Riku stood in front of the Shadow Factory, her two Pokemon by her side. To her left, her loyal and adoring Ampharos, Angel, who would do anything for her dear trainer.. and to her right, a bouncing ball of blue fur on a sugar high, Cookie the Riolu. He seemed excited, and indeed he should be; Riku had brought her Pokemon here for training exercises. Double battle exercises, to be exact. She WOULD need to find two Pokemon at a time to do this, but she could manage. And if she found only single Pokemon, well, Cookie could try fighting on his own.

With an amused grin, she began to explore the area, looking for any good spots where Pokemon might be hiding out waiting for battles..

[Jay]

The Shadow Pokemon factory had a large new metal gate surrounding it now, yet the area around it was still rather untouched. A Numel was not far away digging in the sand for something. What was it looking for? None could tell.

[Rarity]

Giving a soft growl, Riku tried the obvious metal gate. No such luck, of course it was locked.

"Angel, see if you can find any ways in.." Riku said to her Ampharos, who nodded and went off to look for gaps in the fence, weak places, spots to dig beneath.. ect. Meanwhile, Riku had spotted the digging Numel and approached it, crouching down to look at its digging spot.

"What are you digging for?" she inquired, and she was indeed merely curious of what the fire-type was doing. Cookie, little blue fluffball that he was, scampered to the hole and tried to help the Numel dig..

[Jay]

The fence appeared newly constructed and had not breaks or weak points that appeared obvious to the eye. However, it appeared that something was coming around the corner also investigating the area.

The Numel looked up at the human before stating its name and going back to digging. As it continued digging, it uncovered a Voltorb who suddenly blinked in confusion.

[Rarity]

Angel was frustrated that there was no way around or through the fence.. What else could she do to help her trainer out? She couldn't think of a thing, and so she flopped down in the sand on her rump and stared at the factory. Some help Angel was.

Cookie, immediately upon seeing the shiny red Voltorb, jumped up with joy. He thought it was a toy ball and put a paw onto it to roll it out of the hole, laughing in his puppy-like way.

Riku nearly gasped when she realized what her Riolu was doing.

"Cookie, nooooo. Nonononono." she said, snatching the pup from around the waist and pulling him into her lap. "You don't wanna make that ball mad, honey."

[Jay]

The Voltorb was rather confused at being rolled for a moment, and after another moment, the Numel seemed to roll the other pokemon out of the hole fully. After a moment of realizing what was happening, the Voltorb released a Self Destruct.

[Rarity]

As soon as Riku realized that the Voltorb was going to explode, she pulled Cookie close to her chest and turned away from the blast, clutching the Riolu as tightly as a child would hold a doll when in need of comfort. The explosion knocked Riku forward a bit, but she held her balance and didn't gain any injuries.

Cookie didn't like to be held so tightly, and wriggled to be let down when he heard the sound of the boom, curiosity making him wonder what the sound had been. When Riku loosened her grip, the blue puppy leapt to the ground and ran the few feet back to where the soot-covered Voltorb lay next to the hole. Having not learned his lesson the first time, Cookie poked at the Electric-type with his paw.

When she heard the noise, Angel had turned to make her way back out of concern for her dear trainer. She wondered what kind of trouble Riku had gotten into before she arrived and realized that - of course! - it was that Riolu that Riku coddled so that was causing the problem. The ewe snatched Cookie up with her flipperarms and walked back to the fence, placing him on the ground and scolding him in a stern tone. It was something like 'listen to your trainer, don't ever play with Voltorb, you are such a child'...

[Jay]

The Numel had been knocked out from the explosion and lay on the ground not far off. The Voltorb itself was out cold as well and didn't seem to make any sort of motion.

[Rarity]

Riku tilted her head and looked from the Voltorb to the Numel and back again, then approached the Numel and nudged it with a foot. It was absolutely out cold. She did the same to the Voltorb; once again, done for. She shrugged and dropped a Pokeball on each Pokemon. One of them might be useful later, or perhaps they'd quickly become valued members of the team.

