Things Left Unsaid (Jay/Cora)

[Jay]

Shortly after, a doctor walked back into the room holding two black sheets of film paper and ended up holding both up to the light as though to give Haiiro himself a better view of what was going on. "See most of your arm there seems to have been protected by the cast, but the clavicle has a hairline fracture while the scapula is bruised rather badly though. Now if you look here, the other end of the clavicle itself is starting to slide because of shoulder movements and pressure from the-" The doctor stopped upon seeing the rather vicious look that was reflecting in Haiiro's eyes. "It's a clean fracture, really...it'll cause you pain for a while, especially if you were trying to use that arm, but if left alone and taken care of, it will be fine." Haiiro slowly gave a nod only to flinch briefly as his shoulder decided that wasn't such a good idea.

Felis's lips pressed together as Elayne replied, and her apology actually set something terrible in the pit of his stomach. "It'sallrightElayne..." the blonde replied quickly shaking his head a bit despite the sheer look of anguish that was reflected on his cheeks. Despite his wills against it, those silly drops of liquid found their way downwards and ended up hitting the sheets. It...This.... "I'm sorry, Elayne....I should have been there...I...." Felis's eyes flashed upwards again staring at the small girl in this almost gigantic bed.

Jayme couldn't quite tell that Elayne's eye had shifted over to him, but the recognition of his own voice came rather quickly. Stepping inside, he gave a shaky nod and ended up stopping at the foot of Elayne's bed. A weak sort of smile came to his features though they remained rather grave in all aspects. "Yeah...it's me..." Jayme mumbled weakly trying to surprise his own urge to cry. It wasn't going to do any good, but why couldn't he stop these feelings that were rushing over him?

After a little while the doctors where done putting the new cast on Cora's leg. They then helped her back onto her wheelchair. At fist she was going to wheel off on her own but a nurse stopped her and said she would wheel her back. Cora protested but gave in and let the nurse wheel her back to the waiting room. While Cora grumbled all the while. The day had started out so good and now it was just a mess!! She hoped it would not get any worse.. Cora then went through the double doors that led to the waiting room and the nurse put Cora near the others and left again. Cora looked at Uncle Lance, Justice and Miguel but said nothing... Not really in the talking mood at the moment.

Justice looked up when Cora came back into the room and nodded a head in greeting. Good, now she would be able to draw her better~ Justice then went back to her drawing that was almost done. Within a few minutes she was happy with her work and then signed it before flipping to a new page. She then looked at everyone in the room and started to draw them. First she started on Miguel, with him in a full Knights armor holding his trusty sword up in the air. After she got done with the outline of that she worked on Cora in a standing pose holding out a pokeball. With that outline done she looked over at Lance and started to draw him in a standing pose with his hands at his side. After that was done she then started to add detail and later she would add color.

The look of anguish on Felis' face hurt...especially when she saw a few tears spill onto the sheets. Thankfully Felis was on her right side and Elayne was able to move her hand and slowly, gently brush Felis' tears away. It was a simple gesture but Elayne wanted to help reassure this man that she was going to be all right...even if she wasn't quite sure herself at the moment. "It's ok Felis...don't blame yourself for this...it's not your fault,"Elayne replied quietly,"I...didn't think he would find me...and when he did-..."she continued only to break off as the memory resurfaced. Why was it that she could easily recall her most horrific memories and yet she couldn't recognize the faces of those she cared about...this wasn't fair... Hearing Jayme's response, Elayne's eyes once again shifted to him as he smiled weakly. The realization that she was hurting the ones she loved was too much for her... Silent tears streamed down Elayne's cheeks as she fell silent once again...this wasn't fair...she was hurting Felis and Jayme and...there was nothing she could do but hope it was only temporary. If it wasn't....Elayne didn't know what she was going to do... --- Miguel looked up when Cora was wheeled back into the room and nodded in her direction. There was a new cast on her leg now causing Miguel to frown slightly but judging by Cora's silence she wasn't going to talk about what had happened. Returning his attention to what Justice was drawing, Miguel smiled when she finished her drawing of the battle and started drawing him with his sword held high. Smiling slightly at the image Miguel remained silent and simply watched as Justice continued to draw, not wanting to interrupt her.[/scrolly]

[Jay]

The feeling of a hand on his face caused Felis to freeze, and after a moment, his hand reached up and set it over Elayne's. As she spoke, he had to fight the urge to keep crying. This was his fault though. If he had told her to stay home and wait for a bit, she would have been safe. She would have been at home... "That damn man," Felis swore feeling his own vocal chords cringe at his won words. "How could he do this..." Felis's eyes lowered, and for a few moments he was caught in his own emotions. This lasted only long enough for his eyes to raise again as he found Elayne crying. No that wasn't right either! Nothing was right and everything was a mess!

