What the ... OK that was just odd ... . Hearing Lyall start to sing and completely butchering the tune it took Carly a moment to remember that she was supposed to be singing too. Her face flushed slightly as she realized that she'd been staring at Lyall like an idiot this entire time and turned back to the words on the screen. Carly waited a few moments before starting to sing along with Lyall, her voice carrying a slight country twang that didn't really suit the song but hey, at least she was getting the melody right. A few moment's later, her face turned crimson as Iris pointed out her laugh. On second thought, she might have needed a few more drinks after all.. She'd start getting ditsier, but at least in a less... "cute" way.. Before she could think more on this, about how she'd have to be careful not to take it too far, and before she could respond to Iris's other comment, she was suddenly distracted by the throaty wail cutting through the room; Alex cringed hard. "Holy fuck.." she hissed, rubbing a temple. ....And this was the guy she'd been borderline-stalking for over three years... 'x3;;;

Throughout the bar, several people had had similar reactions to the 'Wookie call', but follow-up varied. While a few people rolled their eyes and mildly booed and 'teased' Lyall to get off the stage (which was to say most of them really meant it, but were trying to tone it down considering he was their leader); others laughed; and others didn't seem all that bothered after the initial note (at least one guy seemed particularly focused on Carly, though..); and a few even cheered for various reasons.

Delilah, in particular, would have been as red as Alex had been earlier if her skin didn't help hide it. "...Oh gods...." Her ears actually hurt from how hard they burned, and she found herself shifting and shrinking back into the farthest-back of her corner. She was honestly fighting and urge to hide behind her hair, even. She was that embarrassed just to be in the same room as all this. Just... No. Stop. Please, stop. A small whimper escaped her, and she knew she really didn't have much choice to grit and bear it...

On the other hand, as the song went on, Alex found herself slowly dying for a different reason. Something about.. just.. Everything. How into it Lyall was, Carly's twangy tone, all of it. It was fucking hysterical to her, and tears started to well as she fought to keep her laugh silent. Suddenly remembering Iris's question, Alex's attention snapped back to her... partially anyway. "I g--" Nope she couldn't answer, she was still too busy laughing. Drawing in a deep breath, she managed "If I can breathe that long," before returning to her mostly-silent giggle fit.

Though...she really couldn't blame anyone for that. It was just....well Iris was pretty sure she heard her ears screaming "CUT US OFF, CUT US OFF" but that coulda been her hearing things. Then, she looked on stage at Lyall and Carly, and... For one reason or another, Iris lost it. The horrible wailing mixed with Carly's twang just made her day. Morning. Night. Whatever. Iris belted out a long, hearty laugh , tears streaming down her face. "Ohgod....I...." Whatever she was about to say mixed into more laughter as she moved to lean on Alex in her hysterical fit of cackling. [/scrolly]

At some point, he actually caught the tone and the beat well enough to where he could at least follow the music. However, his voice couldn't raise the octave he kept trying to shove it up to, and thus, every few notes sounded like squeaks or dying animal sounds. By the end of the song, Lyall finally came back to full reality and was oddly proud of himself beaming with a cheesy expression that was a failed attempt at modesty. What no of course they were laughing with him, and all were obviously joking with their words, obviously. [/scrolly]

She had forgotten how much fun it was to sing but then Carly was a little self-concious about her voice. Yes she liked to sing but neither was she going to walk down the street singing just because she felt like it. Carly's singing usually consisted of singing along with her favorite songs in her room when nobody else was home. When the song finished Carly realized that people were laughing and giggled nervously. She had managed to tune out Lyall's voice for the most part thus saving her ears from torture but seeing him having so much fun was worth it. "So who's next~?"Carly chimed before offering the microphone to whoever would take it.[/scrolly]

"I'll give it a shot.." she purred, instantly receiving a few cheers. Likely, much of this could be attributed to her killer body, tight leather apparel, and wicked grin; her short, spiked hair was more polarized, but probably helped the appeal for some.

... Of course, most people here also knew Glaive was a soccer mom with three kids between the ages of eight and twelve, who were currently probably with a grandparent, since Glaive's husband (a viking-looking man) worked out at the eastern fortress and wasn't home much this time of year. She was still hot, right?

At any rate, she requested Linkin Park's What I've Done, and began doing surprisingly well considering it was originally a male song. Some parts were definitely better than others, but it was all right.

Delilah only felt a little better as a result. Uogh, if she'd know there would be karaoke she'd have never asked to stay. Something about... singing... in general.. It irked her so badly. She took this time to finish off what was left in her glass.

Meanwhile, Alex had nearly fallen off her chair when Iris leaned on her, but after catching herself she didn't mind it, and might have even openly accepted it. Now, as Glaive started up, 'Aura' was catching 'his' breath, and motioned for 'Lance' and.... Carly.. to come over. (Wow that really broke the whole thing they really needed to name her.) "Ly you are terribly fucking awesome," she called, still chuckling a bit. ...When had she taken up calling him Ly? ...Fuck, she was starting to copy Iris.

