It seemed this battle was turning into an all-out brawl. Well Alice wasn't about to let her shinx take on two pokemon at once. In a flash of light came one of the most beautiful pokemon in existence. Venus the milotic entered the chamber, coiled on the stone floor. She watched the scene closely, and not liking what she saw. The water type felt the need to protect her teammate that was currently underneath an umbreon. "Venus, help Storm." Alice ordered. "Use protect." The milotic slid across the stone to position herself in front of Storm. A forcefield appeared between her and the umbreon.
Storm had been wounded by the umbreon. He was not expecting an attack from it at all and was vulnerable. Luckily he had been able to wriggle himself free just before Venus came to the rescue. She could handle the umbreon, the abra was still his target.
Alice saw how weak the abra was and realized that she had to hurry. She found an empty pokeball in her bag and pressed the middle button. Now was as good a time as ever to try to catch the abra. With a movement of her arm she launched the pokeball toward her target, hoping that it would come quietly and join her team. If not, then she could always have Storm go in for the kill with a bite attack.

Unfortunately, the water type could not dodge the unavoidable attack and sustained some damage. However, the ice ball hit the wingull directly in the beak and, dejected it flew off. It seemed the wingull in these parts weren't very brave. Hearing all the commotion from the shore, a seel came to investigate. It eyed Matilda and her spheal warily, wondering why they were battling wingull in the first place. The seel kept its distance and was ready to rush back into the water if the trainer decided to attack.

Storm quickly be annoying with the abra's evasive maneuver. His eyes kept darting back and forth, trying to keep track of where it was. <Hey!> He yelled at it, <Stay still so I can hit you!> His complaint probably wouldn't have any effect on what the psychic did, but Storm still felt better after letting his feelings be known.
Alice saw that most attacks would be useless until she weakened the abra somehow. Anxiously she watched the umbreon rush to grab berries. She hoped that it would stick around after she caught the abra. That is, if the abra didn't escape again once the umbreon was finished with its business. She had to attack the abra somehow, "Storm attack with shock wave." Alice remembered that shock wave was an unavoidable move so it wouldn't matter how much abra teleported, the electricity would envelop the whole room. Her pokemon happily complied, sending out a wave of electrical energy to hit the psychic.

Alice was immediately thrilled to see the abra again and was eager to attack it, but then she saw the umbreon. Torn between wanting both pokemon, she decided that capturing the abra should be her main concern. Of course, getting the abra to stay and fight would be no easy matter. Abra are notoriously flighty and difficult to catch. This should be a challenge, she thought. As shinx is an electric type, she thought it would be a good idea to start off by paralyzing the abra to keep it at bay.
"Storm use thunder wave on that abra." She pointed a finger at the psychic pokemon and the shinx pounced toward it. Storm growled as electric energy was released from his body, aimed toward his foe.

Storm hissed at the gastly with his fur sticking up at odd angles. His little teeth were revealed and his body shook in what he believed was a terrifying display. Then, with his show of bravery over with, Storm scurried to hide behind his trainer's legs. Alice laughed at her shinx and moved forward, trying to show him that it was safe to keep going. Not really convinced, Storm kept his wary eyes on the ghost type.
They were nearing the end of the passageway and Alice could see that there was more room up ahead. The cramped space opened up into a small chamber. Alice explored the space curiously, it looked like people had been in here leaving offerings in the shrine. That was interesting. Surely this couldn't be the treasure though, it was just knickknacks and old food. "Now," She wondered aloud, "Where's that abra?"

The first wingull was alarmed by the fist flying at it and so it fled back into the air. It deftly avoided the beam of light then entertained itself with laughing at the other wingull that was hit by the powder snow. The bird that was hit by the assault of snow cawed loudly then flew away in fear. He hadn't signed up for a fight with a human and feared being captured. The other wingull was more determind, however, and now wanted a fight. It sent a shock wave toward the spheal with a joyful cry.

