Kero had flipped his card and started placing the ones in hand down once again. He getting a bit better but he defiantly was anywhere near as fluent as Alvaro was. It was taking a good deal of Kero’s concentration however. He hadn’t even noticed Alvaro slow down suddenly. This happened many times in Kero’s life. When he was set to a task it was rare to get his mind off it until he finished the task. It made him extremely reliable. In his words it was one of his many great qualities. In almost everyone else’s views it was one of his few good qualities along side of being stubborn and thick headed. He only had a few cards left in his hand when he looked up again. Once again he couldn’t make a move. It was good timing to see how well Alvaro was doing. Much to Kero’s surprise the green haired man hadn’t won yet. Kero had expected him to call out Kero’s lose long before he had even managed to get half his cards out his hand. “ I caught up to you!” Kero exclaimed with a silly grin. Kero’s only explanation was that Alvaro mus have been getting bad cards.

Alvaro stopped a moment and looked up smirking a little as he realized why Kero had spoken. Ah, he was stuck again... Well time to catch up then, maybe.... Slowly flipping out his cards, the green haired man tried to ignore the irritating fuzziness in the back of his mind and actually focus on what he was doing. After a moment, he stopped and then looked up again grinning. Between his two fingers, one card remained. However, the face of the card remained hidden, though it was obvious he could no longer play on it given that he hadn't played it. "Not bad," he smiled lightly before looking down at the stacked cards again before looking up. Reaching sideways with one hand, Alvaro picked up another flip card and waited.

Kero watched intensly as Alvaro placed down card after card until finally he was down to one. Looking at his own hand he had a total of three. This could go one of two ways. Alvaro could be very lucky and draw a card that would allow him to win the game, or be very unlucky and not draw the right card. Kero’s three cards weren’t too bad. He had three and a four in his hand. If he could play either of those cards he would be down to one. Sadly his other card was a nine. It would take at least two draws for Kero to win the game. That meant Alvaro had double the advantage... But as Kero thought about all this a tiny voice whispered in his mind. He was over thinking the entire thing. It was nothing more than a silly game. " I think you've won" Kero flipped his own card as Alvaro reached for his. It was a then! It meant he could least put his nine down, and he did before looking up to see if Alvaro got the card he needed.

Alvaro grinned a little when Kero had stated he thought he had won. However, he simply waited to see what was flipped. Upon seeing a King, Alvaro grinned a little and set the Ace he had down on it. "And indeed, it does seem I've won," he laughed a little finally sitting back a bit now. "Though you were close, heh." Slowly, Alvaro found the back of his mind starting to defog again. It seemed as though whatever had caused it had finally stopped, and although he was still unsure as to what it was, Alvaro decided to leave it be and simply go on again. "You picked it up pretty fast though............" Alvaro stated slowly becoming if a tad more serious than his usual light air of sorts. "Which is always good." After a moment, he leaned forwards and grinned. "Want to play again?"

“ I’m not sure how I caught up. ” Kero laughed as he picked up the cards and started shuffling them. Or at least... attempted to. He actually wasn’t very good at it. Defiantly wasn’t anything fancy. “ You were dropping cards left right and center and than... you just weren’t.” Alvaro’s next comment and expression gave Kero the feeling that Alvaro was a bit of the competitive type. But the man was right. Kero was good at picking things up rather fast. Or at least understanding how things worked quickly. He wasn’t always good at the things he knew about. The beast example of that was his art work. He just wouldn’t be good at it no matter how much he tried. “ I have a feeling Im about to lose again” Kero grinned handing Alvaro the deck of cards, “ But Im up to the challenge. ” How could he say no? The game was fun, it tested his skills, it gave him a chance to compete and it appeared like Alvaro liked the game a lot. They were all pluses and no negitives.

