Kero had still been studying the wall as Alvaro put his picture up as well. He had an odd feeling of accomplishment. Which didn’t make a whole lot of sense to him as all they had done was add a bit of life to a wall. What happened next had taken Kero completely off guard. It was more of a shock to him then even the sudden appearance of the paper on the wall. Alvaro was hugging him. The action it’s self had caused Kero’s cheeks to instantly glow a bright red. He could feel his heart beat quicken a bit as well. It was... it was a really good feeling. Better then Kero could have even imagined. After a second a small, but true smile reached Kero’s lips. He was happy like this even if the hug was just to say thank you. “ I have a habit of blurting out what’s on my mind” Kero replied slowly setting one of his hands just below Alvaros shoulder. It was a true statement. Normally his habit caused him to make more enemies then allies but today it seemed to be the opposite. Then again, Kero hadn’t blurted out that he really liked Alvaro yet. He had sort of made that clear when he asked Alvaro to stay with him, but he hadn’t said it directly. Maybe... he could say it now? But then... if he did... would it ruin the moment? Would it cause Alvaro to walk away? He didn’t want that to happen. If he couldn’t keep Alvaro then he at least wanted to keep moments like this perfect. But... Kero felt his eyes water up slightly. His own reaction confusing him a bit. He really wasn’t sure why his eyes would water. One thing was for sure, he didn’t want Alvaro to see it. After all, he was a man. A noble. He was supposed to be strong at all times no matter the situation. ‘ You’re going to change this world, Alvaro’ Kero thought to himself, for some reason not saying it aloud.

Upon being hugged in return, Alvaro found himself grinning a bit. It was nice to be hugged back, heh..... Somewhere in the back of Alvaro's mind, the words 'you're getting to close' shred through him, and after a few seconds, Alvaro slowly released the hug and stepped back with a rather light smile on his face. Don't get close... he's human too...... Alvaro slowly found himself breathing out quiet as the thoughts moved in his mind. He... well......close.....But....... After a few seconds, Alvaro shoved the entire thing from his mind. He had had enough of this odd self-reflection for the moment and had decided to move on to different matters (though in truth those matters seemed to circle around one point anyways). His green eyes moved slowly on Kero's features. "Are you alright?" Alvaro asked after a few seconds. He couldn't put his finger on it, but for some reason Kero looked... What... was it? In another moment, he had brought up a hand and placed it on Kero's forehead before putting a hand on his own forehead trying to measure temperature. "Are you sick?" he asked after another second. Alvaro... was far from a doctor...... well... heh... maybe not that far... He could probably at least be a parallel to one.... in some respects... heh...

Kero instantly tried to dry his eyes when Alvaro pulled away from him. It was too late though. By Alvaro’s question it was clear that he noticed the watery eyes. What Kero didn’t expect was for Alvaro to set his hand on his forehead before setting it on his own forehead as well. “ I...ah no... I just, ahah... Some dust or something just went into my eyes and...” Kero could feels his cheeks glowing an even brighter red as he tried to cover up the reason for the tears. No wonder Alvaro thought he may be getting sick, “ It’s ah.... a bit... well that is... Im finding it a bit hot here. Maybe we should go outside.” Why couldn’t he just tell Alvaro the truth? Was it such a bad thing to like someone? No, Kero didn’t believe it to be but... It was already made clear to him that Alvaro was afraid of getting hurt. He didn’t want to get close to anyone because of that. He had also asked Kero not to cut his wings... How could Kero try to change his mind on that? Kero made his way back out onto the landing. The cool breeze did feel rather good on his skin after being inside. Charizard had still been sitting and admiring the view. He didn’t even look over to Kero as the young man walked out. Then, something came to Kero’s mind. He wasn’t sure why, but he had a feeling Alvaro never really felt he could amount to anything. It wasn’t something Kero was sure on but he wanted to make sure that he didn’t believe that any longer. He would leave his mark on Alvaro in this way. “ Alvaro I...” He turned around to look at the green haired man, “ want you to make me a promise.” He stated putting his pinkie finger up into the air for the other man to take, “ Someday I want to hear you brag to me. I don’t know about what, but It has to impress me. Deal?” He knew it was most likely the oddest request anyone had ever asked of Alvaro but he didn’t care. He was determined that in his own way this would make Alvaro even stronger. That is, if Alvaro was up to the challenge.

