One Busy Hospital (Elayne/Cora/Open)

As Feils started to make the call Cora started to force her self to calm down. She was useless if she cried, she would worry everyone around her.. And she hated to make people worry. Cora then started to tale in deep breaths and slowly let them out. Cora repeated this a few times till she got control of her tears. It was a start but her emotions where still out of whack.. And it would be a while before they returned to normal.. As the phone rang at the Kendall house, Mrs, Kendall was to busy writing letters to even want to get up and answer the phone. So she asked her maid Felicia to answer it for her. Felicia Bennett ran to the phone and looked at the name on the caller ID. Rossi? Now why where the Rossi's calling here? Felicia shrugged and pushed the talk button and held it up to her ear and spoke. "" Hello, this is the Kendall household, Mrs, Kendall is busy at the moment. This is Felicia Bennett speaking, how may I help you? " Felicia spoke into the phone.

[Jay]

Haii blinked at Elayne's reply unsure of what to say in response. He... hadn't meant anything by it, damn it. After a brief moment, his eyes retreated and found a bed being wheeled in and a rather confused nurse staring at him. Miranda said nothing but shook her head and sighed quietly before moving the bed over next to Haiiro's and then starting to reset equipment there. Haii watched this and managed a 'hi' back at Dedrick.

Upon finishing, Miranda stood up again and looked towards Elayne. "And.............. you are?" she asked in a somewhat confused tone unsure of exactly what else to say to another person being there. She had only slipped out for a minute, and people were coming and going....sigh.

"Elayne," Haii stated flatly causing the nurse to look back at him. "She's a friend," he finished earning a sort of half nod from Miranda who slowly looked at Elayne again.

Sighing a little, she nodded her head fully again. "I need to go see if I can get this new medication filled," she finally mumbled to herself before directly addressing Elayne. "Usually people aren't allowed back here, but... given the circumstances....please just keep an eye on them both." She sighed defeated for words before finally managing a better smile and starting to walk out.

Meanwhile, Felis wouldn't ever fully understand how lucky he was at times (or unlucky at different times). Who knew how many servants or people there were at the Kendall's, and yet he had managed to get a hold of the one he was looking for. "......Hello," he stated after a brief pause upon realizing this was exactly who he needed to talk to. "This is Feliciano Rossi... I'm calling you about your daughter, Ms. Bennett." He paused here trying to figure out what he wanted to say next. "I'm sure you're aware of the bombings at the capital, and it seems Cora was caught in them. She's alive just injured, and I've taken her to the hospital in central capital," he stated these words quickly trying his best and fastest to get to the point.

[Maid Melody]

Elayne hadn't realized the nurse had spoken to her until Haiiro had spoken up and explained why she was there. Nodding in agreement with him, Elayne smiled sheepishly, doing her best all the while to keep the pain from showing on her face even though it seemed as if the boy was sound asleep by now. When the nurse turned to leave, Elayne thought that she should at least mention it to someone and walked over to the nurse and hopefully out of earshot of Haiiro lest he worry about her. "Excuse me miss ... ?"Elayne began quietly, putting a hand on the nurse's shoulder,"Perhaps you could help me with something ... well a couple of things actually. I still haven't found my sister and ... I'm worried about her. And ... I think I did something to my ankle when I was helping Felis find people in the rubble ... ,"she continued. Really the last part about her ankle sounded more hollow to Elayne than the concern about her sister but then again if she had to stand on it one moment longer there was certainly a chance that it would get worse rather than better. As it was it was rather apparent that she was favoring one leg over the other but that could only last so long and Elayne was already starting to wish she could just sit down ... or something.

Lance watched as Elayne went to talk to the nurse and decided to remain where he was so he could watch over the now sleeping Dedrick and to keep an eye on Haiiro as well knowing that was what Elayne would want him to do.

Jalicia did her best to smile at Kitty as the girl asked if she was doing all right,"Yeah kitten, I'm doin' salright as can be expected. Lil' sore still but I 'spect I will be for a while, nothing too serious though hun' dontcha worry about a thing,"she replied in as upbeat a voice as she could manage though this was rather difficult when it hurt to simply breathe. Sure Jalicia wasn't telling Kitty the whole truth but then again the girl didn't need to know anything that could worry more than she already was. It was bad enough that nobody had given them news about Ryan but now Jalicia was wondering what had become of her own family, but didn't see the need to worry too much about this given they lived a little ways away from the Commercial District. Even still, they were bound to be worried about her and Jalicia didn't want to give them any reason to worry about her if she didn't have to. Perhaps if a nurse came soon she could ask them to send word to her family and then ask for more information on Ryan. After all the doctors couldn't keep them in the dark about him for long ... or at least they weren't supposed to.

