One Busy Hospital (Elayne/Cora/Open)

Felicia blinked when the nurse returned, when Bernard entered carrying another girl she blinked in surprise. When he sat the girl down and spoke like she knew Cora, it dawned on her that this girl.... This girl must be Elayne!!! the two must if met on the road, no words could express the joy Felicia felt. Though she looked after at Bernard and gave him a scolding look. Saying she would deal with him later. Cora opened her eyes and blinked when new people came into the room. She smiled when she saw Elayne, but blinked when she saw Bernard.. Who was that and why was he carrying her sister?? Oh, her ankle... But still who was this guy?? When Elayne asked if she was ok, Cora looked at Elayne and gave a weak smile. No she was not but she was not going to let Elayne worry over her.

" I'm fine Elayne.. What about you?" Cora asked weakly. Cinccino looked at who walked in and smiled hugely when she saw Bernard. Another person she has not seen is such a long time! "Cinccino!!!!" the little pokemon cried out, she then got out of Cora's arms and jumped into Bernard's. Cinccino snuggled as if Bernard was a good friend that she had not seen is a very long time. Cora blinked, she knew Cinccino.. acting like that she knew that man and that meant her Mother did also... Thoughts started to form but she pushed back. No, it couldn't be... Slowly Cora looked back at her Mother. " Mom..... Who is that??" Cora asked and she almost did not want to hear the answer.

Felicia face plumed when her pokemon did that, when Cora asked who he was... Felicia took in a deep breath and breathed out before speaking. " Cora... You remember whne I said I worked for another family before the Kendalls? Well... That family was.... Is your brith family... And that man... Is your Father." Felicia said and pit her lip. Cora's eyes grew wide and anger started to swell within her. So many things that her Mother had not told her! And now the father who just gave her up with no reason, and never did nothing to help Elayne. Was here in this room!!! If Cora had not been feeling so weak she would have done more to show her anger. Her face darkened, " What is he doing here???" Cora weakly hissed those words.

Oh...this...was so awkward. Miranda's eyes flickered abut for a moment before she quietly stepped back out into the hallway. "If you need me I'll be down the hall," she said rather quietly before quickly exiting. The woman didn't do well when it came to pressing family matters or whatever in the world she had just invited into the room.

Isa meanwhile, offered a smile to the man that had entered before quickly noticing the girl he carried. 'Elayne!' she spoke up rapidly before quickly making her way over even as she sensed the tension in the room grow. 'Elayne is Haii alright? Are you ok?' she asked rather quickly before falling silent as she could no longer deny the tension. Looking from Bernard to Elayne and to Cora and then Felicia, she frowned unsure of what to say.

Meanwhile, Felis breathed out a little as Kitty spoke. They-... yes that was true. They needed to get back to Jalicia anyways and tell her the state of Ryan and... Dedrick. At least one would bring good news... well both brought varying amounts of good news and --er-- ugh. "Right... let's get back to Jalicia first," he said quietly for a moment before offering Kitty his hand again and walking then towards the nurse who seemed to then lead back to the room.

[Maid Melody]

Lance felt relieved when the girl finally did calm down and nodded when he heard Kitty's question. "Last I left him Dedrick was still sleeping soundly,"the Gallade replied in a gentle voice before hearing the decision that they should go see this Jae first. Bowing slightly, the Gallade nodded at the decision before following Felis and Kitty to where he presumed Jae's room would be.

Elayne smiled at Cora's response and nodded,"I'm fine, this is just a sprain but I really better keep off of it for the time being,"she explained calmly before Cora brought attention to Bernard. Upon seeing that the Cinccino that had been snuggling with Cora was now in Bernard's arms, Elayne laughed softly. The Cinccino was certainly adorable and it appeared she knew her father somehow ... which was rather interesting considering how Elayne didn't remember ever meeting a Cinccino before today. Wait ... this woman was Cora's mother? Ooooh, that made sense but ... wait, Cora's mother had worked for her parents before. Elayne's mind reeled at the revelation as hundreds of questions came to mind but these thoughts all came to a halt when she heard Isa's voice.

