A Rest (Mod)

[Ferorodono]

Ashter dipped her feet into the pool, sighing with happiness. The water was cool despite the heat of the desert, and it was a relief from the hot sands. She turned to see her Gothita pounce on Jackie, squealing joyfully. Jackie turned and started chasing Rue, laughing and jumping. The warmth of the sand was fine for the Pokemon, and they fell to the ground, giggling.

Further down the oasis, Shasta sat licking her paw. One eye was opened, looking at the other Pokemon with amusement. She finished her bath, and then lay down on the warm sand. It was so comfortable... In a few minutes, Shasta was asleep.

Ashter got out her bag and smeared a dab of black lipstick on her mouth. "Darn thing keeps cracking in the heat," she muttered to herself, looking at her reflection in the cool water.

Meanwhile, Rue and Jackie were busy digging a hole in the sand like there was no tomorrow.

[Jay]

Far off across the water, a Liepard lay under a tree with her eyes closed. Every few seconds, her tail would swish a little as she relaxed. She wasn't too worried about being attacked more or less because the area was generally peaceful. Not far off, a Cacnea was wandering around looking confused for some reason.

[Ferorodono]

Shasta noticed the Liepard, but ignored it, instead leaning further back until she was lying in the warm sand. She swished her tail at the Liepard as a lazy greeting, and then closed her eyes.

Jackie and Rue saw the Cacnea, and gasped. "What a strange Pokemon," Rue whispered to the Mienfoo, and the crept toward it, the hole forgotten.

Jackie bounced ahead, and reached the cactus Pokemon before Rue. Smiling shyly, she said, "Hi, I'm Jackie. What are you looking for?" After all, he seemed preoccupied with something.

Ashter stuffed her lipstick into her bag and looked around at her Pokemon. A nearby Liepard soon caught her attention, but she remained sitting. The sand was so warm; how could she get up? "She's soooo cute," Ashter murmured, smiling at the cat. She was not worried of any wild Pokemon at the moment, and simply put her purse on the sand and sat against a nearby palm tree.

[Jay]

The Liepard swished her tail back in greeting and seemed to purr a little more or less being more openly acknowledging of the fact that there was in fact someone there. The Cacnea looked sadly towards the other pokemon and opened his mouth. <H-h-have you seen a ball?> he asked after a moment.

[Ferorodono]

Shasta looked at the Liepard, blinking in acknowledgement. She was not the kind of dog that detested cats; she actually rather admired the felines.

Rue stared at the Cacnea for a moment, clueless. "Um..." She had not been paying attention to the conversation, instead staring into the sand as if something interesting was going on there.

"Nope," Jackie said, smiling again. The Cacnea didn't seem threatening, at least. "Sorry. Can we help you find it?"

[Jay]

The large dark cat seemed to close both eyes and relaxed again fully still not worrying about anything around her. The Cacnea frowned a little when it was stated that they hadn't seen the ball. However, when they offered to help, he instantly lightened back up and nodded. Yes! That'd be helpful!

[Ferorodono]

Jackie suddenly started to run around the Cacnea, stopping at a point behind him. Oh, baaalllll! she sang, starting to dig in the sand like a dog. We need you!!!

Rue giggled as her friend started acting like a maniac, and shrugged at the Cacnea. She's crazy. She then started to look by a large hill of sand, humming to herself. We'll find it Rue assured the other Pokemon. If we all work together, we can find your...um...ball.

Ashter groaned and slowly got to her feet. "Whatever. I can't even sleep with you two around," she muttered at Rue and Jackie. Ashter then started walking around the oasis. She wanted to see what kinds of Pokemon lived here, and thought it was worth looking while she was here. Maybe I'll even find an awesome Pokemon or something. She went a few paces around the oasis and peered into the distance. The Liepard and a Cacnea seem pretty cool. Maybe if I can't see anything good...

[Jay]

The Cacnea continued to look around for the ball and was more or less walking himself in a giant circle of sort as he looked. The Liepard seemed to hum a little still relaxed. Farther off, a group of Budew could be seen talking to one another in a rather large horde of sorts. They all suddenly laughed a moment before continuing to talk. Watching the group was a lone Bulbasaur who didn't seem very interested in anything he saw at the moment.

[Ferorodono]

Ashter suddenly started jumping up and down excitedly. "Oh my gosh! Rue, come here! It's so cute! We have to get it!" She whirled around and called for her Gothita again. "Come on! Before it runs away!"

Rue jerked her head up at her master's calls, and looked apologetically at the Cacnea. "I'll be right back. My trainer is calling me." She turned and scuttled down to Diana's side, making a salute as she neared the trainer.

"Rue, quick, use Psyshock on that Bulbasoar. The green bulb Pokemon. Run down over there, see?" Diana pointed down the sand hill, and Rue immediately ran down it. She ducked behind a sand pile before charging down. She stopped a hundred yards away from the Bulbasoar and lifted her hands into a praying position. Ohmmm, Rue mumbled. Sound effects, check. A bright pink aura was visible around her, and the Gothita squeezed her eyes shut in concentration. Then, a psychic sheet shot out and flew towards the Bulbasoar, glowing with intensity.

