One Busy Hospital (Elayne/Cora/Open)

When the nurse asked if she was ok, Cora nodded her head though her tears said other wise. She then shook her head and started to cry again. She could no longer try to hid the emotional pain she was going through. Ugh she wanted to kick her self though. She hated to cry and HATED to cry in front of strangers more then family. But the tears where coming and there was nothing she could do about it.

Felicia had not noticed that Bernard had taken off somewhere. She was to focused Cora. When the nurse lead her to the room her daughter was, Felicia thanked the woman and walked into the room. What she saw made her just want to start crying to. Cora was in tears on the bed and she looked like hell. Ignoring Miranda and Isa, Felicia went right to her daughter's side " Cora! Its me dear. I'm here honey." Felicia's words dripping with fear and worry for Cora. Cora looked at her mom and more tears came from her eyes. " M- mom!" was all Cora could say and her Mother hugged her gently.

Haiiro was quiet a when Elayne asked if he was alright. He wasn't and knew that, but that didn't mean he was going to say this outright. He was tired, among other things, and all he found himself wanting to do was rest. However, he didn't want that... He wanted to get up and get out of the hospital. He didn't like being in here despite what consequences it would have on his body, damn it.

A questioning voice that he didn't recognize forced Haiiro's eyes open, and dark blue spheres stared at the man that had just entered. They didn't rest there for long as Elayne acknowledged the man as her father. Looking back at her quickly, Haiiro's eyes widened as the girl quite literally fainted.. Though it probably wasn't good for his arm and the rest of him, Haiiro had instantly tried to force himself out of the bed trying to manage to snag Elayne and keep her from hitting the ground. However, Bernard caught her. Freezing in his place on the bed, Haiiro stared at the man that Elayne had registered as father.

Shit. He knew Elayne's story, if maybe not all, but he remembered that damn bounty hunter that had been after her, and that was enough to register aggression on instinct. Even when Bernard introduced himself more or less honestly, Haiiro seethed a little. "The hell are you doing here?" he barked. If this man tried to take Elayne away and put her back to whatever life she had tried to escape, Haiiro wasn't going to let him. It was her freedom, damn it. The thought that maybe Bernard wasn't here to do harm didn't even register to Haiiro. He didn't register Bernard as the better of the two parents and was instead clumping one with the other in his mind. That man was as much to blame for that crazyass woman coming after Elayne back then, and Haiiro was far from amused. "Don't you dare take her," was the more than harsh last statement.

Meanwhile, in a different room, different stuff was happening. As the nurse reentered the room, Feliciano's eyes scanned over her face trying to find something to say that Ryan was alright. However, all that he picked up was negativity, and he found himself fighting the urge to say anything just yet. As the nurse addressed Kitty, Felis looked towards the girl and tried to formulate some neutral expression if not a comforting one. As the nurse actually began to speak, Felis found his expression faltering up until the nurse explained that they -or maybe just Kitty- could see him. The mix of positive information and Kitty's reaction was enough to bring a small smile to Felis's face again. At least they could see him....

As the nurse addressed Jalicia, Felis looked back towards her for a moment and offered a quiet sympathy expression. Hopefully everyone would get better quickly...hopefully.... When the nurse turned her questions to him, Felis was about to answer when Kitty answered for him. Smiling softly, he looked back down at the girl and then up at the nurse again. "Yes, if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to see him," the blond answered quietly nodding his head. Whenever the nurse made to walk, Felis followed at her heels, a bit too close for reason but mostly driven by the wish to not get lost again. Oi... he needed to get back to Elayne later too....Hopefully she and her friend were alright. If he had known the state of Elayne at the moment, Felis would have been torn with whom he wanted to address first, yet fro now, he was headed towards Ryan.

Somewhere else, poor Isa mentally recoiled a little. When the woman had suddenly entered, the Gardevoir had been flooded with the feelings running off Felicia, and she actually took a few steps back nervously. She sensed another nurse and looked towards the woman whom had just entered, but she seemed to be conversing with Miranda. After a moment, the nurse that had just entered left, and the latter remained standing there. "Ma'am..." Miranda started a little weaker than before. "Your other daughter is here as well..." she said more or less assuming that Elayne was Felicia's daughter. "She's in another room, but she's fine outside of a sprained ankle.."

[Maid Melody]

Bernard flinched slightly when Haiiro questioned him but looked at the man calmly,"I was informed that my daughter, Cora, was in the hospital. I came to see if she was doing well when I got separated,"he explained calmly, not about to mention that he had gotten sick and didn't remember which way Felicia and the other nurse had gone,"I was trying to find out which way they had gone when I saw Elayne ... ,"Bernard continued, his voice growing quieter as he looked back down at Elayne. It had been so long since he'd seen her last ... and she had grown so much in that span of time but ... Bernard could never mistake his own daughter even after not seeing her for so long.

Hearing Haii speak again, Bernard looked a little hurt at the accusation of sorts."I have no intention of taking Elayne anywhere ... , I am simply relieved to see that she is all right. It's true that I do wish that she would return home but until circumstances change that is not going to happen ... I realize that ... ,"Bernard replied in a quiet voice before sighing and looking down at Elayne. Truly he wished things had been different but when Madelyn had insisted on 'taming' their daughter Bernard had known that it was only a matter of time before Elayne had enough ... though even he hadn't forseen her running away.

Elayne stirred slightly in Bernard's arms but remained as she was, still quite dead to the world for the time being.

Elly flinched when Haii yelled at Bernard and all but leered at him,"Calm yourself Haii ... besides, do you really think that I would allow Elayne to be taken back to that witch. I've fought for her this far and I'm not going to stop now,"the Espeon said calmly, speaking only so Haii would hear.