Bernard laughed softly when the Cinccino jumped into his arms and started to scratch the small Pokemon's ears,"It's nice to see you too,"he chuckled softly before looking up once again.

Laughing softly, Elayne nodded, "Yes Haiiro is all right, his arm is in a cast and from the sounds of it will take some time to heal but other that that he's fine. I'm fine though don't worry about me," she replied calmly before she heard Cora's voice. Evident hurt appeared on Elayne's features at Cora's question but before Elayne had a chance to speak Bernard stepped forward.

"Forgive me Cora ... I know that you have every right to hate me. Perhaps this will explain some things,"Bernard replied as he shifted the Cinccino slightly before pulling out an envelope from his jacket pocket and handing it to Cora.

After Cora had finished reading Bernard smiled slightly,"I realize this letter is months late as far as your birthday is concerned but for whatever reason it got lost in the mail when I originally intended to send it. Besides, I believe news of this magnitude should be given in person,"he replied in a calm gentle voice,"You must have questions, feel free to ask them. I promise I will do my best to answer them no matter what the question may be."

Jalicia had been sleeping rather soundly until she heard footsteps approaching. Looking up to see Felis and Kitty return, Jalicia sat up slightly and smiled at them. She wanted to ask how Ryan was but though she desperately wanted to know that her lifetime friend was all right, she dreaded the answer at the same time. Jalicia was so lost in her thoughts about how Ryan was doing that she didn't even realized a Gallade had followed Felis and Kitty into the room. Breathing out slowly, Jalicia waited to see what news they had of Ryan because she sure wasn't going to outright ask Kitty lest it upset the lil' angel. Goodness knows Kitten had been through enough today to last her a lifetime.

Her mind was currently preoccupied with one thing. After all, they all knew where Ryan was (well, Jae didn't fully, but she knew he was in the building), but Dedrick was new, and so he had taken priority. For a good ten seconds or more after they reached the doorway, Kitty stood, still clutching Felis's hand, looking for her voice or even an ounce of courage, but finally, the child forgot all attempts at plans and simply broke. Bursting into tears, she raced toward Jae and thought just in time to stop herself from barreling into the injured woman, burying her face instead in the blankets right next to her. She managed to bang her arm pretty well on the bed in the process, which only made the tears come out harder, but she didn't give more than a small shout of discomfort for that before returning to her main concerns. "Why did this happen?" the girl half-asked, half-shrieked. "Everyone is hurt and their friends are hurt and-- who would do this??" She was starting to become a bit incomprehensible as the sobs seeped more and more into her voice. "Ryan's gonna take so long to get better an' Felis said his fam'ly got hurt too an' now Dedrick's here too and I just wannit all to stooooooo-o-op." That word broke off into pure crying, and she just stayed there letting out everything that had been building up over the course of the day, especially the most recent parts. [/scrolly]

Cora blinked in shock when her Mother said she had once worked for her birth family. Though before she could say anything Bernard spoke up. Cora glared over at her so called Father when he spoke up, It was very clear she hated him. From what she heard from Elayne and the fact as far as she knew just kicked her out of the family when she was just a baby for no reason. In her mind he was no better then her evil sounding birth Mother. When Bernard handed her a letter, Cora did not take it right away. "Like a letter will fix everything...." Cora thought, she did not care if Isa heard that. Cora then slowly took the letter, she opened it and her eyes widened. She knew that hand writing. Cora paled a little as she read on, no.... No way. The mastery person who wrote her every year on her birthday...

Was... Her Father!!! WHAAAAT!!! For a moment it looked like Cora was going to faint. She may have if it was not for her anger that was getting stronger. Trying to keep herself together, Cora set the letter down on her lap and glared up at Bernard. Though it was a little softer then before, " It..... It was you the whole time??? Why.... Why didn't you say anything!" Cora found her self shouting a little. She realized she was shouting, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath and breathed out. She then looked at Bernard again, " There is something I want to ask... No two things.... Why was I given away like I was nothing? Also... How come you never stood up for Elayne???" She wanted to go one with something else.. But thought this would not be the best time with Elayne here..

