Meeting a new friend. { MOD/open}

Cora ran not really noticing much around her, for her Pokemon where the only things on her mind. In fact she hardly heard the man at the herb shop call out to her. But she did and stopped to look where the voice was calling from. spotting the man she ran over with a worried expression on her face when she got to him and came to a stop. [glow=blue,2,300]" Can you really help my Treecko and my new Poochyena? Treecko and Poochyena got into a battle just out side of town when I was looking for a shinx.. And I was able to catch Poochyena after a long hard battle.."[/glow] explaining to the man how her Pokemon got hurt and was hoping he could help her out.

[glow=brown,2,300]" Muuud Kiiip muuud!"[/glow] Mudkip said in a pleading tone, as if asking this man to help her friends.

Treecko who was passed out stirred in his sleep and even woke up and opened his eyes a little. [glow=green,2,300]" Tree....Cko..."[/glow] He said before passing out again in Cora's arms.

Cora looked down at Treecko worried then looked back up at the man. [glow=blue,2,300]" Can you show me in please?[/glow] Cora asked not wanting to be rude even if her Pokemon where hurt.

[Jay]

The man looked at the Treeckoo before nodding. "Yes I can come this way," he answered back motioning inside his herb shop. Moving around the counter, the man pulled out a jar of herb medicine. "It will taste terrible, but it will heal injuries as well as help the pokemon get their stamina back." He nodded to himself as he said this.

[Maid Melody]

Elly had been in the bushes the whole time watching the battle with the poochyena. After the girl and her pokemon left, she disappeared and went to fetch Elayne, deeming it safe enough to go into the city now that there seemed to be no pokemon...or humans in sight. A few moments later she had reached the campsite they had stayed out the night before.
Upon seeing Elly return, Elayne smiled and grabbed her bag, slinging it over her shoulder in one fluid motion having repacked all her things in the time Elly had been gone.
Seeing that Elayne was ready, Elly waited for her to catch up before leading the way into town, never letting her guard down for even a moment in the off chance that she had missed something which was unlikely.
Upon entering the city, Elayne looked around, hoping to find a place where she could find, at the very least, examples of herbs and explanations of what they do so that she could fare better in the woods considering that's where they spent the majority of their time. Not far inside the city, Elayne spotted just what she had been looking for, an herb shop. As she began to walk over to the small shop with Elly by her side, she noticed that the shop had another customer already; a young blond woman with an injured treecko in her arms. Looking down at Elly for a brief moment, Elayne gathered up her courage and approached the shop, waiting patiently for her turn as the owner helped the young woman with her pokemon.

Cora nodded and took the offered herbs and put them into Treecko's mouth and Treecko swollowed. Cora looked down at Treecko still looking worried. She would feel that way till she knew her friend was ok. Then after a few minutes Treecko's eyes flew open and scramed out in dislike. [glow=green,2,300]TREECKO!!! TREE TREE TREECKO!![/glow] and jumped up into the air and out of Cora's arms and landed on the floor. Closing his eyes Treecko stuck out his toug and started to wipe it with his paws as if that would get the nasy taste out of his mouth.

Mudkip fell to her back laughing and kicking her feet into the air. [glow=brown,2,300]" Muud aha Kiip muuud!![/glow] she laughed.

Treecko then stopped trying to wipe his tough and looked up at Cora with a annoyed look and pointed at her. [glow=green,2,300]" Treecko!!! Tree treecko!!!"[/glow] He comeplaned.

Cora looked at Treecko and laughed and shook her head. [glow=blue,2,300]" Sorry, Treecko. But at least you are feeling better.[/glow] she said smiling. Then Cora turned to the man again with a worried look again as she took out Poochyena's poke ball and called it out and when Poochyena came out it was laying down with his eyes open a little. Cora then put some herps in its mouth and Poochyena did not fight it.. Like he could anyway. Poochyena then swollowed the herps and after a few minutes stood up fast coughing and spitting. What was that stuff!! Poochyena then looked at Cora and growled at her asking why did she just give him that nasty stuff...

[glow=blue,2,300]" Sorry, Poochyena. But at least you are feeling better now."[/glow] Said Cora smiling.

Poochyena just nodded and looked around also wondering if this girl was worthy of being his tranier.... Untill she could prove her self to him he would not like her one pit...

[Jay]

The man laughed a fraction rubbing the back of his head as the herb appeared to have done its job. "I told you it was going to taste pretty bad," he said after a moment. "But it heals ya pretty quick, don't it?" After another moment, he noticed that someone else had entered his herb shop. "Can I help you, Miss?" he asked to the other girl that had just walked in. He was already setting up some new jars and things.