When the nurse came back in looking far less positive than before, it took all of Jalicia's will to not panic right then and there and- ... . OWOWERUIWDF stable!? What ... was ... wrong ... with ... Ryan?!?! ... Jalicia paled considerably at the news and found that she could barely breathe ... it felt as if a ton of bricks was weighing on her chest just to prevent such a feat. Closing her eyes briefly and willing herself to breathe again, Jalicia managed a small smile at the news that Kitty would actually get to see her brother. Though by the sounds of it, Jalicia wasn't entirely sure that letting Kitty see Ryan was the best idea but then again maybe it would help her at least some.

When the nurse addressed her informing Jalicia that she needed to stay in bed for the time being, Jalicia was actually relieved to say the least of things. If just hearing the news that Ryan wouldn't be stable for a few days made her feel this sick ... Jalicia surely didn't want to see Ryan just to confirm the nurse's words were true and Ryan was in serious trouble. No ... Jalicia would be fine staying here where she could remain in denial ... if only for a time. "Salright~, I understan,"Jalicia replied in as upbeat of a voice as she could manage. She ... needed to stay strong for Kitty's sake ... but in truth, Jalicia didn't know how much longer she could keep this up, though hearing Kitty's response to the nurse did cause her to chuckle slighty.

Hearing Felis say that he was going with Kitty relieved Jalicia ... at least Kitty wasn't going to be alone when she saw Ryan. That was good ... right ... and right then it didn't matter if she didn't know Felis well, Jalicia trusted Ryan ... and ... if Ryan trusted this man then for the time being that was enough for her. When the nurse, Felis, and Kitty left the room Jalicia made sure that Kitty was out of earshot before sighing and finally letting the tears that had been threatening ever since she had first woken up come. Everything seemed to be falling apart ... and ... even thinking of Ryan in such a state was painful ... . Shifting to a more comfortable position on her bed, Jalicia closed her eyes in an effort to block out the pain that she had woken up to ... this had to be a dream right ... but somehow Jalicia knew that this was no dream ... that Ryan really was hurt and Kitty- ... that angel had to go through so much ... . Exhausted and upset (to say the least of things) it didn't take long before Jalicia drifted off into a peaceful slumber.

As they got closer, she began to explain. "Now be prepared," she told them both. "It looks pretty scary, but I promise you plenty of people have completely recovered from worse. It's just going to take some time." Already she was feeling a bit more hesitant about bringing such a young child to see this, but.. it wasn't as though she wasn't going to find out. It was much better she see and hear everything now. This way she'd have more time to cope with it and let the initial shock wear off, so she'd feel closer to at ease by the time her brother could come home. Not to mention the rough shape he'd be leaving in would look much better compared to now, which should also help in the long run. As they came to a door, she paused and looked back at the man and child, the latter of which had taken to clinging slightly to the prior. "Now.." she started in a hushed tone. "This is the Intensive Care ward, so you'll need to be very. quiet. All right?" Kitty nodded in response and pretended to zip her lips, though the nervous look on her face was evident. Her heart was pounding faster and faster the closer they got. The nurse led them inside, where, as it happened, it wasn't very quiet at all- hardly surprising considering the massive influx of patients.There seemed to be several large rooms with many beds in each, though most of these were curtained off from each other. Doctors and nurses seemed to be moving almost constantly, though really it wasn't so much frequent as just in great numbers. The woman stopped for a moment to check a clipboard in her hands, then led them to a quieter area of the unit where it seemed either there were less patients or those there were just a bit more stable. "Here we are..." she mumbled, grabbing the edge of the curtain. Looking back, she warned mostly-Kitty, "Be ready." Kitty nodded, but when the curtain was pulled back, she couldn't help but give a small shriek in shock, though she pursed her mouth shut and covered it instantly afterward. Was...... that really Ryan... The sleeping man there looked like him... mostly... but Kitty had never seen Ryan with short hair, let alone with most of his head shaved. Bandages covered his head, as an eyepatch covered one eye. A small tube ran up under the bandages, and didn't seem to come out anywhere. Another small tube stuck in his arm with an IV attached. But of far more concern was the larger tube that ran down his throat. A few small cuts and scrapes had been bandaged here and there, but it seemed the majority of the damage had been to his head. "Now remember what I told you," said the nurse, referring more to looking bad than being quiet, though both worked, really. With that, she began explaining his condition. "He hit his head really hard, and it crushed his skull a little. They had to shave his head to operate and move all the bone back where it's supposed to be." B-b-....BONES?? DB HOW was this supposed to be HELPING Kitty??? "That tube-" she pointed, "just helps us make sure there's not too much swelling or pressure, and we shouldn't need it much longer." ...Oh. All... right then? That.. that was okay right? Kitty tried to understand. The nurse referred to the others. "And this just makes sure he's getting all his nutrients and fluids, and helps us give him medicine when he needs it. And here..." She looked to them both with a weak but sincere smile. "I assure you, he can still breathe just fine. But by letting this machine do it for him, his body doesn't have anything else to focus on- not even breathing- so it can put allll its energy into helping him heal faster." Her smile grew a bit. "So see..? Not as bad as it looks." Hmm... What else should they know about his injuries..? "Ah... Also, his eye should get better in a few weeks or so.. maybe a little longer... He's just going to need to wear the patch to keep strain off it while it heals. ..And it seems he had a few teeth knocked out or chipped, but it's nothing too serious really. Pretty standard dentist visit once he's recovered enough to thing about that sort of thing." Had Ryan been awake, he might have told her they couldn't afford to just go to a dentist whenever they felt like it, but as it stood, Kitty just kept nodding with each new piece of information, trying to take it all in. So he... most of this stuff was just to be safe.. right? Because better safe than sorry. But he'd be fine soon, right? Yeah, right! He.. He'd be just fine. Moving back toward the visitors, she moved on to the other half of her explanations. "Now... He's asleep right now from the medicine, but last time he was really evaluated he did preeetty well on the GCS-- the awareness scale we use. He's been averaging an 11 or 12 of 15-- 15 being what any of us would score. He's still struggling a bit with eye control and motor skills, but he's trying. And he still seems really disoriented when trying to answer questions, but he's making enough sense he does seem to understand the gyst of them. Like.. we asked him his birthday, and his answer didn't match the one you gave us." This was directed toward Kitty. "But he did give a date. He knew what we were asking; he just couldn't remember the answer." That was about as confusing as helpful to Kitty. He.. couldn't remember his birthday?? She pursed her lips again, but managed a timid, "Did.. did he forget a lot...?" It was almost as much squeaked as spoken. "Ah-" She reluctantly nodded. "You might say that... Any serious head injury tends to have some level of concussion. He might not remember much at all when he finally gets to go home, but... Well, that's where you come in, sweetie." She smiled, doing her best to be as positive as possible. "He's going to need you to treat him as normal as possible, and just talk to him a lot and help him and be patient. He should remember everything and be back to normal in a few months tops... and I know that sounds like a long time, but really, it should be over before you know it, and it might even be a lot quicker if you're lucky and do a good job as his helper~" Be Ryan's helper....... All right. Taking a deep breath, she nodded. "...Yeah.. I can do that." All the same, she swallowed hard. She... wasn't going to cry.. She had to be strong for Ryan, and for Felis, and for Jae and... no, she was definitely teary-eyed already, but she was trying, dangit. She was trying to be strong for everyone.. [/scrolly]

