An Alley? When did I get here? (Kero/Jay)

[Caden Bunny]

Caden had been walking for a while and seemed to have lost track of where he was. He had stopped multiple times to cook on his way here, but now he had plenty of leftovers. ^^ He wondered who might want some. As he went, he realized that he was on the wrong side of town. It was almost pitch black when he noticed that he was in slums.. and he didn't know his way around here.

Low on breath, Caden decided to tuck into an alley for just a moment to catch his breath before he tried to get out of here. He was having trouble seeing far in front of him, so he had to stare at the ground as he went slowly. Once in his alley, he sat down and breathed in. He was pretty worn out and sleep was begging him to give in. He decided he couldn't though, so he simply grabbed a pokeball and brought Ashton (baby Teddiursa) out and was rocking him happily. He pulled out a bottle and started letting him drink from it. ^^ He hadn't fed him for a while. He would be walking again after he finished feeding his pokemon a bit. How funny it must look to see a boy feeding a Teddiursa with a bottle in the dark in an alley of a place that he could probably die from. Heh ^^ Oh well, he would worry about something later on. People always said alleys were dangerous, but nothing had hurt him yet, so he wasn't worrying.

Little did Caden know, he had not been alone on those streets tonight. High up on the roof tops there was another young man hidden by the shadows of the night. he had been following Caden for some time now as the boy looked like a perfect target. He had pokeballs which meant he had pokemon. Pokemon, no matter the size, shape or type sold for a lot of money and Adam liked money.

Walking behind Adam was a black and blue Umbreon named Kuu. The pokemon knew exactly what Adam was going to do this boy and didn't quite approve but wasn't going to stop him. In fact, Kuu was going to help him. It was what kept Adam happy and fed. Though they wouldn't make a move until the perfect timing had presented it's self. Which it had. The boy had foolishly made his way into an alley. But not any alley. He had found one that only had one entrance. Now it was time for Kuu to work his magic.

With a light thud, Kuu jumped down from the lower end of the roof before turning around the corner of the alley way. As he walked it looked like he had a limp in his front, right paw. He made his way towards Caden but hadn't looked up until he was a few feet away. It was when he looked up that he frooze stiff and stared at Caden almost as if he was afraid of the human and hadn't been expecting to see him.

Watching from the shadows and well hidden out of view Adam waited. He was waiting for the exact moment that Caden would stand up...

Caden looked over and watched Kuu walking over. A wild pokemon, hmm? It looked afraid, and not like it was going to attack, but he had to be safe. He slowly scooted himself a bit further away and smiled easily towards the pokemon. "You can keep doing what you wanted, or I could take a look at that foot of your's." Caden with a grin. He had all but forgotten where he was. ^^ He really needed to stay in safe places at night.

Kuu sat down when it appeared the human wouldn't hurt him. he then stuck out his paw as if to ask Caden to come and check it for him. Truth was his foot didn't hurt at all. It was simply a distraction but the boy wouldn't know that. Kuu, after all, was Adam's best actor. He had tricked many unaware people into believing he was hurt and needed help. In fact there hadn't been many he hadn't been able to tick yet.

Adam still waited in the shadows, his breath slow and steady as he watched Kuu and Caden. In his hand he twisted a sharp piece of glass he had found earlier around is fingers. He was starting to feel a bit inpatient but it was all ok. if the boy didn't stand up soon then he would simple approach this slightly different then origonally planned.

"Umm, Umbreon." The pokemon said softly sounding rather sad as it held out its paw, waiting for Caden to stand up and walk over to him.

Caden smiled happily. He had to position the bottle and pokemon to lie on him so he could work with his other hand. He wasn't a doctor, nor did he really know too much, yet he could tell if it was hurt. He pulled out a pokeball and released Senny the Shiny Sentret. Caden didn't tell him to do anything just yet, and instead was simply moving the paw around a bit. It seemed okay, and then Senny took over. He was always the doctor, so Caden just let him work. He started moving the pokemon's paw and didn't notice anything strange about it. That's when, for just a split second, Senny thought he heard and smelt something other than this pkoemon. It had a trainer... it could tell that for sure. Maybe it wasn't extremely safe to be here? Oh well, Caden would be safe if he had pokemon out, right?

Ashton was about done with the bottle and was just playing with it, so Caden pulled it away and simply rocked him. Ashton found himself digging in Caden's bag and was playing with a pokeball. He honestly didn't know who's it could be. For all he knew, it could be his. He didn't press the button yet though.