Jayme was at a loss for words. All he could do for a moment was stare before finding his own tears welling. A mix of anger and fear entrapped him, and all he could do was fight it back. "Elayne if I had been there...." Jayme started but was unable to continue before he found his fist slamming down on the metal foot of the bed making a clanging sound briefly.

Elsewhere, Haiiro was displeased but finally sighed looking away from the doctor. Though it seemed the doctor wanted to ask more, he stopped himself and just said a few more words before asking if he wanted to stay in a room for a bit or what exactly. Despite the pain in himself, Haiiro slowly stood up on his own and started towards the door causing the doctor to call after him quickly distressed at him actually walking. "Where are you going?" was the question asked. Haiiro's eyes flared back rather quickly. "To find my friend," he snapped harshly causing the doctor to stop giving Haiiro just enough time to get out.

Lance, meanwhile, sat quietly in the waiting room still mulling over his own thoughts even as Cora had come out again. Briefly blue eyes flashed sideways regarding the young woman before settling forwards again. It would have been better for me to have stayed at home... the former Duke reasoned out mentally sighing a bit at his own decision. It had been foolish to leave the castle as it was now. He would go back and work things from there... even if he had only been there for a few minutes. It had been foolish of him to come, sigh. Maybe he himself had let emotion rule him for a moment or more.

Standing up again, the old man looked sideways addressing both Sai and Isa now. "I'd like to request you take me back to the castle. There is not much I can do here," he stated crisply. Sai blinked startled though as she slowly looked up, Isa understood at least. She could feel Lance's mind as well as his worry even if she didn't know exact thoughts.

When Felis spoke again, Elayne closed her eyes briefly and breathed out quietly."He did it because I said I wasn't his..."Elayne replied quietly, her voice a near whisper as she looked at Felis again,"Because I tried to run away when he-..."she continued before breaking off and closed her eyes, fighting the memory as fresh tears rolled down her cheeks. Hearing Jayme speak again, Elayne looked over at him just as he hit the bed with his fist, making it jostle slightly. Closing her eyes briefly, Elayne took as deep a breath as she could manage now that the morphine seemed to be wearing off,"Jayme..."she began quietly,"It's all right..."she continued before cutting herself off, not quite sure what she could say to reassure Jayme.[/scrolly]

And with a flash of light, Lance was returned back to the castle again where he'd more or less maintain order there.

As Elayne began to speak, Felis's blood pressure dropped and rose violently again. That was no reason to do this! There was no reason that Elayne had to suffer like this! None what so ever! A quiet breath escaped from Felis, and somewhere in the back of his mind, that hateful side of Feliciano shoved Simeon in a box. Just like with the still unknown culprits of the bombings, Feliciano wasn't about to forgive Simeon no how ho way. "Elayne..." the blond whispered unable to find anything else to say.

Jayme's entire form was rigid, and despite the fact that he didn't have any idea what to say, he had plenty that he wanted to do. He wanted to fight, to bash something, to smash Simeon to pieces for hurting his friend. Again he had been unable to do anything, and again he was forced to feel helpless towards the people that he cared about. After a few seconds, the pink haired young man looked up again biting back a few tears. "No it's not alright, not at all," Jay replied back looking at Elayne with a cross between an angry and hurt expression. "The only reason I ever started training under Miguel was so that I could defend people and I couldn't even do anything!" Jayme's voice cracked briefly causing him to flinch and look away.

The sounds of feet in the hallway could be heard, and in an instant Jayme's head turned his eyes threatening to leer at anyone that came in the room- only to settle on Haiiro. "Elayne you're..." Haiiro stopped suddenly at a loss for words. Feliciano looked back over his shoulder staring at the man briefly. "Haiiro what did they say about your shoulder?" Haiiro didn't reply and instead started inwards.