Like Alex...wait what? Heh... "I agree," she said after Alex spoke, then looked at her 'brother.' "Since when did you call him Ly?" she teased lightly. "Guess I'm rubbing off on ya, hrm~?" "Damn that was fun," he laughed a little more before realizing some time in between this, he had lost his drink. Ah well, there were plenty of other glasses. "Carleh was damn awesome herself," he chuckled before elbowing Carly a little. Meanwhile, Alexis who had quite literally disappeared behind the bar some time during the song fighting down the embarrassment that was threatening to kill her, slowly came back out again offering a weak smile. Her face was beat red but cooling quickly enough. "You two were so silly..." she said mounting the courage to actually speak. It was only after her words that Lyall actually noticed Alexis had appeared. "Oh heya Lexi," he grinned. [/scrolly]

Laughing softly Carly nodded before hearing Lyall,"Thanks, I was expecting another version of Friday Night but hey I winged it~,"Carly replied before giving a small squeak when Lyall elbowed her and lightly punched him back. When Lexi came up Carly laughed and hugged her,"Nice to seeya too Lexi~,"Carly chimed,"The stuff is in the back by the way,"she whispered before letting Lexi go and turning to Alex. "Hey ya wanna do a song with me later Alex? It'd be fun and I haven't really had the chance to sing for anything other than the walls of my bedroom for a while~,"Carly asked in a cheerful voice.[/scrolly]

At any rate, she tried to ignore it; obviously Iris was right and it was only because she was picking up other people's habits and there was nothing else to be read into it to make it be worthy of replying to at all.

When Lyall's blood sister popped up, she glanced over with a "Hey Lexi." As often happened, she had a certain urge to call her 'Lex', but Alex always made a point to always call her only Lexi or Alexis, simply because.. Well, other shortenings seemed confusing. x3 Alex....is.... and yeah. She was only glad the girl's name wasn't Alexandra, hehehe.

When Carly asked her question, Alex flatlined for some time before laughing uncomfortably. "Nah.. You don't want me ta sing..." She tried to force a grin.

In her corner, Delilah was caught at a crossroads. ...Several, actually. For one, she'd prefer to avoid everyone until they wore out the whole karaoke fiasco, but she really didn't want to sit alone hiding in a corner if it went on all night. For another.... she needed a refill. ... Dammit.

Sighing, she decided she definitely wasn't going to sit alone and without a drink, and forced herself up, heading over to fill her glass and trying to avoid too much eye contact along the way. It was probably a longshot, but if Lyall happened to notice her and asked what she thought of his... "performance".. she thought she just might die.

He was oddly comfy...She looked around at all the people, giving Lexi a wave, then snorting at Alex's reply to Carly's question. "I might join ya, Carly," she volunteered, looking at the girl. "If you don't mind. Though I'll have you know I'm no Holly Marxx." Iris's eyes then glanced around some more, and she realized...she wanted one more drink. "Well, Alex...I'd hate to leave the comfort of your shoulder, but...I'll be back." Getting up, she moved over to the bar--almost falling in the process-- and fixed another drink before sitting next to Alex again, sipping it lightly. Though she made a point to avoid Lilah, who had also moved for another, in the process... [/scrolly]

Though Alexis was a little surprised, Carly's hug was received easily enough, and Alexis smiled a little more than before at the whisper. That was good~ They could go down and get that in a bit then, and then it'd be an official party!The next call caused light blue eyes to move sideways to Alex, and another smile was offered easily enough. "Hey Alex. How are you?" Iris's wave was also returned with a light wave as Lexi fumbled just a little to do her best to address everyone.

Lyall, meanwhile, chuckled a bit to himself. "Took ya long enough, Lexi..." he said a bit more bluntly than intended causing the youngest sister to fidget a little before looking sideways at him and sighing. She really wished she could have taken off work, but it just hadn't worked out. Oh well, at least she had managed to get him something for his birthday - though that was for later. "Yeah, I'm here now though," she perked up. Lyall grinned and nodded before turning his head just in time to see Delilah. "Hey Lilah, ya havin' fun yet?" Lyall asked with a cheesy expression.

She hadn't minded so much during the gigglefit, but that had been getting just a little bit uncomfortable. For just a moment, a thought occurred, but it was so laughable that it was dismissed instantly.

At Carly's question, she rubbed the back of her head and tried to maintain her grin. "Eh.. I wouldn't say bad, just.." ...Then a thought hit her, and that grin became legitimate.. and a little bit mischievous. Not to steal Iris's thunder, but they could both sing, right? Preferably with Iris taking Carly and Alex being alone. "Ya know, why not. If I'm gonna embarrass myself I may's well do it hard, eh? Gimme a terrible song." Oh she was going to have fun.

Lilah cringed slightly as Lyall called her name, stopping just before Iris cut in front of her, apparently ignoring her as hard as Lilah had been trying to ignore everyone else... or harder, probably, considering.. she was apparently doing a pretty bad job at it herself. All the same, she just took a moment to compose herself before smiling slyly at him. "Eh~ Give me about three more glasses and I will be." She chuckled deeply. By this time, Iris had moved again, so Lilah resumed her path and filled her glass, taking a drink right away.