Alice saw the flash of something in her peripherals. She turned her head to see an abra beside the drowzee they had just battled. It had teleported right in front of her! Now THAT was what she was after. Just as quickly as it materialized, it was gone again. If only she knew where it had gone? What an uncanny talent that abra had. Alice felt safer already, imagining herself with the ability to escape whenever the slightest bit of danger presented itself. Unfortunately the abra was gone, faster than she could react. Alice crossed her arms, feeling disappointed and disgruntled. Well the only thing she could do was keep walking and hope that she could locate where the abra had brought drowzee.
Dante wasn't even sure why Alice needed a psychic type to teleport her places. He was fast enough to get her away from danger, hadn't be proven that already? Still, as her pokemon it was his job to make her happy. He was angry with himself for not being fast enough to attack the abra before it fled.
Alice looked at her fiery companion and decided that if she saw the abra again, he wouldn't be the best pokemon to use. She took out his pokeball, maximized it, then let him take a rest inside. Then, to replace her source of light, Alice grabbed a different pokeball then released her shinx. The cat pokemon stretched, happy to be out of his container. He looked around curiously, wondering where they were and why it was so dark. He used a flash to light up the area, satisfied that now he could see. Alice stroked Storm's head gently then walked with him at her ankles further down into the temple.

Alice was relieved that the drowzee wasn't going to fight back any more. Now all that was left was deciding what to do with it. Catching it was an option, obviously, but was that the best idea? She wanted a psychic pokemon, but more importantly one that could get her out of risky situations. Dante could use hypnosis, so having a drowzee really wouldn't be that useful. Alice turned to her shiny ponyta for deliberation, "Do you think I should make this drowzee part of our team?" She asked him. Giving the expected answer, Dante quickly shook his flaming head. <Absolutely not.> He couldn't keep the disdain from weaving into his voice. Alice shrugged, content with the decision not to use a pokeball on the drowzee. Instead, she continued on with the much weakened Dante. "Do you need a rest?" Alice was a bit concerned. The ponyta stood up taller as if to display his health, <I'm fine.>

Dante woke up violently after having his dream eaten. He was furious at the drowzee and wanted to knock it out. He hardly wanted to wait for his trainer to give him a command, he was so anxious to get rid of this psychic nuisance. There were two things Dante didn't like, psychics and ghosts. He preferred to battle physical attackers that he could defeat head on.
Alice felt guilty for disturbing the peace in the temple, but now that she had started a battle she felt obligated to finish it. Maybe if Dante used a strong move they could end the battle before causing any more trouble. "Flareblitz!" She called out. This attack would be devastating to both Dante and the drowzee, but hopefully it would be enough to end the battle.

Suddenly, a loud ruckus blew in from the sea. Two wingull were fighting in midair, squawking and pestering each other all the while. They exchanged dive-bombs and shot water guns in the direction of one another. Their squabble was growing closer to the ice type user and soon they were right above her head. The sea-birds looked down quickly at Matilda and noticed her hair flowing in the breeze. Immediately they decided that this was what they were fighting over at the moment. One lighted down on her head, its talons grabbing chunks of hair. Meanwhile the other wingull aimed water guns at the other which came close to hitting the human.

Dante wobbled on his feet, waving back and forth uneasily. He tried to resist the attack but ended up submitting to its effects. The shiny ponyta fell into a deep sleep on the stone floor. Alice was worried for a moment, then remembered that Dante could use a move while asleep - snore. She hoped that he would be able to hear her while asleep, she had never tried to use this move before. It was now or never.
"Dante," She called, louder than before. "Snore!" As if on cue the ponyta snorted loudly and tossed around in his sleep. His legs flailed and one of his hooves hit the wall. He continued to make loud sleepy noises that would do damage to the psychic type.