"Alright, Cookie.. Let's go find other Pokemon for you to actually battle, okay?" The blue puppy had been looking slightly sad since she had tossed Pokeballs at the Pokemon and they had disappeared, but he lit up at the suggestion.

"Ruh ruh!" he barked, prancing in circles. Riku chuckled and glanced around to see if she could find other Pokemon. Angel did the same, of course.

[Jay]

The pokeball snapped over the Numel first and dinged without much protest.

Ability: Oblivious
Personality: An avid tracker, this Numel tends to dig quite a lot when he catches the scent of something. He can often be seen looking around when on his own. He is a rather sturdy pokemon and doesn't seem to startle too easily.


The pokeball closed around the Voltorb and made no protest at all.

Gender: Male
Ability: Static
Personality: Startled extremely easily and prone to exploding when startled, this Voltorb will take some training to calm down. He's rather tough when engaged in an actual battle, but even this takes some prodding.


Not far off, something went running by.

And with absolutely no hesitation whatsoever, the running.. whatever it was.. caused Cookie to suddenly charge away to pursue it. Riku quickly ran after him herself, Angel close behind as the three of them chased the running thing that was escaping. A quiet thought in the back of Riku's mind hoped that it was something rare, like one of the shadow Pokemon that this factory was famous for having once produced, but the thought left her mind as quickly as it had come.

[Jay]

Whatever was running seemed to speed up and turned a corner sharply. However, after that, all motion stopped, and the form disappeared completely. What had happened? Suddenly, something was moving up behind Riku now. An Electrike had run all the way around the building and was now behind the woman.

[Rarity]

Riku started when she realized that the Pokemon was behind her and turned to see that it was just a little Electrike. She couldn't help but utter a quiet 'aww!' when she saw it. However, it was then that she realized that it was still.. running.. towards her..

At the very last moment Riku jumped aside to allow the green Pokemon to rush past her without harm, and she ordered Cookie to try to stop it. The Riolu yapped and rushed to try getting in front of the other Pokemon so he could convince it to stop running.

[Jay]

As the Riolu got in front of him, the Electrike tripped and went crashing into the small dog pokemon tumbling as he went. Somewhere in the world, a physics nerd just laughed.

[Rarity]

The trainer's purple eyes flashed suddenly as she realized that she could easily catch the Electrike with a well-aimed Pokeball right now. With a dark smirk, she took a ball from her bag and attempted just that, calling on Cookie to get him to move out of the way of her throw. The blue Riolu tried to untangle himself from the Electrike to get away when his name was called, wondering what his trainer needed from him so suddenly.

[Jay]

The Pokeball hit the Electrike and hit the ground flailing wildly before finally breaking. The electrical pokemon shook out his hide and then leered at the human as though irritated with the attempt to take him in so easily. Forming a Spark attack, the Electrike released said attack.

[Rarity]

Riku's smirk faded when the Pokeball didn't work, but it returned as she spoke to Cookie.

"Go for it, Cookie~ Retaliate with Force Palm!" Cookie nodded and lurched forward with his paw flat forward, bracing himself when he was struck by the Spark. He was still able to rush at the Electrike despite being shocked.

[Jay]

The Force Palm sent the Electrike back a few feet, yet the electric pokemon wasn't giving up that easily. Forming another Spark, the Electrike attacked once more.

[Rarity]

"Let it hit you." Riku sounded completely sane when she said this, but with only a slight hesitation Cookie obeyed the command and took a great deal of damage from the Spark attack. He hoped his trainer knew what she was doing..

"Now use Reversal!" she called, and the puppy suddenly seemed to understand. With lower strength, Reversal would hit even harder than if he had full health. He rushed at the electric canine to use his second attack; he ran a little slower because he was weaker, but he still knew his attack would be good.

[Jay]

The Reversal sent the Electrike flying through the air, and after another second, it crashed into the sand not appearing to get up. Was it really down? Hm.....