A light laugh escaped from Alvaro at Kero's words, and he simply found himself smirking a little . "Maybe," he answered back. "Want to divide the cards this time?" he asked looking at the cards in Kero's hand. The set up was rather easy to put together anyways. A sudden smacking sound could be heard, and Alvaro's head turned rather sharply looking to see that Desu had Ring bent over with one ghostly hand was spanking a flailing Elgyem with another. <Ring I swear I can't let you alone for half a second before you go off using your powers. It's disrespectful to humans and immature. I don't WANT to be your mother, but it seems I'm going to HAVE to be> Desu was muttering to himself as Ring flailed. <But he was winning and and and I wanted to level the field it was FAIR!> Ring complained. <Don't you tell ME what's fair> was all the Cofagrigus answered back with. Alvaro sweat dropped greatly with the reason for the punish lost on him, and after a few seconds, he found his head turning to one side in confusion. After a few more seconds, Desu had set Ring down again, and Alvaro found himself laughing a little and shaking his head still unsure of what that was about. Looking back at Kero, the green haired man shrugged his shoulders a little grinning sheepishly.

“ Oh, sure” Kero replied as he pulled the cards back and began to place them down just as Alvaro had done the first time, “ Does that... look... right?” His question was half distracted as too heard the smacking sounds and looked over. Much to Kero’s surprise Desu was disciplining Ring for some reason or another. Kero had to admit, he had never seen a pokemon discipline another pokemon before. It looked the same as when Kero use to get in trouble as a child. Kero’s eyes raised to Alvaro’s giving him a look that read, ‘Does this happen often?’ He then picked up his cards and gave them a look over. This time he began moving them around a bit before starting the game. If he put them in order then perhaps he use better combo’s this time around. Though he wasn’t sure if this would help at all. He was probably over thinking it again. “ Ready?” Kero asked with a grin, placing his hand over the first un-flipped card.

Alvaro sweat dropped for another few seconds before finally shrugging his shoulders and then reaching towards the flip card. Oh wait....hah... hand... Reaching down, he picked up five cards and then looked down at them for a good second or two before reaching towards the five stack. "Looks good," he grinned before waiting until Kero had flipped to actually flip his card. The game began again, and Alvaro moved once again as quickly and fluidly as before. Without the headache from Ring, he continued to keep his speedy pace and even started talking while he continued to move . "Pokemon are odd creatures sometimes," he half laughed. "But they make life more fun, which is always good." His mind was on not only Desu and Ring but all the pokemon he had seen while wandering and the like. Suddenly stopping as he found himself caught unable to move, Alvaro looked up at Kero and waited to see if he would continue.... No... more like... how much longer he'd be able to continue, heh.

Kero once again locked himself into concentration as he attempted to place the cards down as fast as he could. He still wasn’t going even close to as fast as Alvaro was and his cards were decreasing at a much slower rate. He had almost missed hearing what Alvaro had said, but luckily something in the back of his mind whispered to him that Alvaro had spoken. “ Without pokemon I think people would have destroyed this land by now.” Kero replied truly believing these words. He was certain that it was because of the pokemon that humans learned to work together with the land they were given rather than taking over and using up all of its resources all at once. “ They’ve taught us a lot throughout history, protected us, worked with us and yet asked for very little in return. It why... oh shoot.” He had placed down his last card and ran out of moves. The problem was, if he had of placed down the other card in his hand he could have gotten rid of four other cards before running of moves. It was too late now though. “ I can’t put down anymore” Kero stated, looking up at Alvaro with a silly grin before getting ready to turn around another card.

Alvaro seemed to nod a bit at Kero's words and then grinned a little as both of them were stuck. "I am too," he answered back with a grin. After a moment, he reached for a card and then flipped it before frowning greatly seeing as he was stcuk yet again. Oh... That just sucked..... However, after a moment, Alvaro found himself giggling a little. Well, his luck had to run out sooner or later, neh? "Heh, indeed. I'd probably be dead by now without Stella," he finally stated returning to the conversation as he placed his hand over yet another flip card and waited to see if Kero would place down a few or so before he got stuck as well.