"Yeah.. All right.." Jae had certainly looked better, but if she said she was okay... Kitty continued to try making small talk (if any talking with Jae could be called small), but some five or ten minutes later, a nurse did peek in to check on them. "You still doing-" she started to ask Kitty, but then saw Jalicia. "Oh good, you're awake. I take it this little angel filled you in a bit, yes?" Perking up, the auburn-brunette chimed, "Just like I said I would!" Granted the tv helped, but she didn't realize that and she'd answered any questions Jae had had, so that was good, right? Right. "Ah, good." See? She knew it was good! "Now, you're probably going to be bed-ridden for a few days, but fortunately things weren't too severe-" The nurse kept going talking to Jalicia about everything they'd had to do and what she could do to help the healing or relieve the pain and so-on, but Kitty spaced out a bit around this time. As Feils spoke fear swelled up with in Felicia and she was lost for words for a moment. She knew Cora was traveling, but she never thought she would be in town as the bombings happened! Felicia Then got her voice back and spoke as calmly as she could though there was a hint of fear in her voice. " Thank you for calling Mr. Rossi, You can tell Cora that I will be right over.." Felicia said. Even though the point of the phone call was for her to talk to Cora, now knowing Cora was hurt Felicia just wanted to be by her daughter's side. Then she thought about Cora's birth Father... He should know about this to.. He still cared for her unlike his witch of a wife. " I will be making a stop to bring someone with me.. Though I should be there soon." Felicia said.

[Jay]

The sounds of feet following her was enough to cause Miranda to stop and look back even before Elayne made note. As Elayne began to list off things, Miranda slowly frowned a little. Looking down at the young woman's ankle, the nurse but a finger to her chin. "I'll talk to another nurse and help you find your sister if she's here. As for your ankle... sit down a moment, and I'll look at it," she stated making a motion to a chair that was still in the room.

Meanwhile, Haii's attention had mostly been on Dedrick who had fallen asleep or so it appeared, but after that, blue eyes had raised up and found themselves staring at Elayne talking to Miranda. He only noticed the motion of the nurse to the chair and assumed it was probably a sort of 'wait here' command or something rather than anything actually wrong.

Felis hesitated a little as he listened in on the phone. "I see... alright. However, can you please stay on the phone for a moment... your daughter really wanted to speak to you, and since you are on the phone..." Felis broke off for a brief moment before looking sideways at Cora and then slowly removing the phone from his ear and holding it out to Cora. If anything, even a few words would be enough, right? Backing up a bit, Felis found that he had backed up straight in the door. Jumping a little, he looked back a moment before looking forwards again.

For a brief moment, Felis didn't know what he wanted to do next. However, as a thought came to him, he decided to act on it. "I'll be right back. When you're done with the phone, just close it to end the call," he reassured before stepping out of the room. Now where had Elayne gone again? He could at least tell her that he had found Cora. Walking down the hallway again, Felis began to look in to the small windows of closed doors looking around still.

However, rather than find the room where Elayne was, Felis found himself looking into--- Hey! Wasn't that Kitty? "Kitty?" was the near shout call that Felis gave from the other side of the door way.

[Maid Melody]

Elayne nodded when Miranda spoke, quite relieved that the nurse was willing to help her and sat down in the aforementioned chair. Sighing with relief upon sitting as the pain in her ankle all but lifted Elayne looked at the nurse to see what she would do now all the while wondering where Felis had gone off to.

Jalicia continued to talk with Kitty, trying her best to make it seem like everything was fine though this was proving to be more difficult than she had anticipated. When the nurse came in and started to talk to her, Jalicia paid close attention to what was being said, just then beginning to understand why she was feeling so much pain at the moment. Of course she had been caught in the explosion so it made sense that Jalicia would be hurting for a while but the very idea of being bed-ridden for a few days was enough to make her groan inwardly. If there was one thing Jalicia hated, it was staying in one place for too long but given the state that she was in currently this didn't seem too bad ... or at least right now it didn't. Nodding her head to let the nurse know she understood, Jalicia was about to reply when a voice she didn't recognize called out Kitty's name. Well now ... who could that be ... it certainly didn't sound like Ryan ... or anyone else Jalicia knew ... . Looking in the direction that the voice had come from, Jalicia couldn't quite see the source of the voice with her bed being in the position it was,"Now who could tha be ... ,"Jalicia mused more to herself than anybody else before looking at Kitty to see what the girl's reaction to the newcomer would be.

