tunnel' where a group of pokemon were talking. The Rapidash from previous could be seen chatting with a Numel who kept nodding slowly. |

The shiny pup nodded after a moment at Flare's motion and then slowly started to walk again. <It smells... warm in here...> he hummed rather happily. How the air could possibly smell warm was anyone's guess, but the Houndour seemed to think it was.

He was sure there would be some scent in the air with it. The canine looking one last time towards the pair that had been further ahead and turned to slowly and calmly start back the way they'd came. <"It feels.. Unsafe in here for some reason.."> The larger male had rumbled silently down to his shiny friend. He wasn't sure what it was about the tunnel system, it just didn't feel like an entirely safe place for the two canine pokemon.[/scrolly] |

The Houndour's ears pricked a little, and he turned his head to one side and then the other. <Unsafe?> he asked as his eyes rolled up and around for a few seconds before looking back at Flare. <Hm... Well maybe it's stopped raining! So we can go play outside now!> he grinned as though this were the greatest thought ever, and it just might have been! Who knew?! <Uh...which way is out ._.;> the pup murmured slightly worried now. He hadn't been keeping track, really....er...uh...

The younger dog wasn't serious right..? He didn't mean it right? It was a joke, wasn't it! <"I asked if you'd pay attention for us pup."> The canine rumbled, snfifing the ground for his own scent, to see if he could track themselves back to the exit. His scent should still be fresh, after all, it was only moments before that they had come by, and if it wasn't his scent, he could probably use the younger canine's scent, his scent was probably much easier to track since he was a wild canine after all. The Houndour's ears settled down on his had. <I forgot! The tunnel was just so cool and big and and and...er...> he fell silent after a moment unable to find any other exscuse out of that which he had already said. However, as Flare began to sniff about, the pup turned his head upwards and tried to draw smell into himself as well. o3o...Oh hey! He... thought that smelled familiar... and >> oh that way? Looking back towards where they had come, the Houndour seemed to make a quiet 'hm' sound. Indeed, it was the way they had come and would probably lead them out again.

It seemed like that was where they had needed to go, the large canine slowly heading his way up the tunnel. <"It's okay pup.. We'll find our way out, promise."> The male rumbled out, his nose making sure to keep them on the right track, he didn't want to get lost further in the cavern, his nose also sniffing for the smell of water, just in case it had still been raining outside, even though it was a long shot![/scrolly] |

The puppy seemed to hesitate a little with his answer. He still felt pretty bad that he hadn't kept track :/ ......Oh well... he'd just help the next time around right? Right! What he didn't stop to consider was that he had already assumed that there would be a next time, of course. Oh well. As he continued to follow Flare, the Houndour bobbled his muzzle a little much like Flare had done as though it would somehow help him.