Jackie had run over to the top of a sand mound to watch the battle, and let out a cheer for her friend. Shasta was trying to look nonchalant, but she peered over a clump of sand to see the Gothita release the attack.

[Jay]

The Psyshock hit the Bulbasaur before he even knew it. OW WTF??? Looking around suddenly angry at the person who had attacked, the Bulbasaur seemed to stare towards Rue's direction before suddenly running straight at the psychic's hiding place. Forming a Vine Whip, the grass type attacked.

[Ferorodono]

Gothita shrieked and turned to run away from the attack; however, she was caught by the vines and thrown into the sand. Oh, Ninetales. She rose and faced the Bulbasoar again, this time prepared.

"Alrighty, Rue, you can do this! Psychic!" Ashter pulled at her hair. "Come on, we gotta catch that Bulbasoar!"

Rue let out a pink telekinetic force that glowed and shot out towards the starter Pokemon. Take that!

Shasta huffed in amusement as the Gothita ran away from the attack (<Fail>) and when she sent out the attack.

[Jay]

The Bulbasaur was lifted and throw a good ways. However, instead of showing any sort of pain, an irritated look simply came to the small grass type's face, and with that, he formed a Razor Leaf in retaliation. It seemed that he wasn't about to give up this battle just yet.

[Ferorodono]

Ashter watched the battle carefully. "Try dodging, Rue!" she shouted as the Razor Leaf shot towards the Pokemon. "Then try another Psychic!"

Gothita ducked behind a sand mound but was still hit by most of the Razor Leaf attack. She huffed as she rose and quickly sent out another stream of psychic power. The Psychic attack swarmed towards the Bulbasoar. Rue smiled as her attack was sent for the Bulbasoar, and she hoped it did the trick.

[Jay]

Once more the psychic energy lifted up the Bulbasaur and threw him. However, it seemed that teh small grass type was just not going to give up. Forcing himself upwards, he formed a Bullet Seed and shot it at the Gothita retaliating once more.

[Ferorodono]

Gothita was hit with the Bullet Seed and stumbled back. "Try Psychic again!" Ashter called at her Pokemon, and Rue formed yet another blast of pink psychic energy. She narrowed her eyes and aimed as best she could. She collected herself and focused at the Bulbasoar before sending the attack his way. Hiai! she yelled, and from behind Diana, Shasta laughed and cheered along with Jackie. "Come on," Ashter wailed as the attack flew towards the starter Pokemon. She really wanted that Pokemon, as grass types were one of her favorite types (second, in fact, in front of dark types but just behind fire types).

[Jay]

The Psychic energy hit the Bulbasaur again, and the small grass type went flying very far this time only to hit a tree and cry out in pain. Sinking forwards, the grass type was still conscious but as he tried to shove himself up, he fell forwards and cringed in more pain. It seemed he was unable to continue with the battle.

[Ferorodono]

Ashter ran next to her Gothita, then grabbed a Pokeball out of her pocket and threw it as hard as she could towards the Bulbasaur. She clutched her fists and bit her lip, hoping that that starter Pokemon would finally be hers. "Good job," she said to Rue, as they both watched the Pokeball open and attempt a capture. The heat was finally getting to the Gothita, who let out a long huff.

[Jay]

The pokeball hit the Bulbasaur and drew him inwards. In another moment, the soft click and ring of capture followed.

Personality: Generally a laid back pokemon, this Bulbasaur doesn't worry to much about life. He takes things, whether good or bad, as they come and will work towards them in any way, shape, fashion, or form. He can plan rather well but prefers things in the moment, so to speak. He likes to listen to the sound of other pokemon moving and has rather acute hearing.


[Ferorodono]

Ashter squealed and ran over to retrieve the Pokeball, smiling hugely. "Yes! Good job, Rue, awesome, totally amazing, couldn't have done it better, omigosh, it's a Bulbasaur!"

Rue jumped up and down with excitement at her achievement. YEAH! She ran to catch up with her trainer and hugged Ashter around the leg. Heehee~

Jackie leaped up and, upon returning to the ground, pounded her small fist into the sand, creating a huge hole. Whoot! Nice, Rue!

Shasta smiled at the Gothita and let out a cheer.

Ashter hugged the Gothita before letting out a huff. "It's so hot here, let's walk back to the oasis and see if we can see anything past the sand. She started walking up back to the pool of water, followed by Rue, raising her hand to her forehead to shield herself from the sand that kept breezing across her eyes. She peered into the distance, wondering which way they had come from. Their trek had been long and confusing, and Ashter had no idea which direction leaded where.

[Jay]

Far off, a Sunflora could be seen drinking a bit of the water directly out of the oasis. A Cherubi seemed to be watching rather carefully and looking around to make sure that nothing was about to attack his friend while she drank. Those were the only other two pokemon in the direct vicinity. The air was beginning to pick up just a bit, and some of the sand shifted and moved.