For a few moments Felicia just held her daughter in her arms. It had been a long time when she was able to hug Cora last. The girl wrote letters but rarely came home. Felicia then let go of Cora, tears running down her face as she looked at Cora's tear stained face. She may be hurt but at least she was alive. When Miranda spoke up the maid looked over at her and blinked, What? Other daughter?? Felicia blinked a few more times with a confused expression. But then is slowly dawned on her. Elayne was here to!! And the nurse must have thought she was Elayne's Mother to.. Oh how she wished that was the case. " You must be... Talking about Elayne.. Well I'm not her Mother, though I wish I could have been.. the poor girl... And..... wait where is?" Felicia said now seeing that Bernard was not in the room. She was unsure if Cora knew the name of her birth Father so she did not want to say the name outloud.

Cora blinked when it seemed that her Mom had lost someone. Never in a million years though would she think it was her Father. So Cora said nothing. She was just happy to see her Mother again. A annoyed look came to Felicia for a moment but then she smiled at Miranda. " Ma'am, if you could be so kind telling Elayne that her sister would like to see her? And also see if you can track down the man I brought with me.. I would do so my self but I want to stay with Cora."Felicia asked and hoped that was not to much to ask for. Cora blinked again when Her mom said she brought someone with her. A man?? did she have.... no way did her Mom have a boyfriend?? O.o " A man?? Do you have a boy friend???" Cora asked in utter shock. Felicia's eyes grew wide and she blushed a deep read when Cora asked that. Looking back at her daughter Felicia shook her head, and laughed. " What??? A boyfriend?? Thats silly! No he is not my boy friend. He is already marred and has a wife."
Cora did not know rather to be disappointed or relieved.... So she said nothing.

[Jay]

The other daughter? Cora. Haiiro blinked realizing that somehow he had forgotten she was related to Elayne. Mentally kicking himself, Haii simply continued to leer before finally forcing his form shakily off the bed. His entire body still felt weak, and whatever numbing medication was running through his system certainly wasn’t helping his motor control any. However, Haiiro wanted on his feet and would fight his way all the way up if he had to. Managing to take a few steps by using the railing that the bed had to move forwards, Haiiro simply continued to growl.

Despite Bernard’s words, and despite Elly’s, Haiiro found himself far from cool. Rather than saying the harsh words that had come to mind at Elly, Haiiro kept his focus on the man that had just entered the room. ”You let a crazy ass bounty hunter with a fucking gun after her! And who in hell knows what else!” he barked back defiantly. He didn’t know all of what had happened to Elayne, but that run in with the blond woman with the gun was enough to make him assume that there was more than just that. Whether it was the mother’s doing or not, Haiiro didn’t care. This man, this parent could have stopped it or something to curb whatever had been happening, and even if he had, it certainly didn’t seem like enough.

Though his view of parents was a bit distorted from his own home life, Haiiro didn’t care. What kind of parents did that to kids? ”Put her down,” were the somewhat lower but still seething words that escaped after that.

As Felis followed after the nurse, he found himself looking here and there at the different doors that they passed along the way, yet the distraction didn’t last long as the nurse started talking again. Blue eyes flashed forwards again and seemed to focus on what was being said. Feeling the cling of sorts, Felis just raised a hand and set it gently on Kitty’s alternate shoulder, a comforting gesture that had been brought about by Rosa. The sudden rush of people in the unit that they had just entered raised Felis’s heart rate a bit higher than it had been before, yet he did his best to fight down the adrenaline rush that was coming into him.