The green haired man was quiet watching the dark haired man answer back. After a few seconds, he lowered his hands again and put them on either side of his body again. As Kero made his way out onto the landing, Alvaro found himself following without much of a second thought. The cooler air of the landing made Alvaro shiver for half a second. When... had it gotten so cold... well.. it was getting later.... “Alvaro I...” Purple eyes slid over and stared towards Kero as Alvaro was addressed. “Want you to make me a promise.” What? Alvaro blinked for a moment rather slowly. He didn't... make promises... usually.... they....it...it..... meant....meant being tied to something....but......... Alvaro's purple eyes stared at the pinkie finger extended to him, and for a moment, he was frozen. “Someday I want to hear you brag to me. I don’t know about what, but It has to impress me. Deal?” Alvaro stared at the finger, and something in his mind seemed to crack just a tad. I won't make any promises... I won't form any ties... I won't get close to anyone or anything... I won't get hurt that way... and it makes sense... It's supposed to make sense.... I won't lose anything that way... I won't lose-...... but...but...but....... Alvaro stepped sideways and away from Kero for a moment. But... it's just a promise... and... an odd one... and..... Something was stirring in Alvaro, and he was unsure of how to make it stop. After a few seconds, Alvaro turned back again and smiled. He raised a pinkie and slowly extended it at Kero before taking it. "Deal......" he finally answered back.

For a while Kero believed that Alvaro was going to deny the promise. Though he kept his finger held up, his pale brown eyes looked to the ground slightly disappointed. He hadn’t felt as if it was a big deal but maybe he was pushing Alvaro too much. Maybe there was more to the man that Kero just didn’t know about. After all, he had only known the green haired man for a day. Not even a full day yet. But for some reason he already had strong feelings for Alvaro. To him that meant he had to least try all he could. Just like he was doing with his plan to steadly grow up the ranks in the Nobles, gain the respect needed and rule not only the Southern Wastelands but all the lands in Era. That was his top goal after all. The feel of Alvaro’s finger and the sound of his voice caused Kero to look up again. A soft smile hit his lips as he looked into Alvaro’s face and shook his finger. “ Good,” Kero replied, “ Then I promise I’ll do my best to be around long enough to hear your brag.” He laughed after saying this and dropped Alvaro’s finger before looking back out at the sky. “ Someday all this land may become my responsibility. At least, that’s what my goal is. I want to help the nobles gain control of the lands again and reconstruct the proper order of things. Hopefully rid us of all the thief’s, gangs and what else is out there.” It had been his goal since the day his mother died. He had sworn he would fix the world so that he could make her death worth something. Even if that meant he had to do a few things that may stain his own hands someday. He knew it was a lot to expect from one person, but he was up to the challange.

“Then I promise I’ll do my best to be around long enough to hear your brag.” was the answer Alvaro had received, and for a moment, he was stunned. After a moment, he smirked a little at a thought that had come to mind. When Kero looked up, Alvaro found himself look up as well. The clouds and things above them were moving slowly if at all.... It felt... oddly free.... “Someday all this land may become my responsibility. At least, that’s what my goal is. I want to help the nobles gain control of the lands again and reconstruct the proper order of things. Hopefully rid us of all the thief’s, gangs and what else is out there.” Alvaro's face slowly seemed to fall into a rather flat look even as he looked up still. The air that was moving around them was starting to chill the green haired man, yet he didn't register this at that moment and was more or less focusing on Kero's words. "Is it sad?" Alvaro asked as he looked up still. "That I feel nothing towards Era?" He half laughed a little and slowly lowered his gaze towards out towards the mountains. "Not in the way that...." he broke off for a few seconds and shook his head. "But in the state of it.... It doesn't bother me at all...." he forced a half laugh again, yet it sounded hoarse now. "I know why it doesn't........... but for some reason, you make me question it...." After a moment, purple eyes focused on Kero's face. "I wish you nothing but luck in anything you do...." Alvaro stated suddenly changing the subject then and there. Raising an index finger, he half smiled . "As long as none of your endeavors involve suicide...." This last part... not even Alvaro knew why he had said it, yet it had flowed out of his mouth anyways. Was it that.... he didn't want Kero to die? Well... that had been established... somewhat vaguely... earlier... Alvaro himself.... didn't....... want to lose Kero........... Well now... this was... something Alvaro couldn't even begin to understand for himself.... Why was he doing this to himself? Defying what he had already established in his own mind? Eh.... who knew..........