Was that--? It took her just a moment to fully take in the blond and confirm that yes, that was indeed who she thought it was. About halfway through Jae's musing, she exclaimed, "FELIS!<3" And with that she was out of bed-- which made the nurse cringe and reach out for just a moment, but the girl only had a broken arm and was actually in such shape that she could have gone home if there'd been anyone to take her, so she decided it was actually all right-- and bounding toward the doorway. At the last moment Kitty did catch herself and stopped, turning a bit before barrelling into him on her good side for a one-armed hug. "What are you doing here?" she started; he looked just fine after all, so that was good. Then a wave of horror hit her. "Where's Rosa?? She's not hurt is she??" Oh gosh she was tearing up just at the thought of it! In all this time, she never thought to introduce the man to Jalicia. Fortunately, the nurse would help with that a little, asking whoever would answer, "You two know each other?" Which two was left vague as well. In this way it came out sounding quite casual and not too prying, but should reveal a good bit. [/scrolly]

When Felis spoke up again and said Cora really wanted to speak to her the older woman nodded even though the Duke would not be able to see that. When the phone was handed to Cora, and Felicia heard her daughter's voice she fought back tears and kept her voice calm. " Hello sweet heart, I know you must feel tarrabul so I wont even ask how your feeling.. But are you doing better." Felicia asked her daughter. Cora was again fighting back tears and spoke into the phone. " Yes mom, I.m doing much better then I was before. the doctors set and casted up my leg.. My leg is broken and the worst injury.." Cora said in a soft voice. Oh god her leg was broken! That just made Felicia worry all the more. Now Cora wont not be able to walk for a while..

The tears where now threatening to to cover come Felicia but she shook her head and held them back. Crying would not help her daughter and even over the phone she could tell by the tone of Cora's voice she had been crying and is trying not to cry right now. " That's good Honey, At lest your safe now. Cora dear I will be over as soon as I can now.. Please don't worry." Felicia said in a happy tone. Her Mother's words and tone of voice did make Cora feel better. And she was happy that her Mother was coming. " Ok Mom, I love you." Cora said. " I love you to Honey.." Felicia said and hung up. Cora then closed Felis phone and closed her eyes. She was going go try to calm down and just wait for her Mother to come.

[Jay]

Miranda bent down and put a hand on Elane's ankle looking it over a little. From what she could tell, it wasn't broken at least. There was defensibly some swelling and bruising forming, but that seemed to be the extent of it. "It seems that you had a minor twist... the best thing to do is keep off of it and put some ice on it," she stated looking back up at Elayne before standing up. "I'll get you some ice after I get someone to look for your sister. I'll be right back." She managed a somewhat calm smile before nodding a bit and making to leave the room. There was much to do, sigh.

Haiiro, meanwhile, had overheard what Miranda had said and ended up crossing his arms in front of himself and staring at Elayne. "You hurt?" was the question in somewhat of an obscure tone. His eyes remained staring at Elayne.

The call back of sorts confirmed who the girl was, and Felis couldn't help but smile. He'd been right. It was Kitty. However, did that mean.... What exactly did that mean? Felis had not time to think on this. The sudden rush over caused him to nearly step back, but after this, he simply bent downwards and hugged her lightly back. Blue eyes dropped downwards and examined the cast on Kitty's arm as two lips did everything they could to keep from frowning. Had she been hur-

Before Felis could finish his thought, Kitty had issued out her own questions. "Don't worry. Rosa's fine," he reassured rather quickly before slowly releasing Kitty from the hug and standing upright again. As the nurse's question came to his ears, Felis looked up and nodded his head. "She's the little sister of a friend of mine, and she's also a friend of my little sister," he smiled before slowly looking over towards the other woman in the room. "My name is Feliciano Rossi," he stated more to Jae than to the nurse though his eyes had settled for an even in between so as not to focus too much on either.

If he had actually thought about it, he probably would have pulled out a few roses and given one to each, but at that particular moment, Felis's mind was scrambled from all that had happened. Thus, that notion had disappeared for the moment at least.

[Maid Melody]

Elayne waited as Miranda examined her ankle and nodded upon the nurse's evaluation, once again kicking herself for her own stupidity at not waiting for the Tropius to land before jumping off. When Miranda left to find someone to look for Cora, Haiiro's voice returned Elayn'e attention to him as he asked if she was hurt. Smiling, Elayne shook her head and shifted in the chair so that it at least appeared she had both feet on the ground when in reality she was still leaning heavily on her good leg. "Nah, I'm fine. Don't worry about it,"Elayne replied in a dismissive tone, more worried about Haiiro and the boy more than she was about herself right then.