Upon coming to the curtain, Felis had done his best to prepare himself, yet as blue eyes found Ryan, all the blood rushed out of the blond’s face. He ended up biting his lip and standing there silently as the nurse talked with Kitty. Though he was pretty aware of what was being said and could say a bit back if prodded, his main focus was on the appearance of the man at the moment. It… he just…it…. Ryan… Thoughts, questions, and stress swarmed like bees, but none of them, save for the stress, was really clear cut, easy to understand, and logical. God damn it… all these people.. and Cora and …Haiiro… but this took the cake, and though he was still biting his lip, Felis found himself shaking slightly as another rush of tears threatened to breach the surface. I can’t do this in front of Kitty! he mentally shot at himself knowing that it wouldn’t do her any good –or him any good- if he just broke down here again.

And then that sadness turned to a surprising rage that hissed out as a breath from Felis. Whoever started this, whoever broke the capital down… whoever had harmed all these people, all his friends… Felis wanted to punch whoever did this in the face. More than that, he wanted to fight this person. I will find out who did this… he mentally swore as a somber expression settled on his features. And I will make them pay.

However, for now…he wouldn’t show Kitty this side of himself either. After a moment, Felis forced a calm into himself and came to the full realization that the nurse had been talking about memories and Kitty helping. ”You won’t have to do it alone either, Kitty…” he whispered trying to be encouraging as he looked at the girl. ”I’ll…” he stopped a moment. ”Jalicia, Rosa, and I’ll help,” Felis finished before bending down to her level and offering a smile as best he could. After a moment, the blond stood up again and looked back at the sleeping man Don’t worry, Ryan. We’ll take care of you… Felis mentally sighed before looking back at the nurse. ”Tha-…thank you for letting us see him…” he said quietly after that.

….Well that was awkward. Miranda found herself sweat dropping a little at Felicia’s words. The thought that maybe the father had divorced and remarried or something was the first thing that came to mind, but the two girls she had seen looked about the same age if nothing else. The sudden words out of Felicia brought Miranda back down to the world, and the nurse jumped a little before nodding her head. “A-alright,” she answered back. Though she hadn’t seen any man with Felicia, she had heard the other nurse already saying she was going to go try and find what had happened to him… Well, at least they could track him down, and that took one less strain off of her. ….And then the situation just kept getting more awkward. After a moment, the nurse just nodded her head, excused herself, and left the room rather quickly.

Meanwhile, the Gardevoir who had managed to relax after a few moments finally stepped back closer to Felicia and Cora. ’Hi Misses Cora’s Mom…’ she greeted a bit more childishly than intended, but it was a start. ’My name is Isalia’ she smiled using her full name for reasons she wasn’t quite sure of herself. It just felt… more proper? And she was talking to an adult and all….

Meanwhile, Miranda was walking rather quickly down the hallway getting back to the room she had last seen Elayne in. Running into Rachel for a moment whom said that she hadn’t found the man in question, both just agreed to look around and continued on their separate ways. Stopping right before she turned down the correct hallway, Miranda remembered that’s he was supposed to be getting ice as well and quickly headed off to get some. It took less than a second, and once more she was on her way back to the room. After an exasperating stretch, she came into Haiiro’s and the boy’s ro---

…. “Sir get back in bed,” was the order that shot out of Miranda’s mouth before she realized it. Haiiro, who had just ordered Bernard to put Elayne down looked rather sharply at the nurse who had just entered causing her to freeze and stare for a few seconds “Sir, I mean… sir please get back into bed…” was the comment that was quickly fixed. Haiiro’s attention didn’t stay on the nurse, and instead, he looked back rather accusingly at Bernard.

It was when the dark haired young man’s attention shifted that Miranda actually noticed the older man in the room holding—the young woman she had been talking to? “Sir? What exactly is… going on?” she asked looking more or less at Bernard finding his face a bit more settling than the sharp expression that Haiiro was giving at the moment.

[Maid Melody]

Bernard blinked when Haiiro forced himself out of bed,"I don't think-,"he began before Haii's words cut him off. Bernard's eyes grew wide and his entire visage registered shock at the news ... he had known that Madelyn had put the reward out out of desperation but and at the time he had thought it to be harmless but ... this ... this had not been his intention when he had allowed the posters to be sent out. Closing his eyes briefly, Bernard swallowed, fighting back the tears that threatened to come ... what had he done ... he loved Elayne ... to hear that she had been attacked was the last thing he wanted to have happen. "I ... had no idea that was the case ... ,"Bernard began in a quiet, pain-filled voice,"If I had known this would happen ... I would never have allowed those posters to be sent out ... . I- ... I will talk to her mother when I return and take them down as soon as possible. Please believe me when I say that I would never seek to harm her ... my wife wanted her back home ... but I was a fool to allow such a drastic measure to be taken."

Looking down at Elayne who was still unconscious in his arms, Bernard once again found himself fighting down the emotion that threatened to choke off his words. When he heard Haii speak again, demanding he put her down he visibly flinched, obviously hurt by the demand ... but he knew that his own inaction had caused this ... the spite filled words were the least he deserved after allowing this to continue for so long. Even still, Bernard wasn't about to put Elayne down and was about to say as much when a nurse entered the room and ordered Haii to get back into his bed.

When the nurse question Bernard he looked up at the nurse,"It's ... kind of a long story ... ,"he began, breathing out quietly as he continued,"I was separated from the nurse that was taking me to Cora's room and was on my way there when I saw Elayne ... . I hadn't seen her in years ... but when I spoke she fainted, I suppose this day has made her overwhelmed and I know she certainly wasn't expecting to see me here. I apologize for the misunderstanding,"he explained in a calm voice. Well ... that was the short version of it at least ... though it seemed that Elayne was still unconscious ... perhaps this nurse would help the young man to calm down, if nothing else all would be explained when Elayne woke up once more.