Kero’s mind had a lot to think about as Alvaro replied but he had been caught off guard when Alvaro mentioned suicide. It caused Kero look away from the sky, his pale eyes looking over at Alvaro. Had Alvaro lost someone close to him because of a suicide? Perhaps it was the reason he didn’t like getting close to people. It would explain a lot if it was true. “ I have too much to achieve to end it that way,” Kero stated calmly looking back up at the sky, “ Even if things don’t end up going the way I expected.” Kero didn’t even have to say this just to make Alvaro feel better. He had always told himself that no matter what he wouldn’t stop trying. He could lose his title and all his wealth and he would still push on. At least he had always told himself he would. “ I know many who aren’t bothered by Era’s state. A lot of people are living rather peacefully so I guess, well, I’m not surprised you feel nothing towards it. I don’t mean to make you question it.” It was true, he didn’t feel as if everyone was needed to care about Era. He understood that it was one of the many reason so many people had different view on the whole thing. The Nobles, the Rebals, the Gangs and even those who were natural. Kero knew that even the nobles didn’t agree on everything amongst themselves. He had been there personally to witness the arguments. It was the pure reason no true leader had risen above the rest yet. He hoped to become that leader someday. “ But... some of us... no, many of us are affected by it even if we hadn’t wanted to be. My entire life has been built up and around it. After my mother passed away it became my father’s obsession and I guess it’s mine as well.” It was funny how a single death could cause so much to change. His father had always been a hard working man just like Kero. He had always wanted to gain more respect from the other Nobles and show his worth. But he had never been so strongly admitted to it until after his mother was murdered. Kero had a slight feeling it was the stress that caused the heart attacks to take his life at such an early age. “ Do you have any goals at the moment Alvaro?” Kero suddenly asked turning his entire body towards Alvaro this time.

A cool smile came to Alvaro's face as he heard Kero's answer to his last comment. Heh... he had had a feeling... somehow... Kero wasn't the type of person...which... made..... Alvaro like him...... a bit more than he was willing to admit, heh... As Kero went on to talk about the state of Era, Alvaro found his eyes staring out at the land. However, his ears were taking in the details of it easily enough. When Kero had stated that his mother had passed away, something in Alvaro twitched.... However, he couldn't understand why. Death was just death... and Alvaro had had enough of mothers, but... Was... was he sad for Kero? Sad for a loss that he had never know? No... that wasn't really it at all.... What was it then? .........He'd leave it alone for now, and with that, teh green haired man transitioned thought. However, as Kero had mentioned obsession, Alvaro found himself confused. “Do you have any goals at the moment, Alvaro?” Alvaro blinked rather caught off guard by the question. However, after a moment, he put a finger to his temple and closed both his eyes. "I met my goal today," he answered back slowly opening his eye again. "I saw from the top of the tower.... though if you mean long-term goals....................... the only one that....... comes to mind...." Is figuring out more of what makes you tick, Kero.... Alvaro didn't speak this last part, yet his mind had registered it clear enough. "Never mind," he finally answered back before half laughing and stepping a bit closer to the edge of the edge of the ledge. "Maybe I'll tell you it, some other day," he finally finished.

A smile slipped on Kero’s cheeks as he heard Alvaro’s achievement of his previous goal. It was such a short term goal and rather interesting that Alvaro lived more by the day then by the future ahead of him. Everything Kero did was often done to reach a bigger goal. The long term goal almost sounded as if he actually had to think about what it was. Or at least Kero thought that’s what he was doing until he decided just not to tell Kero. Damn, the knowledge of knowing there was another goal but not knowing what it was would eat away at him. “ That’s quite the tease” Kero laughed as he turned again, looking down this time instead of up, “ But I’m sure whatever it is you will achieve it someday. ” When Kero finished speaking Charizard, whom hadn’t really been paying attention to them finally spoke up. It was nothing more than to mention that the sun was going down. Kero sighed at this wishing the day could have lasted a few hours longer. Time always went by faster when you were enjoying yourself. “ He says the suns going down.” Kero translated for Alvaro, “ Are you staying someplace tonight?”

