Faith looked at the jar, then Delilah, a bit warily, not moving. She glanced down at Muffy, whose hopeful stare caused the woman's gaze to soften a bit. Faith did have a bit of a sweet tooth, and her Audino knew it well enough. That, mixed with the few drinks she'd had, was the reason she decided to take the offer.
Faith's hand snapped out like a viper, snatching up a small handful of sweets with a haste usually reserved for one trying to take the bait from a trap without losing their hand. Acting as if the blink-and-you'll-miss-it motion had never happened, she placed the candies in front of her and looked at them, seeing what she had. Faith picked up a red hard candy and unwrapped it before tossing it in her mouth. "Thanks," she said in a neutral tone.
Muffy squealed and clapped her hands. To her, the fact that Faith had taken the candy and wasn't growling anymore was a sign that her idea had worked. She went to hug Delilah again in gratitude.

Lyall smirked a moment and nodded his head before then moving back to his shelves to stat working out a drink. He worked fluidly, and his eye seemed to slide backwards for a moment as he listened to the two women. He was rather glad to see things were settling out. After a few seconds, he came back and set the extremely pink drink down in front of Delilah. In all instances, in color and taste, the thing was somehow pink in nature. "There," he smirked a bit before looking back over to see if Faith needed a refill.

[ Delilah ] And how could she resist that face?<3 Delilah went right back to coddling the pudgy purple Pokemon until Lyall brought her drink. "Ah, thank you love," she commented, then proceeded to pet the Audino a bit more before finally giving her a solid hug (which might have been accompanied by a very tiny squeak, and not from Muffy's side), before letting her go and taking up the glass. After a long, slow, savoring drink that downed about two thirds of the content, she set it back down and looked over Faith again. She was in no hurry to get too buzzed (yet) tonight, and they had business to attend to. She'd sip at the rest of this and maybe a second or third depending on how long it took. Then, depending on their plans and her mood, she'd probably drink more. She turned to Lyall then, same sultry coo as usual. "Everything look clear to you~?" He was, after all, a pretty strong (in more ways that one; hot damn she was never going to get over that build until she had him) rebel, and almost certainly the reason this had been chosen for their meeting place. There were only a few other people in the bar at the moment, but Lyall should know if they'd been in much if they were allies or neutral or already so drunk they'd be harmless anyway, or if there was anyone to definitely watch out for, or at least if there was some new face they couldn't judge yet. Hopefully they were all at least semi-regulars, though. It was amazing what people would admit to when drunk, and as a result amazing what bartenders could often tell you. The fact that Muffy was in heaven barely needed to be said. She soaked up the attention like a sponge, letting out a stream of squeaky giggles and wiggling her tail. Faith bit down on the hard candy in her mouth, breaking it into pieces she could chew, and looked at the drink she was no longer sipping. She appeared to be ignoring Delilah, and everything for that matter, entirely. But appearances could be deceiving.
"No one's looked our way since you sat down that I could see," Faith said in a flat, uninterested tone, the kind that rarely grabbed attention, as she picked up a softer candy and unwrapped it. She knew the question hadn't been directed at her, but two points of view were generally better than one if one of the points of view wasn't a complete moron."I know the guy with the long hair at the pool table. Jackass owes me money, but he's harmless."
Faith may have been a live grenade, but she was a live grenade with eyes and ears. Anger could make her tunnel-vision, and she'd be lying if she said she'd noticed the aforementioned jackass before her first drink, but Faith was nearly as paranoid as she was short-tempered, and her peripheral vision was very good.

Lyall's eyes seemed to make a half sweep around the room as though he were making sure of himself before he answered back to Delilah (though in fact he was rather sure that he knew of all who had entered his bar but didn't truly want to be wrong if he didn't notice someone slip in). Because of this, though, Faith spoke first, and all the blue haired man could do was chuckle a little both at the woman and his own observations just as he finished them.
Aside from one man in question, everyone there was a regular and were pretty neutral overall or halfheartedly swung towards the rebels. If it was one thing Lyall liked, it was that people tended to speak more readily when drunk and therefore it was easier to get information. "Yep, pretty clear," he finally answered back making a head motion to one further down the bar who was leaning over the bar and hand his elbow on the table and his head on his hand. This was the man in question. He wasn't a regular at least that Lyall knew (given that he didn't work all the time). However, though it was hard to tell from that particular angle, but the man's eyes were in fact closed. "If he decides to wake up any time soon, I can always just send him home. Everything else's fine," Lyall half chuckled easily before finding himself leaning back and rolling his shoulders a moment before starting to habitually wipe down the bar again.
"So, business keeping you both busy?" he grinned a little towards both.