Elly sighed when Haii continued to yell at Bernard and though the Espeon wasn't all too pleased with Bernard right now, she could tell that Haii's words hurt him. Of course when Haii mentioned the bounty hunter Elly paled slightly ... that had certainly been a nightmare ... and one that she didn't want to repeat anytime soon. Bernard's assurance that he would take the posters down soon did help a little but even still ... . When the nurse entered once again, Elly found herself relieved ... perhaps Miranda would be able to calm the situation or at least try to.

Dedrick stirred slightly in his sleep though it seemed that he was quite a heavy sleeper ... that or the medicine was making him more tired than usual. The young boy still seemed quite dead to the world and not even Haii's angry words seemed to be able to rouse him.

Lance was growing rather impatient ... there didn't seem to be any nurses available to assist him in his search. Still, the Gallade wasn't about to give up looking for Dedrick's remaining family, not until he got some answers. After all, a soldier does not abandon those in need yes, he would just need to search harder that was all.

She had known Jae would be there to help, but somehow Felis caught her off-guard. "...Really??"

[/size] Her squeak was pretty small, though, so she wasn't sure if Felis even heard her.

When he thanked the nurse, the woman nodded. "Once things have settled down more, it would help him a lot for you to come back and talk to him." Ushering them out and closing the curtain again, she told Kitty, "Let's get you back to your room for now, though.. I'm sure Miss Jalicia is missing you."

"..Yeah.." The girl once again clung to Felis's pant-leg with her good hand and began following the nurse back. Once they got back en-route, she bit her lip and hesitated before looking up to him. "...Felis?" she squeaked. "You... you an' Rosa'll really help us....?"

So distracted was Kitty that she didn't even realize among all the doctors and nurses and occasional patients and few Chansey and Blissey, there was a certain Gallade not far off...

Felicia jumped when she heard Isa's voice. Her eyes went right to the Gardevoir. she blinked for moment till it registered that it as the pokemon that spoke. Felicia then smiled warmly, she stood up and walked over to Isa. " Well hello there dear, you may call me Felicia. Cora is this one of your pokemon dear?" Felicia asked looking back at Cora who seemed to have calmed down. Cora shook her head, " No, her trainer is... What was his name again?... Anyway She and her trainer where the ones that got me out of the ruble." Cora said and smiled over at Isa. Felicia eyes grew wide when Cora said she had been trapped under ruble. She then looked back over at Isa and hugged her. " Oh my goodness! I thank you for saving my little girl!" Felicia said, she took a step back and took Isa's hands into her own. " If there is anything I can do to repay you and your trainer, just name it. And I wont take no for answer. Felicia said and she meant it.

[Jay]

A defiant cynical expression came to Haiiro upon seeing Bernard's expression. He'd just crippled any argument against him, and to the battler, that was a win. However, this expression faded into something more somber as Bernard kept taking. Tch, this wasn't a battle situation, anyways. Looking away, Haiiro crossed his arms in front of himself resting one on the cast of the other.

Meanwhile, Miranda sighed a little quietly as the man spoke. After a moment, she nodded her head before putting hands on her hips for a moment and staring at Haiiro. "Back into bed, sir," she said trying to gain her resolve back. There was no way she was going to back down on that argument. Sure the dark haired young man could get up, and sure his worst injury was his arm, but she was sure he had other minor injuries as well that needed to be watched and allowed to heal.

Haiiro leered back at the nurse for a second before flashing back towards Bernard. Not dropping his hard stare at the man, Haiiro slowly stared to edge himself back to the bed. Miranda breathed out thankful that he was doing as she had asked and quickly moved to help him back up. Once he was seated back in the bed, Haiiro crossed his arms back in front of himself and continued to stare all but threatening Bernard to try and run.

Miranda shook her head slowly and then walked back over to Bernard after. "Well... she has a minor injury on her ankle..... We need to elevate that ankle ... please put her in that chair," Miranda stated directing the motions before pulling over another chair and moving the girl's leg up onto it before setting the wrapped ice on it. Looking back up at Bernard after that, Miranda blinked upon remembering the requests that had been made. Well.. the girl was sleeping now, but... was this the man that the mother of the girl had asked her to find? "Uhm..." Miranda started rather unsure. "Were you with a blond haired woman when you came in?" she asked trying to avoid making it awkward and ending up making it more awkward at least to herself.

As the nurse spoke, Felis nodded his head a little fighting down the somber feelings that were once again making their way onto him again. "Alright, thank you," the Duke answered before following the nurse out. Finding someone small at his side again, Felis looked down before offering a hand rather than a pant-leg. As they walked Felis found himself caught up in his thoughts, but Kitty's voice dragged full awareness back into the man, and he looked down again as she asked if he would really help. "Of course we will," he answered back with a genuine expression and a nod of the head. "That's what friends do, right?" he asked.

After this, Felis looked upwards again only just in time to catch sight of a Gallade roaming. Though he honestly couldn't recognize Gallade as a species apart from one another, there couldn't be that many in a hospital.... Oh what was his name though... Ah, that was right. Elayne had named him after Felis's own brother, or that was the way Felis had took it. "Lance?" was the questioning call as the blond haired man stopped there for a moment hoping that he didn't lose the nurse in the process.

As Felicia introduced herself, the Gardevoir offered a gentle smile back, yet at the question that Felicia had asked, the Gardevoir shook her head. No her trainer was Haiiro.... Hai please be ok... She couldn't feel his exact thoughts through this loud mesh of pain and agony that surrounded the hospital, and it worried her a little. However, a faith that was rather deep written into her was assured that everything would be alright. Haiiro was alright. 'Haiiro' she projected the answer to Cora's starting statement.