Kuu simply sat there and let the human check his paw. Once the human was done checking it he sat there and let the other pokemon the human released check his paw. It really was kind of amusing Fact of it all was, once they completely realized that Kuu wasn't hurt at all, it was too late. Kuu suddenly turned around and began to kick dirt up into the air. It wasn't aiming for anyone in particular. It just simply wanted to blind them for a short moment.

Adam had quickly and quietly made his way down the wall behind Caden. It wasn't until he reached the bottom with a light 'thud' that Kuu had began to kick up the sand. With a few swift moments Adam ignored the pokemon and went straight for Caden. He had reached out to grab the boy from behind and place the piece of glass up against his throat. Kuu stopped kicking uo the sand and turned again to see if his master had reached his target successfully or not.

Caden was examining the paw rather closely still when the sand was thrown up in his eyes. He flung back in fear as Senny also couldn't see. Ashton broke into a crying fit. Senny managed to make out what looked like Caden getting jerked up and held with glass up against his neck. Senny would have attacked, but he couldn't aim right now and was afraid that he might just get Caden killed, so he stood there. Ashton was on the ground, crying wildly as it laid on the pokeball it was playing with. It somehow hadn't hit the button, so nothing happened, or it was empty. Caden finally realized what was going on when he was already held up with glass to his neck. He gulped as he couldn't even see who or what had him. "..... Gah!..." Caden says, frightened by the glass, which caused him to fling himself back just a tiny bit, yet he was still in his grip. Caden was only 14... and he was weak for his age anyways. There probably wouldn't be much contest if he tried to get away. He was breaking down in tears for multiple reasons. He was being held against his will, could die, dust had gotten all in his eyes, and Ashton was crying crazily. He was wishing that he could at least calm the bear down before he was beaten to a pulp or whatever it was this man wanted.

Adam grinned as grabbed hold of Caden and held him close. Very slowly he leaned his face close to Caden's ear, "Tell you're pokemon to return to there pokeballs and I might let you walk away unharmed." He spoke softly in Caden's ear, tightening the grip the glass free arm had around Caden's stomach. The issue with Adam compared to many other local thief’s was that he really would spill his victims blood. He didn't care if the victim was young, old or crippled. In fact, he found it rather fun to pick on the weak and helpless. Besides, this boy had walked into a place where only the cunning made it out on top.

Kuu waited to see if the other pokemon would do as Adam commanded. He had a good feeling the baby pokemon wouldn’t but that was fine. Kuu doubted Adam was all that interested in the baby anyways. If the pokemon did obey Kuu would be taking the bag and running off with it. Once out of site Adam would let the boy go. Maybe. At least, that’s the way these things often went. Sometimes the victim didn’t always make it out alive but today Adam seemed to be in a rather good mood. For Cadan, that was a good thing.

[Caden Bunny]

Caden was rather scared and slowly spoke up. "Senny... do as he said. Don't worry, it'll all be alright~ ^^" Caden says with some kind of lightheartedness like he really believed it. Too bad that was pretty far from it. He was freaking out and was so afraid of losing his pokemon. All of that work to form a perfect art team.. and he was going to lose them all T_T To think that he even had a shiny and an albino on him. Senny nodded and slowly crawled into the bag which flashed red. In the fight, he had dropped it on the ground, so now Senny was in the pokeball inside it. Ashton didn't recognize what was going on, so it was just crying and flailing it's arms around as it lie there. Caden was breaking into tears even more now. "There... Ashton is a baby. He doesn't know how to fight, so you don't have to worry." Caden says slowly. He was so scared as the grip was tightened. T_T He knew better than to come here again. Maybe he'd luck out and get back at him somehow or be saved.. but he didn't even know what this guy looked like.

Adam grinned when the pokemon returned to their pokeballs. He wasn't concerned about the baby pokemon. It was weak and useless which meant it wouldn’t tell for a high price anyway. The other pokemon on the other hand would sell for a fair bit. "Kuu, go." Adam commanded the Umbreon. Kuu nodded and made its way over to the bag. Quickly it made sure all the pokeballs were inside before picking up the bag and wrapping one of the arms around his body. He then turned from the boy and Adam and began making his way down the alleyway and around the corner.

