It was only around 8:30 or 9:00 in the morning, and already incredible drama had ensued as Vengeance had apparently come to the conclusion they were actually related. Kali still didn't want to believe her, but could find no evidence against it save improbability. At hearing her full name, age, and birthday, Ven had known she was adopted and at what age she'd arrived at the orphanage, and she'd produced a picture that-... Kali shuddered. She didn't care too greatly for the woman beforehand, but then trying to tell her she actually had a family and somehow still ended up spending most of her life miserable and alone? But that didn't matter! Leon had agreed they'd just pretend that whole ordeal never happened for now, and Kali had a good feeling about the rest of the day! She was seventeen today, and Leon had practically begged to take her out somewhere. As such, she had decided it sounded fun to explore the deepest depths of Era's ruined castle; in the event they actually found anything explicitly marked as off-limits, that would just be the X on their map. For now, their Flygon lighted down a little way out, in the outskirts nearest the castle. It was still early, so the streets weren't too crowded just yet, but it was still probably a good idea to avoid pitting a couple of dragons into the middle of a busy area if they wanted to blend into the crowds. Dismounting and recalling hers, Kali smiled at the white-haired man who held her heart. "So~" she almost-sighed. A part of him was thinking on a few things back at the lab even as he found himself looking towards the castle. However, Kali's words brought him back to the matter at hand, and the white haired man smiled a little. "It's still rather early," he answered back. "We could go further into the capital and grab a bite before we head there if you're hungry." Though he was not particularly hungry himself, Yue had posed the question anyways. [/scrolly]

In truth, she could go for breakfast, but the urge wasn't dire. She could just as easily wait. "You're taking me out, mm? Which means you lead~" Kali knew she'd end up stepping in at points, but it was a logic she enjoyed and had used a handful of times with guys before, though she'd not had as much luck with Leon. Of course, the closest he'd ever come to taking her out purely for the sake of taking her out was back before Akira's masquerade, and that was really mainly to ensure she'd look acceptable to Adrian. Part of him wanted to state that it was Kali's birthday, but then she had made somewhat of a point. "Alright... we'll eat now then," he answered back removing the hand from his chin again and smiling lightly before making a motion towards a different part of the capital before actually starting to walk. In truth, he hadn't the slightest what was around but figured they would find something soon enough. As he walked, Yue looked sideways and seemed to stare at the different shops until finally stopping at what appeared to be a breakfast place that was already open and didn't seem too busy. Stepping forwards, Yue took the door and then stepped sideways holding it open for Kali. Eh... the little things.... [/scrolly]

After all, for all his jerkass tendencies, Leon had always acted something of a gentleman toward things like this. Strolling in and looking around, Kali took in a small but quaint diner that was far from her ideal outing but gave off a rather nice feel all the same. Well, it was just for breakfast, after all. So yes, this was just fine~ A waitress arrived to seat them quickly, handing them some menus and taking drink orders before heading off. Once alone, Kali couldn't help but just watch her master a bit before finally thinking of something to say. "Thank you again." Well, she never said it was something creative to say. Looking down at the menu a moment, the white haired man debated on what to get. The omelet looked good... Hm? Looking up as Kali talked about something else aside from the castle, Yue smirked a little and looked down again. "I'd say we'll head over to the commercial district afterwords and you can pick out a few things you want," he chuckled a little and then looked down at his menu again. [/scrolly]

"Easy enough." he answered back rathr lightly before once again staring at the breakfast menu debating over the omelet or the french toast... The french toast looked a lot better... but then....well maybe both....nah.... The waitress came back with the drinks and set them on the bale before asking if they were ready to order. Yue found himself looking at the menu again. "Just another minute," the white haired man said rather quickly. The waitress simply nodded and walked off again. "We can also look for the desert library if we have time after the castle," he mentioned more as an after thought as he continued looking at the menu. [/scrolly]

Generally she was the one taking a while to decide anything, but no matter, really. At his suggestion, she blinked a few times. Well... That wasn't completely random at all. "..Sure?" She hated to question, though she was still dying to know why he was so insistent they stay out today. Maybe something to do with the library ruins all along? It was also somewhat similar to the castle in exploration value, she supposed. As much as she tried to content herself with theories, however, Kali couldn't seem to help herself. "Why there?" "It's rather large, and there are a lot of different artifacts and things in it," he answered. After yet another second or so, the waitress had come back and asked if they were ready. Yue found his eyes looking down at the menu raising his eyebrow a moment before finally going with the omelet rather than the french toast. Not-watching him inhale some ungodly amount of sugar? Well, this was a present, wasn't it? Of course, he did tend to be much more agreeable when on a sugar high, but eating enough to make a massive difference was a pretty rare occasion. Not that he wasn't perfectly 'agreeable' most of the time now anyway, at least to her, but he tended to be more willing to go along with more of her ideas, she meant. Well, she couldn't complain, at any rate. She was always grateful when he ate something that wasn't going to give him diabetes. How he'd gone this long all right (not that Kali didn't occasionally wonder if he just hid it very well) she'd never know. When the waitress had gone, Kali's attention turned back to Leon as she wondered how to continue. Of course, she could just ask more about the library, but she imagined she'd see when they got there anyway. She'd heard a little bit about it before anyway, though not too incredibly much. One source had accredited far too many Pokemon to the area- a lot more than in any other part of Era anyway- and Kali did wonder about this. Still, she imagined the mysterious nature of the place made it a good setting for stories, and while she didn't know exactly which species were actually there, she imagined most or all should be something from the list she'd seen, even if not the entire thing. Again, then, it was enough for now and she'd see when she got there. So... hm... A sudden thought hit Kali, the intrigue overtaking her expression. "Hey Leon. When is your birthday?" She rather hoped it was sometime between now and the anniversary of when they'd met, or at least if she had missed it that it had been back when she'd first arrived. ...Actually, if she'd missed it she hoped it was around the time she caught him his Slowpoke. Kali sat dumbfound at this for almost a minute, occasionally blinking and just trying to figure out what that could possibly mean. Finally, she gave an uneasy laugh. "Look, I'm not doubting you have the brain or body of a god, but..." She breathed out another syllable of the same laugh before it occurred to her that Leon was on his own at a very young age. Six, wasn't it? That seemed quite old enough to remember, but she supposed there was a chance he may not exactly... Not that she could figure out a way to work this into the conversation at the moment, so the now slightly-blushing Kali just went on with her original thought, though a little more carefully now. "So I don't imagine you'd want to start celebrating again, but I'd still like to be able to keep track of your age. Maybe get you some small something around that time, if you wouldn't mind? "Fine," was all that finally came, yet that was all he really said after that. "I'm a liar, and you know it. I do it compulsively and without even the least bit of thought or regret on it. I've even lied to my own master before out of impulse rather than anything else. I find it insanely hard to let anyone or anything in because a certain idiot took it all from me in one damn move, and having your brain examined to a level you didn't even known about is not the most fun thing ever. I'm thirty. I'm pretty sure my birthday is in sometime in August. I lost my mother on my birthday. I traveled as a little kid out in the middle of the southern wastelands. I ... I broke four fingers the first week of work under Ein but pretended that it was fine and just bruised. I forced myself to be ambidextrous in that time period between the initial accident and when it had finally healed. I once slept with a contact in and woke up thinking I had gone blind. I refused to make friends at Ein's lab and may have even forced a few to quit their jobs and I-..." Yue cut off as he eyed the waitress coming over with the food.