....Mm. Was this actually getting sweeter or was she just more grateful for it at the moment? ....She supposed it wouldn't hurt to stand here just a moment so she could drink a bit more and then top her glass off before leaving..

In the meantime, Glaive had finished her song, and the Maces decided to take their turn, stepping up to sing Sonny and Cher's "I Got You Babe". Interestingly enough, for all Todd's size and intimidating looks, his voice was actually a pretty gentle tenor, and while it far from matched the original he kind of rocked the part for most of it. Pepper was a little more shaky, but not too bad.

...Lilah, of course, was rather relieved at someone decent stepping up.. while at the same time a little disappointed to realize Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome was apparently taken. Ah well. This night was really more about hanging out and trying to have fun than getting laid, anyway, even if she'd rarely if ever mind the added bonus.

"Whatcha think of Sweet Child o' Mine, by Guns 'N Roses?" she asked finally. "I don't know why, but I think I'm feelin' that one." She gave a small shrug, then looked between the two again. "Unless you two'd rather sing together, or something. All I know is I said I'm doing it, so I may as well go for it regardless." [/scrolly]

Blinking at being ignored, Alexis just shrugged it off and shook her head a little. Looking towards Lyall, the girl noticed Delilah, a face that she wasn't quite familiar with. Lyall, meanwhile, had his attention still on Lilah. "Heh, sounds good," he replied before moving to refill his own drink after Delilah. Looking back, it was only then that he realized Alexis was still looking at him -or rather Lilah now. "Oh yeah, Delilah, this is Alexis," he said making a hand gesture. "Lexi, this is Lilah," he grinned with a cheesy expression. He honestly wasn't sure if he had introduced them before, so why not do it again if he had. Alexis smiled a little and brushed a few stray hairs away absentmindedly. "Hi," she offered a bit tentatively.

Hearing Iris' song choice Carly stared at the woman rather blankly for a moment... what was that even... oh, that one song with the-... right. "Yeah I don't know that song very well, and I think it'd be fun to sing with Alex~. Ya know ... after he's done his song... we could still sing together if ya really want ta. Well, she seemed a bit nicer than Carly so f--.... Oh dear gods she was Ava wasn't she. A frown flashed for just a moment before the thought that had caused it was expelled. Violently. She'd done quite enough thinking of him recently; she wasn't about to start spreading it to even more shit now. A long swig from her glass-- amounting to about a third of it-- would hopefully help keep her mind on the present (if only by helping cloud the past).

Shifting effortlessly back into her softer look as the glass came back down, she offered a slightly delayed, "I think I might have seen you around once or twice, but it's a pleasure to officially meet you." The introductions, while probably insignificant in the long run, were actually a decent change of pace. Of course, they'd see whether or not Lexi still seemed so nice once she got a little better glimpse of Lilah, but for the moment, things were kind of nice.

Meanwhile, Alex just grinned. Man, she was so easy to bait. As Iris returned, she listened intently before shaking her head at Carly. "Uh-uh. I've got a better idea." Glancing at Iris, then back to Carly, she explained, "Iris wants to sing a guy song. You want me to sing a girl song. ...." She leered sideways, teasingly muttering while he was hopefully distracted by the other girls, "We heard. Lyall sing a girl song.."

She gave a slight chuckle, and her focus returned to Carly. "How about I pick a guy song for you, too.. and we see who can do the best.. or worst?" She cracked a grin again and winked at the last word. "Maybe make it interesting? Make a small pot before we go on and best singer wins?" She considered asking the other three in their current little group about joining, but figured she could do that, if someone didn't beat her to it, after she saw if Carly and Iris both agreed. In the meantime, she finally remembered she'd been needing a refill herself shifted toward the cask, reaching over the counter next to people rather than going around them to avoid both getting in anyone's way and getting too far from the girls while they considered her offer; to emphasize the latter, she kept an eye over her shoulder most of the time, save when she needed to see her glass to actually fill it.

The frown escaped Lyall's notice, for his head had turned to Alexis for a few seconds, yet it didn't escape Lexi. Er...what... did I do wrong? she mentally sweat dropped, but in another blink, the expression was gone causing Alexis to wonder if it had even been there. I'm.. I'm just seeing things.. Lexi mentally reassured herself before reaching up and rubbing an index finger on her forehead for a few seconds. She'd been working too hard, or something... heh. As Delilah spoke, Alexis perked up again. "Nice to meet you too," she replied rather quickly, a slight nervous color coming to her cheeks. Where she could technically be confident around family and some of the knights whom she saw as extensions of family, she had to fight down the small skittish feeling that came with actually meeting strangers. Of course work was different, somehow. She didn't have to interact for long periods of time with the same people at work, and they didn't have time to judge her, right? But this was one of Lyally's friends and..just.... yeah.... "You're............. really pretty..."
