R-really? .....REALLY?! A small squeak of a sound escaped Alaric's mouth before he clamped it shut tight, holding his breath a bit to stifle. Blushing furiously, he quickly turned to scan the beach for anyone in earshot, relieved to find no one for the moment- or at least if they were in hearing range, they were just out of sight, and that was close enough. Satisfied with this surveillance, his attention returned to the Kingdra, and he ceased fighting his excitement, letting out a high squeal of delight. Rushing onto the shore, then, he quickly found a PokeBall in his bag and returned to the Kingdra, offering it.

The Kingdra waited for half a moment before looking back at the sea for a few more seconds before back at Alaric. Moving forwards, he pushed the pokeball open with the end of his noes and became consumed with red light before disappearing into the pokeball. The pokeball itself only moved once before finally becoming quiet again. Name: Species: Kingdra Gender: Male Ability: Swift Swim Personality: Rather playful and good with children, this Kingdra also has a very respectful and honorable side when a need for it is presented. He has a natural instinct to want to save people from drowning and will often dive into the water to try and save them. He respects Alaric's other pokemon and tends to treat them with a good nature.

Still not believing his luck, Alaric placed the ball on his belt and squeaked in delight again as he pran- walked.. walked back to where Honey and Glydre had been waiting. "Are you guys excited?" he asked with obvious glee. "Looks like we just got a valuable new addition to the team~"
Glydre was not amused, remaining blank-faced. Honey, on the other hand, seemed fairly excited, by Honey standards at least. Of course, this consisted of raising her head to yawn, and tilting her head and flicking her tail 'enthusiastically' for a moment.
Alaric chuckled and scratched Honey behind and ear. Attention to Glydre, he coaxed, "Oh, come on... I know you don't trust new people much, but I'm sure you two can become good friends, just like you've become with Boxer~" Glydre leered. Honestly, he was just waiting until he was big enough to take that suck-ass horse. All previous attempts had ended in a variety of burns and hoof-shaped bruises, so for now, he remained biding his time. Glydre was very good at that...
"Thank you for waiting for me, by the way!" the trainer chimed now. "It's always a relief to know my friends are prepared to back me up just in case." With this, he wrapped the scorpion-bat in a tight hug, temporarily ending his plotting to replace it with a full-face blush and complete mental shutdown. To a carefully trained eye, a spark or two just might have come out of an ear.
Once he was satisfied with the hug, Alaric released his hold on the Pokemon to find his ball and recalled Glydre, leaving only Honey remaining once again. Now, it was time to decide just what to do next. Hm.. ...Well, first thing was first. Wet pants were uncomfortable. Again he checked to ensure there was no one on the immediate beach, then dug a dry pair from his bag and began to change. ... Heh. If anyone caught him stripping, he'd just claim he'd thought this was the nude beach~ |D
Chuckling, he finished changing and went back to contemplating a course of action. ...Well, he'd just caught a rather powerful Water-type, right? And actually, all that thought about leaving friends behind before... Looking at his second-newest Pokeball, Alaric sighed and decided to head to back to that patrol station. Really, he'd rather wait and watch the rest of the sunset first, but he did want to try to get there before they closed. Honey clearly was not keen on walking at the moment, so he recalled her as well and set off.

The waves were peaceful as they broke on the beach. The Staryu appeared to have disappeared from the sand during one portion of time or another, and most beach-goers were heading home. Suddenly, a very blue creature appeared to be running towards Alaric almost appearing to chase after something unseen. The Maril continued running straight towards Alaric as she stared off down the beach apparently seeing something worth running towards.

Alerting at the sound, Alaric chuckled when he saw its source and sidestepped to be sure not to get in the little mouse's way. Wouldn't want to stall something so apparently urgent after all, heh. Continuing once she'd gone, he eventually came back to the station. Now.. was it still open was more the question. For that matter, he wondered if the girl's oblivious parents ever had managed to pick her up.

The Maril continued down the beach again without any sign of stopping. In all truths, the station had closed down for the evening and appeared locked up. The sun had already nearly completed its trek downwards and was about to finish its course completely, it appeared. All was relatively quiet. However, if one listened carefully enough, the sound of laughter and talk could be heard. Even farther down the beach, someone appeared to be working a bonfire while a few other people were starting up music and enjoying themselves.

This intrigued Alaric only to the point of wondering if it may be any of the workers from the station, or if the little girl and her family may be among them. He moved closer to see if he could make out and recognize any faces, but tried to keep his distance or at least remain inconspicuous as best he could.

The faces were barely lit by the fire, but the faint outline could be seen of the station workers who now appeared wide awake and getting ready to have their own fun for the night. They were cleaned up, yet they were still the same. Someone released a Charmander in order to light more firewood causing more light to come in. Suddenly a bloody scream hit the air.