Elly who had been laying near the chair that Elayne was now sitting in, looked up at her trainer when she said this and sighed before putting up walls around her mind, blocking out everything else aside from Elayne. The Espeon was faring rather poorly considering all the suffering in the hospital at the moment and was trying her best to fight off a headache. Seeing that Elayne was indeed fine, Elly placed her head back on her paws and closed her eyes, though her ears still listened to every word or sound in the room lest she be caught off guard.

Jalicia's question was soon answered by the sudden cry from Kitty as she ran for the man in question whose name appeared to be Felis unless that was some sort of nickname. Watching the two of them, Jalicia's mind filled with questions, the main one being who was this man exactly and how had Kitty grown so attached to him in the first place. Thankfully the nurse intervened asking if they knew each other, when the man answered the nurse Jalicia was rather relieved when it appeared that Felis was Ryan's friend and Kitty was Felis' younger sister's friend whom was presumably named Rosa. It wasn't hard to imagine that Kitty had met this Rosa girl when out with Ryan on some sort of occassion and if Jalicia remembered correctly, Ryan had talked often about a certain friend he had met though right now Jalicia was rather fuzzy on the details of what Ryan had talked about. Course, Jalicia could have been mistaken and Ryan hadn't spoken about Felis at all ... at this point, nothing would surprise Jalicia considering she was still having a hard time focusing on anything for a long time without getting a migraine. Hearing the name 'Rossi," made Jalicia inwardly grimace and though she wanted more than anything to demand what in high heaven's name they were going to do about the bastard that had destroyed her home and hundreds, if not thousands of lives, but then again there was Kitty to think about. Closing her eyes briefly, Jalicia took as deep a breath as she could without anything hurting and sighed, before looking at the nurse and Felis again," My name's Jalicia an' Imah close friend ta her an her brother. Known lil kitten ever since she was born an' I've known her brother, Ryan, all o meh life ta be sure,"she explained in as friendly a tone as she could manage given the circumstances. Jalicia wanted to ask more questions as to how exactly Kitty and Felis or rather Ryan and Felis had met but with as much talking as she had been doing before the nurse had come decided against this and simply rested with her back against her bed where Jalicia could still see Felis and Kitty comfortably without having to strain.

But actually.... Her mood fell a bit as all the thoughts of Ryan reminded her how bad things were right now. .... o.o Oh but hey! Turning back to the other woman in the room, Kitty asked, "Miss Nurse Lady...? Can we go see my brother yet?" The nurse blinked with a little "Hm?" for a moment, then cringed slightly as if remembering who the girl meant. "Ah..." For several moments she was silent, and then, "..Let me see." She headed toward the door, offering Felis a small, "Excuse me," as she maneuvered past him. That worried Kitty for reasons she couldn't place, but she tried to force a smile for everyone anyway. Looking up to Felis again, she asked, sounding a little brighter than she looked, "So no one's hurt? So why're you in da hospital?" [/scrolly]

The only one in the room now was Isa. Cora then turned her head to look at the Gardevoir, " Isa, go ahead and go to your trainer.. I'm sure your worried about him." Cora said with a weak smile. She did not really want to be alone right now, but she also did not want to keep a pokemon away from its trainer. Cora then went back to looking up at the ceiling again. A sigh escape her and she winced a little as she felt pain in her head. Cora then started to think about what was going to happen now. She would not be able to travel for a long while now.. She would most likely have to go home with mom and stay their till her leg and head got better.. Maaan the healing process was going to a long and boring one. >.< Cora did not like being stuck inside for long periods of time..... [/scrolly]

Isa looked towards Cora and shook her head a little. 'I... can kinda feel him... he's alright..and...you don't....want to be alone, right?' she asked. Though she hadn't intended to pry into the mind of the young woman, that was exactly what Isa was doing. Upon realizing this, she retracted a little and rubbed the back of her neck haphazardly.

Meanwhile, Miranda walked down the hallway only to stop, head back to the room she had just been in, inquire about the name of the young woman's sister, and then start on again. It was all moving rather quickly, and before she even realized it, Miranda had a rather quick exchange with several of the nurses inquiring about a young woman before finally being directed to a room. It seemed that as soon as she asked for someone to look, they became busy. Irritated by this, Miranda finally decided she would have to do it herself, and thus, she ended up heading towards Cora's room. Though she was unsure if this was even the correct room or not, the nurse walked inwards.