Cora watched as Uncle Lance left and sighed. She then looked over at the doors and frowned. When was it going to be her turn to see Elayne?? " This is taking forever.. I want to See my sister..." Cora mumbled and looked over at Miguel then at Justice. Who was this girl? All Cora knew is that she helped in the battle before being taken here. " Hey, I would like to thank you for help in that battle. My name is Cora, whats your name by the way? Cora asked Justice. Justice blinked and looked up at Cora when she spoke to her. Cora so that's her name, Justice smiled at Cora before she answered. " My name is Justice, I'm Miggy sister it is nice to meet you Cora. And I'm gald I was able to help you." Justice said softly. Cora blinked when Justice said she was Miguel's sister. " Sister? You never said anything about having a sister Miguel." Cora said with a teasing smile.

She truly didn't know why Simeon had hurt but had come to the conclusion that he had simply because he could. As horrible as that sounded that was the only thing Elayne could think of... Simeon had been so angry when she'd stood up to him...why was that...Elayne didn't know and didn't want to think about it at that moment. Looking back over at Jayme as he spoke, Elayne listened, wishing there was something she could say. That had come out all wrong...Elayne knew it wasn't all right, nothing was...she couldn't remember the people she cared about and every breath reminded her just how much she was hurting. She didn't know what to tell Jayme and fell silent, closing her eyes until she heard another voice. Opening her eyes, Elayne hoped that she would be able to recognize whoever had walked into the room. She wasn't able to though and Haiiro was met with a look of confusion until Felis looked over at him and said his name. Haiiro...he had been the first one that had come after Elly...how could she have forgotten... A look of confused hurt flashed across Elayne's features; it felt as if someone had taken a knife and driven it right through her heart... It just...hurt...how could she forget Haii's face...or anyone's face for that matter, after all they'd been through. Tears drifted down Elayne's cheeks once again when the question Felis had asked registered. Not only was she incapable of recognizing these people but Haii had gotten hurt..."Haii...?"Elayne whispered, her voice sounding hurt and uncertain, wishing for all the world that she could recognize him. --- Miguel watched as Lance left and made a mental note to inform Felis when he returned before Cora spoke up. Looking over at her, Miguel nodded,"That is understandable but unfortunately we must wait until the others get back,"he replied calmly before falling silent as Cora and Justice talked. At the tease, Miguel simply chuckled softly and smiled,"And you never asked,"came the return tease.[/scrolly]

[Jay]

A sharp breath was taken from Jayme, and even as Haiiro entered, the pink haired young man turned to leave and quickly started out. He couldn't stay there. He felt too angry- too hurt. For a brief moment, Jayme and Haiiro passed one another, but it looked on all sides as though neither one had even noticed the other was there as Jayme made his way out of the room and Haiiro came to the end of the bed. Haiiro's vision remained on Elayne solely even though a part of him was aware of how quickly Jayme had left. However, as Elayne spoke his name, despite how quiet it was, Haiiro caught the hint of question in it and stopped suddenly.

"J-Jayme!" Feliciano called as Jay all but stormed out, and for a few seconds, the blonde reached back to try and reach the young man only to find he was already gone. For a few seconds, Felis was at a loss for words before he realized that Haiiro was now standing awkwardly in the room there. "Ah...uhm...Haii..." Felis started, but Haiiro's eyes didn't waver from Elayne searching for something though he himself didn't know what, exactly.

Jayme, meanwhile, walked fast down the hallway fighting back angry tears as he did so. His fingers balled themselves up into fists, and it was all he could do not to punch something anything within his arm range. As the double doors that went back into the lobby came into sight, Jayme stepped forwards and shoved them both open before taking a sharp step and walking passed the reception glass and towards the exit. He didn't even make to acknowledge anyone that was still in the lobby.

Cora could not help but laugh, yeah true she never did but then again she did not know the knight very well at all now that she thought about it.. " yeah I guess your right. And then again we don't get the chance to hang out that often.. We should try to find the time to talk Miguel." Cora said with a smile, then the next thing she knew a angry looking Jayme came storming out past them and left. Cora looked startled as she watched him leave. " What the heck??" Cora said in shock but made no move to go after the young man.


Justice smiled weakly, it was kinda awkward that Justice knew of the people in the castle but none of them knew about her.. Well besides Cora it seemed so far anyway.. Justice put her drawing away along with her other things and was going to start talking when Jayme suddenly came storming in and out of the lobby. On instinct Justice stood up and then went after him. Something was wrong and she had to see if she could help. Justice then ran towards the doors Jayme was heading and called out. " Wait!!" she cried and hoped Jayme would stop.

