The smirk that quirked on Xiaoli was cocky, and he shrugged his shoulders. 'Maybe. Are you up for a battle?' Considering the huge size difference, Xiaoli seemed minuscule compared to the Sawbuck. However, his attitude definitely reveal that he was at all concerned about this.

Aylin, Faris, and Nahele hurried up towards them, stopping a few paces behind the pair. After surveying the scene, Aylin offered the Sawsbuck a friendly smile. "What do you say? And if we win...would you be up for joining our team?"

[Jay]

The Sawsbuck seemed to look towards the girl for a moment and considered this. Well, he'd certainly like to prove he wasn't a pushover (especially to this tiny creature in front of him)... And the idea of going? Eh, it was a gamble, but why not? The Sawsbuck nodded his head a bit and then looked back towards Xiaoli allowing him the first move.

Smiling at the response, Aylin stepped forward. She ran some quick thoughts through her head--Sawsbucks were part grass type, so she wouldn't rely on those moves for damage, but it would be a good idea to try draining some power from the Sawsbuck first, regardless of how little.

"Okay, Xiaoli!" she called out, coming up with her first plan of attack, "Start it off with a leech seed! And aim for his legs!"

[Jay]

The Sawsbuck was hit by the seeds and shook his head a bit feeling the drain of energy. Suddenly grinning a bit, the Sawsbuck formed his own Leech Seed as though trying to even the field so to speak. Aiming for Xiaoli's stomach, the large buck pokemon retaliated.

"...! Xiaoli!"

The girl watched with a wince as the leech seed hit her Snivy head on, binding his body with vines and draining at his energy. It was fortunate he was also a grass type, but it wouldn't be good to leave him like that. "Leaf Blade, Xiaoli! Get your self out of there! Then use Gastro Acid!"

She watched with relief as Xiaoli sliced out of the vines, panting heavily, and the followed up with the next move, spraying out acid as a water Pokemon would with a mild water gun. Only this was a little more...well, poisonous (and gross).

[Jay]

The Sawsbuck tensed at the command for Leaf Blade but then realized that Xiaoli was aiming for the vines instead of him directly. However, this made him lower his guard for a half a second. Hit by the Gastro Acid, the Sawsbuck shook his head feeling mildly sick from the move. Although it targeted his ability and not him directly, it was still rather gross to say the least of it, that was for sure. Shaking his head a bit more, he managed to clear it and got back to the actual battle. Forming a Jump Kick, the Sawsbuck made to kick Xiaoli as hard as possible with his rather hard hooves.

Aylin tensed, her hands tightening into fists. Would this battle be too much for her Snivy? Take a deep breath, she told herself, Trust yourself and Xiaoli.

"Xiaoli, dodge it!" The Snivy had already been trying to dodge out of the way, knowing that having the larger Pokemon kick him directly in the chest would result in one heck of an injury. He wasn't able to dodge it completely--the impact to his left side sent him flying--but he was fortunate it hadn't been any worse.

He got to his feet when Aylin's next order came: "Use Slam! Aim for all four of his legs and bind him together!"

Xiaoli shot out some vines straight towards the Sawsbuck's legs with the intention of roping them together. If that worked, then he would be able to lift him and fling him into the ground. "The bigger they are, the harder they fall!"

[Jay]

The odd roping technique did work, but the Sawsbuck didn't fall but resolved to spread his legs farther outwards and take the attack still standing. <My muscles are in my legs... don't think I'll fall that easily, little one> he smirked a bit before using a Faint Attack to disappear from the vines. In another moment, he was charging straight forwards with the dark move.

'Yeah, we...figured as...much...' Xiaoli replied with irritatation, especially when the Sawsbuck broke free from the vines. He barely registered that the wild Pokemon was charging at him until Aylin ordered a Protect from behind him. At once, he threw up the barrier, but the impact had still thrown him back.

Wincing, he stood up again, and Aylin watched tight-lipped from the side. Her priorities right now were to keep Xiaoli in decent condition, and slowly drain away at the Sawsbuck's strength. But how--

"Try to bind him by his legs again, and use Giga Drain!" She knew that the vines wouldn't hold the Sawsbuck for long, but she was hoping that it would be a decent few seconds.

[Jay]

The vines came upwards, and the Sawbuck stomped at them rather irritated but eventually did find himself caught for a few seconds. The Giga Drain (although not very effective due to type match up) caused the Sawsbuck to cringe hard and shake his head rather sharply. Forming a Horn Leech, the Sawsbuck lowered his horns and made to hit Xiaoli.

It seemed like this battle would eventually turn into one of endurance. Of course, at the moment, the favour was definitely in the Sawsbuck's, but Xiaoli wasn't one to give up. He was hit with the Horn Leech and, after a few seconds of grimacing as he felt some of his newly gained energy draining out of him, he propelled himself backwards with his vines.