Upon sensing someone enter, Isa looked around and found herself staring at Miranda. The nurse hesitated a moment and looked from Cora to what she assumed to be her pokemon. "Excuse me...Are you Cora?" she asked after a brief moment. "My name is Miranda, and I ...or rather your sister had asked me to locate you..." she continued on rather hesitantly ever still. Though she had been initially confident, whatever she had had was slowly slipping through her fingers.

Haiiro had jerked a little when Miranda had come back in rather quickly to ask for a name. However, when it was given and the nurse left again, he relaxed once more and stared at Elayne silently. He wasn't sure he believed that she was 'fine' but he also didn't know whether or not he wanted to pursue the subject. After a moment, he simply sighed and looked over towards where the boy was now sleeping. After a moment, Haiiro shook his head. "This entire thing is... ridiculous," he stated in a mixture of a growl and a sigh as the feeling of defeat was coming to him again.

He wanted to get up and get out, yet he doubted he could do so any time soon. Then there was the matter of the kid.... and what exactly would happen to him.... Making a directional motion with his head towards Dedrick, Haiiro continued to look at Elayne. "Dunno what...." he started but fell silent again. "What to do...."

Elsewhere, Feliciano smiled a little as Jalicia introduced herself and explained her relation to Kitty. As Kitty asked the nurse if they could see Ryan, Felis found himself frowning a little at the response. That brought up the thought: Why wasn't Ryan in this room? Thoughts of the worst kind rattled Felis's bones, and for a few seconds, he found a sickly feeling coming up from inside. Stepping aside as the nurse left, Felis had to fight the urge to follow her and looked towards Kitty as she spoke.

It did help that Kitty seemed bright despite the circumstances and her injury that Felis could plainly see. It managed to take his mind off of what he had been previously thinking, at least...."One of my cousins was hurt," he answered back a bit more somberly than intended. "And when we went to look for her, we found more injured people that we took to the hospital as well." After a brief moment, the blond did his best to perk up. "But I believe everyone's getting better now that they're here, so all should be ok." Or so he hoped.

"You know Rosa's going to want to decorate that and make it pretty...." Feliciano smiled after a moment trying to perk himself up again. "Maybe draw a few flowers and things on it to make it pretty," he chuckled a little before feeling his face fall again. The thought had returned again, and he found himself looking more towards Jalicia now. "Was Ryan with you when...." he started to speak but failed and fell silent again.

Elayne started slightly when Miranda came back in but gave her sister's name quite readily and watched as the nurse went on her way once again. Feeling Haii's eyes on her, Elayne looked back at Haiiro and smiled. She was about to ask him how his arm was doing when he looked at the boy before speaking again. Hearing Haii's words and tone made Elayne's stomach (or was it her heart) feel rather odd ... and she wished there was something she could do instead of just watching helplessly. The only thing she could do was be there for Haii and the boy, Dedrick. Hearing Haii speak up again, Elayne shifted her eyes to Dedrick as Haii motioned to him. Feeling as if her heart had decided to lodge itself in her throat, Elayne swallowed and smiled despite feeling as if she was about to cry yet again at remembering the boy's predicament. "Maybe ... we could see if we can find his family ... . After he wakes up ... maybe he had more than those that were with him ... at least that's what I hope ... ."

Lance who had been staying by the boy's side up until that point took this as a mission of sorts and saluted at Elayne before heading out into the hallway. The Gallade would not return until he had found a solution for what would happen to Dedrick or he wasn't fit to be under the lady's service! Looking around the hallway, Lance started to search for any nurse that would be able to assist him in his search lest he have to resort to searching the entire hospital.

Jalicia felt sick when Kitty asked the nurse if she could see her brother only to have the nurse neatly evade the question entirely. ... that certainly couldn't mean anything good ... doing her best to steady her breathing, Jalicia closed her eyes briefly before hearing Kitty ask Felis what he was doing here. Jalicia had been about to tell Kitty that wasn't the right thing to ask right now but then Felis spoke up, silencing Jalicia. In truth, Jalicia was grateful that Kitty had someone else to talk to for the time being considering she was really starting to feel worn out from trying to at least appear normal under the circumstances when it truly did hurt to talk for a while. Hearing Felis' comment about the cast, Jalicia couldn't help but smile and laugh slightly,"I tol' her much the same thing, cept my Nerina would want to doll up that there cast of hers with ribbons and what not. That Oshawott o' mine is something else tho' I'm sure that she wouldna mind sharing with summun' else,"she replied before hearing Felis' next question. The color drained from Jalicia's face as she remembered all that Kitty had told her," 'tis really all o blur but I do remember hearin' a loud noise outside afore the windows shattered and my house started to fall apart. Kitty here told meh that she called 911 and they found 'er brother by the door ... seems he had just come by for a spell when it all happened ... but the nurse said he'd be jus' fine so he'll be OK. Ain't that right Kitten?" Taking a deep breath as she finished explaining, Jalicia closed her eyes as much from exhaustion as from not wanting the young girl to see how truly worried she was about how Ryan was doing ... best she at least try to maintain a good attitude, even when things seemed bleak at the moment.