Kero flipped his card over and instantly began putting more cards down. It seemed he was getting lucky with Alvaro being unable to make a move. “ I know I would be if weren’t for Charizard.” Which was fully true. He’d have died along side his mother and father at the age of five. Though he didn’t like dwelling on that past, “ But I suppose just like people there are a few pokemon who would be willing to harm another.” He had never seen one doing something considered ‘wrong’ without the influence of a human but was certain there were pokemon who did. Finally he ran out of moves again and appeared to be in almost the same situation as the last game. He had exactly 3 cards left, two that could work together and one that was completely different.

The green haired man listened and nodded at Kero's words. Pokemon... also probed to keep his attention span of sorts...heh...........Shaking this thought away, Alvaro looked at his cards. Upon seeing how many cards that Kero had, Alvaro smirked a bit. "It looks like you're about to win," he said turning his head to one side. He still had a good ten cards if not more. He couldn't be sure considering he couldn't touch the pile in front of himself until he'd spent what was in his hand. After a moment, he grinned at Kero and then flipped yet another flip card. Thankfully, he could lose the bulk of his hand on that one flip, but as he picked up the others, he nearly face/palmed at finding that he'd stuck himself again. Ring, who had gone back to watching the game, seemed to be grinning a little at Alvaro being at least partially irritated at something other than... Ring himself, heh.

" I think purely by luck. Kero replied as he flipped his card and was able to set down two more of his cards. If his luck hadn't run dry than the next flip he would hopefully win though Kero wasn't counting on it. One's luck always ran dry when used too much. At least that's what Kero believed. Sure enough his luck had run out, just not in the way Kero had expected. Gastly, who hadn't been around since the games started, suddenly appeared between both Alvaro and Kero. He was upset about something though Kero couldn't understand any of his words to be sure about what. Apparently as Gastly had been searching the building he had noticed another living thing inside it. Sadly when went to say hello to the thing it vanished or left... What it came down to was that Gastly had been unable to say hello. Now he couldn't find the creature to finish saying hello which upset him. " Why don't you get some snakes out of the bag Gastly." Kero suggested knowing that the mention of food often caused Gastly to forget whatever it was that had upset him. It had worked. Gastly instantly began to smile and before leaving to grab the food gave Kero a nice wet kiss. The movement was enough to blow the cards on the floor around a bit and knocking them out of there piles. Kero hadn't noticed this until Gastly was gone and he looked down again. " Oh shoot." Was the first thing that came out of Kero's mouth when noticed.

"Luck and Chance," Alvaro half laughed shaking his head. Indeed, chance seemed to be more the player in Alvaro's outlook on things. When it came down to it, only a few things could be predicted, and Alvaro didn't bother with the future anyways. As he flipped another card, he set down five cards in a row and then picked up his last five. However, when he looked up, he noticed that the Gastly had come back. Blinking in confusion as the ghost hovered, Alvaro stared rather confused. After a few seconds, it seemed Kero had settled the Gastly and then leaving. However, when Alvaro looked back down, he noticed that the piles and things were now upset and throw about in every which way. Suddenly grinning a bit, Alvaro found himself bursting out laughing. "Well it looks like the cards decided they didn't want to play anymore," he chuckled rather hard at this shaking his head a bit and trying to settle himself but finding himself unable to. "Ah well, I have a feeling you would have won that one if the twist hadn't been thrown out." He grinned a bit and slowly set down his hand showing several different cards that held no relation to one another. After a moment, Alvaro seemed to cringe a little from sitting in the same position for so long and slowly uncrossed his legs before twisting his form around and laying on his stomach on the floor. Propping his head on his hand, he seemed to look at the cards that were still scattered for a few seconds. "Hm...."

