Recruitment, pt III (Mod/Open)

[Ryder]

JASMINE ROSE

Jasmine watched as a new pokemon seemed to pop up over there, and soon alerted the others that they were hidden. When Kali ordered the attack she looked over at Perseus who had landed on the ground. The second the ground started to shake the dragon's wings came out and with a few beats he took off into the sky. She watched as Perseus flew over to her, but he didn't land right away instead he stayed in the sky and waited for the earthquake to pass.

[Jay]

The Earthquake hit the Vulpix first due to her proximity to Pup, and she was sent flying in the process. Crying out as she landed on the glass and rocks, the Vulpix found herself in extreme pain. The second one hit by the attack was the Elekid, and he too was sent flying through the air. However, he appeared to take the damage better than the Vulpix and managed to land on his feet. The Magby and the Shinx were both thrown... forwards actually due to the center of the Earthquake and the crunching motion it was doing on the ground around it. Hitting the ground, the Magby quickly shoved himself upwards. The Shinx appeared to do the same. What caused the most noise of all was the sudden cracking of the glass building. All the wild pokemon looked at it for a moment in stark horror. Turning back, the Magby seemed to narrow his eyes in anger. Forming a Psychic from deep within him, the Magby made to throw the fire dog that had caused everyone else pain in the process. The Shinx followed with a Thunderbolt at the Arcanine.

[Admiral Striker General]

Kali's attention was quickly pulled from the battle as Jasmine's dragon came closer, finally catching her eye. As she turned to see him, she stopped cold, eyes wide. There was-.. But he-.. It couldn't-..! "Where did you get that...?" she finally managed weakly.

Meanwhile, the Arcanine was tossed rather roughly into some broken glass, his thick fur providing only most basic protection. Fortunately, the Magby was a weaker species and not made for that sort of attack, and Pup was quite heavy taking fair effort to lift, else it may have been much worse. As it was, the overgrown puppy did not at all like the feeling of being liftend in the air, even preferring the painful lightning blast that hit him after. <I'm really sorry,> he whimpered again, tearing up. <But my master told me to!> Speaking of, his master didn't seem to be giving another order now. Er.. um.. another Earthquake then? Thinking perhaps she'd intended it as 'until I say stop', he decided to go with that.

JASMINE ROSE

When Kali spoke she jumped a bit, her thoughts had been on the other pokemon so much she had forgotten that Kali was with her. Looking at the girl she gave a soft smile, "I found him out in the middle of the desert, he put up one hell of a fight." She heard a screech from Perseus as she came down lower, but still stay off the ground. She glance over at the fight once again, seeing the Magby and the Shinx attacking Pup. She didn't see the Elekid attack nor the Vulpix. She was tempted to send Perseus over to find the Elekid, though not powerful right now, he would grow strong. "Perseus, find the Elekid and use dragon breath on it." She watched as the dragon gave a nod, and took off into the air. Its gaze looking for the yellow pokemon, and when it spotted something moving that looked yellow it shot out a dragon breath.

[Jay]

The second Earthquake knocked whatever had been left in the Vulpix straight out of her. She wasn't a fighter by nature, and the two rounds of super effective high level attacks left her rather cold on the ground. The Magby was thrown back again by the Earthquake, yet the persistent little pokemon managed to force himself up. Breathing in a moment, the Magby managed a Confuse Ray towards the Arcanine. He couldn't take another super effective hit like that and knew it. The Shinx seemed to jump upwards as the Earthquake had hit and minimized a bit of the damage he received. He refused to make any sort of cry in pain and instead formed a Charge beam and shot it at the Arcanine. "SHINX!" he shouted in irritation. The Elekid swore rather harshly to himself upon being hit again by an Earthquake, and he, like the others, knew that he wasn't going to be able to take such super effective attacks repeatedly. However, he had other issues to deal with including the incoming Flygon who appeared to be dishing out a DragonBreath towards him. Forming an Ice Punch, the Elekid stepped back almost in a pitcher format before charging forwards with his hand out ready to beat back the attacker.