Had someone said 'Rosa' and 'roses', she probably would have gotten it and laughed rather harder, but she didn't think of it on her own. The girl had opened her mouth to explain things again when Jae beat her to the punch, so instead she just nodded vigorously at Felis. "That's. Right." A few moments's pause, and she did let herself sigh a little. "I jus hope he's all the way okay...." she mumbled. "His head was bleeding really badly..." In what actually came out as very grim humor, though she certainly didn't mean it that way, she tried to smile and sort of tease, "I hope he doesn' have any brain damage... He wasn' very smart ta start with..~" She tried to laugh a little. Of course, Jae would definitely know and Felis should know that Kitty idolized Ryan and was just playing. [/scrolly]

Cora smiled weakly when Isa said that. Yeah.. She is a physic type and feel the emotion of others. There was no way to hide anything from her. " Heh... Guess its no use hiding anything from you." She then looked up at the ceiling again and sighed. She was not in the mood to try to get Isa to go to her trainer if she did not want to. Instead depression was slowly starting to set in. Some loon had blown the city up and could have killed her and did kill hundreds of others. So many people and familiars destroyed that would never see each other again. Cora closed her eyes as tears started to form again. Though she could not stop them, the tears she now cried weren't for her but for the ones who where killed. When a new voice was heard, Cora opened her eyes to see the nurse. Not even bothering to wipe away her tears she looked at the other woman. " Yes, I'm Cora." she said weakly.


Meanwhile in the sky, Felicia was on her way. She had Bernard behind her as they flew on Tropius. As they got closer to the city the impact of what happened hit Felicia even harder. So many people... And her own daughter had been caught in it. Tears filled up in her eyes and ran down her cheeks. It was too much for her bear. How could someone do something like this?? It was just too evil for words. Felicia said nothing for she knew if she tried she would break down and cry. That would not help matters at all. She then started to look for the hospital After a few minutes she was able to spot it. " Bernard! I see the hospital! We are almost there!" Felicia said though her voice was shaky like she may start to cry at any moment. Within a few minutes Tropius landed in front of the hospital and Felicia got off Tropius back. She waited for Bernard to do the same before returning her pokemon. Felicia then walked into the building. Once inside she waited her turn to get to the front desk. After what seemed like forever she got there and looked at the nurse. " Hello, I'm Felicia Bennett and this is Bernard Laurent. We are here to see Cora Bennett. I was told she is here." Felicia said trying to stay calm.

Miranda nodded quietly as Cora spoke, glad to hear the confirmation. However, the girl's expression, tears, and general demeanor wasn't good. Though she probably should have quickly returned back to the room the other young woman had been in and explain where Cora was along with bring back ice for her ankle, the nurse stepped forwards instead. "Are you alright?" she asked quietly knowing that she wasn't. It was a conversation starter at least. Isa looked towards Miranda and mentally sighed thankful that she was there. She was still too young to know what to say to someone in all this, and hopefully the nurse would be able to do something....

"And what if he doesn't have anyone else?" The question came out far more cynical and mean than Haiiro had intended, yet he'd said it just as he thought of it thus making it raw. Sighing deeply, Haiiro slunk back on his bed and shut his eyes. A part of him thought about apologizing, yet the other part of him refused to take it back. What would happen to this kid if there was no one else? He didn't look old enough to be out on his own especially with no home and family to go back to. Though Haiiro himself had been out on his own rather early on, at least he had a home to come back to... if he ever needed it.

Elsewhere, Feliciano breathed in rather sharply and exhaled as Jae spoke. Ryan should be alright. Ryan should be fine........ Right? As Kitty spoke, Felis stared for a brief moment and found a quiet twitch of a smile coming to his face. "I'm sure... he'll be fine," he answered back trying to gain momentum back up the steep hill to fully positive nature.

Meanwhile, a exhausted receptionist looked up at Felicia and nodded her head slowly bringing a hand down the book of check-ins. "Rachel! You're in charge of two-oh-seven!" the woman called backwards causing a nurse to quickly appear from behind a door.

"Yes?" the nurse asked flatly.