It was hard to focus however and what she had said had been all wrong. The man at the foot of her bed stopped when she'd said Haii's name...but Elayne still wasn't certain if the man was Haiiro. Her eyes lied to her, but even knowing this it was hard not to believe what she saw, a stranger that she had no memory of meeting before in her life. Was this how it was going to be now...would she have to live with not being able to tell friends from strangers...? Elayne didn't want to believe it, didn't want to admit that it might be a possibility but she hadn't been able to recognize Felis even...or Jayme... It just wasn't fair...she was hurting them because of this...because of what Simeon had done to her...and there was nothing Elayne could do to stop it. The man she assumed was Haiiro never stopped watching her and Elayne didn't take her eyes off him. She was searching for some form of acknowledgement, some way that she would be able to recognize him but none came... Elayne was dreading having to ask again if the man at the foot of her bed was Haiiro when Felis said the man's name again. So this was Haii...well at least she didn't have to ask... Elayne remembered all too well the look on Felis' face when she had asked him who he was...she didn't want to repeat that again...not if she could help it. "Haii..."Elayne repeated quietly, holding her hand out to him even as she continued to look at him. Maybe her eyes could be tricked but perhaps her other senses would remember...she could still tell voices apart rather easily at least, maybe this wouldn't be so bad...perhaps she could learn to live with it... --- Miguel smiled at Cora's laugh and nodded at her suggestion,"I would like that,"he replied kindly before Jayme suddenly burst through the doors. Alarmed, Miguel tensed and stood up immediately once he recognized the young man now practically storming through the waiting room and towards the exit. What had happened to make Jayme so upset...Miguel had never seen him like this before... Frowning, Miguel quickened his step and crossed to the exit before Jayme could reach it and made to grab the young man's arm. "Jayme..."Miguel began in a concerned, quiet voice,"What's wrong...? What happened that has you so upset...?"he continued calmly, concern evident on his features as he waited for an answer.[/scrolly]

[Jay]

Jayme hadn't even heard Justice's voice as he moved. He just wanted to get away... or to fight something. Either one would do. He was angry, hurt, and unable to decide which he wanted to feel stronger. He couldn't wish the feeling away. No, he actually didn't want it to go away. He wanted it to burn into him that he'd failed to protect yet another person that he cared about, another person that had been his friend for a long time now. Every second, every moment he was forced to endure more of both emotions converging around him like walls threatening to seal him in, but it was self-willed at that point.

What did stop Jayme's movement was feeling a firm hand on his arm causing the pink haired young man to stop walking and whip sideways leering through tear stained eyes at whatever had got in his way. In a split second, Miguel's expression and voice slashed at the angry side of Jayme, and all that was left was hurt. Once more tears welled up and slid down Jayme's cheeks as he stared at Miguel, and a strangled sob akin to the one Feliciano had made only a bit ago escaped from Jayme. He wanted to be strong. He wanted to fight, but in that moment, he simply snagged Miguel's shirt and buried his face into it as yet more sobs broke out of him. Jay couldn't speak if he had wanted to, and thus he ended up simply crying there.

Haiiro's eyes softened a little as Elayne spoke again, and for a few seconds, they dropped regarding the foot of the bed more than Elayne. "Elayne...you....that guy...." Haiiro found the words he was trying to say so desperately were slipping through his metaphorical fingers rather quickly. "He won't do that again. I'll kill him before then!" was the sudden explosion of words that slipped from the other irritated young man in the room.

Feliciano was quiet as he continued to remain where he was by Elayne's side. He thought to explain that Elayne hadn't recognized him, but as Felis's lips tried to move, he found nothing would come for a few seconds and what finally did come out wasn't what had been intended. "No I will," he replied. Haiiro's eyes darted accusingly to Felis for a second before reflecting who it was that he was staring at and sighing softly.

Justice stopped when Miggy stopped the young man from leaving. What was going on?? Not knowing what to do Justice stood there looking at Jayme and Miggy talk. When Miggy said Jayme's name Justice blinked, so this was the boy Miggy was training to be a knight.. He looked so broken right now it hurt to even look at him. But he needed help and if there was anything she could do she would have to try. Justice slowly took a few steps forward and gently placed her hand on Jayme's shoulder. If the boy was blaming himself for this he should be mad her... If she did not take off on her own Miggy and Jayme may have been there to prevent this from happening. Not knowing what to say Justice stood there as tears formed in her eyes. " I'm sorry..." Was all Justice could say.