To the side, Aylin frowned. If this was going to turn into a battle of endurance, then..."Xiaoli, use Toxic!" she ordered, biting down on her bottom lip. If it hit and poisoned the wild Pokemon, just maybe...

C'mon Xiaoli, you can do this.

[Jay]

The Toxic hit the Sawsbuck and caused him to cringe from the poison. Shaking his head and cringing again the large pokemon formed a Megahorn and charged forwards once more.

"Good hit, Xiaoli!" Aylin called out, shooting a smile at her Pokemon. With luck, the Pokemon may have been poisoned--and if that were the case, it really would be a huge battle of endurance. Would Xiaoli faint from all the attacks, or would the Sawsbuck become weakened by the poison?

Seeing the wild Pokemon charging for Xiaoli made the gears in Aylin's mind move especially fast, and an idea came to mind. The last slam hadn't worked too well since the Sawsbuck had exceptionally strong legs...but his horns weren't the same, right? Unlike his legs, they possessed no power of their own.

"Don't panic, Xiaoli! Try to grab his horns as he comes and you, swing him up, and use Slam!"

[Jay]

The sudden grasp of his horns caused the Sawsbuck to freeze suddenly. In another moment, he found his form raising in the air, and a wave of half panic rolled over him as he was suddenly thrown straight to the ground again. Ouch...... Slowly forcing himself up, the Sawsbuck winced not only from the pain of the move but also the drain from the poison. Shaking his head, he charged forwards using a Jump Kick.

"Good job! Now--!" Aylin cut herself off as the Sawsbuck ran forward for another Jump Kick. The attack hit the Snivy in the stomach and he was sent back, falling into the ground. For a moment, Aylin thought that he wasn't going to get up--that she should stop this battle now before any more harm came to her Pokemon--when he sudden pushed himself up shakily. He took a few wobbly steps up to the wild Pokemon, intent on continuing.

"Xiaoli, that's enough, isn't it? You did well!"

The Snivy was not one to give up though. Not yet. He used a Double Team, multiple copies of himself surrounding the Sawsbuck in an attempt to disorient it. If the Sawsbuck turned away from him and faced one of his copies, he would use a Giga Drain. If not? Well, taking advantage of his small size and trying to duck out of the way seemed like a good idea.

(( And this is totally the wrong place to ask, but the cbox seems to be dead right now/won't load. For me, at least. OTL How does evolving work in the RP? Not necessarily in this RP--I think Xiaoli has only been in two battles, not three--but I wanted to clarify. ))

[Jay]

The Jump Kick missed and cringed in pain taking damage as well as feeling the poison. Then a Giga Drain hit, and the Sawsbuck found himself running out of steam quickly. He... wouldn't be able to keep this up....for much longer.... Panting a bit, the buck pokemon turned and formed a Megahorn attack.

[Basically after said pokemon has had at least three battles, during the third battle or beginning of the fourth or something, you can ask in chat or OOC like this if the mod will allow for an evolution. If they say yes, then you describe the evolution within the following post or whenever and the mod usually puts a 'mod approved evo' or something of that nature on it.

The little energy that the Snivy drained helped a little, but he still felt like he was still significantly scratched up. Instead of waiting for an order from Aylin, he narrowed his eyes at the approaching attack and did what he had done the last time--attempted a Slam attack by grappling at the horns with his vines.

However, considering that both of them were much weaker now...well.

It was at times like this that Aylin wished that she could do more than simply watch.

[Jay]

The Slam threw the Swabuck before he was even able to complete his attack, and once the large bulky creature hit the ground, he found himself fighting to get up. However, the poison appeared to be what forced him down in the end of it as the Sawsbuck fainted before he could even stand all the way up. His form collapsed again, and the large buck fainted.

For a moment, Xiaoli stood there trumphant, a grin on his face. However, a second passed and he collapsed beside the Sawsbuck, looking completely exhausted. He closed his eyes, his chest heaving as he took in great gulps of air.

Rushing over, Aylin crouched beside both of them, looking from one to the other, and then back. Digging through her bag, she pulled out two of the potions she still had, spritzing them over Xiaoli and the Sawsbuck's wounds.

Xiaoli opened his eyes to peer up at her after she had finished, grinning up at the girl with a glint in his golden eyes. "Well done, Xiaoli. You deserve some rest. H-hmm, as for him..." Her gaze fell onto the Sawsbuck, and she frowned uncertainly. Deal or no deal, she certainly didn't want to capture him while he was fainted and had absolutely no say in the matter.

I should probably get them to the center too, just to make sure they're both okay.

[Jay]

The Sawsbuck was fighting somewhere in the back of his mind for control and consciousness yet was achieving no success at the moment. Not far off, a Snorunt appeared to be building some sort of igloo of sorts.