Felicia said nothing as she watched Cora, she knew her daughter was angry and would have loved to say something. But this is between Her and Bernard, it when was her time she would speak up. Cinccino have a cute little purring sound as Bernard scratched her ears. He always did right! How she missed him! Though when Cora more or less shouted, Cinccino looked over at Cora and her ears drooped when Cora looked angry at Bernard . Why? Why was she so mad at him? ;-;

[Jay]

Felis had stopped as Kitty stood there in the doorway, and blue eyes dropped to asses the girl hoping she was alri-- well, no of course she wasn't completely alright but...yeah. AISCNIASCJB KITTY! As the girl let go of his hand and rent running over towards Jalicia, Felis stepped forwards rather quickly but ended up drawing back in another second. Kitty's words unintentionally cut him, and he stood there fighting back the urge to cry with her. It won't help the situation. Don't.... Feliciano mentally argued. He didn't know why anyone would do this. He didn't know why someone would cause so many people to suffer. He didn't.... The blond gulped a little and forced his legs forwards stepping closer to Kitty and setting a hand on her shoulder before dropping it weakly to her back. He didn't know what to say. Feliciano had no words to explain because he simply didn't know. "It'll... It'll be ok... Kitty..." Felis mumbled doing his best, and somewhat failing, to be reassuring.

Isa stood there fidgeting with her hands and just staring at the group. The sudden rush of emotion that was bleeding through the room was threatening to make her cry. These were people she cared about... well... she didn't know Cora too well, but she knew Elayne, and Elayne was -sisters?- with Cora, and that and just and and and and.............and as it only escalated, something rather unexpected happened to Isa... The Gardevoir's entire body went stiff, she stepped back weakly, and suddenly dropped to the ground having fainted. Woops......

Jalicia's smile slowly faded when she saw the faces of Felis and Kitty. Had ... had something happened ... ? Ryan was all right wasn't he and- OWEIRWOERU KITTY! All thoughts came to a halt as Kitty suddenly burst into tears and stopped at the edge of the bed. Hearing the small yelp made Jalicia flinch internally but she had to stay positive ... for Kitty ... but with the young girl crying at the side of her bed this was becoming harder by the minute. Jalicia didn't even register that Felis had stepped beside Kitty but instead leaned over as best she could and gave Kitty an awkward hug of sorts. No words came to mind as Jalicia heard the young girl's questions but any response she had been forming came to a screeching halt as she heard the next words out of Kitty's mouth. The temptation to ask what was going on with Ryan was even stronger now but all this paled in comparison with the news that Dedrick, her sweet little baby brother ... Dedrick was here.

Jalicia's features had paled considerably at the news and for a moment she found it hard to breathe. There ... there would be time for questions later ... right now there was a crying angel next to her. As much as Jalicia wanted to panic, to ask what in tarnation was going on she forced these thoughts down and simply held Kitty for the time being. "Shhh angel, honey ... we'll get through this justya wait an' see. Yer brother's a fighter like I said and he ain't gonna let no injury beat him so easily. Iunno why any person would do this but it happened and we jus hafta make the best of eht,"she whispered in a gentle voice. By now Jalicia was near tears both because of Kitty's crying and the knowledge that Dedrick was in the hospital as well. If that was the case ... then where was the rest of her family. They had always been close and unless something had happened to them ... no ... she couldn't think like that, not now. Perhaps they were just delayed ... or they hadn't heard that she was here yet ... yes, that had to be the case.

Lance looked on as Kitty proceeded to cry and flinched internally at the range of emotions in the room. From what he had gathered this had to be the Jalicia that the young girl had been talking about but obviously this was not the time to inform her about what had happened to Dedrick, and by consequence the remainder of his ... or rather, her family. The Gallade was certainly not looking forward to being the bearer of bad news but then this day was turning out to be a day for bad news now wasn't it. As it was it didn't appear that his presence had even been recognized by Jalicia or by anyone else in the room. Lance wasn't about to push the point though and simply waited until the right moment to tell this Jalicia what had happened that day.