Cora was shocked to see Jayme this way. What happned to Elayne?? unable to resist the urge to see her sister, Cora then started to wheel off. She went through the doors making her way down the hall way asking a nurse where Elayne was as she did so. When she got the info she wanted she wheeled herself off to the room Elayne was. After a few minutes she found it and went inside. When Cora saw Elayne and how bad she looked Cora eyes grew wide and she gasped. What did that monster do to her!! Cora's body then started to shake with anger but she did her best to keep her expression calm. " Elayne." Cora said as calmly as she could as she slowly wheeled closer to her sister.

Seeing the expression on the young man's face alarmed Miguel, even more so as the strangled sob of sorts escaped Jayme. When Jayme buried his face in his shirt Miguel slowly put his arms around the young man, not knowing what he could say at that point in time. When Justice came up to them and put her hand on Jayme, Miguel looked at her, wondering why she had said that she was sorry. None of this had happened because of her...so then why was Justice apologizing... --- Seeing Haii's eyes soften, Elayne let her arm drop back onto the bed as he began to speak. His voice was enough assurance that this in fact was Haii which both calmed and hurt Elayne. How could she have forgotten his face...they'd been through so much together...it just wasn't fair... When Haii's words registered, Elayne closed her eyes and breathed out quietly. It was a nice feeling knowing that someone wanted to protect her... She couldn't quite explain it but hearing it from Haii, Jayme...and now Felis, had a calming effect on Elayne. Elayne had just opened her eyes again and was about to say something when she caught sight of another form entering the room and once again confusion flickered across her face. She could tell that this was someone else that she was supposed to remember judging by the look on the woman's face but couldn't place it. Elayne was hoping that either Felis or Haii would say the girl's name just like Felis had done with Haii but none came and Elayne found herself growing more confused and anxious by the minute. When the girl finally did speak, Elayne recognized it as Cora's voice but still wasn't entirely sure. It was hard after relying on her eyes so much to trust what her other senses were telling her..."...who...are you...?"Elayne asked quietly, almost dreading the reaction she would get from the woman in the wheelchair. Elayne knew that she was supposed to be able to remember these people but she just simply...couldn't...and she hated it...[/scrolly]

[Jay]

Justice's voice echoed somewhere in the far reaches of Jayme's mind, but as it was, he could barely understand what it was let alone why Justice was saying it. He could barely even register that Miguel had put his arms around him or Justice's comforting gesture. All that was spreading through him was anguish birthed by frustrations burn out, and all Jayme could do was cry. He didn't even try and stop it at that point but was ready to make himself raw from the emotion built up inside. Why was this happening? Why couldn't he do anything? It wasn't fair! It wasn't fair at all! "I hate it..." the pink haired young man finally choked out though he would be the only one to know what 'it' was deep down- his own inability to do anything. It felt like all he would ever be was the nurse...He could only try and heal the damage already done, but he could do nothing to stop it. He couldn't defend the people he wanted to, and for as strong as he wanted to be, Jayme Joy was still a teenager and still a child in many respects.

Another strange moment occurred between Feliciano Rossi and Haiiro Navi in that moment. Both men stared, and at the same exact time, both reflected on the past conversation they shared along with the feelings that it had brought up in the process. Even more odd still, at the same exact time, they both wondered what the other thought on those hidden but frustrating talks. It gave Cora just enough time to actually wheel into the room almost unnoticed by either of the two men staring at one another up until her voice hit the air. Felis jumped instantly and looked over unsure of himself at first before sighing. Haiiro's head simply turned, and he stared briefly before looking away. Before Feliciano had a chance to moderate what Elayne was about to say- as though somehow keeping the hurt to himself in the process, Elayne had spoken questioning who Cora was. Haiiro's entire body went on edge in that moment, and his head turned around again staring at Elayne. "Why are you asking that?" he snapped harder than intended and only realizing his voice after speaking. Blue eyes dropped briefly before looking back up at Elayne again. However, before Haiiro had a chance to fix what he had said or even ask a different question, Felis sighed. "She didn't remember me at first either," shifted into the air as Felis slowly shook his head. "Elayne, this is Cora, your sister," he stated after a moment unsure if he needed to say the last part or not.