Alice chuckled slightly at the sight of the pokemon. The sentret and pachirisu were very cute playing tag. If Storm were out of his pokeball he might have wanted to play too. Dante was a bit irritated by the smaller pokemon running around his legs and he did his best to avoid stepping on them - alright, maybe he tried to step on their tails. Alice thought the drowzee was silly looking with its outrageously large nose, but it was a psychic type. That fact made her pause and watch it for a moment. As far as she knew drowzee weren't able to use teleport, but they could put people and pokemon to sleep. Maybe she should catch this pokemon just in case she didn't encounter any other psychics while in the temple.
"Dante," She whispered. The ponyta turned his head toward his trainer, hoping that he would finally get to battle. Alice smiled, knowing her pokemon's eagerness to fight. "Use wi-o-wisp on the drowzee."
Small orbs of flame puffed out of the ponyta's mouth toward the drowzee. This attack would only burn it, but Alice was trying to do damage to the drowzee without doing damage to the shrine.

Alice wasn't exactly interested in the chimecho but hoped it wouldn't attack. Alice wondered how it had gotten itself stuck in the roof and how it would free itself. She supposed it wasn't any of her business and the pokemon wouldn't have put itself there if it wasn't able to get out. Dante's flames lit the temple very well and the teen noticed that the floor was gradually slanting downwards. There were stone steps not far away and Alice thought quickly of being lost down here. She looked back over her shoulder at where they had come from and decided that since it was a straight line, they would not get lost.

The idea of catching a gastly was tempting. It would eventually evolve into a gengar, and those were strong, right? She had heard that ghost pokemon were powerful, but they were also quite creepy so she kept her distance. Dante didn't seem to like being near a ghost either. His nostrils flared nervously and he paused for a moment. Alice gave him a gentle push from behind which encouraged the shiny ponyta to continue.
The pair made their way around the ghost pokemon, doing their best not to touch it. After they were past the gastly Alice glanced back quickly. Maybe its evolved forms were somewhere in the temple, maybe if she traveled deeper into the stone shrine she would find stronger pokemon. What Alice really wanted however was a psychic type. They would be very useful to her and would make it easier for her to relax. If Alice had a pokemon that could use teleport, she could afford to let her guard down more. With teleport an escape route was just a second away.

Alice felt that the silence in the temple was even more noticeable than the silence of the forest outside. This kind of quiet was stifled, forced - while outside one could be as loud as they wished but simply chose not to be. However, there was something holy about the temple which immediately filled Alice with a sense of respect. She didn't really want to disturb anyone or anything in the shrine unless provoked (or if she saw a pokemon she really wanted).
Dante reared up, his flames glowing a brilliant blue. Alice forced him down, "No." She whispered scoldingly, "They're not doing anything but existing here. I promise I'll find a fight for you outside, or maybe we could ride through the woods, ok?" The flaming horse pokemon dropped back to his hooves and nodded, <Oh fine.> He agreed reluctantly, <But it sure would be fun to stomp on those buneary's heads...> He added quietly. Alice rolled her eyes and continued past the pokemon.
She reached the narrow entrance into the dark passageway and motioned for Dante to go onward. As the ponyta walked his hoofsteps echoed loudly against the stone floors and walls.
Alice had heard rumors of treasures hidden in this temple and rare pokemon within its bowels. She intended on finding out if the rumors were true. If they were valid, well she hadn't exactly planned things that far yet.

Alice had been wandering aimlessly through the forest all morning. It was a leisurely hike and she would pause every so often to enjoy the feel of the forest. A couple pokemon had crossed her path, none of which really interested her. A group of butterfree and a zigzagoon weren't exactly prime targets for catching, so Alice let them go on their way. The woods smelt very fresh this summer morning for it had rained a small bit the night before. Some spare drops still gripped the leaves and plummeted to the ground when it was their time. It was an entirely tranquil scene.
Then she had come to a break in the pattern of trees to find a clearing. The forest thinned out, revealed a shrine surrounded by small huts. Was this a village? She questioned silently. It looked too small to be a legitimate settlement. Alice had been hoping to travel through the east without meeting many people. The less people she saw the less chance they had of recognizing her. Then again, when it came to such a rural area, people generally remembered the few faces they saw that day. It certainly was a trade off, and Alice couldn't decide whether it was fair or not. She supposed that both rural and urban places had their dangers and positive points.
The traveler drew closer to the shrine. It appeared old and not very well taken care of. It was crumbling in spots and she imagined that should she reach out and touch it, a whole wall might collapse. Not a very safe place to be exploring, she noted. But if it's been standing this long, what's the chance of it falling today? There was her optimism just ready to spur her into adventure.
Alice peeked into the shrine and saw a large open room where the sun illuminated, and then a very dark corridor continuing down. She decided that she needed her pokemon's help. Dante appeared from his pokeball, bucking and snorting excitedly. "You've gotta stop that now." She reminded him, "We're about to go in there and if you do that it might fall on top of you." That seemed to calm the shiny ponyta down and with a grunt he trotted ahead of Alice. His trainer followed him into the temple, wondering what lay ahead.