Elly snickered when Treecko freaked out at the taste of the herbs and sat next to Elayne, her head held high as if she had been that way the whole time. What was the Treecko's problem anyway? He was better wasn't he? Elly had grown accustomed to the taste of herbs as that was most times the only way to get better in the long run. Pokecenters were rare in these times and Elayne had to rely on herbs more often then not as a result.

Elayne smiled and approached the shop keeper when he addressed her, nodding at his question.
"Yes, I was hoping that you could give me some information about the herbs in the local forest? I have to travel a lot and don't have the luxury of money that is needed to buy a lot of potions. It doesn't help that pokecenters are rare nowadays either. I could probably buy some items from you too if that isn't too much to ask." she said in a kind voice, readjusting her bag and shirt as it had lowered a little to far for her taste, revealing a glimpse of her tell tale sparrow shaped birthmark.

Cora moved off to the side when the man started to talk to someone behind her that just came in. Poochyena jumped off the counter and walked over by Cora and her other Pokemon but very reluctant about it. He wished he was back in the forest and his territory.... Witch now was being taken over by some other Pokemon.... But he knew that would not happen... So now all he could do was adjust to being a trainer's Pokemon.... And see what life he would live now.. He sat down and looked at Treecko and Mudkip wondering how he would get along with them.... From the looks that Treecko was giving him, not so well with Treecko...

Treecko glared at Poochyena, not liking him at all right now. For he put up too much of a fight and made him pass out! That did not sit to well with Treecko at all... Treecko folded his arms and just glared at Poochyena, thinking of ways to get back at him for making him pass out.

Poochyena ears went back and he started to growl at Treecko as if saying. " You want to fight again? Ok!"

Mudkip watched the too frowned and shook her head and walked in between the two. With a look of disapproval expression on her face like if they started to fight she would end it..... [glow=brown,2,300]"Muud kip Muud..."[/glow] She warned.

Treecko humphed and turned away. As did Poochyena. The two may be feeling better but not ready to fight in a battle.

Cora looked at her Pokemon sighed and shook her head. Alot of work was going to be ahead of her. Turning her head to look at the girl who came in and smiled at how healthy her Pokemon looked. Then when her shirt on her shoulder went down to reveal the sparrow shaped birthmark. Cora did everything in her will power not to gasp and stare. Cora turned away shocked that this girl had the same birth mark she had right on the same shoulder!! [glow=blue,2,300]" How?? How is that possible?? How do we have the same birth mark???"[/glow] Cora thought as she glanced back at the girl now wondering who she was. Cora's birth mark could also be seen due to the fact that she was wearing a tag top.

[Jay]

The man put his hand on his chin and thought for a moment how best to address the question. After another moment, he sighed outwards and smiled lightly. "Well I could give you some tips on what herbs are ok to eat and things, but other than that, it is best to seek a specialist. I'm a botanist and have spent over four years researching the plants of the region," he answered back. "If you're looking to buy, I have a few jars of this herb right here which cures fatigue as well as a few other things such as status effects." He held up a jar and made a motion to it before setting it down again.

Elayne seemed to take in the man's words and think about them carefully, glancing at the jars then back at the man's kind face.
"Thank you kind sir. May I take a look at your supply? It would be useful if I knew what they looked like so I can find them again. I need to stock up on some basic supplies while I'm here, do you happen to have any oran berries?" she asked in a kind voice as she dug into her bag for a notebook and pencil, drawing a sketch of the various herbs and writing their names and uses right next to the finished sketch.

Elly stiffened slightly as if seeing something in the distance then disappeared from Elayne's side, walking around the corner to where Cora stood, transfixed with Elayne.
Elly approached the group and hissed, crouching as if she was about to attack, not about to let anyone approach Elayne to take her away like the last people with Cora's scent tried to.

[Jay]

"I have an Oran powder, actually," the man answered back. "It has been dehydrated and works as a better medicine than in standard form. Also, it is easier to carry around in these areas especially with so many travelers now a days. If you think it tastes bland, you could always add water to make it taste better." The man nodded to himself before producing yet another jar and setting it down on the counter in front of him.

A Shuckle, the man's Shuckle to be exact looked around the corner to wonder why there was hissing. After a moment, he sighed outwards and called out a warning not to fight into the shop or there would be trouble. "Shu-ckle!" he stated aloud daring anyone to fight in the herb shop. Upon seeing his Shuckle get angry, the man sighed and looked at both girls.