A woman came running down the beach and appeared on the verge of running everyone else over in her wake. All the while she continued to scream and run disrupting the beach party and causing many to stop and turn their heads confused. What could only be legitimately described as a swarm of Wingull appeared to be chasing after the woman and looked more like rabid Beedrill rather than bird pokemon.

Mouth agape, Alaric stared for a moment before finally gathering enough semi-coherent thought to manage "Fucking hell?"
Okay, calm down. That... swarm looked to be Wingull? Well then. He quickly released Honey, who started to laze but stopped mid-yawn at the site of the abomination headed toward them. Thumbing through a mental index of Honey's special attacks, he finally ordered, "Discharge."

The shower of electricity rammed into every single one of the birds and seemed to cause most of them to fall to the ground defeated by their own pains. However, a few remained in the air and seemed to suddenly charge straight at the Luxray for attacking them. Each Launching off a Wing Attack, three Wingull charged down towards the Luxray.

Alaric winced at the thought of Honey being ganged up on, but... really, she'd just taken down most of that swarm in one blow, and they were small, and half their attacks largely ineffective. She'd be okay, mostly. He still hated to see this, though.
Honey cringed at each blow, growling. While resistant to their airborn efforts, being outnumbered didn't exactly help things. It was similar to how being poked didn't really hurt... until the tenth time someone did it in the same spot. Damn addition. Without awaiting an order, she lunged out at the last to pass with a Thunder Fang.

The Wingull that was Thunder Fanged was knocked out in an instant, yet it left others now about five total were still airborne. Once again, they all used Wing Attack towards the Luxray as though it made no difference to them about the fall of their comrades. The woman had managed to more or less hide herself behind the Charmander that had been starting up the fire, and all the fire lizard could do was look back at the woman who appeared in fetal position and worry. Many of the people around the fire were simply gawking.

Tossing her head and throwing the unconscious bird aside, Honey's fangs began to spark once more as she waited for the birds to get close enough. Even as she thought about the attack, though, Alaric called, "Calm down. Just try another Discharge!"
..Damn special attacks grumble mutter blurgle.. Fine. Again she took the attacks, more annoyed than pained, though neither was in short supply. Once she'd had a moment to charge it and the birds looked in good position, she released the electric wave once more.

The second wave of electricity caused all five of the remaining birds to drop to the ground pretty much fried. Looking out from her hiding spot, the woman let out a sigh of relief. Several of the other men in the group appeared to walk over towards Alaric as though about to congratulate him on the defeat of the flock. Several women simply looked at one another and then at the one who was now coming out from behind the Charmander fully.

Deh--.. Alaric froze just a bit and began to back away, slowly and with stiff movements. Once his mouth opened, though only a shapeless syllable or two escaped before it shut tight again, his face growing hot.
Crowds he could deal with, if grudgingly. Eyes on him were also all right, though not his favorite thing, if he was participating in some public event. But.. this was a crowd with its attention specifically on him, and close enough to approach him, and unexpectedly. Needless to say, his idea to contact the workers had been long-since forgotten.

Most of the men were completely oblivious to Alaric's reation towards them and instead pretty much surrounded him and started talking. However, after a moment, they were suddenly dissolved back a fraction as the woman who had been chased walked up. "T-t-thank you for saving me," the woman said standing a full meter away from every man, yet most could tell she was on the verge of tears. She appeared to be in her early twenties and was rather thin framed overall. Her curly dark brown locks of hair seemed in a mess from the attack by the water birds, and her features were dark causing an angular look to form on her.

Too.. many... must...
Alaric was just getting to the verge of either lashing out or running when to his infinite relief, the crowd backed off a bit, replaced by a singular person with whom he did feel comfortable enough. This relief may have morphed into delight to find an attractive young woman approaching him, but any chance of this was crushed with a realization that made his heart sink: this was a girl, and she was nearly crying. Those were two things he never, ever wanted to coexist.
Forgetting the crowd (and everything else) for the moment, she became the singular object of his attention. Were it any less awkward a motion to perform, Honey would have face-pawed at seeing where this was headed; as it were, she rolled her eyes and lay down behind them, waiting as usual for her human to return to earth.
Stepping forward, he pulled the young woman into a strong and hopefully-comforting embrace. "Don't worry about it.." he assured her, voice soft in both volume and tone. "You're safe now..."
Honey gave a mental exasperated sigh, praying the woman would just reject him or one of the men in the crowd would speak up and claim her so they could move on already.

The woman turned a fraction red surprised by the embrace yet finally just nodded quietly. "I.. don't even know why they started attacking me but... t-thank you," she finally seemed to slowly stop her crying as she spoke. After a few seconds she made a light push for him to release her as she wiped a few stray tears away.
A few of the men seemed to nod at this and a few women simply chuckled to themselves. The Charmander had been pet and was back to feeding the flames of the fire once more. Lighter music began to play once more, and the scene seemed to magically to back to normal.