[Admiral Striker General]

Kali sighed with relief and said nothing else on the issue- coincidence was fine- before returning her attention to the battle just in time to see the Vulpix go down. Oh, score! "Good job, Pup," she commented lazily as she found an empty PokeBall, tossing it at the fox.

Meanwhile, the Confuse Ray did nothing to help the already-conflicted Pokemon, and the Charge Beam proved almost as painful as... comical, actually, making his eyes grow wide and fur stand on end all over. Stifling a laugh, Kali recalled the Arcanine quickly and, with a small smirk, sent out her own Shiny Flygon. "Earthquake, Kjaerlighet~" The chime was more in pride for the Pokemon than happiness at the battle; in fact, she felt a bit bad, tearing up the island like this, but.. Well, the attack was working. If she could take down several foes at once in a few shots, why not?

JASMINE ROSE

Perseus saw the Elekid and came straight at him, even though the wild pokemon was forming an attack. His forehead started to glow as he formed a headbutt attack which collided with the ice punch head on. Ice attacks may have a lot of effect on him, but he would fight without stepping back an inch. Soon his claws started to glow as the shiny Flygon aimed to strike the Elekid with a dragon claw attack.

Jasmine watched the battle as it raged on, the Vulpix was out so that left the three pokemon. "Do you want the Elekid?" Since she had walked in on Kali she would left her have the first pick of any wild pokemon they came across. However when the shiny Flygon came out she lifted an eyebrow, "nice." Looking back at Perseus who attacked even though he saw the ice punch coming she smiled to herself.

[Jay]

The pokeball smacked into the Vulpix and consumed her in a half second. The ball moved less than half a turn before dinging a capture.

Species: Vulpix
Gender: Female
Ability: Flash Fire
Personality: Playful and young, this Vulpix would rather spend the entire day at play than doing anything else. She tends to like to be around other pokemon and loves to try to make glass with her fire. This Vulpix is rather weak in battle, but with some training, she will grow rather quickly.


Seeing his friend captured, the Magby all but swore harshly. However, he had little chance to do anything for an Earthquake started by a Flygon seemed to rattle and throw him back. Crying out, the Magby cringed as he tried to force himself up from where he had fallen. However, his body was not complying and all the Magby could do nothing more than lay there. However, the Shinx seemed to suddenly glow, and he used a quick Magnet Rise to negate the Earthquake on himself. Charging forwards even as he floated, the Shinx formed a Crunch and moved to bite Kali's Flygon. The Elekid was hit straight on by the Dragon Claw, but what ended him was the Earthquake. He flew back violently and hit the ground completely unconscious.

[Admiral Striker General]

Kali tossed a Great Ball toward the nearly-unconscious Magby now, then glanced sideways at Jasmine, unable to hide a proud smile at the comment on Kjaer, however small it had been. "Nah, I was going to tell you to nab it if you want it. I have an Electivire," she reminded her. ...She HAD seen Stormy before at some point? Kali was almost sure, but she couldn't remember for certain now. Eh, either reminded or informed; either way, she knew now. "Dragon Claw, Kjaer," she ordered.

JASMINE ROSE

Jasmine smiled, giving Kali a small nod, before she threw a pokeball at the Elekid. For some reason she doubted she would ever use it much for battle. Though it could grow very powerful, she didn't really like its other two stages that much. She saw Perseus fly back into the air, avoiding getting in the way of the other shiny Flygon. She smirked to herself wondering what he thought of the other shiny Flygon, it was true that many people had the same pokemon, but how many had the same pokemon that were shiny? Looking at the Shinx who was still fighting, she didn't think that the pokemon would last much longer.

[Jay]

The pokeball hit the Magby and consumed the fire type quickly before hitting the ground. The ball rocked and shook violently for a few good seconds before finally sighing out a Ding in capture.

Species: Magby
Gender: Male
Ability: Flame Body
Personality: Protective of his friends and his trainer, this Magby tends to take a leader role whenever possible. He is very talented with his flame powers and can sculpt with ease. He rather dislikes Kali at the moment but will warm up to her eventually.


The second ball snagged hold of the Elekid in another second and drew him inwards as well.