After Cora had finished the letter Bernard watched her face carefully to gauge her reaction. Seeing her glare at him hurt, but he supposed it was to be expected ... .Bernard had certainly not expected for the news to be taken lightly but even still, he had hoped that the letter would help ease things at least somewhat. "I did not believe that you would take kindly to the news that I was your father initially Cora. My duties as a count prevented me from coming to see you and I had wanted to deliver the news in person,"Bernard replied calmly to the first question as Cora took a deep breath.

At the next questions Cora asked, Bernard closed his eyes briefly and absentmindedly scratched the Cinccino, as much to calm him as to keep the little Pokemon happy."I had no intention of giving you up for adoption Cora ... ,"Bernard began quietly,"The day you were born I was so full of joy. When I held you both for the first time I swore I would never let you go. I left the room at your mother's request and when I returned I found you missing. Madeline explained that another family had taken to you and she had let them have you. I suspected there was more to this but didn't question further ... . Now I wish I had, perhaps I could have gotten you back despite her objections. As for the other question ... I did stand up for Elayne. There were some things that I couldn't help despite arguing with Madeline over such things and my duties as a count kept me away from home the majority of the time. The day before Elayne left home Madeline and her had been fighting again and I attempted to intervene only to be given an ultimatum. I was to choose between my wife and my daughter which was an impossible decision. I held my tongue and the next day, Elayne had disappeared. I promise you one thing though, as soon as I am able to return home I will take those posters down. There's no need for them that I see now that we know Elayne is safe and well cared for."

At Bernard's explanation to Cora, Elayne found herself tearing up ... he really did care about her. After so many years of running and thinking that her situation wouldn't change the promise her father made was a welcome one indeed. When Isa fainted, Elayne flinched and looked at Elly who immediately used Psychic to slow the Gardevoir's fall. If Elayne's ankle hadn't been hurt she surely would have gone to the Gardevoir's side in an instant but at least for now Elly would be able to help her.

Elly ran over to Isa's side when she released the Psychic that had slowed her fall and nudged her cheek much as a concerned mother would. The Espeon had learned to close off her mind to all but Elayne thus allowing her to remain sane. Elly hadn't even thought about Isa who was more sensitive to the raging emotions in the room. Mewing softly, Elly sat by Isa's unconscious form and waited.

Cora looked at her Father her gaze nether hardening or softening. So many things she would love to say but her words where failing her. Tears once again started to fill her eyes and she looked away from her Father. She... She wanted to believe his words.... But she couldn't. In way she was protecting her heart... She did not want to open it just for it to be broken. How could they expect her to forgive when when she felt so hurt?? heck she did not even know why she felt so hurt.. Well when she thought about it was the rejected by her own mother... And she still did not have the reason why.. Yes when she looked into her Father's eyes she saw that they held love... Like the Mother who raised her. Slowly Cora looked over at Bernard, her expression softening though her eyes where still guarded.

She was about to say something but then Isa fainted. Forgetting she was hurt Cora did try to get up to help her but winced as pain ran through her body. Cora let a groan escape her. Ugh how could she had forgotten.. With not much she could do she looked over at Isa with a sad expression. Though s thought came to mind. With Isa passed out she could get her back to Hai. Cora looked at her Mother, " Mom, its my fault Isa fainted... I let my emotions get away with me.. Can... Can you please take her back to Haii? I.. I want to talk to Elayne and Mr. Laurent alone.." Yeah she was a long way from calling Bernard Dad. Though who knows over time she may call him that.
Felicia nodded and stood she then went over to the fainted pokemon and picked her up gently. Without saying a word she left the room looked around for a nurse that could help her find Hai.

[Jay]

Felis bit his bottom lip as Kitty cried, and it was all he could do to keep himself from crying right there with her. He could barely understand what she was saying, but her tone was enough. Scrunching up his face, he exhaled and looked towards Jae unsure of what to do. He didn't know what to do. He...he....just didn't....

Isa didn't regain consciousness even at being picked up shortly after being liked. A part of her had escaped the world and preferred to be away from it at the moment, though of course the psychic would never admit that. Meanwhile, Miranda had gotten caught up in some other expenditure but caught sight of Felicia car-- What happened....? There... wasn't a pokemon battle in the hospital with everything going on, was there? Oh God no. "What...?" she started but didn't quite finish her question.