"Is Miss Cora Bennett available for visitors?"

"Y-yes ma'am..."

"Then take these two to see her."

"R-right."

Though usually there would have been rules and regulations on visitors, considering the number of things and people going on, a few things could be dropped for the moment. Thus, 'Rachel' made a motion to Felicia and Bernard and led them to Cora's room before opening the door causing Miranda to look back towards the door.

[Maid Melody]

Bernard wasn't quite used to flying and considering he usually walked or rode to wherever he needed to go this was something different entirely. He had kept his eyes closed for almost the entire flight thinking that if he at least did that he might not feel quite so bad ... how wrong he was. Bernard was beginning to think that flying had been a bad idea considering he had been feeling sick before they had left, mostly because of the news that Cora had been injured in the bombings, this trip certainly hadn't helped matters. When Felicia said that they were almost at the hospital, Bernard breathed a quiet sigh of relief and all but clambered off of the Tropius when it landed, never so glad to be back on solid ground again as he was at that moment. Still, the nauscious feeling in his stomach hadn't passed ... if anything it had gotten worse, still, he was here to see Cora ... a little nausea was nothing to worry about.

Following Felicia inside who seemed to be a woman on a mission, Bernard waited patiently until they could be assisted by the receptionist. After waiting a few more moments, the receptionist introduced them to 'Rachel' and led them down the hallway ... to Bernard each stepped seemed to only make him feel worse ... .Thankfully there was a restroom in the hallway they were headed down which Bernard quickly stepped into right before he proceeded to get sick though he had managed to make it to the toilet in time. Ugh ... one thing was for sure, there was no possible way Bernard was going back on that Tropius, even if he had to walk home surely anything would be better than this. After cleaning himself up, Bernard once again stepped into the hallway only to find that Rachel and Felicia had disappeared ... as if things couldn't possibly get any worse. Sighing, Bernard resumed walking down the hall in the direction he believed Felicia and Rachel had gone when Bernard heard a voice that he hadn't heard in years ... that couldn't be- was that Elayne ... ?

Elayne was indeed in the room Bernard had stopped by but as of yet she hadn't noticed that her father was standing close to the door. Right now, Elayne was far more concerned about what would become of Dedrick to even bother looking in the hallway at what she assumed was a bunch of nurses running back and forth as they tended to their patients. "Well ... we'll figure something out if that's the case but I think Lance will find out. He doesn't give up once he's given a mission and well ... I think you gave him the idea for this one,"Elayne replied after a moment, half-laughing as she remembered how Lance had all but dashed out of the room on his mission of sorts. Seeing Haiiro rest back on his bed, Elayne blinked, concerned,"You all right Haii?"she asked quietly, wishing that there was something she could do to help him or at least be able to do something besides sit here and wait.

Elly looked up when she heard footsteps and froze when she saw Bernard standing by the door ... what was he doing here ... and how long had he been there. Well, at least it wasn't that witch of a mother but even still ... there was not telling how Elayne would react if the shock didn't get to her first ... . Elayne had finally managed to calm down some though it was clear to Elly that this would only last so long. Even still ... Bernard was bound to make his presence known at some point and when that happened ... -

"...Elayne ... ?'

"Damnit," Elly murmured more to herself than anybody though somehow the word had slipped through despite the Espeon's best efforts to remain silent. This was going to be interesting indeed ... .

At the voice, Elayne stiffened and looked in the direction the voice had come from to see that she hadn't been imagining things ...... her father was really standing right there in the door way and-. Elayne's eyes grew wide as a mix of emotions ran through her, what if he was going to take her home had something happened to mother why was he in the hospital had something happened at home why was he here why was he just staring at her did she look all right what was she going to do- ... . These thoughts and more raced through her mind as she stared at her father, speechless with the mess of emotions running through her mind. Elayne was shaking slightly by this point but she didn't notice this ... blinking, Elayne took a breath, not realizing she had been holding it before,"D.d.d.dad ... ?"she finally managed, though her voice sounded more like a squeak than anything else,"What- ... ha ... you ... her- .... ,"she stuttered, trying to get make her thoughts known but failing miserably. Elayne's face was as white as a sheet and she was gripping the chair underneath her so tightly her knuckles had turned white. Elayne blinked as her vision started to fade and shook her head slightly in an attempt to make the sudden lightness go away only to find that the action had made it worse,"I ...-,"Elayne began only to pass out mid-sentence from the shock of seeing her dad on top of her already frayed nerves.