Adam would give Kuu about five minutes to get to their safe spot before letting the boy go. "Just stay still and this will all be over soon." Adam spoke softly to the boy again. He wasn't actually trying to comfort the boy. He was simply buying time.

Ieri hadn't been in the Capital for nearly two years... things had changed considerably, and the knight was finding himself far more on edge than he had even expected to be. The sight of the city, which should have been revealing seeing as it was home was far from what it had been as far as Ieri was concerned. He wasn't even sure if he wanted to see what Era Castle looked like at that point.....However, he had heard that there had been sightings in the area of....and if there was even a half bit of hope... then he'd return as well......and-.... However, the former knight did not have time to complete his thought until he noticed an Umbreon coming around a corner with a bag. Stopping directly in front of the Umbreon, Ieri stared down down at the creature and raised his eyebrow. It was rare to see such a pokemon not to mention what it was carrying. "Who do you belong to?" was the question.

Caden was being walked out of the alley, but he kept looking back at Ashton who was slowly picking itself up. It was no on it's feet and began walking clumsily toward them. Wait.. what was under him that whole time? It was the pokeball he was playing with! What was in it? Caden wasn't entirely sure, but he had to get to it. "S-sir... could I got get... my Teddiursa? He's... he's not used to being away from me.." Caden asks slowly. Maybe.. just maybe, that pokeball could save him. Caden seemed rather lucky as Ashton was still standing in front of it so it was out of their view now. It still appeared to be crying.

Kuu stopped the very moment a boot blocked his path and voice rang out to him. He hadn’t been expecting someone to be right around the corner. It was all ok though.. If he could just dash around this man then everything would be ok. As long as the bag and Adam weren’t in the same spot then they couldn’t force Adam to give them back, right? Alright then, he would dash for it.

Kuu took a few steps back from the man, growling as he did so. Then as fast as his skinny little legs could take him, he attempted to dash around the man’s legs.

“Call me sir again and your Teddiursa wont have a trainer anymore.” Adam hissed at the boy as he looked down the alley way towards the exit. This boy was rather pathetic in Adam’s mind. Did he really think that Adam would care about some crying pokemon or if it was scared being left on the ground? Adam’s grip on the boy was starting to loosen a bit as he stood there waiting. Maybe he could let the boy go a bit earlier… He was rather helpless so Adam wasn’t really too concerned that he would be able to stop him now that Kuu was most likely a block away. At least, Adam believed the Umbreon would be a block away by now. He didn’t know about the man blocking his pokemon’s path. Fact of the matter was, the baby pokemon was annoying and so was this boy. He was inching to just drop this boy and leave. But… a few more moments. He’d give Kuu a few more moments. Until then he could have a bit of fun with this boy.

“So what was a delicate little thing like you doing so far away from home?” Adam soft voice whispered in Caden’s ear, purposely blowing his warm breath against Caden’s skin, “Haven’t your parents always told you to stay on the path? There are many big bad wolfs willing to gobble you up” Very softly Adam began nibbling on Caden’s ear. He was doing nothing more then playing with the boy as he wasted time. It was just too much fun to mess with ones mind. To leave them partly or completely broken for the rest of their miserable lives. This boy was too innocent and Adam was willing to leave a tiny dent in it before letting him go.

As swiftly as the Umbreon had moved, Ieri had moved to block his path again. Something about the Umbreon had caught his attention, and for now at least, Ieri'd keep on it. If it was tame, then where was its trainer? If it was wild, then why did it have the bag. Both questions seemed to hit Ieri well enough to the point that he'd continue to block the Umbreon for now. Resolving to get more out of the situation, the muscular man released a Hitmonlee who seemed to stand at attention for a few moments before staring rather sharply at the Umbreon. Though he lacked a mouth, Lee certainly did have sharp eyes, and his ability to read Ieri's intentions was only heightened by the fact that he had gone through the military with his trainer. In another moment, he had stepped to the side of Ieri making to block the Umbreon that much more. "I'll ask again, who do you belong to," Ieri stated aloud.