Cora looked at the girl but then backed up when her Pokemon came over and hissed at her. Cora blinked wondering why and if she did something wrong. [glow=blue,2,300]" What did I do? I was looking at her becuse....Well she has the same birth mark as mine."[/glow] Cora said trying to explained and even turned around to show it to Elly and pointed to her birth mark.[glow=blue,2,300]See? I just thought it was kinda cool she has the same birth mark as me... I was not going to do anything to her if thats what you where thinking."[/glow] She said as she turned back around with a sweet smile.

When Elly came and started hiss at Cora and looked like it was about to attack, Treecko moved and stood in front of Cora and glared at Elly. Ready to defend Cora. Mudkip shook her head and got in between the two as Shuckle came out and sounded like he would attack if they did not calm down. [glow=brown,2,300]" Mud kip kip mud mud kip!"[/glow] She said and asked Elly to back off before things got ugly and Treecko to cool it. Mean while Poochyena did not care what happned... He layed down ignoring what was going on.

Cora looked at the man with a sorry look and looked back at the Pokemon. [glow=blue,2,300]" Come on guys.. Please calm down. We don't need to start a fight in this nice man's store. He did help us after all.[/glow] Cora said. Treecho listened to Cora and nodded stepping back. Mupkip sighed in relief and walked over back to Cora.

Elayne listened to the man, nodding and was about to buy some when the man's shuckle alerted her to trouble. Turning around, she saw Elly on the defensive and looked up at Cora in alarm, wondering what she might have done to cause Elly to behave like that when she saw the small sparrow birthmark on her shoulder. Her heart beating 100 miles an hour by now, she bent and called Elly back to her.
"Elly, it's all right, relax."

Upon hearing Elayne call her, Elly immediately calmed down, although she still looked at Cora warily even after she had shown the identical birthmark. It wasn't until she had calmed that she realized that there was something...familiar about the other girl, but she wasn't entirely sure what it was. No matter, she would investigate later. Walking over to Elayne, she cast a fleeting glance at the shuckle, before sitting next to her trainer once again, swishing her tail contentedly back and forth as if nothing had happened.

Elayne stood up after Elly walked back over to her and turned back to the man, an apologetic expression on her face, "I'm really sorry about that, it wasn't my intention to cause any trouble...could I still get that oran powder and some of the other herbs you showed me before?" she asked in a kind, apologetic tone as she pulled out some money to show the man that she was serious about buying.

[Jay]

The man sighed outwards rubbing his temple and wondering whether or not he should have asked the girl in to fix her pokemon or not. After a moment, he sighed outwards and looked at girl with the Espeon. "Yes, I'll get the jars for you now," he said aloud producing a few more jars and setting them on the table. "Also, if you want better herbs I suggest you catch a Shuckle. They can turn herbs into better working powders and things of that nature." The Shuckle nodded a fraction before sighing again.

Cora looked at the other girl with a confussed look and wondered why she looked soo panicked. Cora then looked at Elly and again wonderd why she had hissed at her. Cora then looked at her pokemon and with a cue for them its time to leave they started to follow..Poochyena saw them start to leave and reluctely started to follow Cora and the other pokemon out of the shop. As they walked Cora wonderd how that girl had her same birth mark.. But the way the girl was acting she did not want to talk about her birth mark. Cora could take a hint she was not wanted eather. so thats why Cora left the store. Waking down the side walks with her pokemon beside her she made her way to the out side of the city to set up camp. She had money but did not want to spend it on a hotel...

Cora came to the end of the city and took off her backpack and started to take things out to set up camp. She un did her tent and started to set it up. Treecko and Mudkip started to help to by also setting things up they way they knew Cora would like it.

Poochyena watched as they set up camp and looked at the forest wanting to go back home... But he could not... He was now stuck with this girl and her other pokemon.. Not knowing what to do he found some nice soft grass layed down and went to sleep.

After a little while Cora and her pokemon had set up camp.. They where going to rest for a few days before setting out to look for a shinx again. Cora sat down on the ground looking out into the forest. Knowing somewhere inside A shinx was waiting to be caught. Treecko and MudKip when they where done walked over to Poochyena and sat down next to him and started to relaxe. But Treecko was still glareing at Poochyena.

[Maid Melody]

Elayne nodded as the man and noticed the other girl leave out of the corner of her eye. A little more relaxed now, she looked at the jars of herbs set out in front of her.
"I'd like some of each, and I'll definitely look into catching a shuckle, where did you find yours? You two seem to be good friends, it's nice to see that in this day and age. I only wish that there were more people out there that realized pokemon can be more than just tools to get what they want...how much will that be?" she said in a kind voice.