Finding herself suddenly embraced, Isa blinked for a few seconds before smiling a bit more. It was comforting, and the Gardevoir returned the hug gently. 'Welcome' was the quiet answer back. As Felicia spoke, a quiet laugh escaped from Isa. Honestly there was nothing she could think of at the moment that she needed, and because of this, she formulated the most polite of answers she could give. 'Thank you... I'll have to talk to Haii about it," she hummed a little before nodding her head and sighing a little. 'I ... hope he's alright...' was the accidentally projected thought that followed. Haiiro was strong though, right? He had Steel with him too... He'd be alright... Isa was sure.

[Maid Melody]

Bernard watched as the nurse helped Haiiro back into bed and sighed. He wished that there was something he could say to the young man that would change his mind about the opinion he seemed to have already formed about Bernard. No words came however and before too long Miranda was informing Bernard of Elayne's mild sprain. Nodding at the instructions given by the nurse, Bernard stood slowly and set Elayne in the chair.

After Miranda had gotten Elayne situated, Bernard found himself looking at his daughter wondering what else had happened since he last saw her. He had been receiving letters from her lately which he was all too happy to receive. Still, it was one thing to write to someone but it was another thing entirely to see them in person. Hearing Miranda speak once again, Bernard returned his attention to her and nodded,"Yes actually, we got separated and I suppose she didn't see that I was gone,"he explained kindly,"Do you know where she is?"

No sooner had Bernard asked the question however that Elayne stirred and opened her eyes slowly. Still a little disoriented, Elayne wondered how she had gotten in the chair or for that matter how ice had suddenly appeared on her leg. How long had she been unconscious ... was it ... had it ... had it all been a dream? Surely it had been a dream, there was no way that her father could possibly- . No sooner had Elayne thought this that she realized that her dad really was in the room ... it hadn't been a dream after all. "Dad ... ,"Elayne whispered, her voice filled with emotion.

When Bernard heard Elayne speak, his attention shifted from Miranda to Elayne in a heartbeat. Smiling gently at his daughter, Bernard knelt beside her chair and hugged her which Elayne returned rather easily,"Angel ... it's all right ... . I promise, everything's going to be all right ... ,"he whispered in return.

The response Elayne had recieved from her father was more than she had ever hoped for. She had run away from home without a single word, had even refused to even so much as write until Felis convinced her to at least contact her dad. She had fully expected her dad to be angry with her but this ... this was something Elayne didn't think would happen in her wildest dreams. What Elayne had expected to happen she wasn't quite sure of herself, after all her dad had always been on her side. It hadn't been his fault that they were here now. True, Elayne was still a little afraid about what might happen now that her dad knew where she was but that could be dealt with later. Right now she was in his arms ... listening to him tell her everything was going to be fine ... and she believed him."I missed you so much Dad ... ,"she finally replied after a time before withdrawing from the hug (albeit relunctantly) and looking at Haii with a soft smile on her face. "Dad, this is Haiiro. He's a good friend, we've been through a lot together you could say,"Elayne said calmly, unaware of the tension that had been in the room before she had regained consciousness.

Bernard smiled when he heard Elayne's words and hugged her a little closer to him,"Me too angel ... me too,"he whispered before Elayne pulled away from him. Standing up as Elayne introduced the young man in the room as Haiiro, Bernard nodded at him before looking down at Elayne and catching the smile she was giving Haiiro. Looking back up at Haiiro again, Bernard smiled slightly before chuckling softly as he realized the reason (or so he thought) that Haii had been so defensive of Elayne. "It's a pleasure to meet you Haiiro,"Bernard replied in a calm voice before looking down at Elayne with a knowing smile,"You are certainly lucky to have a friend like him ... ."

Oblivious to Bernard's thoughts about what Haiiro could possibly mean to her, Elayne only smiled more and nodded. Seeing another person in the room, Elayne realized that Miranda was back after all. Blushing slightly as she realized she had probably been oblivious that Miranda had been there all along, Elayne smiled sheepishly. "Sorry ... I didn't realize you were back. Did you find her?"Elayne asked, remembering that she had requested Miranda to find Cora prior to her father showing up.

Lance looked up when he heard his name and bowed to the duke,"Duke Felis, a pleasure to see you once again. Do you perhaps know how I can locate the boy's remaining family? I have found that the boy's name is in fact Dedrick but he neglected to inform me of his last name. I was hoping to find a nurse to ask if they knew about his family's whereabouts but alas they all appear to be busy and I am loathe to keep them from their various missions,"the Gallade replied, making sure to voice his thoughts only to Felis and the young girl beside him lest anyone else overhear. Seeing the young girl beside Felis, Lance smiled gently and bowed to her as well so as not to seem rude the girl was certainly cute but-. Right, mission focus ... looking back at Felis the Gallade waited patiently to see if the man could indeed help him.

Past that initial moment of pause, though, she found an even greater surprise. "..Dedrick??" Some part of her should have known that it could be anyone with the same first name, but everyone else she knew seemed to be here.. What reason had the child to think it was unlikely? Still clinging to Felis's arm, she mustered a little courage to face the stranger Pokemon. "I--I know a boy named Dedrick! He's close ta my age witf dark hair 'n' skin 'nd eyes and-- Have you seen him, is it that Dedrick??" [/scrolly]

Felicia nodded as Isa spoke, she would happily wait for her to talk to her trainer, though when Isa said she hoped he was ok. Felicia hugged her again, like a mother would to comfort her child. " I'm sure he is alright dear." Felicia said and pulled back. " Though if you want you should go see him." Felicia said. Cora sighed and shook her head, " I have tried to get her go already... But she wants to stay. Though I'm glad she did, I may have just started cryinhg and not had been able to stop." Cora said with a weak smile. With more people here to talk to it was easier to fight back the tears. Though at any moment Cora could start to cry again.