Caden listened and slowly nodded. "Yes s- uh... stranger?" Caden says to answer his first remark. Then he listened and felt his breath, which made him somewhat sick. "I was heading into town, yet I have friends coming to get me-" Caden says. He just.. lied? HE NEVER LIES!?! He usually has a tell, but the one time it really mattered, it actually worked! He then felt the nibble and he was about ready to just run away. He decided that he might get killed if he did that, so he did nothing. Ashton seemed to stare at this for a few moments before turning away and going back to where it started. He was told that when people did that, you just looked away, so he was now playing with the pokeball lightly. He was still crying a bit, but it was slowly stopping. It looked back over, clearly showing off the pokemon, as it noticed the look on Caden's face that showed he didn't want this happening. Ashton suddenly looked angry, and in an act of hope, it pressed the button. Like magic, a huge White Luxray with killer red eyes stared at them. It suddenly got down in an attack mode as Caden quickly jerked away in hopes of getting out of the grip. If he succeeded, a Thunder would go flying at Adam, yet if he failed, Caden wouldn't have gotten out, so now thunder attacks would be fired, and the Luxray would simply release a roar in rage before rushing forward in an attempt to ram Adam from his trainer. Ashton was sitting on the ground, staring now.

‘Dang it’ Kuu hissed to himself when the man once again blocked his path. It was starting to annoy him but there wasn’t a lot he could do about it. Perhaps he could just attack the human and force him to move out of the way. Sadly that idea had been wiped out of Kuu’s mind as the man released a Hitmonlee from a poke ball. This was blocking any hope for Kuu to get out by force. Out of all three of Adam’s pokemon, Kuu was not the fighter. He knew he’d have no hope of getting past these two by force. Perhaps he could just tell them a lie. Something like he was in a rush to get this bag to his trainer or something. Whatever he did he had to come up with it fast. Adam’s five minutes would be up soon and it would ruin the plan if Kuu was still there.

Kuu took a couple steps back from the human and his pokemon. His ears had lowered and were laying down flat across his head. He almost looked like a child being scolded for doing something his mother had told him not to.

Adam hadn’t been paying any attention to the baby pokemon as he picked on Caden. He had let out a small chuckle to Caden`s reaction to the nibbling before turning to look down the alley again. When he turned his head to look back at the boy in his arms he noticed the Teddiursa had a poke ball. Before he could even react to this however, the button was pushed and a Luxray had been released.

From that point on everything moved so fast Adam really had no control on what happened. He ad about enough time to look the pokemon in the eyes before he felt Caden suddenly jerk out of his arms. The next thing he knew a bold of electricity was racing through his body causing him to drop the piece of glass onto the ground as he cried out in pain. Once the shock had ended Adam stumbled back a bit and hit the wall behind him. It took him a moment to regroup before his ice cold blue eyes looked up at the boy and his pokemon. So it seemed the boy had been able to handle himself a little.

“Umb…” Kuu was just about to give Ieri a lie when the electricity and sound of Adam’s voice was heard in the alley behind them. What ever had happened wasn’t good and it meant Kuu had wasted too much time with the man blocking and pokemon blocking his path. Now what was he suppose to do? Go back? Try to dash for it again? He would simply choose to give up but then… He had to protect Adam. He just couldn’t let his master get taken away. Kuu quickly dropped the bag and turned to run back into the alley. If they had been caught, Kuu would rather worry about Adam then keeping the pokemon they had stolen.

“How did…” Adam was about to ask how Caden had managed to hide one of his pokemon from him but changed his mind. It wasn’t worth asking and it was too late now, “I guess my time is up.” He was about to grab a pokeball of his own from his belt to help distract Caden and the angry Luxray when Kuu came around the corner. Adam’s eyes instantly light up with shock to see the Umbreon so soon. Something else must have gone wrong.

Upon seeing the Umbreon's reaction, Ieri found himself stepping forwards. That look...It reflected something almost human in nature, and Ieri was finding himself paralleling such on it. "What..." he started but was cut off when the sound of pain and electricity moving through the air hit his ears. Ieri's eyes rose and then moved down again, yet it seemed the Umbreon had dropped the bag and was suddenly heading off somewhere. Lee seemed to suddenly follow straight after the Umbreon leaving Ieri to bend down and pick up the bag.

After his hand had secured around it, the muscular man followed after his Hitmonlee. Said fighting pokemon had followed the Umbreon back to the alley way and was now staring down it rather sharply looking at the chaos of it all. Lee wasn't sure of anything, and because of it, he simply stood ready for anything. Ieri came around the corner rather quickly afterwords and found himself blinking just as confused as Lee. What..... was even going on?