[ Delilah ] "Mmm," Delilah half-answered both parties on all accounts. She somewhat questioned that no one had looked at them since she'd been there; that didn't often happen, or her ego certainly didn't like to think it did. After a moment, though, she just brushed it off as everyone being too drunk. "Well then... Business indeed," she purred a bit to Lyall. As much as she'd have liked to have tried turning that into something, her attention turned then to Faith. "Apparently, we're working together." This was said to both really. As much as she would've liked to say something about 'showing this rookie the ropes', Faith was sort of right there, and Delilah really wasn't looking for a fight. Of course, in her mind that 'fight' involved more words and less punches than would probably have been the case, but either way. Aside from that, she wasn't actually certain of Faith's experience, and she certainly wasn't stupid enough to try making herself look good when there was a chance she'd be quickly corrected on it. "You do have your half of our target's information?" Her voice had grown a little softer now. They believed it safe, but no sense just shouting it even so. Meanwhile, she had gone back to petting Muffy idly, not even realizing she was doing so anymore. [/blockquote]

Faith's eyes had moved to the sleeping man when he was indicated, and they narrowed as she studied him, trying to find some sign that he may not actually be sleeping. She ignored Lance's question entirely, but her eyes flicked back to Delilah at hers, and the blonde noticeably bristled. Of course I have the information. Do you think I would have shown up here if I didn't?
Instead of snapping, however, Faith reached for another candy, reminding herself that she had to play nice with this woman. Her lips curved into a slight smirk and she let out a snort that could generously be called almost a laugh. "I could tell you underwear colour if I had to," she replied, her volume dipping to match her partner's. Lo and behold, evidence Faith had a sense of humour.
The blonde woman looked at Delilah more directly than she had been previous, not counting when she was glaring. "As long as you have your half, this will be easy." While she no longer looked like she wanted to deck the other woman, the closest thing to 'friendliness' she had was her still-there faint smirk. And, frankly, combined with her words and general lack of warmth in her eyes, some people would say she looked more psycho than anything. One could safely say that Faith was aware of this.

As he listened to both women speak, Lyall found himself looking over both women for a moment beofr ethen looking over the people in the bar again just to not seem so directed only towards them at that point. So they were working together then... yet they both seemed so opposite... Their physical appearances- like he was one to judge on such things, though, right? Right - were not really suiting one another not did their attitudes really seem to match up.... Then again, the short blonde might just have been in a bad mood to begin with which would explain why she had stormed in the way she had. For all he knew, she could - oh hey a slight change in face-. Well maybe he was right then.
And now for a target. Though Lyall wasn't on this rebel mission, he was still at least interested in what they were doing. However, he didn't actively note his interest just yet and instead began to move about again and take care of a few before moving back again.