As Kero spoke about the tease of sorts, Alvaro simply laughed a bit and shook his head. However, when Kero stated that he'd achieve it someday, Alvaro was quiet for a few seconds. If I do... I'm not sure I'd be fully happy anymore.... was what came to Alvaro's mind at this..... He wouldn't mind not knowing but purs-....................... What was he even..... Alvaro blinked again realizing that it was starting to eat at his complex again... promises... goals... they were things that weren't for him... he lived in the present not the future..... “He says the suns going down. Are you staying someplace tonight?” Alvaro blinked and registered that Kero was saying something again. Purple eyes looked sideways and stared at Kero. "I was thinking of just camping out here," he answered back . "Or just walking through the night.... It's nice at night...." After a few seconds, Alvaro looked straight outwards again and breathed out into the cooler air. "What about you?" he asked looking sideways towards Kero then and there.

“ You’d stay up all night?” Kero asked, blinking a bit in shock. He had never actually been able to stay away for a full night. He had tried before but always ended up passing out somehow. “ Normally we fly home, or to the nearest inn.” Kero replied, just now registering that Alvaro had asked him a question. His night seemed kind of boring now that he thought about it. He never slept in a tent or outside before. It almost sounded uncomfortable but then he knew lots of people did it. Besides he had fallen asleep in chairs before. Couldn’t be much worse than that. But there was one other reason Kero had never slept outside before. His father’s words on the subject rang through his mind as he thought about it. “ Do... you ever run into trouble with bandits and ummm, things?” Kero asked suddenly, his eyes dropping to the floor for a moment before looking back up at Alvaro, “ I was always told they would kill people in their sleep and take all the loot.” His father had always told him stories about different incidents with bandits and thieves. They weren’t hard to believe due to the past Kero had seen and some of things that would most likely happen in the future.

Alvaro blinked rather slowly at the words from Kero about bandits. In truth, he had had several experiences before, but he had never had money to be stolen, and his clips and earrings were never eye appealing enough to be loot worthy. However, this question seemed to spark Alvaro's understanding that Kero was worried.. and well... ._. Alvaro could understand why even from his still somewhat limited knowledge of Kero. He was a noble, after all, and probably traveled with a freak ton of cash or something..... After a moment, the green haired man found his eyes rolling up and down the other one there. "I usually don't carry anything worth stealing," he finally answered back nodding his head a bit at this . "Though I guess it's different for you...." He then turned his head to one side and seemed to smirk a little. "Though I bet if you left your Charizard out, he'd probably be a defense of sorts. " He half smiled at his own comment and then seemed to look back towards the ground below. "Or we could even sleep up here, hah...."

“ You’re smarter than half the people I know just for not carrying valuables with you.” Kero laughed before truly taking in what Alvaro had said. ‘ we could even sleep up here...[/i]’ He didn’t know if Alvaro realized it or not, but that simple word, ‘we’, excited Kero more than words could describe. To spend the whole night with Avlaro... That would be interesting. Kero had always believed one was most at peace when sleeping. It was also when there guard was down the most. So often, you needed to train your body to wake the moment there was danger or truly trust the people you are sleeping near. “Sleeping up here would be...” His voice trailled off for a moment before a huge amount of energy suddenly ran through him “ so awesome! I’ve never sleep in a random place before! And there isn’t a soul out there who can tell me no this time! Charizard...” Kero suddenly turned around looking at his pokemon, “ You’d protect us, right?” Charizard looked less than impressed about the whole idea but he simply let out a small huff. He knew if Kero sounded this excited about the idea that he wouldn’t be able to change Kero’s mind anyway. At the very least he could swoop down and their stuff for them. Which is exactly what Charizard turned to do. However before he took off he turned his attention to Alvaro, giving him a rather mean look. A look that told the green haired man that he was trusting him tonight, he best not screw it up. Once Charizard flew off, Kero returned his gaze back to Alvaro with a smile.