Felicia nodded at this and took one of Isa;s hands " If thats the case then, come sit. No need for you to be standing the whole time dear." Felicia said with a gentle smile and lead Isa to a empty chair that was next to hers. Though before Felicia could sit down, a flash of light came from one of her pokeballs. Cinccino appeared on the foot of Cora;s bed. She was tried of being in the pokeball so long! D< " Cinccino!!" She cried out happily She turned around to see Cora, A huge smile came to her face and she leaped over to Cora who caught the Cinccino in her arms. "Cin Cinccino!" " Oh Cora!! I have not seen you in such a long time!! You have grown so much!" Cinccino cried out happily.

Cora just smiled weakly as she hugged the fluffly pokemon. " Nice to see you to Cinccino." Normaly would have laughed but she was not in the mood to laugh right now. Cinccino blinked when Cora did not laugh and only smiled weakly. She then saw that Cora had a bandage on her head, she then looked back to see one of her legs in a cast. D8 explains Cinccino's expression. "Cin cin cin cinccino!" " Ooooh nooooo!! What happened??? Who hurt you! They will pay for this!!" D< No one hurt Cora and would get away with it! Felicia swet dropped a little before sighing. She then picked up Cinccino who stopped and blinked. " Cinccino, Cora is ok... Calm down or is back into the ball with you." O.O;; Cinccino gulped and nodded, she then jumped out of Felicia arms and snuggled up to Cora, as if trying to make her feel better.

Miranda sighed a little upon hearing the confirmation that Bernard was the man that had been with the mother of that girl but if he was also the-- oh she was getting confused, and everything was just becoming awkward. "She's with her daughter..." Miranda murmured after a moment. "I can--" However, as Elayne stirred, the nurse looked towards the girl. Feeling even more awkward as Bernard talked with his daughter, Miranda raised a hand to her neck and ended up staring at Haiiro instead.

The dark haired young man remained sitting in bed watching the entire scene play out, and even through the confusion, the exchange of words, etc, he forced himself to keep the exact same hard expression -- as he found himself being introduced, Haiiro found himself unable to keep his stern expression and settled into something not entirely positive but certainly less negative. "M..." was the answer that escaped. Dark blue eyes slid away and stared at the wall instead. He wasn't satisfied with the situation but... if Elayne was smiling and seemed happy then...

Miranda had been effectively staring into space until she realized that she was being addressed. Blinking, she quickly smiled and rubbed the back of her neck. "Right...yes I found her, and -er- her mother is there with her now last I checked," she explained feeling that awkwardness again. "If you want, I could take you to her...though you really should keep off that ankle," she said after a moment before looking at Bernard and figuring that he was big enough a man to carry the girl if needed... She could always just get a wheelchair as well though it would take a little longer... which really shouldn't have mattered, but time seemed to have constricted with all that had gone on.

Upon hearing that the nurse had found Elayne's sister, Haiiro looked back and stared at Elayne for a moment. "You should go talk to her. I'm fine here," he stated flatly. It would also clear the room for a bit. He needed some quiet time, meh....and... it would also probably put some worry to rest in Elayne.

Miranda sweat dropped and looked towards Bernard. "Uhm..." she said after a moment. "You could ...just carry her... it's not too far.." she assured before making to step towards the door before looking back.

Felis smiled a little upon finding that the Gallade was, in fact, Elayne's. As he asked about the boy's remaining family, Felis was then reminded that there....was...still so much to do. Kitty's sudden reaction to the name Dedrick only caused a look of shock to come to Felis's face. Was the child someone Kitty really did know? At that point, it wouldn't have surprised him. He'd already run into Ryan and this hospital was taking in good numbers of people and.... These thoughts were actually depressing Felis rather than confirming his thoughts.

"Kitty you-- er... " and once more Felis was caught in what he wanted to do. They needed to get back to Jalicia, but they also needed to see if the boy was really....After a moment, a thought came to Felis "Lance, do you think... you could project some sort of image -er- thought to Kitty of what the boy looks like?" he asked. The blond actually had no idea if that request could be followed through with. He didn't know enough about psychics, but they were powerful creatures so...

Isa smiled a little at Cora and Felicia's words. After a moment, she hesitated and then finally moved to sit down in the chair, her hands placed in front of her gently. As a smaller pokemon was released, Isa turned her head to one side and watched for a few seconds before bringing a hand up to her mouth and laughing a little.

Elayne listened as Miranda explained that she had found Cora and felt almost instantly relieved. She didn't want to admit it but Cora had been an almost constant worry for her. She was glad to see Haiiro was all right aside from his arm (or so it seemed) but even still being able to see her sister and know that Cora was all right would help her nerves at least a little bit. But ... seeing Cora would mean leaving Haiiro and she wasn't-. Elayne's thoughts came to a halt when she heard Haiiro speak up saying she could go. Blinking, Elayne looked at Haiiro,"You sure ... ?"she asked quietly before nodding,"... all right then."

Bernard listened as Miranda explained that she had found Felicia with Cora and nodded. Listening to the short exchange between Haiiro and Elayne, Bernard found himself smiling, though the reason behind said smile would be kept to himself. When Miranda said that he could carry Elayne, Bernard nodded and gently picked up his daughter after making sure she had picked up the ice pack. With Elayne now in his arms, Bernard looked at Miranda once again,"If you'll lead the way Miss ... ?"