[ Delilah ] Delilah cocked an eyebrow just slightly. Give me ten minutes and I could find that.. flashed through her mind, but she'd keep that thought to herself for now. "I see," came the slightly dry but still coy response. On the bright side, she seemed to take Faith's change as... well perhaps not a good thing but an improvement slightly? She noticed the mildly unnerving effect of that expression, but tried not to really think too much of it. Of course, her confidence was helped by the fact she knew in the back of her mind that if the tiny woman tried to turn on her here, Lyall would not see fights in his bar, and if she turned in the field, Delilah could probably just sit on her. "As interesting as that sounds," she almost-teased in response, "a name would probably be more useful." After a little smirk to Faith, her eyes darted to Lyall as she explained, bordering on deadpan. "Ingenius, hm? Forcing us to come together this way.." This was half for his sake and half for her own; though she'd already mention Faith's 'half', she still couldn't risk anyone getting the idea the blonde was the only thing who knew anything here. An eyebrow quirked slightly at the response that a name would be more useful. Well, sure, but the fact that he's got Clefairy on his boxers is still pretty interesting. Faith was so close to saying that. Not that she actually knew what Miguel's underwear looked like or anything, and she was sure she didn't want to know, but it was still a pretty good line from her perspective. Faith was calming down (or, at least, her energy was being directed more at the anticipation of giving someone what they deserved than being pissed off), and her sense of humour was quickly demanding to be indulged.
Then Delilah had to try to fill in Lance and ended up reminding her that they weren't here by choice. Faith's mood seemed to instantly sour again, and she looked down at her semi-abandoned drink and stared hard at it. "Yeah, ingenious," she muttered darkly, not realizing that she was clenching and unclenching a fist. The messenger unlucky enough to be sent to her had probably lacked an appreciation for the higher ups' ingenuity, even though she hadn't actually done anything other than snarl and rant.
At least Miss Perfection over there didn't seem much more thrilled about this arrangement, and she was probably just being 'polite.' That helped. A little. Misery loved company, after all.

A small smirk made its way onto Lyall's face as he understood then. So they were each given a bit of a puzzle and had to be able to deal with each other long enough for one of them to either take the other half and abandon the other or for them to actually work together. Seeing as he really couldn't see the first out of those two no matter the tension that seemed to be growing like a weed, Lyall expected the latter. "Heh, seems like you'll both be having a lot of fun then," he chuckled a bit to himself before stopping a moment as someone new entered the bar. However, said person had simply turned and was now walking off towards the pool table. Lyall's eye stayed on the form for a moment before he shook his head a bit and pulled down a cup cleaning it habitually and keeping his eyes looking around ever so often.

[ Delilah ] Delilah went to sip at her drink a bit more as Faith spoke, waiting for something more than the little comment. It became apparent no more was coming when Lyall spoke, but his words made her huff a small laugh. "Oh, loads," she replied dryly. "This just might be even more fun than my last dentist appointment~" As if she could afford a dentist. She really couldn't remember the last time she'd been, but they didn't know that, and the stereotype was fun. With a small, half-wistful sigh, she turned to Faith to ask sweetly, "Anyway.. That name~?"[/blockquote]

Faith's mouth twitched just a little at Lance's comment. Oh, yeah, tons. I just love running half-blind after a target while playing bodyguard for a seductress. When Lance stopped chuckling, however, she abandoned the thought for the moment. Faith turned her head just enough to watch the new arrival carefully out of the corner of her eye, until Delilah spoke to her. She met the other woman's gaze for a moment, not saying anything because the look on her face said it all: Do you honestly think I'm that damn stupid?
Faith's gaze moved to her unfinished drink with a snort. "Oh, just drop it. We both know how this is gonna go," she snapped. Subtle power games were something Faith could understand, but she didn't have a shred of patience for them, and frankly, that sugary tone was seriously grating on her nerves; time to spell things out for her new partner. "You can spend however goddamn long you want trying to get what you need to ditch me, but it'll just make me want to hit you." Want to hit her, but probably not actually do so; Faith hoped Delilah didn't pick up on that.
Faith picked up her glass and gulped down what was left in it. The action was a bit like taking a deep breath and counting to ten, her voice back to its usual flatness as she added, "You should know that the target's a man, though." She didn't want Delilah to be completely in the dark to the point of being unprepared. And that detail probably mattered. Unless it didn't. Faith had to resist the urge to flinch at that thought crossing her mind.