“ Something just didn’t want me to get that last bit of satisfaction” Kero sighed dropping his last card to the ground to join the others. As Alvaro began to lie down Kero started to work at removing his cap and head band. Now that they were inside Kero really had no reason to continue wearing them. Once they were off he folded and set them to one side before looking down at Alvaro. “ I wonder if anyone else ever spent the night here before...” Kero asked aloud before noticing something pick up his head band. It wasn’t a surprise to Kero when saw Gastly had picked it up. It seemed the pokemon was done with its food already and also forgotten about what had upset him. Now Kero’s head band was going to become the next victim. “ Put it down” Kero scolded Gastly giving the pokemon a rather stern look. Of course Gastly didn’t listen at all and instead floated off towards the stairs. Sighing Kero stood up and went after the pokemon. Only problem was, he forgot that he had to careful when getting closer to the stairs. Sadly, by the time he remembered it was too late. When he stepped down the floor made a loud cracking sound and fell into its self a bit. It caused Kero to trip, his body hitting the ground a foot away with a loud thud. “ Owe...” Kero complained after his eyes looking over at small dint in the floor, “ That was close” Gastly instantly burst out into laughter at this. Kero on the other hand was just happy the floor hadn’t completely given way. That was... until he heard another crack. Kero was about ready to crawl to a safer spot but it was too late once again. The floor boards gave way so fast the entire thing beneath him began to fall, hitting the ground in the room below. Kero had reached out his hand just fast enough to catch the side of the hole. Before Kero could yell at Gastly for this, the pokemon quickly raced over to Kero’s cape and dropped the head band back down. As Kero hung there he could hear more cackling of the floor. He wasn’t sure if the part he was holding onto starting to break as well or if another part of the floor was breaking somewhere else. “ Are you guys ok?” Was the first thing that came out of his mouth upon hearing the floors cracking some more. Yet after asking his question he realized how silly it was. He should have been a bit more worried about himself at the moment. After all, it was he who was dangling through a floor.

Alvaro had slowly started picking up the cards again setting and putting them back in a pile of sorts. “I wonder if anyone else ever spent the night here before...” For half a second, Alvaro's eyes looked up from the cards, and for a brief moment, he simply stared. Kero.... looked a bit different without his cap and headband..... However, Alvaro didn't have a chance to keep staring for it seemed that the Gastly had picked up both accessories of sorts. A half smirk came to Alvaro's face as Kero ordered the ghost to set them down, and for a moment, Alvaro wondered whether or not the Gastly would actually do it or not. However, his question was answered as the Gastly simply floated off towards the stairs. Watching Kero get up and go after the ghost, Alvaro suddenly found himself trying to remember what was special on the stairs....er....However, the crack certainly reminded him, and the green haired man found himself sitting up. "Be care-" he started, yet as Kero tripped, Alvaro simply shut his mouth again and frowned a little. After a moment, he slowly stepped up and started over more or less to help Kero up. However, the second crack caused Alvaro to freeze thinking that it was below him. Instead, it was Kero's movements, and as Alvaro realized this, he watched Kero go falling through the floor. "Kero!" Alvaro hadn't even realized he had shouted until it reverberated in the air. In half a second, he found himself moving fast towards the stairs. The boards creaked under his feet, yet he ignored it. “Are you guys ok?” Alvaro stopped for a moment realizing that he could easily fall through the floor as well. The muscles in the green haired man's legs tensed at more sounds of cracking. Slowly making his way over, Alvaro finally managed to get over to the hole. Slowly getting down on his knees, the green haired man extended an arm. "Grab hol-" he had started to say, yet the cracking sound under him caused Alvaro to pale. In another second, the floor under him cracked and feel right out from under him. In half a second, Alvaro fell through the hole. His hand reached out to grab the edge, yet he missed it at the last second. Shit.