Cora at first looked like someone had just slapped her in the face. Elayne... Her own sister did not remember her?? The Doctor had said she may have some memory issues... this?? How Cora wished this was all just a bad dream and she would wake up and everything would be fine. As the shock faded anger threatened to take over her very being but Cora fought it back and tried to keep herself calm. It was not Elayne's fault it was the jerk back at the castle who did this... Better save all her anger for him.... Cora looked down at her lap as she tried to calm herself down and her bangs shadowed her eyes. Cora said nothing as Haii and Felis spoke, though when they where done Cora felt she was ready to say something. " Its alright. " Cora said as she looked up with a smile, in a surprisingly calm voice. Though on the inside her emotions where threatening to erupt like a volcano. But Cora forced them in for Elayne's sake, today had been rough and Cora felt she did not need to make it worse.


Justice was at a loss for what to do.. She kept her hand on Jayme's shoulder but this time looked down to the point her bangs shadowed her eyes. The tears that formed where now over flowing and dropping on the floor. Part of her did not know why she was crying but part of her did. But that was something she was not going to say out loud at the moment.

Whatever had happened when he had visited Elayne hadn't been good...nevertheless Miguel would refrain from questioning until Jayme at least calmed down a little. After a moment or two Jayme finally spoke but the statement could have meant many thing though considering the breakdown occurred after seeing Elayne, Miguel assumed that it had something to do with the condition she was in. "Jayme..."Miguel began quietly before pulling away slightly so that he could look at him,"What happened back there that has you so upset...?"he continued calmly, looking Jayme in the eye as he spoke. It wasn't until a few moments later that Miguel noticed that Justice was crying as well and released Jayme before wrapping his sister in an embrace. He didn't know for certain why she was crying but after the day Justice had had it came as no surprise to him. Miguel wished that they had arrived under better circumstances but what happened couldn't be changed...they would just have to learn from their mistakes and move on. The fact that this was the second time someone had been hurt presumably under his watch wasn't lost on Miguel and he was already kicking himself for not getting back sooner. This could have been prevented...just like the last time and yet Miguel had been helpless to do anything but pick up the pieces in the aftermath yet again. --- Elayne shifted her gaze downwards when Haii snapped at her for asking the question and fell silent. She had asked because she didn't know...but...how could she explain something like that... Elayne didn't even know how to begin to say that she simply couldn't tell who it was. Fortunately Felis spoke up first much to Elayne's relief...though it was still hurt that she had forgotten to begin with. Upon hearing the woman's name, Elayne once again looked at Cora, trying to place the name with the face she saw. Maybe...hopefully she could remember for next time... Cora's reply didn't help anything...how could she say that it was all right... No, nothing was all right...forgetting your friends and family was not all right! "It's not..."Elayne replied, her voice little more than a pained whisper, "D..don't tell me is... I know it's not..."she continued before falling silent once again, not looking at anybody in the room for the moment. This wasn't all right...nothing was...every breath was an all too painful reminder of what happened. Elayne hurt...both physically and emotionally...and there was nothing she could do but hope that time would heal the wounds.[/scrolly]

Jayme gulped trying to draw air into his lungs as he met Miguel's gaze as best he could. He wanted to answer the question. He really did. He wanted to explain that Elayne had looked horrible there in the hospital bed, and he wanted to explain that she didn't recognize him at first. He wanted to say that he hated the man that had done it. He wanted to explain that there was no reason Elayne should have been harmed. He wanted to say how much he wanted to fight and tear into that man and make him suffer as much as Elayne had. However, for all this, Jayme simply stared up at Miguel as those tears continued to spill out, and rather than an answer, a question formed on Jayme's lips. He didn't speak it at first. Instead, Miguel had moved over a bit, and as Jayme's head turned, he found himself looking again at the girl whose face he didn't know. If the moment had been better, he would ave introduced himself, but all that was left was a dry feeling despite all the tears. Raising a hand, Jayme rubbed the side of his face trying to push away the stains of water.