Adrian streamed through the desert with the afternoon sun blazing in front of her. It was a bit blinding to say the least, and she couldn't well keep her shades on while riding her motor cycle. It was something a desert-dweller had to get used to. The sun was like a constant companion in an empty wasteland. It wasn't completely empty though. Adrian disliked the name wasteland, she preferred the term hidden treasure-land. There were plenty of good things about the desert, and plenty of pokemon that resided there.
She was nearing one of the desert's greatest treasures now. The shadow pokemon laboratory was somewhat of a landmark. With the exception of the occasional cactus, one could travel half the desert without seeing anything but sand. This building was alone out in the middle of no where, and that was because of its unique nature. Crafted from the desert sands, this building had a specific purpose. Some might deem this purpose evil, but Adrian thought otherwise. There was no such thing as good and evil to her, only power and those that keep her from it.
The duchess stopped a good distance from the sand-smothered building. She parked her cycle then looked out behind her. A speck on the horizon grew larger with every passing second until a hulking tauros panted beside her. "You've been slacking on your training, Valencia." Adrian chastised.
<Si, si, senora> The bull pokemon replied apologetically <Yo se.> He seemed very disappointed in himself. To reassure her pokemon, Adrian patted him lightly on the nose. "Come on, we have business here." The pair walked side by side toward the blocked off doors of the lab. Now all she wondered was where Alias could be.

A young girl staggered down the beach, her weary limbs barely able to trudge through the sand. She yawned drowsily while looking out to the lake. It was late at night and everything seemed especially dark. The sky was cloudy, the air muggy, and the water full of shadows.
Alice eventually decided on a spot that was far enough down the coastline where most people wouldn't bother going. She could still spot the city lights of escapade from where she was, but it was a while off. She plopped down near a patch of trees where the earth consisted more of dirt than sand. Her body slumped tiredly over her knees as she threw her backpack down. From one of its pockets she withdrew two pokeballs. From one came her shiny ponyta Dante, and from the other came her shinx Storm. Normally the fire type would be on edge, but he saw how exhausted his trainer was and thought that it would be better to stay calm for her. He laid down next to a tree and Alice rested her head on his side. Storm took his usual spot on her lap and curled up into a neat ball.
Finally with a place to spend the night, Alice set to getting comfortable. She took her sneakers off which were filled with the white sand. She emptied them into a pile then after they were properly shaken out she put them back on. A loud yawn was the only side beside the lapping of the water's edge. Vaguely the teen thought of going for a swim in the morning with her milotic, even though she didn't have a bathing suit. The lights from Escapade reminded her that if she needed to, she could always buy one from there. Her funds were getting low and she had been considering finding employment or some other way to make cash. That worry could wait until the morning, though. For now Alice was mainly preoccupied with sleep. As she laid her head back on Dante her hat slid over her eyes. With a sigh she drifted off.

The woman put her hands on her hips while she looked at the little pink pokemon, "You want another?" She asked teasingly then reached into the jar to give the happiny another treat. She nodded when Yue asked for pokeballs. Those were one of the most popular things that sold in her shop. She knew just where the merchandise was. The woman bent down behind the counter and came back with a case of pokeballs. "There's ten for you. That'll be another 200."