Bernard watched as his daughter looked at him ... Elayne was all right ... , sure he'd received letters from her which he treasured but seeing her in person after all these years was another thing entirely. Of course judging by her reaction upon seeing him, Elayne was more surprised than anything else and possibly worried about what his surprise visit might mean. She looked so pale though ... perhaps today had been harder on her than he- . Bernard's thoughts were cut short as Elayne suddenly fainted and fell towards the floor. As if on instinct, Bernard dashed towards Elayne, managing to catch her not a moment too soon. Shifting her unconscious form so that he was holding her in more of a side-hug, he tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Oh angel ... ,"he whispered, feeling tears well up in his eyes,"What has happened to you ... ."It was only now that Bernard realized there was other people in the room ... a sleeping boy and another young man whom Bernard assumed Elayne had been speaking to considering he was the only other person awake. "Pardon the intrusion ... I hardly meant to startle her. I'm Bernard, Elayne's father,"Bernard said quietly, not wanting to wake Elayne quite yet.

Elly had been just about to catch Elayne with Psychic when Bernard beat her to it. Blinking, the Espeon remained where she was, though she continued to watch Elayne and Bernard closely.

Lance meanwhile was attempting to flag down another nurse to see if he could locate someone for Dedrick. He had been sent on a mission after all and the Gallade was bound and determined to carry it out if it was the last thing he did!

Kitty couldn't possibly know how much that little piece of information had the opposite effect on Jalicia. Simply hearing that Ryan had been badly hurt was enough to make her breath catch and for a moment Jalicia felt as if her heart had stopped ... but this was all just silliness, breathe Jae ... Ryan would be fine ... and he certainly couldn't possibly have brain damage. Closing her eyes, Jalicia breathed out quietly before opening them once again and blinking away the tears that had formed. "Dontcha worry kitten, yer bro's a fighter, an' a stubborn one at that. I dun think he's gonna let a thing like this getim down fer long,"Jalicia replied after a moment. Though it was harder to believe her own words when it felt like the whole world was caving in on you ... perhaps things would turn out all right but for now all Jalicia could do was hope that Ryan would really be all right.

Yeah... Ryan would be fine. He was a fighter.. So he'd be fine. Not long after, the nurse returned, but she looked.. less positive.. "Your brother..." She took a deep breath for courage, then huffed a little; she seemed hesitant, as if looking for the right words. "He really needs more time to recover... It may be a few more days before he's really stable.." The look of despair that overcame Kitty made her cringe a little, but it was all right; she'd already taken this into account. Continuing just as planned then, she added, "But I think.. I could manage to let you see him for just a moment.." Then, more quickly: "As long as you promise to be very quiet, just in and out. And be prepared, because it probably looks worse than it is." Kitty gave a little squeak at that last part, but was then overcome with a look of determination she may or may not have picked up from all her time hanging out with Rosa. Nodding fiercely, she declared, "O! Kay!" The nurse then looked between Jalicia and Felis. Really, she probably shouldn't have allowed anyone in just yet, but.. Well, there was so much on everyone's plate at the moment she hadn't even been able to find anyone immediately available to ask. She had actually been a bit late even getting around to checking on their room (not that the girl or woman seemed to have noticed, thank goodness), but she didn't want to leave them hanging for too long again, and as such had just checked his latest information and made a judgement call. With everyone so busy, they probably wouldn't notice them slipping back for just a quick minute. At any rate, it would be important for Ryan to hear from friends and family in his recovery, and it was clearly important to little Catriona-- er, 'Kitty'-- to make sure her brother was alive and... not so much 'well' as.. Well, it should help all of them to see him alive and to be able to see and hear exactly what was going on; they needed to know what to expect. Of course, there was a small problem... "I really am sorry, sweetie.." she told Jalicia at last. "You really do need to stay in bed for now, though. Perhaps you'll be able to come on the next visit?" She tried to make that sound as hopeful as possible. "< Awwwwwwww..." Her attention then returned fully to Felis. "And you said you're a friend of the family?" He'd said Kitty was his friend's sister, at any rate, and she hadn't mentioned another sibling to the nurse's knowledge. Kitty answered for him. "Uh-huh!" Her hands balled up and raised to her chest in a gesture of mild excitement, and she nodded again. "Felis an' Jalicia are Ryan's best friends, or at leas' the best ones I've met." On rare occasion, Ryan would mention some stories of old friends, though he never went into much detail on those for some reason, or sometimes he'd mention people he met while traveling alone or that he'd been working with for any given time. She didn't think any of the latter would get close to Jae and Felis, though<3 This got a smile from the nurse. "Ah, all right, good." And back to Felis. "Do you want to come back with her, then..?"