Only half? came to Alvaro's mind, yet he didn't speak this and simply smiled a bit back. In the seconds that followed, Alvaro blinked rather surprised to see Kero's actual full reaction. he hadn't expected it to be so positive especially given that it was a new experience for Kero, yet upon seeing this, Alvaro found himself rather happy to say the least of it, heh. However, the set of words 'this time' seemed to hit him oddly. Well... from Kero's words, Alvaro had gathered that he hadn't spent nights out, yet the idea of him wanting to but being stopped by someone or something had not really touched in Alvaro's mind until after Kero had said that. Well... that was mildly interesting at least for a second more. Watching the Charizard go towards the edge to go down, Alvaro found himself staring back at the Charizard that was giving him a rather harsh look. However, instead of saying something or retaliating in any way, Alvaro simply smiled back rather lightly. Watching as the Charizard went off, Alvaro stopped a moment remembering that Desu and Ring were still out. "If you wouldn't mind!" Alvaro called towards the Charizard. "Tell Desu to Teleport up with Ring when he is ready." In the back of his mind, Alvaro could only hope that Ring didn't teleport Desu off somewhere far away, heh...... After another moment, he looked back at Kero and grinned a bit before allowing his eyes to move back towards the inner part of the tower. "I have a few things in my bag that we could spread out on the floor or something," Alvaro offered more or less shrugging his shoulders as he said it. "Ever played cards or anything?" he asked with a grin already thinking up a few things that could be used to pass the time before they actually went to sleep.

Charizard hadn’t acknowledged Alvaro at all when the green haired man had called out for him to give a message to Desu. He had heard it and despite his wishes to annoy Alvaro by not giving the message to Desu he would. He’d also have to let Swablu and Gastly know to come up as well. He was certain Swablu was smart enough to come up on her own once the sun was low enough but Gastly... The ghost pokemon would most likely wander around all night if he could. “ I’ve played go fish before and ummm... I think it was called hearts.” Kero responded taking a moment to remember the name of the second game, “ I’ve also seen people playing poker in the cities. Oh and that wired cup game with some dice.” He had never joined either game before but had watched others play poker many times. He had always been warned that gambling, such as poker, was one of the best ways to lose everything one owned. It should only ever be played for something with no value. To Kero that meant, avoid playing gambling games. Kero turned and made his way back into the building. He was kind of excited to see what all Alvaro carried with him. Kero only ever had books and food. He hadn’t ever thought of bringing something to play with. Then again he couldn’t really think of a time recently that he had just sat around and relaxed. Unless you counted today. Today was a nice change, with a new face, and maybe... a slightly new future. He could be getting carried away with himself but... Deep down he kind of wanted this change to stick to him more often. It was nice to relax. It cleared the mind and took away the stress. Perhaps Alvaro was his... Well, he would think about that later.

Hearts and Go Fish? Alvaro recognized both games as well as the ones after. He rarely played poker not because it was gambling but because of the simple idea that that was too many people in a room at once. The green haired man watched a moment as the Charizard headed down before finally turning and walking inside as well. "Ah, I've played hose games before~" he smiled lightly. "Ever heard of Speed? The idea is to get your cards out of your pile fastest." He laughed a bit at that. The game was far from a serious card game, but Alvaro liked it (especially since he had an uncanny knack for it). Another few games came to mind including some to which he didn't have the board or set for. Finally sitting himself down cross-legged on the floor, Alvaro waited for his bag and stuff to come back up. Putting his elbow on his knee and his head in his hand, he seemed to simply grin a bit all but impatiently. Was he impatient? Eh... maybe.. at times... Alvaro wouldn't fully admit to it if he was, heh. When in fact the Charizard had come back with it, Alvaro began to go through it rather quickly. The bag itself was a dark blue with several pockets and things on each side. Fishing through these outer pockets, the green haired man finally produced four decks of cards (his reasoning for carrying four left vague in all senses). Opening up one, he slowly started shuffling them with a rather fluid hand.