Meanwhile, Haiiro had taken up staring at the ceiling and...counting the dots on it. Why he hadn't just turned on the tv was anyone's guess, but he hadn't.

[Maid Melody]

Jalicia froze when she heard what Kitty said, her face paling considerably. What... what had happened to Ryan... he-... Despite Jalicia's attempts at remaining calm and positive for Kitty the news about Ryan was too much. Wrapping an arm as best she could around Kitty, Jalicia pulled the young girl as close as her postion and the bed would allow. Tears ran down her cheeks as she continued to hold Kitty...Jalicia had no words, no explanation for why this happened. Why anybody would purposely hurt so many people was beyond her..."Shhhh...,"Jalicia whispered,"We'll get through this angel...,"she managed before tears choked off her words completely.

Lance looked on as Jalicia attempted to comfort Kitty and sighed, wishing he didn't have to be the bearer of bad news. "There's more...,"the Gallade spoke softly in Felis' and Jalicia's minds. He would surely have informed Kitty as well but as it was the girl was upset enough, there was no need to cause further pain right now,"I apologize but...I'm afraid I must inform you that Dedrick is the only one who survived the explosion. The others....."he continued before trailing off, not seeing the need to continue when it would only cause more pain.

Jalicia couldn't breathe.......her family......all of them......was...gone... No, that was wrong...she still had Dedrick but... A strangled cry left Jalicia as she tried desperately to maintain at least some control. She... had to be strong for Kitty but..... she couldn't..... not after this. Realizing the futility of attempting to appear happy Jalicia finally broke down, sobbing as she all but clung to Kitty.

Lance closed his eyes upon seeing Jalicia's reaction to the news. There was...really nothing that he could say in this situation... The Gallade wished that the circumstances were different but for the time being he would remain here and see if he was needed further.

Bernard did not miss the change in Cora's features no matter how slight. It gave him hope that perhaps he would be able to repair the damage Madelyn had done to their daughter. When Cora attempted to sit up, Bernard instinctively put a hand on her shoulder to keep her from doing so,"Calm yourself...I don't want to see you hurt anymore,"he said in a soft, gentle voice. Hearing Cora's request, Bernard looked at Felicia and nodded at her as she left the room before looking back at Cora,"What is it you wish to speak to us about?"he asked calmly after Felicia had left.

Elayne looked back at Cora and shook her head,"No, it wasn't your fault entirely. If anything it was probably all of us, there's no need to blame yourself Cora,"she said in a quiet voice before Felicia left the room. Blinking upon hearing that Cora wanted to speak to Dad and her alone, Elayne wondered what this could be about. She had been about to voice this thought when Bernard beat her to it and nodded before waiting to see what Cora had to say.

Cora said nothing for a few minutes as she collected her thoughts. She then looked over at Elayne, Who she felt friendship toward even if she did not know her all that well. She then looked at Bernard, even though she know knew that he was the one sending those letters felt nothing towards. He was nothing but a stranger who she was told was her Father... Eh... Even the words "Father, "dad" seemed so alien to Cora. She never had a Father growing up. It was just her and Felicia.. And her Mother never bothered to date ether, Cora guessed that was her fault. Cora closed her eyes and sighed before opening them again. " To tell the truth I don't know... I just wanted to be alone with you guys for a little while.. This may be the last time I see you both for a while." Cora said looking at Elayne first then at Bernard.

After another moment of thinking something came to mind. " I guess there is something.... Tell me about your self Mr. Laurent. Even with all those letters to sent me you still nothing but a stranger to me. Elayne, you to. We have met at times but I still know nothing about you. And in turn I can tell you both things about my self. I don't know if it will help but would be nice to know who my..... Family is." Cora felt awkward saying the word family and all the family she has ever known has been Felicia. And her little brother Rex, whom she has not seen for the last year..


Felicia waited and looked at Miranda when she came up looking worried about the pokemon she had in her arms. Felicia smiled and shook her head. " Nothing happened dear, There was just much emotion in the room and the poor dear couldn't handle it. I was asked to return her to her trainer. I think his name is Haii? Do you know where he is?" Felicia asked the nurse.