Elly looked at the shuckle and mewed softly, gazing at it with kind eyes. Her attitude seemed a lot different from earlier, more relaxed to say the least.

[Jay]

"I caught my Shuckle in the old zoo in the Western Water area. He and I are part of a really good team, and we tend to work well together. Anyways, that will be a hundred for three jars of Oran powder and two jars of energy powder. They should last you a long time if you give it to them in the recommended doses." The man handed the jars to the girl and took the money. After a moment, he looked up again. "Anyways, I hope that if enough."

In the forest, it was relatively quiet. However, three Nuzleaf were on the move and heading directly towards Cora. They didn't care that she was there but were more determined to get where they were going rather than anything else.

Cora was enjoying her self when suddenly she saw Nuzleaf, and they where headed right for her camp... And if they kept coming this way it would not turn out so well... Standing up she took out Charzard's ball opened it and called it out. [glow=blue,2,300]Come on out Charzard!"[/glow] Cora commanded and with a flash of light Charzard came out opened his wings and let out a roar. Looking to see what Cora had called him out for he saw the Nuzleaf and started to form fire in his mouth and said. [glow=red,2,300]" You three better go around..... Or you will deal with me and my friends...."[/glow] He growled.

Mudkip, Treecko and Poochyena all got up to see the Nuzleaf and Mudkip and Treecko moved to both sides of Charzard ready to attack if they did not change course. Poochyena growled and ran up next to Treecko. He hated the Nuzleaf for when he was wild they always bothered him. Well now... It was time for some pay back...

Cora mean while started to tear down camp so nothing would get damged or lost but still kept a watchful eye on her pokemon.

[Maid Melody]

Elayne thanked the man, placed the jars and her notepad and pencil in her bag.
"Thank you sir, this should be plenty for now. At least I know what to look for now. Have a nice day."

Shouldering her bag, Elayne walked out of the small shop and looked around to make sure that nobody seemed to be looking for her before heading back to her camping spot where she would spend the night out of the public's eye. Suddenly, she heard a loud roar that made her and Elly jump.
"What was that?" Elayne asked Elly before running over to where the roar came from.
Elayne reached the camp and was surprised to see the girl from the shop there with a huge Charazard in front of her. What was going on...and why did she always seem to get herself into these messes...

[Jay]

The Nuzleaf saw the Charizard and split into a large triangle each running still in the same direction as before. However, in another moment, they continued on past the girl and her pokemon as though they had not been there at all and moved through the forest once more. The sound of their running continued until it was only a small sound again.

Charzard, Mudkip, Treecko and Poochyena watched as the Nuzleaf came closer. Cora had her camp packed up quickly for in the past she had to close camp fast several times. Cora watched and was ready to command her Pokemon but waited to see if the Nuzleaf would attack.. But to her surprise they ran right by them.
[glow=blue,2,300]" Ok.... Guess they where not looking for a fight..."[/glow] Cora said out loud and watched as the Nuzleaf ran off. Cora then looked at her team and smiled.[glow=blue,2,300]" Alright guys.. You can stand down now."[/glow] She said with a giggle. Charzard made the fire in his mouth die down and turned to look at Cora, Then he noticed Elayne and made a "huh" sound as he looked at her. Mudkip turned around looked at Cora with a smile then looked up Charzard then followed his to see the girl from the store, Mudkip smiled and raised one of her paws and waved hello to Elayne.
Treecko turned around and noticed Elayne and tilted his head wondering why the girl from the store was here. Poochyena turned and saw Elayne and Elly and started to growl at them both.

Cora looked at her pokemon blinked wondering what they where looking at. Turning Cora saw the girl from the shop and saw how she was looking at her Charzard. Smiling closing her eyes she thought. [glow=blue,2,300] Why must most people be afread of Charzard? He is nice...."[/glow] Cora then opened her eyes and looked down at Poochyena and frowned that he was growling at the girl and her pokemon. [glow=blue,2,300]"Poochyena.... Stop that right now...." [/glow] she said in a stern tone of voice a mother would use on her child. Poochyena looked up at Cora and his eyes grew a little wide for the look she was giving him was the look he always got from his own mother before he set off on his own... Poochyena stopped growling lowerd his head and walked over to Cora and sat down wimpering a little.
Cora bent down and petted the little dark type pokemon and smiled picking him up and hugged him. Cora then looked back at Elayne with a smile. [glow=blue,2,300]" Hello, I'm Cora Benntt. Please don't be scared of Charzard, he is a real sweety and would never hurt anyone."[/glow] Cora said in calm nice voice.