Species: Elekid
Gender: Male
Ability: Static
Personality: A muscle head when it comes down to it, this Elekid doesn't tend to think much about the consequences of his actions which sometimes gets him into trouble. He's rather laid back but can get rather irritable when there is nothing to do. Keep him occupied the best you can when dealing with this Elekid.


The Shinx cried out as the Claw attack dug into him and let out a rather caustic hiss. He was at the end of his rope but wasn't going to show it at all. Using a Bite attack, the Shinx tried his best to finish the battle... before it finished him.

[Admiral Striker General]

"Faint Attack," Kali ordered lazily, then readied a Great Ball to toss as soon as the attack hit, which it should, barring only a Protect. With the proximity he'd be left at after biting, though, hopefully he wouldn't have time to react. She was... still a little hesitant about this one, now that she held a ball in her hand. It's just electric-fodder.. she told herself. He may not even see it.

[Jay]

Crying out and hitting the ground as the Faint Attack took its toll on him, the electric lion twitched a fraction. When the pokeball came at him, the Shinx was drawn inwards and the ball hit the ground. It twitched violently for a good few seconds before finally dinging a capture.

Species: Shinx
Gender: Male
Ability: Intimidate
Personality: Of leader quality and stature, this Shinx is extremely proud and dislikes insults to himself or his trainer. He tends to use electrical pulses to keep people from ignoring him and will bite them if the prior doesn't work. Despite being a cat-like pokemon, this Shinx is actually fine around rat-like pokemon and doesn't seem to bother them as long as they don't bother him.


It was dead silent after that. The pokemon in the area had fled, apparently. What was left to do but go further inland?

[Admiral Striker General]

Kali sighed then, looking over the shattered landscape. Rather than recall Kjaer, she released Pup once again. "Both of you, try to smooth this back down with some Flamethrowers." Once they'd begun to do so, Kali turned her attention to Jasmine. "So what are you doing way out here, anyway?"

[Ryder]

JASMINE ROSE

Jasmine watched as Kali let out Pup, and told her Flygon to start working on the glass. She watched as her Flygon flew down and started to use his own flamethrower attack to help the other two out. She smiled to herself, but turned her attention to Kali when she spoke. "I heard about this island of glass, and wanted to check it out. I didn't know when you left the lab, that you were going to the same place that I was." She shrugged, yeah it was odd that they went to the same place, but it wasn't like it was breaking a crime or anything.

[Jay]

Not far off, a Growlithe walked down the rocky shore almost dangerously close to the water given her species. However, she seemed unaffected by it and was blindly enjoying herself. Not far from the Growlithe, a Pikachu sat on a large rock appearing to almost look like a statue.

[Admiral Striker General]

... Beh. Well, whatever. Kali shrugged. "Eh, just don't expect me to-.." About that time, the new Pokemon caught her eye, however, and she gave up the first thought. "..Want to take that Growlithe while I go for the Pikachu?"

[Ryder]

JASMINE ROSE

When Kali cut off half way through her sentence she wondered what she was going to say, but she quickly dropped it. The sight of two new pokemon caught her eye, a Growlithe and Pikachu. She really had no interest in the Pikachu since she had gotten one from the shop a few days ago. "Yeah." She looked at her Flygon giving him a nod before he took off into the sky. "Dragon claw on the Growlithe." She saw the dragon give a nod as his claws started to glow, and he aimed them at the dog like pokemon.

[Jay]

The Growlithe didn't even notice the dragon coming at her, and when she was hit by the Dragon Claw, the dog pokemon went flying and splashed into the water. Flailing and panicking, the Growlithe managed to fight her way back to shore and looked angrily at the Flygon. That THING had gotten her wet! Shaking out her fur, the Growlithe charged with a Fire Fang. The Pikachu seemed to remain still as though far more interested at whatever was captivating him out at sea.

Kali thought to keep the Earthquake barrage going for this battle, but-...hm? Well, if she was only concentrating on her own... Recalling Pup, content they'd done enough to at least smooth the jagged sharpness of the broken glass a bit, she ordered her remaining Pokemon, "Show the Pikachu some Earth Power."