[Jay]

The gag reflect that suddenly hit Feliciano was unexpected, but a sickening feeling persisted in him. All he could do was stand there for a few seconds with his hand clasped over his mouth and the blood draining from his face. All these people... He hadn't been hurt, and his immediate family had not been hurt, but his people had. These were Eran people, even if they or their parents had come from outside, they were Eran to him at that moment. They'd been hurt, and there was nothing, absolutely nothing he could do.

..........Except seek revenge. Sighing, he slowly removed his hand from his mouth and calmed, forcing himself to stay calm. "I'm sorry..." he offered to Jalicia, and possibly Kitty as he appeared to be looking at both of them. It was his fault for not being an adequate Duke... for not sensing something or stopping it somehow. "Miss... Jalicia.. if there is anything I can do...please let me know," It wasn't a sympathy card, and it wasn't an empty promise. This was Ryan... and Kitty's friend. Though he wanted to snag up all the refugees and take them home, that wasn't plausible... He could do other things, though.... but in this circumstance, he wanted... to do something more and something right then and there...

Haii....Haiiro. Ah, right. Miranda slowly nodded, her fingers reaching up to the back of her neck but freezing in mid gesture. "Right... this way, then..." she said making a hand motion before leading her way to Haiiro's room. Meanwhile, the dark haired man slowly turned his sights downwards as the sound of a door opening hit his ears. "Elayne?" Nope. It wasn't.....

Elayne listened as Cora spoke and smiled...it had been a while since they really had a chance to talk hadn't it. When Cora went on about how they may not see each other for a while, Elayne had to fight the urge to roll her eyes. Heh...not if she could help it, mmmm perhaps if nothing else Cora could share Elayne's room. That way Elayne could be sure that Cora was taking care of herself for one and she'd finally get the chance to learn more about her sister. As for what Cora wanted to talk about Elayne didn't have the foggiest idea where to begin. All the more reason to talk to Felis later heh, that way she'd have a better chance to talk and tell her about everything."What would you like to know? I think I told you something about myself before...granted that was a while back but still,"Elayne asked after a moment smiling good-naturedly at Cora.

Bernard was thinking along the same lines as Elayne, he truly didn't know where to begin as far as informing Cora about himself went. He certainly knew that the likelihood of being able to see Cora again for a while was slim... Not to mention that he had left a near mountain of paperwork at home in order to see Cora today...something that would only increase due to the day's events. Mentally sighing, Bernard wondered how he was going to be able to make it through the next few days... Hearing Cora address him so formally cut Bernard but he smiled lightly and held up a hand,"Please...at the very least call me Bernard. Being addressed as 'Mr. Laurent' reminds me the meetings I am required to attend as a count,"he replied in a courteous voice before listening to what else Cora had to say. Well, he could certainly answer the question regarding who she was related to at the very least..."As for the question of your family you already know of your immediate family; Elayne, myself, and Madelyn your mother. As for who else you may be related to, your mother is Ada Rossi's sister. That makes you the duke's cousin if you are not already aware of that. I on the other hand am distantly related to Nolan, of course you must know this is not something I inform everyone due to how he is viewed currently. As for you wanting to know more about me... What more would you like to know? I apologize but I truly do not know where to begin,"Bernard replied in a calm, courteous voice before waiting to see what Cora had to say to what he had revealed.

The harsh reality of all she had lost was hitting Jalicia rather hard. She had not only lost her home but everyone she cared about had gotten hurt. Jalicia tried to tell herself that there was nothing she could have done but...maybe if she had known Ryan had come to her house he wouldn't- have... If only her family hadn't decided to try and visit her that day.... The 'if only's' and 'what ifs' filled Jalicia's mind as she tried to make sense of what she had just been told. They-...they couldn't be gone, she had just seen them the other day and-... There was no reason for the Gallade to lie...especially about something like this. Jalicia didn't know who the Gallade belonged to but perhaps considering his knowledge of what had happened to her family maybe he had been the one that had helped Dedrick. Crying certainly wasn't going to solve anything...it wouldn't change what happened... They were still gone and...nothing could bring them back...