"Master why wasn't I there?" Jay all but whispered after a few more seconds. "Why was she alone when this happened? Why wasn't I there to do anything?" Despite all the anger, despite all the hate, Jayme couldn't refute the guilt that was solidifying in him as well. He could have been there....he could have stopped this. If he had known Miguel was feeling almost the exact same thing, Jayme would have possibly stopped himself, but he didn't, and it slipped out rather quickly after he'd worked up enough to say it. Anger suddenly sparked again in Jayme, and his fist clenched briefly with unfixated aggression. "WHY CAN'T I DO ANYTHING?" he suddenly shouted once again feeling his voice crack with tension. Flinching briefly, Jayme mumbled a quiet apology for being so loud before sighing softly again.

Haiiro couldn't find a median. A part of him wanted to shout- wanted to be angry, yet the logical part of him argued it would only make the matter worse. After a few seconds, he slowly turned and started over towards the window unable to face the moment that was taunting him for the first time in a long time.

Felis's lips pressed hard together as he tried to ignore the frown that was coming to them. At Elayne's reply to Cora's short few words, he flinched before forcing a calmer smile. "It's not ok right now, but it will be..." he reassured as best he could. "It will all be alright. How about I see if we can all get some food... I doubt any of us has eaten anything good in the last few hours," he continued before slowly starting to stand up. "I'll be sure to ask the doctors about exact food but..." Felis smiled looking from Cora to Elayne and then to Haiiro. "But yes, I'll be right back..." he reassured before briefly starting to exit.

[Baroness Charmissey]

Justice felt Miggy's arms go around her and she leaned into him, She then just let herself cry freely. Most of her tears where from the guilt she was now feeling and also from the fear she had felt from seeing the fire pokemon, and how hurt Elayne was.. She had held back her emotions but now they where just overflowing thanks to Jayme's tears and outbursts. She may try to act like a adult but Justice is still a mere child. " I'm sorry.." Justice said through her tears and clung to her brother.


Cora said nothing and just looked at her sister. Cora hated the way that jerk had treated her.. At least she got some revenge through Treecko.. She would have to reward Treecko later for that. When Felis said something about food Cora shook her head, she was to angry to eat at the moment her appetite was gone. " I'm not hungry... Oh and Felis.. I would like to talk to you later.." Cora said and looked right at him, her eyes betraying her anger as much as she was trying to hide it. She then looked over at Elayne and placed her hand on the side of the bed. She wanted to say something to help make Elayne feel better but no words came to her.

His words almost echoed Miguel's own thoughts moments ago...he wished that there had been something that he could've done...it seemed they both did. "Jayme..."Miguel replied in a calm, quiet voice before sighing,"I do not know the answer to those questions either... This is the second time I have been thrust into a situation where I have felt like I could do nothing Jayme... It is not easy but you cannot waste time thinking about the what ifs. You will only end up hurting yourself in the long run,"he continued before sighing and closing his eyes briefly when Jayme shouted. When it seemed that the young man had calmed down a little, Miguel breathed out quietly and was about to say something when Justice's quiet voice reached his ears. Turning his attention from Jayme to Justice, Miguel held Justice tighter and shook his head,"No Justice...you have nothing to be sorry for. This is not your fault..." he replied quietly, hoping that his words would help her understand."Even if we had been there...there would still be a chance that this could happen.... Don't blame yourself for something that might have been..."Miguel continued quietly before holding Justice a little closer. --- Haiiro walking away from her didn't help Elayne in the slightest...in fact it only made her feel worse. He knew now...that she had forgotten him...she wouldn't be surprised if he was mad at her now... Tears once again spilled over her cheeks both because of the numbing pain that was beginning to return and the hurt of knowing that she couldn't recall the faces of those closest to her. Closing her eyes, Elayne did her best to shut out the pain until Felis spoke again, she opened her eyes and looked at him...or rather where she heard his voice coming from. Despite her ears telling her that the man beside her was Felis, her eyes still told a different story...one that said this man was a complete stranger... Elayne wanted to believe that what Felis was saying was true...her body would mend given time but would her memory...? If this was permanent... "Okay..."came the quiet reply as Elayne watched Felis stand and leave the room. When Cora put her hand on the side of the bed, Elayne placed her own hand over it, grateful that at least someone was still beside her. Haiiro though...Elayne didn't know what to say to him...if he was angry she didn't blame him. He had every right to be...Elayne was frustrated herself with her own inability to recognize people. There was nothing she could do to change it however and that hurt all the more...Elayne hated feeling so helpless...so...broken...[/scrolly]