Lance blinked when the girl, whose name appeared to be Kitty (strange name for a girl ... or so he thought) seemed to know Dedrick. Looking down at the girl as she described what the boy looked like, Lance was about to confirm the girl's suspicions when Felis asked if he could project an image of Dedrick. Bowing slightly to Felis, the Gallade nodded,"Of course Duke Felis,"he replied before showing Kitty an image of the sleeping Dedrick as he had appeared before Lance had left on his mission of sorts.

She didn't know where his room was, but... she'd SEEN it, it HAD to be-- After a few times stopping and changing direction, Kitty finally stopped for real, realizing she actually didn't know where she was going. Turning back to Felis and the Gallade, Kitty worked to slow her minor hyperventilating. Finding words, she told them, "De... Dedrick is.. Jae's brother.. He.. He's my best--" Thinking better, she corrected, "He was my best friend before Rosa." No wait that sounded bad for Dedrick. "I mean I still love Dedrick too, I--" Dammit. "They're BOTH my best friends. What happened to 'im? How bad 'z 'e hurt?? Is 'e gunna be okay??" [/scrolly]

Felicia smiled when her pokemon calmed down and she sat down on the chair behind her, Though she looked over at the door and frowned. Where in the world was Bernard? We was right behind her... How could he have gotten lost?? He was so going to get a ear full if he ever showed up... She then looked back over to Cora who was hugging Cinccino, Cora may be putting on a brave front... But Felicia knew better. Her brave, strong girl was shaken to the very core. Felicia then looked over at Isa with a gentle smile. " Well dear, please tell us about your self and your trainer. I know I want hear more about the trainer who saved my little girl."

When Her mother asked that Cora gave a sigh, in her head her Mother did not need to ask that.. But once she wanted to know something she would not stop, looking for answers. So Cora looked down at Cinccino and started to rub her big ears. Cinccino make some happy sounds as Cora did that, and snuggled into her a little more. Not having much to say Cora closed her eyes and just listened to the conversation between Isa and her Mother.

At Elayne's question for reassurance, Haiiro found himself unsure. Fuck. Fighting back the urge to shake his head, the dark haired man simply nodded his head rather sharply after that. Watching as Bernard picked up Elayne, Haiiro sat back a little in the bed but just stared. You'd better not-... was the start of the mental threat, but Haiiro Navi had no idea what he was trying to end with and ended up sighing.

Miranda watched as the man picked up his daughter and simply nodded again before turning out of the room and starting down the hallway. Leading rather easily to Cora's room, Miranda stopped for a moment before simply knocking on the door once and then opening. "Excuse me, there is someone to see you," she said after a moment before holding the door open for Bernard and Elayne by extension.

Isa, meanwhile, had fallen into uncertainty on what she wanted to say about her trainer and herself. They were travelers... they battled frequently... yeah.... 'He's...' Isa started as she tried to find the right word to apply to Hai. 'He's really really strong' she finally decided on and nodded her head. However, whatever was meant by this strength, Isa didn't get to explain for in another moment, a knock came to the door and the Gardevoir instinctively stood up only to see a nurse addressing all three in the room. Someone had come to see...Cora?

Kitty's reaction was enough to cause Felis to recoil wishing that he hadn't asked in the first place. However, before he could say anything, the young girl had taken off. "Kitty!" was the call that didn't seem to get anything in return. The nurse whom had been a good few feet ahead now seemed to freeze at the shout and looked back. However, she was only met by the sudden image of a blond haired man taking after the girl. "Kitty come back," Felis called.

When Kitty had stopped, Felis stopped and found himself putting a hand to his heart and trying to catch his breath. She'd moved fast for someone with such short legs-- er... in comparison, of course. However, as Kitty spoke, Felis understood. A quick glance was given to the Gallade before Felis turned his attention back to Kitty. Bending down a bit, Felis did his best to keep eye contact. "Kitty... I'm sure he's fine..." Felis did his best to reassure her despite his own uncertainty. "Lance... the boy's alright, isn't he?" the Duke asked. On second thought.... "Would it be possible to take us to him?" Well... there was the decision then... They'd probably get back to Jae later.. or something.

Elayne remained silent as they walked to Cora's room. It was rather odd being carried by her father but if it got them to Cora's room faster, Elayne wasn't going to complain. Once they reached Cora's room, Bernard set Elayne in a chair once again and walked to a corner of the room where he was out of the way for the time being until Felicia introduced him. Elayne smiled at Cora when she was set down,"Cora, how are you?"she asked quietly. It seemed that Cora was doing well enough with the Cinccino in her arms but Elayne didn't know Cora well enough to assume such things.

Lance flinched at the sudden screech when he had shown Kitty Dedrick. It seemed that the girl did indeed know the boy and-. Before the Gallade knew it, the girl had bolted with the man in her wake. Sweat dropping at the sudden reaction, Lance followed Felis and Kitty just as the girl started to ramble. Kneeling down so that he was eye level with the girl, Lance did his best to smile. "Peace miss, Dedrick is just fine. From what I know of it he was caught in the blast but only has a broken leg and minor injuries besides that,"Lance said in a kind, gentle voice before hearing what Felis asked of him. Nodding, Lance stood and motioned for Felis and Kitty to follow him back to the boy's room.

Of course now it was getting worse because she was thinking about it again, and also possibly from that burst of energy a minute ago, but still. All right... Stay calm... ;-; Why was calm so hard. Looking up to Lance again, she asked, "Is... he still sleeping...?" That was what the Gallade showed her, after all. "...He.... He prolly needs ta sleep, right..? So..." She turned to Felis, eyes asking what her tone was not. "We shoul' probly tell Jae first.." She'd want to know, right? [/scrolly]