A sense of hopelessness and despair pervaded Jalicia as she thought more about what she'd just been told. Slowly loosening her grip on Kitty, Jalicia's sobs grew quieter until she stopped altogether. She just felt...numb... Part of her wanted to give up entirely and just crawl into a hole and stay there... Kitty needed her though...and Dedrick... she couldn't just leave them behind, not after hearing Ryan's condition. "C'mon up here angel,"[/size]Jalicia whispered to Kitty, her voice sounding near monotone even as she attempted to help the girl onto her bed. After Kitty was situated Jalicia wrapped her arms around the girl only just realizing that Felis was speaking. Looking at the man with dull, almost lifeless eyes Jalicia attempted a smile,"Thank you...,"she replied quietly before falling silent.

Meanwhile Dedrick stirred and slowly sat up, rubbing his eyes slowly. "...Mommy...?"[/size]he murmured, still not fully aware of his surroundings. After a few moments Dedrick seemed to realize where he was and froze, tightening his grip on the his blanket as he stared blindly at the wall in front of him. ...that was right... Mommy....everyone was....gone..........

Cora looked at Bernard when he asked her to at least call her by his first name. Cora blinked and thought about it, she the slowly gave a nod. Eh what would it hurt by calling him Bernard? Cora then listened as Bernard started to talk about his family. When her so called mother's name came up Cora's face darkened. So that's her name... She would make sure to remember that... Cora then nodded when Bernard said Felis was her cousin. But as he went on about Nolan.... Her eyes grew wide and her face grew even darker. What..... She..... She is related to.... To that loser!!! Ugh the news about her family just kept getting better and better!!! Now she was not sure she wanted to know more... After a moment Cora calmed her self down and she gave a weak smile. If she where not so weak right now she would have been screaming at this news.... So for now all she could do was keep it in till she could scream about it.

When Bernard asked if there was anything she would like to know about him, Cora looked at him wearily. After hearing the Nolan bomb shell she was not sure if she wanted to hear more about him..... But she could not hold that ageist him... One could not choose their family... " Well... I guess you could start off with things you like... You know the things you like to do when your not being over worked and have some free time." Cora said and was doing her best to keep her voice normal as she could. She then looked over at Elayne, " I know about your dreams... But what do you like to do?" Cora asked the same question as she did with Bernard.


Felicia smiled and nodded, she then followed the nurse to Haii's room. When they got there Felicia thanked the nurse and walked in. And found herself blinking when a young man in the room said Elayne's name. Felicia just smiled and shook her head, " Sorry I'm not the one you where hoping for.. But I did bring a friend with me." Felicia said as she walked in with Isa in her arms. " Please don't worry, Isa is fine. There was just so much emotion in Cora's room that she could not handle it. So when she passed out Cora asked me to bring her to you. From what I hear she was a little reluctant to leave Cora's side." Felicia said with a little laughter in her voice. " Oh forgive me, rambling on and I have not introduced my self. I'm Felicia, Cora's mother it is very nice to meet you." Felicia said with a warm hearted smile.

[Jay]

Jalicia's words were somber enough to make Felis feel worse at that moment, and he ended up frowning quietly to himself but nodded. Kitty's words cut him more, and he physically flinched. However, it gave him an opportunity to say what was on his mind, if not exactly the way he wanted to introduce it.... "Kitty, if you want, you, Ryan, and Jalicia could come live with me for a while..." he said managing to gain some projection to his words.

The thanks was met by a nod, and once more Miranda went to work. Meanwhile, Dedirck's sudden motion caught Haiiro's profiterole vision. Looking sideways, he realized what had been said. However, his attention was pulled away again by Felicia's words. His---!!! Haiiro sat up in bed and probably would have gotten straight out if he had the energy. "Isa-.." However, Felicia's next comment caused him to relax if only for a moment. After a moment, he nodded slowly and reached into his--- fuck, he didn't have pockets or his pokeballs. Blue eyes rushed to the table where they were at. Reaching his good arm up, he made to point at them. "Return her to the one with the green dot," he stated.

As Felicia introduced herself, Haiiro stopped again and had to fight off a negative feeling that generalized around 'parents'. He never had any, and with all that he and Elayne had been through.... "Haiiro," he stated quietly before ending up looking towards Dedrick instead of Felicia wondering if the boy would be alright...What no of course he wasn't changing the subject to fit his wants.