“ Hummm, no don’t think Ive heard of that game before.” Kero replied trying to remember if he had least heard the name, “ Seems simple enough though.” Maybe he would get a bit of beginners luck. Though the game didn’t sound like one that relied a lot on luck. Perhaps one of the few games that relied on an actual skill. Unlike Alvaro Kero hadn’t sat down yet. He had a habit of needing to walk around while waiting for something or someone. Yes, he was one to walk back and forth when nervous or anxious. It was a habit no one had been able to break throughout his life time. Not the servants, butlers or even his parents and pokemon had been able to make him sit still while waiting for something. It was Swablu who had made it up first though she hadn’t come inside. Gastly and Charizaed had made it up about the same time and both entered the room. Charizard simply dropped everything he had carried up onto the ground before stubbornly walking back outside. He didn’t like the indoors much unless it was sheltering him from the cold or rain. Gastly had been visible for short time before noticing the wall with papers all over it. Something about the wall had the pokemon rush off to explore the rest of the tower. When the bags had landed Kero made his way over to Alvaro and sat down. He watched as the man searched through his bag and pulled out four decks of cards. “ So are we playing speed then?” Kero asked as he watched Alvaro shuffle the deck he had opened up.

A short time after Charizard had come back up, a light seemed to shimmer for half a second, and the forms of both Desu and Ring could be seen. The Elgyem had apparently decided to be merciful and had transferred both himself and the Cofagrigus up instead of whisking them away somewhere (though whether this was willingly or possibly on the cue of some threat, none could truly be sure except of course for Ring himself and Desu). Alvaro's head turned a little when he noted the light but then turned back and seemed to grin a little when Kero asked if they were playing. "Yep," he answered back more or less deciding right then and there. After a few seconds, he began by separating out two five card side piles. "They're used to flip if neither of us can make a move, don't look at them," Alvaro chimed lightly before dividing the rest of the deck between the two of them. "Pick up five from the top of your pile," Alvaro stated motioning towards the part of the deck that had been dealt out to Kero . "As was said, the idea is to get rid of all your cards the fastest. When we're ready, we both flip one of the cards on these," he pointed towards each of the five card piles. "Showing up two cards. Now what is on those cards defines what you can play. If it's an eight, you can play a seven or a nine going 'up' or going 'down'. The face cards follow the general ' Ten, Jack, King, Queen' way, and the Ace can be placed on a King. On an Ace, you can play a two or a King respectively. There is no turn style, the idea is to move the fastest, but once a card is put down, you can't take it up again. As you lose cards, you can pick more up from your pile, and if both of us get stuck, we flip another card from the smaller piles and start again. The one who loses all his cards first and calls Speed wins." In another moment, Alvaro sucked in a good deal of air before laughing a little. "It gets easier as you play," he finally grinned lightly. Taking up his own five cards, Alvaro looked down at them and then looked back at Kero. "Ready?" he asked holding one hand over the smaller deck ready to flip the first card to see what would be thrown out.

Kero listened as Alvaro explained the rules. It seemed like a lot to take in all at once but once Alvaro was done explaining it seemed simple enough. Place down a card either higher or lower onto the face up pile until all your cards are gone. It was all a game of endurance. Quick thinking... man he was not going to be good with this game. Kero lifted his cards and looked at them quickly before lifting his eyes to Alvaro. “ I think so.” He replied holding his hand over his own pile and waiting for the single to start. Once started he began placing his cards down though he wasn’t very fast at it. He was taking trying to move fast but his mind wasn’t able to keep up as well as he had hoped. Finally he realized he had no five or six to place on the seven in front of him. He supposed that meant it was time to wait for Alvaro to run out of moves. At least he was getting a bit better at the game with each card he managed to set down. “ It’s not as easy as it sounded.” Kero laughed as he looked up at Alvaro, “ It’s a much better game than go fish though.” Go fish was also rather boring to play with only two players.

Alvaro was on a roll the moment the game started. His movements were fluid, but his speed made them all but seem jerked. He worked fast and only looked at his cards once before actually placing it. There was no going back and worrying about a mistake, right? Heh, indeed. However, after almost a solid minute of this, Alvaro stopped finding that he could no longer move. Smirking a little he looked at Kero and then took hold of one of the side cards and waited. When both flipped, he began again just as fluidly and speedy as before. <Alvaro's merciless......> Desu chuckled to himself in his mummy tongue. Bringing up a ghostly hand, the Cofagrigus rubbed his 'chin' in thought at this. Ring, who had happened to hear Desu's comment, seemed to blink a moment and then turned his head to one side before smirking. He had a plan to even the playing field of sorts.....Releasing a small Confusion towards Alvaro, the Elygem looked away chuckling a little. Alvaro's form froze as the entire room seemed to start moving due to Ring's move. Shaking his head and starting down at his cards, he tried to clear his mind and continued again far slower than he had been before.