At the comment on hitting, however, he found himself trying to decide whether or not he actually wanted to make a comment on it. Faith had said want right? So... Maybe she'd be mature enough to keep it to herself? Eh, she looked like a kid, so - but well.... Lyall mentally kicked himself a bit wondering why he was debating over something so trivial. Well, it really wasn't. He didn't want a fight in his bar, yet he honestly doubted he needed to say anything about that and just T_T. Finally sighing, smirking, and focusing on cleaning a glass, Lyall simply decided to stay out of it for now. [/scrolly] |

[ Delilah ] And somehow or other, the fact that Faith had just gone off on such a rant at her and even threatened her did not affect Delilah's mood nearly so badly as the fact that Lyall did nothing. (That sigh was inconsequential to her.) Becoming slightly huffy, she put on a bit of a pouty lip and crossed her arms, turning a bit away as she sulked and leaning back against the bar again. "Well you're just no fun at all," she pouted. On the bright side, this reminded her why she only pursued Lyall in passing and cleared her head of that thought almost entirely for at least the night. A few more moments thinking over her words, and she did finally catch that small glimpse of good news. Sighing softly, her tone lightened up a little as she mused with a sideways glance toward Faith, "At least a man should be a little more amusing to deal with."[/blockquote]

Faith quirked a brow when Delilah pouted and turned away, and gave a small snort at what she said. What was she, five? And Faith was plenty of fun; she liked to think so, anyway, but she knew that not everyone considered violence the height of entertainment. At least their line of work meant there was a very small chance of Delilah being outright squeamish, which would be good when Scarlet and Willow were let out to 'play.'
Faith glanced sideways at Delilah when she spoke again, and something smirk-like twitched at her lips. Getting her rant over and done with had cooled her temper for the moment. "I think you'll like what you see," she said. Faith may have been a short-fused ball of misanthropy, but she did have working eyes, and those pictures certainly hadn't been ugly. "And I'd like it if he didn't know I was there," she added. She wasn't asking if Delilah could ensure that. She was saying that she knew she could ensure that.

[ Delilah ] Delilah blinked as she slowly turned back toward the blonde. ... Oh really? This might be interesting after all. Smirking lightly, she cooed, "I don't think that should be a problem..." Not that Lilah should really needed to try to keep a man's attention over Faith, of course~ Just as long as he wasn't one of those men that saw 'small' and 'blonde' and stopped caring about anything past that point, but hopefully Faith wouldn't be seen in the first place. At Lyall's question, she spun around on her barstool and leaned forward to cross her arms on the counter. "Well he's not a peon or we wouldn't be bothering," she teased in response. In other words, no. She hoped he wasn't too low, but she didn't at all put it past her superiors to make this first mission something idiotic just to test how well she and Miss Timebomb over here could work together... Ugh. [/blockquote]

Faith's mouth curved into a proper smirk when Delilah looked back her and spoke, even if that cooing tone was going to get old very fast. "Didn't think it would." This might not turn out to be the single most horrible thing she'd endured while working for the Rebels, assuming Delilah lived up to her reputation. And assuming Faith didn't have to watch her...yeah...Quickly steering her train of thought away from that direction, she thought more about her own side of things. Assuming the location was right for it, Prism, Scarlet and Willow should be able to find good positions to strike. Maybe keep Serenity in reserve in case Miguel's pokemon got involved, and keep Muffy on hand for healing...
Faith suddenly blinked, realizing that her rant earlier probably should have earned her a concerned Audino in her too-small lap, and she looked down to see her sparkly little purple blob peacefully snoozing away, deaf to the world. So much for Muffy turning into a living bouncy-ball from the candy.
Shaking her head slightly, Faith looked back at Lance. His question got under her skin just a little, though she couldn't quite pinpoint why. Then again, questions in general could raise her hackles sometimes, and she'd been going from pissed as hell to sort-of calm and back again a lot during this meeting. Faith gave Delilah a sideways glance at her answer, then looked back at Lance and shrugged. "He's not running the show--" Meaning he wasn't a Duke. "--but he's worth our time."
Hopefully Delilah didn't consider someone who didn't actually hold a proper title a peon. Really, Miguel was kind of a two-birds-with-one-stone scenario in Faith's book. Noble blood (and would be a Count if he hadn't handed it off to a cousin), and a knight. Whose knight, of course, she didn't know, because that would give her a location, and that was all Delilah's half. Still, whoever it was was going to be rightfully terrified when he ended up dead.
Considering something, Faith turned to look at Delilah for a moment, studying her, and asked, "What kind of pokemon do you have, anyway?" She wasn't accustomed to thinking about someone else's team in her planning, and realized that maybe Delilah could have something worthwhile. It didn't hurt to ask, anyway. Hopefully.