[Maid Melody]

Bernard watched Cora's reactions to the news about her family with a discerning eye. It certainly appeared that Cora didn't approve of being related to Nolan but Bernard certainly couldn't help who he was related to anymore than he could stop the sun from shining. At the question Cora posed Bernard smiled,"Ah yes...well I love to read and I play the piano occassionally in my spare time. I'm sure Elayne gets her love of books from me,"Bernard began before he heard Elayne laugh. Shaking his head, Bernard chuckled softly,"There's very little else I am able to find time to do but I do enjoy spending time with my Pokemon when I am able to,"he replied before smiling at Cora,"Is there anything else you wish to know?"

Elayne listened as her dad spoke to Cora and couldn't help but laugh when he said that she'd gotten her love of books from him. That was partially true...she really had just wanted to get away from being forced to participate in lessons about being a 'proper noble' and nobody cared to look in the public library. When it seemed her dad had finished speaking Elayne smirked,"Well just as Dad said I like to read and play some piano,"she began only to be on the receiving end of a rather surprised look from Bernard,"Hey don't give me that, when I'm not being forced to play it's actually quite fun...and you know that's what happened,"Elayne continued, rolling her eyes as Bernard chuckled. "Anyway, I also love to draw and grow herbs which I've been able to do only recently. I've gotten good at recognizing wild herbs and such out of necessity more or less but it's also relaxing and quite enjoyable. I also love watching my Pokemon grow...it's amazing how quickly they learn even when they've just hatched,"Elayne said in a cheerful voice. Oh she could go on about exactly what she loved about each and everyone of her Pokemon but that would take hours heh...

Jalicia closed her eyes at Kitty's words and held her closer...she couldn't answer any of those questions... Humming a gentle melody that she remembered her mother used to sing when she was scared Jalicia tried her best to comfort Kitty. Jalicia was so focused on Kitty that she hadn't seen Felis' reaction to the girl's words. When Felis began to speak Jalicia looked up at him and managed a small smile,"Thankya kindly Felis...I can't tellya how much that means to us..."she replied quietly before looking down at Kitty,"Ya hear that angel, it'll be all right..." Liar...nothing will ever be all right and you know it... Pushing the thought aside Jalicia resumed her humming, gently rocking Kitty back and forth as she did so.

Lance looked at the three people in front of him and bowed,"If you'll excuse me I must return to the boy to inform him I have found his sister,"the Gallade projected to everyone in the room before leaving the room to go find Dedrick once again.

Dedrick stared at the wall blindly for another moment before laying back down and burying his head in his pillow. ".....mommy......"[/size]Dedrick whimpered before his small frame began to shake with sobs. It hurt...everywhere hurt and there was nothing he could do about it...

Cora took in the words Bernard and Elayne said, though the teasing they did between each other made Cora feel awkward. They had a strong bond with each other.. Something she was yet to form with them.. But would she ever form a strong bond with the family she had never known? Cora looked down as she thought about this... In many ways she was a outsider to their world.. Even if they where related by blood. When they where done talking all Cora could do was offer a weak smile, though she did not look up at them. It was her turn now but she had no idea where to start. And at Bernard's question Cora shook her head slowly, she had no idea what to ask next. Tears started to form in her eyes and she tried to fight them back. Dammit, stop crying... Cora thought to her self. But with all she had been though, and was feeling. The tears where not listening, and started to over flow.


Felicia nodded when Haii said to return Isa to the pokeball with the green dot. She walked over and somehow picked up the pokeball and returned Isa back to her ball. She then set it down and looked over at Haii again but her eyes quickly zeroed in on a young boy who was also in the room. A worried look came to her feachers. Had this young boy been caught in the bombings to?? Without hesitation Felicia walked over to the young boy. When she was at his bedside she looked at him as if he where her own child. " Oh you poor dear.." Was all Felicia could say before tears started to form in her own eyes. She then reached out and wrapped her arms around Dedrick. It was all she could do... But she hoped it would help the young boy just little.