There was slight relief when he heard Alvaro’s voice but that was quickly washed away the moment his voice was cut off. There was more crackling sounds and Kero could feel the floor boards in his hands start to move. His mind only had enough time to conjure the word, ‘shoot’ before he felt the rest of the floor give way. It didn’t take long for Kero’s body to make another thud sound as he landed on the floor below. A small “ Ohhhhh...” sound came out of his mouth after he landed letting everyone know he was at least alive. However he didn’t move for a long moment. After a few moments he finally sat himself up. His movements were slow as body was stinging all over. His head hurt a bit but lucky he didn’t feel like anything in his body was broken. Just a few scraps and defiantly bruising. “ Alvaro? Kero’s eyes moved to the side looking for his friend, “ Are you alive? He really hoped the headache would go away soon. More so then that he hoped Alvaro was ok. If Alvaro was hurt because of Kero’s dumb mistake he would never forgive himself. A rather confused look crossed Kero’s face when he couldn’t see Alvaro. Should the man have fallen right beside... wait... was the spot he was sitting on suppose to be... “ Oh, shoot Im so sorry.” Kero suddenly found his left over energy and quickly moved over. He had been half sitting on Alvaro the entire time.

Alvaro hit the floor flat on his stomach. When Kero's form had hit a second later, Alvaro felt the last of the breath knocked out of him. He didn't even have the voice enough to say 'ow' at that point. Instead, he simply lay on his stomach feeling a tad dazed and in pain. Both of his eyes were squished together as he flinched more or less. Thankfully, he hadn't been knocked out. “Alvaro? Are you alive?" Alvaro didn't answer not because he was spiteful but becuase it was kinda hard to talk at that moment . “Oh, shoot I'm so sorry.” As Kero moved, Alvaro slowly sat up only to see that his clip had moved itself and was now somehow clipping the back part of his hair. Slowly pulling it off his head, Alvaro groaned a little. "Did I make a good landing pad?" he chuckled a little despite the fact that it hurt to laugh. Upon sitting up fully, he put both hands on his back and then pushed rather hard on it. Six gentle 'pops' could be heard as Alvaro realigned his own vertebrae. "Ah, there we go...." he sighed a little allowing his form to completely relax again. "Well..." After a second, Alvaro slowly looked up towards the ceiling. Desu was now staring down through one of the holes looking extremely worried. However, when Alvaro seemed to be fine (as well as Kero though Desu wouldn't admit this under most circumstances), he relaxed a little and sighed. A sudden sound hit Alvaro's ears, and for a moment, he looked straight across the room not seeing anything. Blinking slowly, Alvaro was quiet then and there.

“ Kept me from breaking my tail bone” Kero laughed a bit though in all honesty it was probably true. With the way he had landed it should have all ended rather badly. They were lucky to have not broken anything. Though they did have one problem now; how were they going to get back up stairs? He was about to voice this question when too heard the sound. Quickly he turned his head in hopes to actually see what it was. Yet again, whatever was in this tower was out of sight. There was an off chance that whatever made the sound wasn’t the same creature as before but kero had a good feeling it was. He really wished they could at least know what it was. If it were a pokemon or maybe a real live spirit. But then... would the spirit be considered a pokemon as well? He knew there was one type of pokemon that was once human, died and became a pokemon. They kept a mask of their human face on their tails so he heard. Kero had actually never seen one though. “ Just remember that whatever it is stalking this tower is friendly,” Kero blurted out more to comfort himself than Alvaro, “ It found us pencils after all.” What unfriendly creature would give someone pencils? “ We also need to figure out another way to get back upstairs.” He added.

Alvaro half chuckled to himself at Kero's comment on the tail bone after a few seconds. As Kero stated his thoughts on the specter of sorts that roamed the castle, the green haired man slowly became serious again. "I think....... it was worried for us," he finally answered back before slowly smiling and shaking his head a tad. "But ya...." he continued as his eyes slowly rose to the ceiling now. "RING? Can you teleport us up there?" Alvaro called. However, for some reason or another, the top level was silent. An odd chill went through Alvaro. Ring was never one to ignore him... Truth be told, he often formed a response in different ways than what one wanted or expected, yet he always did respond. However, as far as Alvaro could tell, there was no answer. Looking back at Kero, Alvaro frowned a little and then looked towards the stairs. Shaking his head, the green haired man put a hand to his chin. Again, something caught purple eyes, and finally Alvaro caught sight of the full form of what appeared to be a partially see-through being that stared at him for a good second before fleeing into the darkness of the room. Alvaro looked at Kero and then back to where he had seen the form.