Caden managed to get free and smirked when he had succeeded with this. He quickly kicked the glass, yet he was afraid that he might still be in trouble. He quickly ran to the safety of his pokemon and picked up the Teddiursa. He would have returned Ashton, but the bear had no pokeball, since his bag was gone. He wasn't in any mood to talk to Adam now that this had happened. When he saw the Umbreon, he got ready. It's blue stripes made it easier to see in the darkness. Bolt hunkered down and stared at the Umbreon, growling lightly. "Give me back my pokemon and I won't fry you." Caden says. He lucked out to have his scariest and strongest pokemon. Too bad this guy probably had a full party on him. At least he had a chance of scaring them off or just distracting them so he could run. Then again.. he needed his pokemon back. He stood ready while Ashton seemed to be struggling a bit. Did it.. want to fight too? Well, if Ashton had to, Caden would let him, but he wouldn't until he knew for fact that it was needed. That was when he noticed the man behind him. He.. looked strong. Hopefully he wasn't helping this guy. "H-help me out please! I'm Caden.. and this guy took my pokemon from me. My baby Teddiursa managed to get this pokemon out of the bag before his Umbreon ran off with it, so he hadn't killed me yet. He was going to do it with that glass over there, because he had gotten me from behind!" Caden says quickly. If this guy was bad.. well.. he was probably done for. Maybe, if this guy was bad, somebody else would save him? Yeah right ^^ There weren't that many good people in the world that would help a random kid.

Kuu was rather shocked to see the Luxray standing in the alleyway with the boy and Teddiursa. Had he missed putting a pokeball into the bag or did the human have it hidden on him? Well it couldn’t be helped either way now. One thing was sure, there was no way Kuu would be able to take on the Luxray. He knew already that the battle was lost before it even started. The Umbreon really wasn’t a fighter. He was an actor.

At first Adam looked rather amused by Caden’s words. Fry him? This boy was threatening the wrong person. Adam could care less about what happened to himself. It was punishment for all the pain he caused the people he had met. Punishment for even living in this miserable world. After all, his birth had been brought about to remind people how horrible and unfair life could be. At least, that was what Adam had always been told since day one.

“Give it your b…” Adam stopped mid sentence as he spotted another man appear around the corner. It must have been because of that man that Kuu was still around. Not to mention he was holding the bag that held Caden’s pokemon. ‘Shit’ Adam’s mind hissed inside as he cold eyes sifted from the man back to Caden. The boy’s pleads for help were starting to annoy Adam more and more. He had just threatened to fry Adam and now he was asking for help? The more the boy, or Caden, spoke the more anger began to build up in Adam.

“I threatened to kill you!” Adam snapped suddenly, “If I was going to kill you I’d have already done it.” He was actually starting to regret not killing him from the start. This was the problem with showing mercy. It left room for them to retaliate and complications such as this. Now not only did he have to deal with this Caden, he had would have to deal with the new comer and his Hitmonlee as well. He had two pokemon capable of actually battling but had a feeling it wouldn’t be enough against two opponents. He needed to get himself and Kuu out of there somehow. Something told him he really didn’t want to deal with the man who had shown up. The boy seemed like an easy pick, but the man… Well he wouldn’t have been a target Adam would have gone after.

As Ieri's eyes finally settled on the younger of the two, he found that the kid was asking for help. The Umbreon... Ah, that was why the bag didn't belong. Despite the intensity of the situation, Ieri's mind was rather calm. Instead of handing the bag over instantly to the boy now that he had registered that it was his, the muscular knight found himself staring at Adam who had spoken then and there.

At the words of killing, something in Ieri fidgeted greatly. In his own mind, he was a protector and not one to attack unless attacked himself, yet even the threat of killing..... was irritating. It irritated him greatly and on a deeper level than Ieri would have registered in his own right. The rebels had tried to kill Alice and had succeeded in killing the royal family. "Shut your moth," was the sudden rather harsh words that came from Ieri and were directed at Adam. "It doesn't matter if it was a threat or not."

Lee seemed to tense at Ieri's words and found himself ready to fight this out. He leaned back on his left leg and raised his right in a fighting stance that the species of Hitmonlee was known for by nature. It seemed that Ieri had made his own decision, and Lee, given who he was, would work with this decision no matter the consequences.

Ieri found himself all but throwing the bag now at Caden and then stepping towards Adam rather sharply wearing a very intense serious face. If this man released any pokemon, Ieri'd fight them with his own form if need be. Lee'd be busy with that Umbreon as far as Ieri assumed. No one was getting out of this one."Explain yourself," was the order from Ieri then and there.
